Front desk staff was pleasant on arrival. We were assigned a room that the outside door lock could not be operated with a key card. It was nearly at the opposite corner of the building from the only operating exterior door into the lobby (mind you it was single digits with -20 wind chill). Staff then said that the outside door did not work. Would’ve been nice to know. We were then assigned a different room a couple of doors down that had a trick to close the outside door. Better than the previous I guess. During the overnight we discovered that the heater did not respond to temperature changes on the controller and instead required it to be physically shut off to prevent a sweltering room in the middle of the night. This did not make for a restful stay. Having stayed at this location multiple times over the years I definitely expected a better experience. Tough to find lodging in this area so either you travel farther or it’s what you settle with.

The room was dirty, so run down. The towel bar fell off the wall when we touched it. The ceiling was falling down in the bathroom. The flouring was damaged from water. The cable TV wasn’t working, couldn’t hold a Chanel.

The room did smell strongly of cleaning solution when I first entered the room, but after a while the smell went away. I will say it was probably the cleanest motel room I’ve stayed in. The TV glitched for about an hour, but eventually worked fine. Easy access off I35. Front desk guy was very nice. Good price. Would stay again.

Ok room for the price, for a quick one night stay, no frills. Safe area, room was Ok, Bed was nice, but the room was not a 5 star! Great TV setup, with the TV being mounted up higher on the wall so that you could watch it while laying in Bed. Clean, yes, updated, not so much, Overall we would stay again, but take along an extra blanket to cover up with as the sheet and comforter were sparse.

Motel 6 South Haven, Kansas

Had an excellent stay, just me and my little dog. Room clean, quiet, bed comfortable, young man who checked me in was very nice, good personality. The gas station next door has good sandwiches, burgers and pizzas.
One website said it was booked so tried another site and got a room reservation. They were not full. That website is losing business for them, unfortunately.

No Bugs!

I read reviews for rooms in Winfield and Arkansas City ks. Didnt find very many that bed bugs was not mentioned except Motel 6 in South Haven. The price of the room was very reasonable and had good reviews. This is an older building and doesnt have a lot of frills but it was clean, cool, quiet and comfortable. I will definitely stay again.

The young man at the desk was so friendly. He noticed we were older and changed our room to ground floor, then made sure our room key worked.
We were so tired we didn’t complain about the bed pad hadn’t dried all the way before put on bed. We just left the covers up and slept with the bedspread.. it was clean, just damp..

Great

Was worried with it being a Motel 6 it has been 20years since I have stayed in one. The family running this motel was really nice and super accommodating. We had a great experience. The only thing I would suggest is to remodel your showers. Other than that the room has a lot of space.

Clean property. The outside seems a bit runsown but the rooms are fantastic. Clean amd comfortable beds. Good shower. This place is in the middle of nowhere and if you are tired of driving and need a quite restfull break, it is tour place. There is one gas station right across the motel. There is nothing else in the area. Better bring your shampoo amd conditioner because the hotel didnt provide. Overall, I took a restful break.

Place was clean and well kept. Check-in was quick. Right off the freeway, but I didn't hear any road noise or any of the neighbors.

The rooms were up to date, very clean and tidy, and if I go back through that area and need to stay the night I would be happy to at this location again.

South Haven KS

The lady at the front desk was amazing and kind. Only cleanliness issue was the shower, there was something in the drain, maybe some hair. Not sure. The bed was so soft, the room was nice and cold and dark for sleeping. I liked the large field next to the motel for walking my dog.

Very Good for the price.

Overall, for $70, it was worth the stay. We will be stopping here again.
The room and bathroom were clean, the AC worked, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. No hair dryer. Ice machine worked. The lady at check in was friendly. We left at 3am (just needed a cat nap) and no one was at the desk to check out; so, we slid the card under the glass. Easy on and off the highway and right next to a gas station. The rooms look updated.
Some minor repairs needed: the broken ceiling tile in the bathroom, new blankets (cigarette burns/holes on both beds), the towel rack had exposed MDF, and some of the baseboards were peeling off. I think a mat by the door would be beneficial to wipe off wet shoes (we take them off just inside nonetheless).

Price is ok. No comparison with other motel 6 we've stayed, this one is not as clean as the one we've stay. Only plus it has microwave and mini refrigerator.

The first day the lady at the front desk told me and another guy I was working with who was in another room that our rooms were supposed to have microwaves and that they were going to pick some up and they would have them the next day, this never happened. Normally most hotels will have a daily servicing and change towels and at least make the bed. ... The service staff never entered my room during my stay.
