The staff was extremely helpful. We had a big race in the early morning, so they served dinner early so we could get to bed and then opened up breakfast for us at 2:00am.
That ment the world to all the racers that stayed there.

Check in was poor. Staff barely friendly. They could not find our booking but were not telling us anything. Obviously we had no room and it took them like 15 minutes to find us one but they never explained anything. Never apologized or so. We had booked a room with view on the sea... but a huge tree was hiding the sea! The only view we had was on the parking lot...!!! As we arrived early in the afternoon, we went for a walk but Puerto Chacabuco proper does not offer sufficient attractions to hold interest, a small and nondescript ferry terminal, with poor eating options, no shops of any kind. Thus we wanted to have a drink at the bar while waiting for dinner. But weren't we surprised when we were told the bar was opening at 7:00 as well as the restaurant !!! Never saw a bar opening so late in that kind of hotel. After a 4-hour drive, we were so looking forward to relaxing and enjoying our evening quietly... We thus had to drive to Puerto Aysen, some 20 minutes away, which is considerably larger with good lodging and food options. The only reason for staying at Loberias is to take the Catamaran run by the same company to the San Rafael glacier. So if one is not worried by an early morning start to meet the Catamaran, Puerto Aysén might be a better option. As we did not want to get up too early, it was convenient to stay at Loberias. Even the gift shop is not attractive and the person running it is not friendly either. Don't expect too much of this hotel.

The hotel is quite old and low maintained. Service and attitude of stuff is below expectations.
Things to consider:
1. Don’t go on the excursion unless it is a sunny day. Otherwise, you will virtually see nothing.
2. If you already visited other glaciers like the Upsala or Moreno - skip this one. You will be disappointed and feel this was a waste of time and money.
3. The highlight of excursion is going down with inflatable boats. Beware! In our case, the crew was irresponsible. A hail storm started and although we were with small kids and asked to return to the main boat, they insisted to wait until we all got soaked in water freezing. Kids crying didn’t help. We had to sit all soaked on the way back for five hours. Nobody cared or tried to help...
4. If you don’t speak Spanish don’t expect to understand the crew’s explanations. The crew hardly speaks English. They will provide long descriptions in Spanish and then a very short one in English.
5. Breakfast is quite disappointing

Big disappointment. Hotel is outdated and food is really bad. Breakfast is outrageous, they provide guests with coffee plates as plates... maybe they try to minimize the amount of food you can consume???
Trip to the Laguna os also a big disappointment... recommend to skip

Read this before you go

The main reason to stay here is the excursion to Laguna San Rafael. Our experience was that this is a waste of time and money.
Things to consider:
1. Don’t go on the excursion unless it is a sunny day. Otherwise, you will virtually see nothing.

An excellent hotel in a picturesque area. Roms are well kept , clean and comfortable. In house restaurant had a nice menu and food was very good. You can also eat in the bar but service was slow and menu limited. It is likely to be the best hotel in the area. Highly recommended!

Loberias del Sur Hotel is the place to stay in Puerto Chacabuco. There is nothing interesting to see in the village, but from its port the beautiful fjord sail to the glacier at Laguna San Rafael departs.

Certainly the best accommodation in the area that I am aware of. Nicely appointed room, comfortable with all the modern conveniences, shower, tub, complimentary toiletries, chocolates handed out by a service agent, who inguired if we were OK. When we responded that we thought the room too hot, somone was immediately tasked with getting it resolved. Excellent buffet breakfast with among other items scrambled eggs, very nice apple kuchen. The only reason for staying at Loberias is to take the Catamaran run by the same company to the San Rafael glacier. Puerto Chacabuco proper does not offer sufficient attractions to hold interest, a small and nondescript ferry terminal, with poor eating options, no shops of any note. Puerto Aysen some 20 minutes away on the other hand, is considerably larger with good lodging and food options. So if one is not worried by an early morning start to meet the Catamaran, that might be a better option. As we are not early risers, the convenience of staying at Loberias made possible a seamless trip to the glacier.

certainly the best lodging in the immediate area, very nice facilities fast WiFi, ample and modern room, excellent breakfast with delicious kuchen. staff very attentive. Location is both a blessing and a curse. if one is not taking the catamaran, there would be little reason for staying there. The facilities and staff certainly made our glacier visit that much more comfortable. only quibble, no a la carte meals in restaurant, some snacks available I'm second floor bar. Only expensive buffets.

Nice hotel and place, but the quality and variety of food, being good, are not according the quality of the hotel.
I stayed there four days. Three days the dinner was buffet and the other one was a fixed menu. It had not more options.

The hotel is nice enough and is in a nice location. It was convenient for the port for my ferry the next day to Chiloé. The barman was friendly and interacted well with his customers. However I was disappointed with the evening meal in the restaurant. It was buffet style and very average with no a la carte options. Likewise breakfast was very average

Es muy lindo muy cómodo tiene cafeteria bar y restaurant, el desayuno muy bueno en general muy bien.

Hay que tener en cuenta que cuando haces el check inn te solicitan dejar 200 MIL PESOS chilenos en garantía , en efectivo o descontado de tu tarjeta de credito ( que en mi caso han pasado 5 dias y aun no son reintegrados a mi cuenta)

O hotel é agradável, mas nem todos os quartos haviam banheiras. O café da manhã foi bem básico, sem grandes opções. O pior foi o cardápio de Ano Novo, péssimo pelo custo beneficio, atendimento sem qualidade, demorado, vinho regular, a equipe estava perdida. Pratos frios, foi servido um pão duro como pedra, parecia bandejão. Não recomendo em datas festivas. Pelas fotos do hotel, dava a impressão que havia piscina ou termas, mas não fazem parte do hotel, o serviço é realizado em outro local e a parte.

En general fue una buena estadía, solo que el bar glaciar dejo mucho que desear pedimos un tabla para compartir y se podía decir que con suerte era para 1 persona, carísima en relación a la calidad y al pagar cuando se menciono esto indicaron que se debió haber dicho en el momento, ya que, no siempre entregan las mismas tablas en cantidad y variedad, lo cual es ilógico porque el valor es solo uno, no se me cobro menos porque fue muy poco. Después solo comimos en el restaurante que el servicio y los platos son mucho mejor.
En recepción la mayoría muy amable, pero al momento de consultar por la logística de llegada nunca respondieron whatsapp.

Excelente Hotel, muuyyy limpio, hermoso, acorde al medio ambiente, con chimeneasnque te invitaban a tomarnuna copa y disfrutar de la lluvia y la increíble vista. La comida exquisita y el tour a Laguna San Rafael que entrega el mismo hotel es maravilloso de primera calidad con un servicio completo con desayuno, aperitivos, almuerzo, snacks todo muy muy completo solo debes dedicarte a disfrutar de lo hermoso de los paisajes.
Utilizamos el servicio de lavanderia y fue muy rápido y económico.
En general un 10 volveré de todas maneras

Pésima estadía, no es lo que esperaba o promociona el hotel, habitaciones antiguas oscuras (poca iluminación), estacionamiento en la calle, personal poco preparado para atender publico en general , cero respeto por los huéspedes, si llego a un hotel es para descansar independiente del fin del viaje, por lo cual todos en el hotel deben estar en sintonía con ello, cosa que no ocurrió en este hotel, muy mal

El lugar es lindo y cómodo, las habitaciones son pequeñas. Ni agua embotellada en ellas. La atención casi es inexistente. A pesar de enviar mail me dieron las habitaciones como a ellos se les ocurrió. Al hablar con la mucama para que las resolviera dijo que estaba muy ocupada.
El restorant cuenta con un menú al almuerzo y cena. La comida es buena, la atención de los garzones pésima. Más de 1 hora de espera por un plato, de los que llegaron. Otros faltaron. El resto de los días sentías que te hacían un favor al atenderte. Ni saludo existió de su parte.
Te quedas porque es el operador turístico de la zona, pero no cuentan con tours (reserva con meses de anticipación te dicen) el
Hotel a capacidad completa y el bar cerrado porque no tienen quien lo atienda.
Resumen lindo lugar, pésimo servicio.

El servicio de la gente muy bueno, es especial Sebastian, creo que trabaja en el restaurante, nos oriento mucho con informacion local, gracias. La atencion en general muy buena. Lo unico es la comida, realmente bastante mala, un pollo a la plancha llego y estaba hervido seco sin sabor papas fritas viejas y frias, lo informe y solo me lo calentaron y trajeron lo mismo, si van pidan el plato del dia que se veian mejor, no pidan del menu. gracias
