The room was both clean and spacious, with an AC unit that conveniently offers both cooling and heating. The staff were helpful and provided info on discount at eateries etc. Parking was available, and it was easy to buy groceries nearby.

The overpowering smell of bleach reeking from the bathroom. It was like a gas chamber in the room and definitely a health hazard. If you must use that much bleach you really need to rinse it away. Carpet and furniture not clean.
For the money it was disappointing.

We did not enjoy our stay at all the rooms were dirty on arrival the floors hadn’t been vacuumed there were marks on the wall we didn’t have any bathroom amenities other than toilet paper infact 3 rolls no makeup remover cloth as stated an we were able to have one coffee each as the amenities in our room only enabled one. No water jug or bottled water when we returned the following day our room had only had the bed half made the doona cover wasn’t even on the doona simply thrown over no cleaning whatsoever had been done dirty cups were even left for us to use the minibar not restocked nor any clean towels when it states leave on the floor to have replaced or hang to reuse there were marks all over the mirror an the ironing board left out on display. Considering it was $249 a night I expected to get the service I paid for. They do room service for dinner only would of rathered breakfast room service instead no food facilities on premises. Certainly won’t waste my money there again

A great place to stay in Geraldton

The Gerald was much better than expected. A nice size room in a handy location to town. Good information and discount perks for several local businesses. The rooftop bar was a real bonus. Staff were lovely and willing to help with our inquiries. Food at the rooftop bar was nice, but a bit small in portion size (our only negative thought). We would definitely stay at The Gerald again !

Everything was absolutely beautiful, unfortunately the only down sides were, the walls were too thin in regards to hearing other people next door showering and talking

My rms window backed onto stairs for the roof top bar, so when people left I could hear them loud and clear at 11/12pm going up and down the and laughing, so very noisy

And people in the hallway drinking on the ground and kids running up and down making a racket
Unfortunately didn’t get enough sleep due to not being able to from the noise, and the menu for food was over priced in my opinion, and car parking space was quite small for bigger cars.

Other than that, staff were beautiful, amenities were amazing, still would come back easily but different room choice.

I appreciated the ability to spend the night in a decent hotel in Geraldton. The room was clean and the bathroom was clean, which was nice after a week at a caravan park. I also appreciated that I could check in after "reception hours" at the bar attached. My flight was delayed significantly from Perth and so I didn't arrive until after the Reception had closed, but they arranging for parking for my car and gave me a key to my room.

A very clean, spacious, well equipped room in the centre of Geraldton. Close to shops, dining options and the Foreshore. Although off street parking is offered we were lucky to secure the last space at 4.00 pm in the afternoon, suggesting that this could be a problem. Overall we wholeheartedly recommend the Gerald as a good choice if you want to be in the centre of the city.

Love the roof top bar (the main reason for staying here) but why stop serving food at 8 pm on a Friday night?! We were unable to find anywhere in town so after being told at reception the rooftop was open to 10 pm we assumed at least snacks would be available but there was nothing. Then tried room service but that also stopped at 8 pm also. Ended up with bread and Vegemite in our room!

Didn’t like incorrectly installed toilet seat (too far back), missing hand towel and towel hooks / rails in bathroom. Toilet roll holder poorly positioned. Great Stay to explore Geraldton and Kalbarri

Super convenient for both driving and walking to explore Geraldton. Free Parking on site is a great pitstop for trip to Kalbarri National Park. Staff are friendly. Quite pricey, but worth the price that’s paid.

Very nice hotel - we really liked it.
But we would have liked the breakfast option at the hotel. There were toasties or croissants though.
An out of 3 of us couples ... all 3 rooms had issues with the hot water. Showers were not good.

So I stay there quite often because the rooms and bed are fantastic.
The recurring problem is that there is often no hot water in the morning. This is VERY regular in the morning, I understand there is high demand but you do put yourselves out there as a premium hotel and price the rooms accordingly. This is not a problem at other hotels in Geraldton.

We had a very pleasant stay at The Gerald. Check in was easy. The security guard at the door was welcoming as he asked for our Covid-19 vaccination certificates. The room was roomy clean and modern with comfortable beds and great bathroom.
The room did have a strong smell of cleaning products, no doubt from the Covid cleaning regime. The smell disappeared once the window was open for a while.
The Old Man & the Sea rooftop bar in the hotel was great. We had our complimentary drinks, a few more and then dinner while watching the sunset. The food was awesome. Try the squid!!

Room was spacious and comfortable with a nice view. 4th floor level did get some noise from the 3rd floor pub until they close around 10pm, but not too loud and fortunately the music they played was good so sometimes having the window open a bit and hearing the music was pleasant. The only issue we had is that there was one lift serving both the customers and staff so a bit of time waiting for the lift. Would help if they opened up the internal stairwell so you could walk between floors especially to and from the pub and laundry on the 3rd floor. Reception were amazing in helping with post of item to arrive prior to arrival and also posting an item left behind in the room. There is a gym but really only for a few Les Mills classes during the week and Sat mornings, but it is open until 8pm and hotel staff will let you in if you want to use the treadmill, rower or combination weight machine.

Tbe beds are comfy. I arrived after hours had to get key out of lock box which was good but thd next day i got the 3rd degree from reception. My car broke down so had a friend dtive 4 hous to get me i got the rokm.next to me, tbey wouldn't extend check out for an hour which waa avery much disapointing, no breskfast fasilities. And i had no black tea bags i asked for some but i never got given any.. also the cleaning dtaff entered my room 3 times with out the ok from me, not impressed
If you only spending a night in gero i recommend it if longer dont bother.

Comfortable modern hotel in downtown Geraldton. Friday is a very busy evening. If you don't have a reservation, you won't get a table ate either of the restaurants and the options in the rest of town are limited.
It's only a very minor point but it is one of my pet hates that the hotel provides a kettle to make coffee but ththe sink/tap arrangment makes it impossible to fill the kettle without using a cup to fill it one cupt at a time. Amazing that an interior designer capable of creating an otherwise delightful room can overlook an essential bit of functionality.

A Very Pleasant Surprise

Having been recommended by friends to try The Gerald. we were thrilled to come from further afield and find such a good hotel. The receptionist was amazing, we had some car trouble and she went above and beyond to assist us in getting our car assessed by a local mechanic prior to them closing in the evening.
The roof top bar was wonderful, with a lovely view over the city through to the port and sunset. Delicious food and great drinks. The wine list was very impressive with most wines showcasing Western Australia's diverse wine regions.
Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. The luxurious amenities and lovely shower were a blessing after having to bathe in bore water for the two weeks prior.

Overall, I can only recommend The Gerald to all travellers, it is a beacon standing out in Geraldton.

We were very saddened at the rooms cleanliness. Bathroom floor was not clean and raised some concerns being five times. Kitchen cupboards has food and fluid spills on them. Room service was poor. We ordered dinner and drinks and received our drinks 38 minutes after our meal arrived. Was a shame.

Clean and modern hotel in the heart of Geraldton. Free EV charger for guests is the reason we chose to stay there.

No gym, pool or bath tub were the only down side for us. We were going to book mantra for the holiday but need to charge Tesla here.
