I’ve always thought about staying here but only managed it this time around. Absolutely lovely experience. The prettiest room and really good coffee.
Luciano
The rooms were adequate, but not worth $450. Stayed during New
Irina
Excellent!
Erin
Nice location but room bathrooms could use an upgrade.
NED
Awesome, classic, cannot possibly be beat. In Hamilton!
Bernard
While there, we had a regional, power blackout. Staff was wonderful. Bar was open, so we hung out there. We had dinner in an adjacent city. When we returned, all was OK. We also loved the conversations we overheard which focused on the college. Not why we were there, but it added interest.
Todd
Lovely Inn and really the only nice place to stay in Hamilton.

Good stay
Room was spotless. Could use a bit more lighting
Catherine
Best place to stay in Hamilton! Pet friendly, super comfortable rooms and The Tavern never disappoints.
Linda
Wonderful!
We loved the Inn. Stayed 4 nights and were able to upgrade to a more comfortable room after the first two nights, which was great. The staff were wonderful and the restaurant had delicious food. Very charming place
Karrie
Such a quaint but upscale experience. Loved it!

Nice but small for the price
The room was quite small for two queen beds, which is understandable given the age of the building but still a little disappointing for the price.
Lena
Beautiful inn! Charming interior and very helpful staff.
Dennis
Very quaint and historic building that has been very well preserved and updated.
Suzan
Disappointing
The lobby is beautiful and check in staff friendly. The Tavern had character and was fun. The food was nothing special, had to send back undercooked whole mini carrots twice. The menu was also very limited if you have dietary restrictions. The roasted chicken special was delicious.
The room was a total disappointment. The bed creaked at any nice, the room was cramped and you nearly had to shimmy sideways to cross the room to a tiny bathroom. The hair drier was broken.
I would not stay again or recommend.

Absolutely NOT worth the nightly rate. Carpet on stairs needs a deep clean.

Hotel is a little bit old, but it’s clean. People are nice. Very close to Colgate University.
robert
Very cute and quaint - check in staff was excellent.
No gym/health facilities on premises
Bartender was a jerk and needs to find a job that doesn't make him miserable.

Michael
Check in was prompt and I was offered an upgrade to a quieter room.
Meghan
Really nice inn in a great location relative to town and the university. The staff is wonderful, the beds are very comfortable and the hotel has so much charm. The restaurant is very good, wished it stayed open later, and served breakfast, but otherwise it was a great experience.
Amy
Very easy check in and the staff was friendly. Loved the inclusive parking and proximity to Colgate University
bradford
Its air conditioner didn't have the constant fan option so it went on and off making it hard to sleep a little.
Small issue compared to how awesome the rest of it was!!!

It was oozing with charm. The staff was friendly. The only thing we were not prepared for were the gnats in our room.

We were visiting the area for a college tour at Colgate University. We arrived on Easter Sunday, late in the day. The Inn had notified us that there would be limited dinner options. However, when we arrived, they informed us that there was a change of plans, and they were able to provide us with a wonderful meal! It was our first Easter away from home and this was a fabulous surprise. The women that worked that evening (Unfortunately I did not get their names) went above and beyond!!!

Colgate Inn visit
Hamilton, New York has few options for parents of Colgate University students. This is a huge deciding factor for my daughter's college choices. Colgate Inn is very nice, very well appointed, clean, and quiet, but it is very expensive and one of the only choices. I will note that the breakfast was almost inedible but the coffee was decent.
