The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff were friendly. However we did not have WiFi as we were told they are in the midst of changing a provider. Also with all the fancy switches to control the lights, blinds etc, the bed does not have a headboard. We had no conditioner, shampoo only. Finally we had a city wide electricity outage due to no fault of the hotel. After the electricity came back after one hour or so, the water was muddy for a long time but it was better the next morning.

A good value in a semi premium class for a resort town sort of setting and surrounding area. Facility has some wear over the decades if you look closely (as many places do), but it proved a solid choice. Well located in old town and still possible to park. Hit and miss nearby (and free), but they also have a remote lot well above on hill with lots of space. Staff was small, consistent and always attentive.

This property is NOT a five star hotel. At best maybe a 1 star. Clean but extremely dated and worn out. There’s no internet in the rooms, only the lobby area and a very small room they call the business centre. No parking although they claim there is.
The location is great , but all else failed for me and therefore I would not stay here or recommend
The staff are very nice and try their best to make you feel welcome but this hotel appears to have been deteriorating for many years.

Wonderful property overlooking the promenade and a great view of the water castle of Bourtzi. Shopping and Tavernas are plentiful and an easy walk. The staff were very friendly, and requests were responded to promptly. We were only there for 2 days/1 night but would have gladly stayed longer if time allowed. would definitely choose this property again on a return to Nafplio!

here to start... Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi never worked in our room, which was a major issue since both of us work remotely. The rooms are outdated and in need of serious renovations. On our first night, the A/C wasn’t cooling properly — we later learned that temperature control is tied to seasonal settings, which made things uncomfortable.

It’s clear the hotel needs urgent upgrades, though we were told that any improvements require government permits and approval, which adds to the delays.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. We will not be staying here again.

It is an adequate hotel because it has been extremely neglected. It hasn’t had the maintenance it needs in many years. Our stay was wonderful because the staff is so outstanding. We were disappointed because there is no Internet in the guest rooms and no restaurant on the premises aside from breakfast. It is not close to the old town. This hotel was probably fabulous 20 years ago. But you might want to say someplace more centrally located.

Avoid this hotel, needs major refurbishment

How this hotel gets 5 stars on hotels.com astounds me. It’s is very tired and in need of major refurbishment. The WiFi in the rooms doesn’t work but the staff do nothing about it. We had no hot water for the 2 days we were there. They did move us to a suite when we complained but that had no hot water either. It did have a jacuzzi bath but when I tried to use it lukewarm neith the reception not housekeeping knew how to turn it on and they had no instructions. The shower leaked, the armchairs and bed balance had holes in, the quilt was lumpy with filling clumped together. The balcony had wooden benches which were warped with nails sticking out so unusable. Breakfast was the worst from all 9 hotels we stayed at in Greece. When we said we weren’t paying the full price it had unfortunately been prepaid by hotels.com and they said we have to ask them.
The only thing that saves this hotel is the stunning sea view. Avoid at all costs, I now see why there are no photos to speak of

Disappointed in Nafplio

The Hotel was definitely not a 5 star. Having said that the Concierge Costas was above and beyond to help us park our car. Ionina apologies if that is incorrectly spelt tried her very best to make us comfortable.
All said it looked very well worn, bathrooms needed updating lots of wood needed varnishing. We visited at Easter and the restaurant was shut and the member of staff was not too polite in telling us so we went elsewhere.
The staff Reception staff did what they could to help but overall we were disappointed. It’s really unusual for me not to give a rave review.The curtains in our room 409 were brown with water marks? Sorry I could not be more positive. I suffer from various back issues. If we were staying in a 2 star overnight I used to take a JYSK mattress topper with me in fact I bought it in Nafplio in 2023.

This property is situated on a beautiful seafront, our room faced the vast sea and the old castle in the middle of the sea, an indescribable beauty that made our stay unforgettable. The surroundings are mountainous and watery with quiet side streets lined with many small sophisticated stores and restaurants. The tasty food and good wine plus the elegant street music in the evenings gave the town an air of ancient Greek elegance. The walks on the beach are so refreshing and it is a rare vacation spot.

Amazing spot in Naflio

We arrived to the hotel and noticed that the pool is located in a different hotel which is from the same chain. As my son was before knee surgery and had difficulties to walk and a pool is necessary in this heat, we could change without extra charge to the Naflia Palace Hotel & Villas. It was amazing. The view, the relaxing atmosphere, the service was outstanding!
There is a problem with the Wifi and part of the hotel is closed and there is no gym, but we were happy and satisfied.

Firstly, I have to comment on the outstanding staff, the customer service we received was exemplary. Opposite got off to a bad start with the room being below the required standard, this was quickly rectified and we couldn’t have wished for better service from the whole team?

What could be improved on significantly is the investment in finishes, equipment and modern basics such as good quality, high speed, Wi-Fi, upgraded, plumbing, and better decor within the hotel. The sister Hotel has a pool which can be used, the pool is a particularly modern kitchen and the root, on foot from the hotel is very unpleasant, a tunnel leading to 3 lifts to which are broken, was not fit for a hotel that has the opportunity to be amazing .

The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning and the Seaview room higher-ups strongly recommended, the breakfasts are basic but very appetising.

I’ll give the staff 10 out of 10 as they were magnificent throughout, I think the owner of the property and other properties in the area needs to reflect on keeping the property in line with the market , as there is a massive potential for this hotels to be world-class with the right investment

Amazing location and view. The staff was lovely, though the hotel is showing some age. It's nice enough, but rooms and details are a bit run down. And FYI for those booking for a family: I reserved a \"family suite\" with a queen and two twin beds. The \"queen\" was two twins put together, and one of the \"twins\" was a small cot wedged into a very tiny room with a twin. It was fine for my 10 yr old, but would have been difficult for an older/larger child.

Right on the Harbor with spectacular views. Of the harbor and the Bourtzi water castle. I did not have a terrace with my room, but the whole wall was a window which was beautiful, blackout drapes closed with a touch of a button, the bed was very comfortable and the riom was really very nice and very clean. A very nice clean bathroom with a large window above the tub which also had blinds that were controlled by a touch of a button. Breakfast was included with several breakfasts to choose from. The breakfast room also had big windows and an outdoor terrace with great views of the harbor. The Hotel is also located in a very convenient spot everything is in walking distance.

The property advertised parking but they did not have any. We had to park on the public streets away from the hotel every day. Cleaning staff also didn’t clean our room any of the days. The toilet flush was weak and the shower wasn’t great.

The bed and view were great, and the breakfast was good too. However, I expected better from a 5-star hotel.

You canNOT beat the view from your balcony at this hotel! It is an absolute dream! Not to mention all you have to do is push a button from the side of your bed and the curtains automatically open to your gorgeous sea view each morning. The hotel itself was in good condition, but there could be a few more design touches in the rooms which seemed a bit old. The mattress was also very stiff. Our air conditioning didn’t get as cold as we liked it, but it still worked. The worst part was the internet would only partially work for 10-30 minutes before kicking you off, and it was a 50/50 if it would let you sign in again; this was only an issue since we relied on internet to communicate with other family in the area.

A beautiful property in a great location!

A beautiful hotel perched up on the hill with spectacular water views. It is close to everything (walking distance) but just far enough that you feel like you get away from the hustle and bustle. That said, there's a cafe directly in front of the hotel - down a flight of stairs, if you're after a night cap. Staff are attentive and helpful and the service offering throughout is top notch. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Location on the water front is excellent. Breakfast was good and the service of the staff was very good. Parking can be a bit tricky and you may have to walk a ways if the nearby car park is full and there is limited street parking. That said, it is easier to get in and out of this hotel then many others that you cannot drive up to. Would recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

This property has potential, and I love the balcony and the view. In addition, all of the staff were extremely hospitable and kind, but overall it was a pretty disappointing hotel. There was a few things that were only available at the nearby sister hotel (the pool, special dinner for Easter), but the front desk staff were not aware of the details regarding such things, although they did offer to call and ask, it just seemed weird that they wouldn’t have this info available.

In the room, it was fairly clean, but the floor is in desperate need of refinishing. The sliding bathroom door was extremely hard to open, it seemed like it was off the track and just dragging (I asked the front desk about it on the first night and they said they would have someone look at it, but I’m not sure that happened), the chair at the desk was about to break (the wood plugs would pop out if you leaned back even a tiny bit, so to sit you had to not press against the chair back), and many of the shower heads in the shower either had low pressure or only shot water out of half the holes, so it was extremely weak or strong, and there were just so many rickety aspects of the hotel.

The bones of the hotel and the beautiful balconies and view reminded me so much of hotels in Monaco, but it seems like things haven’t been updated or refreshed in some time.

Our room was hot and the air conditioning did not work properly. They “fixed” it or “reset” it still very uncomfortable and hotel. The refrigerator was broken and never fixed or replaced. I could not keep my insulin cold.

Hotel is considered to be top property in Nafplion, but the rooms need more care. Lobby is nice. Staff is good. Breakfast is ok, not great. Both this hotel and nafplia Palace need serious attention. Owners have decided they can charge too dollar without putting any money in for twenty years. On the bright side, it is much more quiet then the other properties in the main square.

This hotel is placed overlooking the harbour and has a lovely view from the balcony of the room. It was only a short walking distance from the main square and from waterfront tavernas. The staff were universally friendly, attentive and helpful. The room itself was well-appointed and scrupulously clean and well-maintained. There was a good choice of hot and cold fare at breakfast. Certainly I would be very happy to stay here again.

Super nice hotel with a great view

Amphityron hotel is a very nice hotel in Nafplion. We chose this hotel for its location and the promise of nice views of the bay with a little castle in the middle. We were not disappointed. The hotel appeared to be a little dated but still very well maintained. The room was clean and had the usual high end amenities. The curtains were mechanized with the controls right next to the bed, so you could open or close them without getting up. Because of its location, there was little traffic and the hotel was quiet. Most importantly, the hotel restaurant had very nice staff who were helpful and made you feel very welcome. The buffet breakfast was also excellent. In sum, the Amphityron is an excellent hotel well worth the cost.

This is a very tired hotel don't bother.

Rooms are very spartan and without a proper shower only a hand held nozzle. Have never slept ion a harder bed in my life and getting a couple of beach towels was an all out complaint to management. Nafplio palace seems to have it all whilst this hotel is wanting. Staff were helpful.

Not as sleek as it looks, but pretty and convenien

The views at this hotel are tremendous, and the rooms are sleek and stylish; many of the staff are really friendly and helpful--and the location, a short walk from the center of everything interesting, and from a beach on the other side, is ideal. Not everything is up to international standards, and the price is very high, given that shower fixtures fall off and many things don't quite work as they should. But it's the most elegant and cool luxury place in town.

Amphitryon Hotel is located in a lovely part of Nafplio - it's walking distance to restuarants and shops. We managed to get an upgrade on our room and it overlooked the castle and bay area.
The buffet breakfast could be improved and would be nice if the staff were a bit more welcoming.
