This was such a special part of our Belize holiday. The staff was amazing, the rooms were absolutely gorgeous, and you can see that everyone working there takes great pride in excellent hospitality. It was simply a beautiful, relaxing, and utterly tranquil place to be with loads to do both on the property and excursions available. Wish we’d stayed longer than three nights!

This is a very special place to stay. If you're ready to unwind and experience being in the jungle surrounded by a lot of peace and nature, but also having lovely amenities, excursions, and wonderful service from the team running the resort, this is the place to visit. We were there for three nights and I am already thinking about when I might be able to come back and enjoy it for longer!

This extraordinarily beautiful hotel is one of the most luxurious properties in Belize. We stayed in the Creekside rooms which are individual units next to running water, surrounded by lush flora and fauna, with the lovely and constant melody of birds. The service by staff is excellent, the restaurant is stunning, and each dish fresh, unique, inventive and of the highest quality. There are interesting and beautiful jungle trails on property, as well as a gorgeous sister property with a riverside restaurant to visit and enjoy. Sleeping Giant is one of a kind and worth the effort for visitors to travel inland. We chose to spend our three nights on property to fully enjoy the amenities and not venture out on excursions. Our time on property was deeply relaxing and restorative. Thank you Sleeping Giant team for our wonderful experience with you, we take home the loveliest of memories.

Everything was simply amazing about this place! The customer service, the beautiful grounds, the gorgeous room - EVERYTHING was perfect. Don't hesitate to stay here. We had a River View room and it was perfect - high ceilings, big bathroom, and huge patio with four comfy chairs and a hammock. We'd hang outside to listen to the wildlife. We spent time exploring the property, which was fun. We also did a morning sunrise breakfast on the cliff top and that was a wonderful experience. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our stay so special.

The entire staff were amazing! Every person we met greeted us and asked if we needed anything. The room was very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.
The grounds around the resort were beautiful and very well taken care of. It was relaxing to just hang out at the pool or walk around the grounds.

This is perhaps or ninth stay at this property. We had not been to Belize since 2022, and I can say that the quality of service and the property is even better than before - and before it was fantastic.

Dory assisted with our room selection and checked on us our entire trip. She was accommodating and patient with us!

Since 2022, there is a whole new resort on the property - the Banks - which comes with a new restaurant - Humo. While we preferred the food at the Grove and Don Totino's, the atmosphere at Humo is insanely beautiful.

Indeed, the entire property is lovely with a great hike to a gazebo which gives you a lovely view of the mountains and the \"Sleeping Giant.\" There are other hikes on property and I understand they will be offering yoga in the future. If you do not have a car, there are great trips that you can take, including a Ceremonial Cave (which I have done in the past and it was quite cool) tour, expeditions to Mayan ruins, cave tubing or kayaking, and cooking classes.

There are different room types so check into what you most prefer. We have to been to most and like all but one that is too near the road and road noise by reception.

It is a slice of paradise in the middle of the jungle that I cannot recommend enough!

The grounds of this resort are absolutely incredible, a tropical paradise if ever there was one. The room was huge and lovely. The restaurant is OK, quite overpriced, and the food options are really minimal outside of that restaurant (even if you have a car: closest restaurants are in Belmopan, half hour away). But everything about this place, minus the food selection, is an absolute dream. Loved the jungle walks, the riverside views, the free bikes, the groves and trails … and the gardens of the hotel. Would come back.

The Sleeping Giant is a real gem and in itself a reason to head to Belize and spend a week at this beautiful resort south of Belmopan. The grounds and the interior design of the cottages and the house we rented are the best I’ve enjoyed in many years of travel and the staff is A plus. The restaurant with its open air and indoor dining is really good and there is not an amenity that is overlooked in this perfect place! Thanks to all at the ‘Sleeping Giant’!

My boyfriend and I spent a couple nights at this property and from arrival to check out the staff and the service they provided was beyond excellent. We got a room upgrade as our room was located near the main road of the property, something they noticed and offered to us because their attention to detail is immaculate. We were staying for a couple nights and celebrating our anniversary and they did not disappoint. We got the pleasure of experiencing the Mountain View suites, and if you are up for a small hike it’s definitely a must-have experience. Sleeping Giant Rainforest Hotel exceeded my own expectations. If you are looking for a place to stay within the jungle of Belize this is the place to go.

This resort was absolute breathtaking and peaceful. This was our first stay (wife and I) and it was very relaxing. The resort offers a variety of nature experiences but we spent time admiring the beautiful scenery, pool and jacuzzi around the resort.
Our room was a king with a river view. Great A/C and Our clean room and bathroom was spacious with an outside bathtub and shower. Also we spent time on our a spacious balcony.
We enjoyed our dining experience; as well as the room service for our delicious meals. There was no television because it’s about getting back to nature which was much needed.
All the staff we encountered were professional and kind; eager to assist you. Definitely will visit again! Thank you!!!!

Clean comfortable room, AC worked perfectly. Wifi worked all around the main areas (room, restaurant, pool, and closer grounds). Pool is open 24 hours and we were often the only ones there. Restaurant was delicious, breakfast was our favorite. Wood fired pizzas were good and ready quickly. The menu is not expansive although there is a daily special each night. We spent less than $75 per person per day on 3 meals.

Onsite parking was plentiful, drive from airport to resort is easy and 100% paved.

Staff was very friendly and often engaged in conversation depending on our days events.
Did the onsite bird watching tour ($35US pp, min 2, super cheap) which we were told was 90 minutes but went 2 hours and even got a van ride back for breakfast. Bikes available to use on property, the trail is more work going away from the lodging than coming back which works nice when tired.

Highly recommend this property.

The only minor negative is vehicle noise from the main road and even that is not a constant thing.

This property is nestled inside its own private jungle. It's a very large, well kept property, with the rooms/cottages spread around so you have a good deal of privacy. There are only 20 rooms so it's not very busy and you often find yourself alone enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. They offer complimentary espresso machines, yoga mats, bicycles, paddle boards, and Kayaks. The pool is 24/7 and there are plenty of hikes nearby. They also offer tons of activities that you pay for separately.

The restaurant having incredible food was a major plus including a giant woodfire pizza oven (didn't come to Belize for Pizza but not going to say I didn't enjoy it).

I recommend picking up some fruit and hiking snacks on the way because they don't have any stores nearby. Each room has it's own filtered water machine.

The ONLY recommendation I’d have is to find a way to cover the tub so we don’t have to clean it out before each use. I wasn’t even able to use it during my time there. But the shower was great!

Absolutely beautiful property, unbeatable atmosphere. We also loved the pizza area for dining by the river with a bottle of wine. The \"Spa\" is not what I expected as it is almost impossible to get ahold of anyone to make an appointment and they basically just rubbed oil on you for an hour. That being said, the property cut the cost of our massages in half because I was not satisfied which was unexpected. Also be aware to make it very clear when you do not want to be disturbed because they tend to just unlock the door and walk in when you request something. Everything is done by whatsapp and no one says, we are on our way now or anything and my husband was pretty surprised when he was naked and they came in anyway.

We spent our honeymoon here and loved it. There is beautiful hikes, pool, river, and Mountain View’s everywhere you look. We arrived late and they left us flowers in our room. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was amazing! Already planning when we can go back. Beautiful location, friendly staff and surrounded by nature. We did the horseback riding tour with Cesar and really enjoyed it, all the horses were super well behaved and riding through the mountains was a dream come true.

This place was magical. My only recommendation would be to invest in an app that provides a map of the entire resort, this would make it easier to navigate the premises. The WiFi services could also be better, but I assume the point is to disconnect. All in all it was amazing.

We received a warm reception and a room upgrade during for our 3 nights stay. The location was ideal for either traveling West (Cayo) or South (Stann Creek). The property is gorgeously maintained. The room was absolutely lovely. Only complain was we had no hot water for showers a night and reported it. Front desk told me I shouldn't open the faucet all the way but it did not help. When I told them, it was like \"oh well\". The next morning, the water was still cold and I had to walk to reception, after which they sent someone. Turned out to be an electrical problem. We enjoyed a breakfast there and take away dinner. Both were good. It was so quiet and relaxing, with the sounds of nature and a small creek out front of the cottage. I would recommend this property and definitely stay there again.

What a lovely unique hotel. We absolutely loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer.
The only negative was it is far away from everything so your only dining choices are their 2 restaurants. The prices were very high for dining. The main restaurant I ordered shrimp and received 3 tiny shrimp for $44 usd.
The pizza place had excellent wood fired pizza! But each pizza was the size of a medium and was $34 usd each. There were 2 of us and we needed 2 pizzas as they are thin crust. So $68 usd for 2 medium pizzas. Yikes! Other than that the staff was beyond helpful and informative. Our room was huge with a very comfortable bed.

Tours were a little pricey so in all honesty, some we booked ourself. Loved our mayan cooking class and excursions through Upsidedown Tours, which the lodge introduced us to, hats off to them especially kevin and orlin!!
A beautiful stay. You won't be disappointed. They seem to have booking sales too, so check and see.

This place is absolutely amazing and even better than I expected! After one day at Sleeping Giant I was already planning a return trip. The rooms are beautiful and have AC strong enough to counteract the hot and humid jungle climate. Arguably even better than the rooms were the amazing grounds which had tons of activities - including kayaking, swimming in the river or at the gorgeous pool, hiking on trails through the jungle, walking across hanging bridges, horse back riding, climbing a giant tree house, and more. We were never bored and honestly struggled between whether to go on the excursions or to spend more time enjoying the property at the resort. With respect to dining, the food at both of the restaurants was fabulous every single meal. Everything we had was amazing and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegan and vegetarians options offered. Everyone at the resort was so incredibly friendly. There are so many people to thank for our excellent stay but we especially enjoyed talking to Eileen at the Grove and Dorris, who facilitated all of our excursions. In sum, I can't imagine a better place to stay!

This resort is breathtaking! We stayed in one of the river-view suites on the second floor. The AC worked very well and the views from the balcony were amazing. We saw many types of birds, frogs, lizards, and butterflies. There are many different hiking trails and free activities to do on-site. We took advantage of the kayaks and bikes available for use. The staff was very nice and inviting. Overall, a great experience!

Came on our honeymoon. Stayed at the mountainbiew suite. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of the rainforest. Hotel itself is very cool and has plenty of places to explore, walk around and things to see. I enjoyed the ducks and animals around. The suite was nothing short of magnificent. Very spacious with incredible views. The plunge pool was used on a regular basis. So easy to just wind down after an adventure or cool off for a bit. Something very easing to just rlax and hear the forest and its sounds. The hammock in the room was a game changer. I love hammocks. So swaying to the sounds of the jungle was the best. Nothing like morning coffee on the hammock. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff would always encourage and offer to bring anything we needed straight to our room. Especially fortunate since there are a lot of stairs leading to the mountanview suites. Great location to go to ATM caves or blue hole. The blue hole was one of our favorite stops. Its very close to the hotel. We rented a car and could make the afternoon trip. It was empty. With clear water and a nice dio with some fishes, which I enjoy. We also were fortunate to see a pack of howler monkeys above us. The ATM caves are also a must see. The hotel seemed enpty in the best way. We felt we had it all to ourselves, which my wife loved. Cannot recommend it enough.

What a beautiful place. We stayed in the Riverview suites with the plunge pool and it was a beautiful room. But for how much money we spent we were a little bit disappointed. We were given a baby crib that was broken. So we had to stuff pillows and blankets under the crib to prop it up so my son could have a proper sleep. We would order room service every night and the amount we were charged for a small grilled cheese sandwich or a small bowl of soup was ridiculous

This place is dreamy and so luscious. Starting with a mojito in the aerie of a restaurant bar, and hearing the sounds of water everywhere was a great start. There’s a half mile 500 ft ascent hike to a fantastic lookout and a gorgeous pool. The bed feels like sleeping in a cloud.

Loved the property and restaurant. Sherman and the horseback ride was the highlight! Stayed in room 3 Creekside. I would avoid that room, road just in front and back so it was noisy during day early evening and morning and faced parking lot. Would avoid that cottage. The staff was friendly and helpful but given it was fully booked we had no options.

A beautiful hotel with a poor management

The hotel itself is beautifully designed and the view is stunning. However, this hotel has a lot of rooms for improvement especially in the management and operations.
We had a Mountain View room but during booking process, nowhere was ever mentioned that you have to take almost 100 stairs up to get to your room. The hotel gave us the wrong key at check in and we had to go back 100 stairs down and back up to fetch our key. The guy at front desk didn’t even seem to sorry about it. He also messed up our breakfast order and delivered it to a different room while we were in hurry to eat breakfast and be ready on time for our tour.
By the way, there is no telephone or TV in the room and all correspondence are through Whatsapp messages which took them average of 20 minutes to reply if internet worked; given the fact that the internet was out half of the time during our stay.
This resort was super expensive too. So you automatically expect to receive a great food and services but the food was ok and average food you get anywhere else. I have to admit that the pizzeria was good and their food was delicious.
Anyway this resort was unreasonably expensive. For comparison, Alaia Resort and Naïa Resort are much cheaper and you will get way better food and experience for the money you spend.
