Amazing gem during your visit to the falls

Amazing gem wow! I didn't have any expectations for this hotel as I just needed a 1 night stay to visit the falls but it impressed me so much! Really liked the lobby area and whole cosiness of the hotel. Amazing female receptionist working on 1 Apr morning (I didn't get her name) but she spoke english and had great service. The room is very clean and had a great bathroom with good water pressure, toilet paper was by sheets instead of a roll and there's a Bidet gun. There is also a safe and fridge. The surrounding is nothing much except for the mall. Also, the breakfast had an amazing large spread with lots of food varieties. The whole decor of the hotel seems to be Italian theme, hence the hotel name. Highly recommended!

Rooms on the back (main building above reception and the breakfast area ) are very noise.
If you are placed in a room facing the pool, the air conditioners and the pool filtering system will make your night sleep impossible. It's not only the noise from the air conditioner, it's the vibrations that are bad.
These rooms should be tested for acceptable noise levels by the health authorities.

Rooms on front , you will hear all the street noise and traffic.

There is no central air conditioning so ea h room has its own air-conditioned placed outside and if you turn off yours, you can hear the noise from the other room air conditioner and because these units are very old, they are super noise as well.

Rooms are very basic but OK for
a short stay.

They do not offer filtered water so you can refill your water bottles.

I loved in the hotel everything was about Italy, decorations, even the music and food options during breakfast. Room was confortable with everything you need.
As Iguazu weather was nice, we did not need to use the air conditioner. I will recommend them to add a mesh window. This may save energy and customers may feel more comfortable.
Deep washing in some bedding items will add better confort and cleanliness feeling to customers.

Nice hotel with pretty good facilities, but rather let down by its immediate surroundings. Stayed here towards the end of a 6 week trip and the room didn't give us much space to put down luggage and store/sort through our things.
Pretty decent breakfast with a wide choice. Pool was a pleasant bonus and staff generally helpful.

Great staff

I only stayed two nights for visiting Iguaçu Falls. I arrived late morning and was able to check in. Concierge arranged a trip for that afternoon to the Brazilian Falls and to the Argentinian side the following day. The hotel isn’t luxurious but rather quite traditional yet fully functional. The staff were brilliant.

Hotel was very good value for money. Breakfast was quite good and restaurant / bar including itlian night very good. wifi was very reliable.
The hotel is a little bit dated and could do with some modernisation including the fitness room. the room was a little bit noisy.
There is a fridge which is amply stocked although the lack of tea and coffee facilities was a disappointment for me.
Overal exceptional value for money but could make a few improvements to improve the saty

A good experience on the Brazilian side of Iguazú

A really nice hotel, a little dated but had character. Bar was good. The little cafe at the side was really good and not promoted enough. Breakfast was what you’d expect. Room was comfortable, bathroom had a good shower.

Convenient to downtown, next door to the mall, taxi stand, and tour agency. Staff were very helpful, and most spoke some English. Breakfast buffet was huge, a little of everything, free, and reasonably good. The room was a little small, but the balcony and VERY comfortable bed made up for it. Free WiFi was a bit slow and not great signal, but that may have been because I was on the far corner of the building. All in all, I would highly recommend this place.

They had me at 'buffet breakfast'...

Go just for the food! The buffet breakfast and the attached Italian restaurant were both amazing. The hotel was comfortable,, staff were excellent and most spoke very good English. A tour company in the foer as well as a friendly shop that sold souvenirs at good prices and, importantly for me, an inexpensive adaptor for my laptop.

Tried this hotel on a whim and was not disappointed. It was comfortable, and is only 1 block from the JL Cataratas Shopping mall.
Shopping in Paraguay can be arranged theu the travel next door as well as to the falls. Food at the restaurant was quite good as well

Very happy with stay

We had flown from Buenos Aires to Iguazu airport / Argentina side. We booked a Remise car to bring us straight across the border to check in to Hotel Bella.
We then went to Iguazu Falls / Brazil side and we stayed one night at the hotel. Hotel was close to the Falls. We paid the Taxi from the Falls back to the hotel in US$13 as we didn't change any Brazilian currency.
We had a nice dinner in the hotel. The breakfast spread was excellent. Such a wide choice !
I couldn't charge my Handphone in the bedroom and I went to the Front Desk and they lent me an adaptor. Very helpful staff. Reception staff all spoke English.

Clean and Safe -- nothing fancy

This hotel is in serious need of updating - that being said, for the price, it was clean and I felt completely safe there. I was disappointed in the location -- the only place you can really walk to for dinner is the Mall and the staff not very helpful in providing alternatives for dining, other than their own on site restaurant which we found to be very disappointing.

Good Option with a Great Breakfast

My husband, my sister and I stayed at Bella Italia in January, 2015 and found the hotel quite adequate. The room was comfortable if rather basic, one of the front desk staff was very helpful and was able to converse very well in English with us (unfortunately for us, the majority of the staff didn't speak English and we didn't have much grasp of Portuguese), and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we had during our time in Brazil. The complimentary airport pick-up was also nice. The location of the hotel worked well for us, too - the proximity to a large local mall was useful for snacks and a quick meal, and we could easily walk the approximately ten minute walk to the local bus station to catch the bus to the Falls, the airport, and to the Argentine side of the Falls as well. The tour company in the lobby provided day excursions to the Falls but we opted to find our own way and managed quite well via the local bus system.

Excellent value for visitors to the falls

The hotel is neat, clean, affordable, and quiet. Staff is friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The decor is a bit dated, worn, and dark, but you don't spend much time in your room when you are out exploring Iguacu Falls. Breakfast is bountiful and the evening meal was reasonably priced with a good choice of entrees. It is also only a 5 minute walk to the mall that has a food court and a variety of shops. I would stay there again and recommend it to my friends who are looking for a comfortable, safe hotel that is reasonably priced. Definitely a good value.

Over all its a good hotel

The hotel is very nice and comfortable , The hotel offers a shuttle service from/to the airport-saves money and very nice.

One thing that I didn't like is the fitness center , it is very old and neglected.

Tip: There is a taxi station outside the hotel , you can use them and not the tourist company to go to the attraction and save some money and time

Everything was good. Room a little dated but clean and tidy. Very good buffet breakfast. Evening buffet in the restaurant was also extremely good and great value compared to other places we visited in Brazil. Tour desk was really useful and the staff were helpful to organize outings and transfers to the falls etc. Good shopping mall a short walk away, with pharmacy, supermarket, ATMs etc.

Great Service!

The hotel arranged fro our rides from and to the airport. At the airport the driver was waiting for us with my name on a sign. The room was a little small, but exceptionally clean. There was a very large breakfast buffet included in our rate. There is a large shopping center and grocery store a block away, but other than that, there are not many restaurants close by.

The location of the hotel was a long walk to the center of town. Room was comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable for two. The shower was good. Some staff spoke English or Spanish. Booking tours at the hotel was excellent as a tour operator rep is located in the hotel and spoke many languages. Pick up and drop off at the hotel for tours to the falls on both sides of the border. Excellent shopping mall located close to the hotel. The Restaurant and Cafe meals were very good.

They have in lobby good tourist service,provide English, Portuguese tours. In the walking distance you can find a big shopping center with grocery store, restaurants and cafes. Great travel desk, great front desk, next to mall

Deisa in the front desk was a great help. She resolved a problem with our tour of the Itaipu Dam. Lucas at the travel desk quickly arranged all transportation to fit our needs. The transportation was on time exactly, every time. There was a large shopping mall two blocks away with a big food court and supermarket. The location was at the centre of the falls, the Itaipu Dam and the bridge to Argentina. There is a taxi stand in front of the hotel and the bus terminus was a few blocks away. It was excellent in all aspects.

The hotel was even better than I expected. It had a great atmosphere and ambiance. The staff was quite good, but lacked a bit of professionalism. The room was spotless and the cleaning staff was great. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean and well laundered. The hotel is conveniently tucked away just off the main streets, but still within walking distance of the city center, bus stops, restaurants, banks, etc. It was in a quiet area in a semi-residential area. The continental breakfasts were amazing! I would gladly recommend it to family and friends and I hope to return there again some day.

After reading the reviews I knew the rooms would not be anything special. They were about what I expected and worked for what I was looking for - which was a one night stay. I could hear everything that was going on in the neighborhood (dogs/cars/etc). There were more English tv channels than I have found in other hotels in Brazil. The free airport shuttle was nice. The staff attempted to be helpful but did not seem to know much about how to get to the falls. The breakfast was ok. After reading reviews I thought that the breakfast would be the highlight of the stay - it was not. It had plenty of selections but many of the selections were bread and cereals. The hotel is close to a bus stop (across the street) and a mall (a block away). I ate at the grocery store in the mall and can not comment on the restaurant at the hotel.

Not a Hilton, but a very nice, clean place to stay. Staff was plesant, food quality was excellent. Didn't care much for the Turistic options provided by an outside company located inside the hotel (basically, all they provide is an expensive form of transportation to most visited places. I found the local taxists where more affordable and more personal). Back to hotel: Roons .are clean and confortable. Ddon't expect the luxuries we usually see in American's hoteis, but for the Brazilian standards, it is very good. I do recommend. Staff are pleasant and will help you if needed. Disappointed only with fact that hotel provided transportation from airport to hotel but denied transportation back to airport; although, the requests were made upon purchase. If staying in the area, one must attend their all Italian feast on Saturdays. Lovely event and a must for the Italian food lovers. If I was to rate the hotel: 4 stars based on Brasilian standard. 3 stars based on American standards. Hope it helps :)

We stayed two nights. The location is good and the overall hotel is quite acceptable. Nothing luxiorious, but clean rooms and helpful staff.

Our main issue is that the hotel isn't really equipped to handle vegetarians. Except for breakfast, none of the restaurants have vegatarian dishes that are not salad. Eventually the reception helped us order a pizza so we could have dinner.

Good selection to visite Fozz de Iguasu

It is a good place to stay Fozz de Iguazu. The hotel has good location and good services, you can find a tour office in the same hotel. I suggest contact to the hotel before your travel. The transportation is less expensive (20 reales) from the airport to the hotel if you do the reservation at the hotel, taxis at the airport is 45 reales.

Quite comfortable with decent restaurant

We had just two nights at Hotel Bella Italia and were out enjoying the Falls all day each day. It was really nice to come back to a clean, comfortable room ... more than adequate for three of us. The bathroom counter space was small - especially for three people sharing, but the shower was great. We had no chance to check out other amenities (I gave it a 3 rating only because a rating was required) but ate at the restaurant the second night. The food was mostly quite good.

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were superior in kindness and helpfulness. The room was barely passable, less comfort than a motel 6, but the breakfast was amazing. We took tours directly from the hotel and we were pleased with them. We liked being across from the shopping mall so we could easily eat and get cash.

This hotel was great! I would recommend this place to anyone especially Americans who want to visit Iguacu Falls and do not speak Portuguese. The hotel staff was excellent and most spoke very good English. Loumar tours has a desk in the lobby and can arrange tours to anywhere in the area. Amazing value, great service, great restaurant! Highly recommended!

Reception staff needs improvement in attitude

Overal the hotel is a nice one, specially the food in the restaurant. Room decent and clean.
Good and conviniant service for sightseeing in the lobby. Pretty well organized and efficient.

However, too much noise from kids jumping and screaming around and apart from the children the average age was above 60.
Even though the hotel manager was understanding and nice, the male reception staff attitute was extremely obnoxious and unprofessional. Felt offended.

Sockets loose in bathroom and lightfitting next to bed loose.
Minimal storage space in bedroom.
Restaurant not user friendly if not a portugese speaker. Waiters coming round with additional dishes with no explanation.
We felt safe in the hotel but my wife was uncomfortable in Foz after dark.

not quite worth it...

This hotel was a 3 star hotel or more i think when i booked it.. as an avid traveler this is not a 3 star hotel... i will give it 2. the beds are very old, think coin operated vibrating, yeah, and while the hotel is relatively clean, it is not to par. the breakfast buffet left me walking to the mall abt 2 blocks where i happily ate at the grocery store. the location is nice in that the mall is close and has a pharmacy and grocers. also the public bus station is close 1mile, which allows you access to local attractions and one block further is a public transport to argentina. my other issue is that the hotel never once recognized my multiple requests for airport service which is supposed to be free upon arrival. thus the 45 reales taxi i took added to the lackluster 3 star effort. the overal hotel staff was friendly, and knowing what i know now, if the rates were lower i would stay again. thanks

Not worth the price

Good hotel, but not worth the price. Room are a bit old and lacking some potential comfort. For less you can stay in other hotels with better rooms.

The only spectacular thing is gastronomy: Italian night at Wednesdays and Saturdays and the huge option in the breakfast, but the Italian night isn't included in the stay and you can go there and have your dinner regardless of staying there.

Good Hotel for exploring Iguasu

The hotel is at the edge of town near a shopping centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had booked return journey to the airport for the beginning and end of my stay - through a company brokered by Expedia. Despite agreeing 1.30pm pick up to the airport, the driver never showed up and had switched off his mobile. The hotel, realising my predicament immediately organised immediate, free transport to the airport and I caught my plane.
The breakfasts are very well done with an impressive spread to suit all tastes (although the coffee tasted of instant). The food in the restaurant, however, really is not up to much - certainly not for an chic Italian.
In the foyer they have a very organised and friendly excursions desk from which I very quickly organised my trips to both sides of the dam, the bird park, a helicopter ride and a guided tour of the dam.
The room was perfectly adequate and clean with all the ussual.

the only good thing about this hotel was breakfast; room is terrible simle( like in a 1 or 2 star motel); recommendations from a staff member about a restaurant was extremely misleading( he made the recommendation without ever being in that reastaurant). I would not recommend this hotel

Nice hotel in Foz de Iguazzu

Positive - great breakfast, free internet, location near to a shopping mall where we could get stuffs, clean room, complimentary airport pick up, attentive staffs
For improvement - internet strength could be better in room, 15 minutes walk to the bus station

Good choice for Igaussu Falls

We were on a two day visit of Igaussu Falls, so we wanted a convenient hotel with good visitor services. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. We arrived early in the morning and they had a room ready for us (with free airport pickup). Within an hour of our arrival, we had set up our two day touring schedule with the in house tour dest and were on our way on the first tour. That's efficient. We had (on purpose) not made any advance reservations and they were not needed.
This hotel has a great breakfast (included), free internet (which was quirky) and is close to a full service shopping mall (with food court). The staff was helpful and used to handling the tourist visiting the falls so could anticipate and answer question regarding the Falls with ease (do I want to visit the Argentinian side?).

Decent, safe hotel

The hotel provided a decent breakfast that was included in the bill. The beds were twin size, but were not uncomfortable. Bathroom was decent size. Indoor air-conditioner worked well. The staff could speak English and were helpful in scheduling rides to the hotel. And the hotel was nicely kept.

There are other hotels closer to Iguazu, but many are not in great condition (unless you stay at the hotel IN the park) This hotel is a longer drive, but fairly nice on the inside, has good breakfast and a couple of dining options for dinner, but the surrounding neighborhood leaves much to be desired.

Excellent choice, but ask for a room that does not face the road

The place is old, but very well maintained, the rooms are so big, you could fit 2 rooms of an average hotel. The people were very helpful and the restaurant was much better than expected.

In order to get internet access free of charge, lmake sure you let them know that you booked through Expedia.

excellent hotel. very accomodating. some of the clerks spoke english and were very helpful. the breakfast, which is included each day, is very good. Not far from the waterfall, triple boarder and the hydroelectric plant. excellent choice for any nationality traveler.

A good value and quite convenient.

The hotel is located in the city center of Foz do Iguacu (town on the Brazilian side). Foz do Iguacu is actually a big city with about 300,000 people so hardly a town. There are probably some newer, poshier resorts on the outskirts of town although those probably cost a bit more money and are probably a bit out of the way unless all you plan to do is stay at the resort. This hotel was a short walk away from a very large and modern shopping mall. It was pretty neat to see a Brazilian mall. The \"supermarket\" there was quite fascinating to walk through to see the merchandise and the prices. There was a very neat flower store right around the corner from the hotel that made for interesting browsing and had some nice gifts to purchase as well. Also, within walking distance was Avenida Brasil that had a lot of shops. The free breakfast buffet at the hotel had quite a lot of selections and was quite good. The service was very good and the front desk staff was very helpful and most spoke English. The hotel is on the older side but had its charm. I saw some larger, and they looked newer, resorts on the outskirts of town on the way to the falls that looked nicer but thinking they cost more money and there is little around them if you want to go for a walk. This hotel was very convenient. For the price I paid, it was of very excellent value.

Nothing special.

Check-in wasn't bad once I switched to a front desk person that knew a bit of english. A few people there knew a bit but many did not. One time room service worked well. Another time, no one around spoke english and I got something completely different. I don't blame them for this since this is Brazil. Just thought I'd note for other english-only speaking travelers. The room was pretty small. Beds are done in the normal European style. If you ask for a king, they put two twins together. Having a refrigerator in the room was nice but had to remove some of the minibar stock to use. Also, the inside of the fridge had a bad odor. The wooden floors were a bit dirty so I couldn't really just wear socks in the room. The breakfast buffet was a pretty nice spread. Overall, the place was not anything special. If this were a hotel in, say, the US, I would have knocked down the ratings a bit. You may want to look elsewhere if you want something more along the standards of American mid level or higher hotel standards.

excellent value

The hotel is in the good part of the city. About 20 min from the Brazilian side of the falls. Very nice staff. Clean rooms. Nice breakfast buffet. Free parking, wifi and outdoor pool.
Car rental highly recommended if you want to get max out of your stay. Do both the Brazilian and Argentinian side.
