We have stayed at this hotel once before 2 yrs ago, & we’re so impressed by it, we actually amended our road trip route in order to incorporate a stay here. However, this time we were left rather disappointed. The food here was excellent last time, so we planned on eating there this time, but less than 72 hrs before our stay, I received an email telling us that there was a large party/meeting for the evening of our stay, so the restaurant would be closed to the rest of the guests. No suggestions were given as to where we could go to eat instead,
And at breakfast the following morning, the dining room had been left with most of the individual tables left pushed together, to form banquet style seating for the ore ious nights party. These tables were not made up for breakfast, & there were only 3 tables for 2, which were set up. So people were having to sit in the ends of the huge banquet tables. It all felt abit like as a paying guest, we were not given any sort of service at all.

Check in was fine and room was clean, kitchen was a nice touch, facilities were well maintained & there was a convenient shop over the road.

The car park was full on arrival, but we were told we could park outside until 9:30am in the 30 minute area.

Pool was out of commission and WiFi didn't work from 11pm until when we checked out.

Weren't given our drinks voucher.

Honestly? Would be expecting monetary compensation as half of what was promised wasn't delivered. Complained to the staff to reception several times, and they didn't seem to care. I asked if I could use the alternate WiFi as the guest one wasn't working and I was told that wasn't for guests.

Didn't have breakfast as had read previous reviews that weren't particularly positive.

As others have mentioned before, if arriving by car, use the parking by the church. Its free between 18.00 and 09.00 and far cheaper and easier to access than the mercure underground parking (€15).

Not what it promises

In the last leg of our driving holiday, I specifically chose a Mercure hotel as we were going to be driving for 7/8 hours and I wanted a hotel I could trust to give us quality rest. I found the Mercure Hun-Sur hotel, made sure it had a restaurant, as our intention was to have a drink and a meal and go to sleep. An hour after I booked, I received an email saying that the restaurant will be closed. This upset our plans but the same email said there will be bar food available, which was fine for us. Unfortunately, once checked in we were informed that the bar food wasn’t available either. Not only that, they couldn’t even prepare a cheese platter or a sandwich for us. To add insult to injury, there were no eateries open in the village which meant we had to get back in the car and drive to another town, which was the least thing we wanted to do at that time. Because of this distress caused at a time when we needed rest and calm, I respectfully ask that I’m refunded the price of the room which was charged to my card.

If it wasn't for a very minimal breakfast I'd rate this hotel higher, but the breakfast might come as a disappointment. It was hard for the team to cope with the fully booked property as utensils, coffee cups, clean plates were almost missing half an hour before closing.
The variety of hot meals was also very basic.

On the other hand it is absolutely fantastic for a hotel to have EV charging points in the garage. Thank you for that.

Nice hotel stay ruined by poor dining experience

Nice hotel in the centre of Han sur Lesse, about 19 minutes walk from the caves / animal park complex. As the car park was already full we were told we should simply find a space on the street and move the car the next morning by 8am when street parking would be charged again.
The low point of our one night stay though was dinner: although food was nice the service was amongst the worst I have ever experienced. Two hours for a two-course dinner (starter and main), including being asked halfway through if we were ready for dessert when we had been waiting for an hour for our main course; then being given the wrong food. And not a word of apology for the chaos throughout, or even a glance from the staff. I’d like to think this was a one-off due to staff being (or looking) untrained but I would not be willing to try again

The property is new and the room we had was well laid out for family with kids. When walking in there is a nook with bunk beds. The a small kitchen and the a queen bed. Only downside was that ac did not work and the removed parking charge to address this inconvenience. Keep in mind that many of the restaurants closed their kitchen at 1830. The hotel kitchen was not open at all.

GREAT PPROPERTY AND VILLAGE! Staeyd here instead of Rochefort and was very pleased. Modern location with great service and staff. Clean, nice pool, good bar and restaurant. A/C, great bathroom. Location is awesome in this small little jewel of a village that has just enought quality cafes and brasseries.

Check-in and out are a bottleneck. Which is not interesting in Corona times. This should go much more fluently.
We couldn't eat in the hotel, so we had to find some take away. In the morning, due to covid-rules, we had to eat breakfast in our room. Luckily there was a table to eat. Only, we didn't have enough bread, and when I went down to get some, we couldn't have a baguette, which my son would really have prefered.
The hotel is very new (smells new). It was my most expensive hotel ever and it was the first time there was no possibility to drink tea in the room. This should be really there ! I didn't drink something hot for two days, because you can't go to a café to drink this at the moment. This should improve as well as the check-in and check-out. We took this hotel because it has a swimming pool, which we couldn't use due to covid-regulations.

Séjour de 3 nuits dans cet hotel agréable à proximité des grottes de Han. Accueil juste correct, on a eu l'impression de déranger la personne qui ne nous a pas aider pour le stationnement (seulement 30 min en face) alors qu'il est possible de se stationner à proximité (terrain de tennis à moins de 100m). Pas de serviette, pas de casier pour la piscine, l'ascenseur a été défaillant dès le 2e jour et non réparer, il faut donc passer par l'accueil en maillot de bain et laisser le local ouvert pour que les gens puissent aller et venir ce qui rend le local très frais en soirée. Le 2e jour nous sommes revenu à 17h à l'hotel que nous avions quitté à 9h après la visite des grottes et du parc animalier, notre chambre n'était pas nettoyée... 20 appels vers la réception sans réponse, idem avec le numéro extérieur, j'ai fini par faire un mail où l'on m'a dit que ma demande était prise en compte sans même s'excuser. C'est très surprenant pour ce type d'hotel d'avoir qu'une personne qui fasse l'accueil, le bar et la réception ! Le petit déjeuner est copieux avec de bons produits , dommage que le proseco servit le dimanche ne soit pas là en semaine. Au final je dirai que vu le prix j'attendais plus de cet hôtel, néanmoins le séjour était agréable eu égard à l'emplacement et à l'environnement. De nombreuses choses à améliorer pour le rendre plus agréable.

Het schoonmaken van kamer en badkamer liet te wensen over. Je moest het personeel aanspreken of je nieuwe handdoeken mocht, wc papier was bijna op geen nieuwe rol terwijl er altijd 2 rollen staan, vloer kamer werd niet schoongemaakt terwijl er zooi lag, bij de wc was de zeep op. Ik was er maar mee opgehouden dingen te melden.
Erg jammer vorig jaar was stuk beter dan dit jaar.
Parkeren €18,- voor 24 uur maar als je eruit gaat en weer terug kom betaal je weer €18,- waardoor het op de straat €11,50 per dag een stuk goedkoper is dan parkeergarage van Mercury

De familiekamer voldeed prima en er ontbrak niets. Helaas hadden de bovenburen een actief kind dat je steeds heen en weer hoorde rennen. Verder geen last gehad van de overige buren. Er waren voldoende handdoeken aanwezig, wat erg handig was vanwege het zwembad.
Het zwembad was wel gehorig, het water zag er niet echt fris uit en rook sterk naar chloor.

Vanwege de drukte tijdens het hoogseizoen waren er tijdsloten bij het ontbijt. Tijdens de tweede lichting van het ontbijt was het chaotisch, er waren geen bekers, borden en bestek meer. Alles van het uur daarvoor zat nu in de vaatwasser en het personeel kon het maar moeilijk aan om het weer aan te vullen. Er werden zelfs schalen als borden gebruikt.
Er ontbrak een logische indeling bij de flow van het buffet en er was te weinig personeel voor de aan- en afvoer van het servies en schoonmaken van de tafels.

Verder viel het mij op dat er maar één persoon bij de receptie zat en er een lange rij ontstond tijdens het inchecken. Had je na het inchecken nog een korte vraag, dan was er geen andere optie dan opnieuw in de lange rij te gaan staan.

L’hôtel est très agréable et le village charmant.
Belle terrasse avec une chouette piscine. Personnel sympa et arrangeant.
Les chambres avec des cuisines sont un vrai plus.
Certains espaces communs sont un peu vieillissants (couloirs avec la peinture qui s’écaille…) et la chambre avait un peu de poussières et des toiles d’araignée sur les abats jours. Mais la propreté générale reste très bonne !

Het was een hele fijne accommodaties lekker dichtbij de bezienswaardigheden. En ook dichtbij de andere mooie plaatsjes zolas dinant en la roche an arden.
Het enige wat iets minder was was het water van het zwembad. Erg troebel en koud.
Een ander puntje toen we gezellig een avond op het buiten terras gingen zitten. Zagen we allemaal wespen nesten aan het dak hangen wel een stuk of 6. En uitgerekend bij ons kwam er een flinke hoornaar goede dag zeggen. We keken waar die heen vloog na een landing op onze tafel. En vloog recht op een van de wespennesten af.
Maar we hebben verder wel een super verblijf gehad.
We hadden een familiekamer waar we iedere ochtend lekker zelf broodjes konden bakken.

Des gnocchis a 24 e ... C est hors de prix.

Il faut ramener de chez vous , claquettes ou tongs, et serviettes de plage ..
Car il n' y a ni peignoir, ni claquettes ou tongs a l hôtel, ni vestiaires a la douche ..
Si vous descendez habiller pour allez a la piscine, arrivé en bas , vous n avez plus qu a remonter....
On a du y allez pieds nue dans le couloir et dans l ascenseur...
Dommage.

Feedback voor Mercury Hotel in de Ardennen

Bij aankomst waren we onder de indruk van het prachtige hotel en de schitterende locatie, midden in de natuur en dichtbij allerlei bezienswaardigheden. De ontvangst door het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam en we werden goed begeleid bij zaken zoals parkeren en andere praktische vragen.

Toch vielen al snel kleine details op die tot irritaties leidden. Zo werd onze kamer niet schoongemaakt door een foutje, wat meteen een minpunt was. Het aantal handdoeken dat beschikbaar was, was niet voldoende, wat voor ons niet prettig was. Daarnaast waren veel faciliteiten gesloten of werkten niet, waardoor we op feestdagen genoodzaakt waren verder van het hotel weg te rijden om iets te ondernemen.

Het ontbijt was eveneens een gemengd verhaal. Hoewel er qua keuzes een redelijk aanbod was, waren de hygiënische details, zoals vieze borden en kopjes, storend. Het voelde alsof hier niet voldoende aandacht aan werd besteed.

Het hotel heeft alles in huis om een prachtig en toonaangevend verblijf te zijn in de regio. Maar het ontbrak aan aandacht voor de details, en juist die maken een groot verschil. Simpele zaken zoals het tijdig schoonmaken van kamers, voldoende handdoeken voorzien en meer aandacht voor hygiëne zouden al veel verbeteren.

Wat betreft het personeel: over het algemeen was het team vriendelijk en behulpzaam, maar we merkten dat er bij kamermeisjes soms een minder positieve houding was als we extra verzoeken hadden (handdoek).

Mooie locatie voor een bezoek aan de grotten van Han. Hotel was keurig verzorgd. Ontbijt goed. Veel opties, voor ieder wat wils.
Jammer was dat we de temperatuur niet lager kregen dan 16 graden: warm ‘s nachts! Ook waren de matrassen vrij hard. Daarnaast vond ik het een minpuntje dat er weinig parkeergelegenheid bij het hotel zelf was, maar net over de brug kon je gratis parkeren langs de kant van de weg.

It's a beautiful room, bathroom and swimming pool. Front desk staff is very friendly!
Only bad thing I have to say is that you only get 2 towels and there are no towels at the swimming pool? Very strange. Also good to know: there are no bathrobes or slippers. It's a very standard room. Also do not expect a lot from the airconditioning. A lot of functions are blocked and we were really hot through the night.

Net hotel met onderbezetting.

Kamer was prima. Ontbijt viel tegen, d.w.z we moesten een tijds blok reserveren. Hier was echter geen controle op. 1e ochtend bizar druk bij ontbijt, geen tafel meer beschikbaar dus in de lobby plaats moeten nemen. ( waar de stoelen sfeervol staan maar bizar oncomfortabel zitten)Tijds blok heeft dus geen meerwaarde; of gasten komen wanneer het uitkomt omdat er geen controle op is, of er wordt bij inchecken niet op gelet of een tijds blok overvol raakt….Personeel deed hun best maar door onderbezetting konden ze niet alles tijdig aanvullen. De 2e ochtend zijn we later gegaan en toen verliep het voor ons beter.
Wat betreft de schoonmaak van de kamer;Bij aankomst keurig schoon maar tijdens verblijf werd hoognodige gedaan. Schone handdoeken en bedden recht getrokken maar vloer bleef vies en een vlek/kring op kastje was ook niet weggepoetst.
Ambiance is sfeervol.

Séjour OK mais trop cher pour ce que c'est

Séjour pas à la hauteur d'un 4 étoiles. Première mauvaise surprise : la climatisation ne fonctionne pas, et ce depuis des mois d'après les avis, mais il faut aller réclamer un ventilateur pour être au courant et ils annoncent que c'est depuis quelques jours et bientôt réparé, alors que non. Il fait donc extrêmement chaud dans les chambres, mais cela dépend de l'étage apparemment. La piscine n'est pas chauffée, même si c'est indiqué cela est faux, et l'air froid donc difficile d'y rester. La chambre est nettoyée globalement mais il y a des toiles d'araignées au plafond, les vitres sont pleines de poussières.. Ajoutez l'impossibilité de prendre un petit déjeuner uniquement pour un jour du séjour, un parking payant mais complet. Bref, pour le prix, ce n'est pas à la hauteur.

Fijn verblijf gehad. Bedden waren wel wat aan de harde kant en de bar in de lobby sloot vrij vroeg (al om 22.00). Verder een topverblijf gehad! Heerlijk ontbijt, fijne sfeer en vriendelijke medewerkers.

Het is een mooi hotel en zeer goed gelegen om de streek en de grotten te verkennen. Ontbijt was goed. Zwembad was ook goed maar te weinig stoelen. Kamer was niet helemaal voorzien voor 4 qua handdoeken en servies. Al bij al was het zeker ok voor in het hoogseizoen.

Les chambres classiques font à peine 18m2 au lieu de 22 m2 , soit 4 m2 en moins et j’ai mesuré. Le frigo ne fonctionnait pas et je l’ai signalé à la première heure. Rien n’a été fait en 3 jours. La chambre est très propre mais un vrai clapier à lapins. Il n’y a pas de bureau pour travailler , à peine une petite planchette pour y poser la machine à café.
Pour le prix c’est excessivement cher.

Ideaal voor een weekendje met het gezin

We hebben een aangenaam verblijf gehad in het Mercure hotel. De familiekamer is ideaal voor een gezin. Grote, open kamer, maar toch enige afscherming tussen de twee bedden zodat je als ouder nog naar tv kan kijken wanneer de kinderen gaan slapen. Vriendelijke service en propere kamers. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid en lekker. Ideaal hotel voor een weekendje weg. Het zwembad zorgt voor een mooi alternatief voor de kinderen bij slecht weer.

1ère chambre, pas de climatisation, 2ème chambre pas de tv, 3ème chambre pas de cafetière. A l arrivée dans la 1ère j'ai attendu je me suis dit que la clim allée fonctionner. Eh bien non. J'ai appris que le pb était à tout l étage. 2ème encore un pb.
Bon vers 22h30.ouf.
Avant de donner une chambre, il serait judicieux de vérifier que tout fonctionne. Et même pas un geste commercial.
Bon c'est pas la première fois que je vais dans cette hôtel et tout s était bien passé.
