I enjoyed my stay in New Harmony. The town is quiet and quaint, and a nice place to relax. The staff at the New Harmony Inn was friendly and helpful. My room and the hotel building itself where I stayed were a little old and a little bit in disrepair. But it was also clean and quiet. Overall, my stay was a very pleasant experience.

A girlfriend and I just took a one night trip because we had heard so much about NEW Harmony.. there was absolutely nothing going on and only five or six shops open on the one square… We had dinner at red Gardenia, which was pleasant/outdoor seating in a trio band… Our stay at the hotel was perfect. Everything was clean and comfortable. I would suggest going to the area when there is a big festival, though… The homes and architecture kind of remind me of New Orleans or Saint Augustine… Super cute super small and it was perfect for one night trip… they are on Central time (same state, 3 hrs south…..which nobody mentioned nor did we happen to notice with our clocks and were
an hour late getting home ti an appointment, but now we know…

A lovely facility in a lovely location. I cannot repeat that often enough. However, one of the outside security doors which supposedly needed a room key to open was unlocked throughout my stay. Also one guest's pet dog yapped for several minutes at different times during the night. Finally, the office is in an entirely separate building from the inn, and figuring that out can be a challenge for a first-time guest.

It was a little hard to find the registration building at first, there is just a small sign on the side of the road running parallel where the pull off parking is. But the check in was quick and efficient, the little property map was so helpful to find my building/room. Despite being an older location they have done some work to make sure there were enough electrical plugs for all our tech to charge. Bed was comfortable. I did not try the pool (didn't have time) but the location was intriguing and I wanted to check out the sauna but the 1 night I had I was so tired from exploring. You can easily walk to almost everything in town and there are always bikes and golf carts you can rent. It was a very peaceful, relaxing, informative stay and I've already recommended it to friends and coworkers.

We had problems with the keycards and the door mechanism. There wasn’t enough staff to help us with the problem or even come to the room to check it out. The pool area was pretty poor shape. The town and the food was wonderful.

When I checked in, I found that my reservation for three nights had been changed. My final night's reservation had been dropped. The desk clerk found another room for the third night, but I would need to check out, then check back in. Because I was going to be extremely busy during my stay, this would be very inconvenient. But the hotel was the only one in the town. After the second night, I moved my belongings to my car, then checked back in later. At this point, I was told that I had two rooms reserved. The clerk fixed the problem, but I was inconvenienced by the move.
In addition, on the first night I received a phone call very late, from the front desk, asking if I still planned to check in to my reserved room. I was already asleep at that time, and had checked in hours before.
Although the accommodations were very nice, the inefficiencies caused stress and extra work for me.
I'll not stay at this hotel again.

Yes. Beautiful place. I did however think all rooms either had a balcony or patio. I requested a upgrade. I understand its a \"request\". There wasnt many people here so i felt like it couldve been fulfilled in some way. Our bed had a weak board under it. Causing bed to sink in on one side. I tried calling front desk and no answer. I walked to front desk and saw that there was no staff from 11pm-7am but provided a number to call. I didnt feel like it was an important issue so i was unable to let them know. Still is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Highly recommended and would stay again.

A strange and jolting clatter issued from the heating unit every 45 minutes. Sound like a waiter dropping a tray intermittently all night long. It was a rough night of sleep. The hotel is usually great but not this time. And of course, when you book through hotels.com, the hotel itself and reimburse you anything. Instead of blaming the hotel, this may be the death knell of my use of hotels.com

This is an older facility but in generally good condition. Hair dryer in my bath did not work, and staff person who handled check-in and checkout was not particularly friendly. Walls are rather thin, which disturbed my quietude when I could hear people in the hallway and in the next room. Even so, I am not sorry I chose to stay at this facility for a weekend retreat.

No breakfast is offered at this time, and I could not get the coffee maker in the room to work, which was a big problem for someone who likes to sit around and contemplate for a while. Another issue, which the front desk tried to help with, was no cell phone service through my not-at-all-obscure carrier. This is the first time ever I rated the Inn less than stellar, but it seems to me to be slipping. I also was disappointed that the little chapel off the lounge in the entry building was filled with furniture and not accessible to me; also there was no reason for the lounge not to be open to guests since the people who occupied it were few and could have been accommodated elsewhere.

The room and hallways were clean but the hallways smelled musty and the furniture in hallways was sorely in need of updating. The ice machine was in the basement which appeared to be where cleaning and maintenance equipment was stored. Odd. The grounds were not as well maintained as when we were there in 2022. It is a very serene and quiet location, love the area and town. Very peaceful but property in general needs an update.

The bathroom was not clean, there were long black hairs on the floor and in the shower. TV did not work. Coffee machine with coffee but no creamers or sugars. Beds uncomfortable and you can feel every spring. Sensors on the pillows? Really can you get anymore cheap? The area around the property is beautiful and close to everything. I really expected more from the New Harmony Inn.

We had a little snafu at check-in but the desk clerk corrected it for us. I think it was a combination of my error and their miscommunication, but as I said upon realizing the messup it was immediately fixed. Staff were great, friendly, helpful and accomodating. The place was scerene, and totally awesome! My only other problem was the beds were very firm making my sleep difficult. Overall we loved the hotel, the town, the history; it all made for a great trip. Not to mention the wedding at the granary was beautiful!

Rated all categories in mid range (unable to choose n/a) due to actually not even being able to get to the property due to unforeseen circumstances. I did stay in touch with property throughout the day, letting them know the situation. Attempts were made by the company that reservation booked with in attempt to get refund but unable to do so. Would like to have seen this place and possibly went there for future visits but chances of that happening are slim now. It’s too bad companies don’t have some kind of policy in place for unforeseen circumstances (I didn’t just not show up or not call), so that people can get some kind of refund.

A wonderful place to get away!

This was our 2nd visit to the New Harmony Inn, and we loved the solitude of this place! The grounds were well maintained and perfect for strolling and enjoying the lake, stream and area in general. Our room was spot clean and ever so quiet; the bed was extremely comfortable. We rented one of their golf carts and took a drive around the quaint, little town where we visited with several residents, sat by the Wabash River and enjoyed the overall peacefulness and beauty of the place. For one night or several, if one is seeking serenity, this is the place to go!

We always enjoy our visits to The New Harmony Inn and New Harmony in general. The Red Geranium is an excellent restaurant whether you dine inside or on the patio. The staff is friendly and the food delicious. The exterior of The New Harmony Inn needs some maintenance, i.e. some rot to the wood around the windows. However, the interior is in fine shape and was very clean. The bed was comfortable, but the fitted sheet needed to be deeper. It kept coming loose on the head corners. Not a big deal, but worth noting. All in all, a great visit.

Although the heat & humidity were really oppressive, we had a wonderful 2 day visit to New Harmony. The Inn is lovely and the grounds offer so many options for enjoying the outdoors. The Red Geranium restaurant had great selections and the service could not have been better. The room was charming. Nice that they featured local soaps & potpourri. Very walkable little town, cute shops, beautiful gardens, and fascinating history.

This is a beautiful property- sprawling and beautiful - in a quaint little historic town. We were here the end of July 2025 and had the place to ourselves. Call about the restaurant because it wasn’t open on Tuesday when we checked in and we were counting on it. Nothing in town was open either so we had to drive to Poseyville for dinner. Also, the workout facility is not good and in a windowless basement that feels creepy. If not for that i would have given 5 stars on everything.

A wonderful visit and the property is charming and very quiet during our stay. We were challenged by only two minor things at the Inn, the bed was too firm for our taste with very stumpy pillows, and the restaurant on site was not open during our stay Sunday-Tuesday.
In general the town seemed abandoned which was nice in one respect that we could explore freely but we felt like we stumbled into a vacant movie set.
Also, the food options were very narrow with some of those being closed on Sunday so we traveled to Mount Vernon to eat but would have preferred staying in NH.
The Inn was lovely, clean, and we felt safe and cared for but I think we were the only one's there on our entire floor and maybe the building. Dead quiet.
Get to New Harmony people, fill that quaint and historic town up with some energy, it deserves to flourish.

Cute little hotel! Rooms are a little dated but very clean, beds are firm. Tv, coffee, mini fridge. The grounds are beautiful. Golf cart rentals are affordable with trails nearby the river. They have a nice outdoor pool but it was closed during our stay. So if the pool is the reason you’re booking check first! We will definitely be back when visiting the area again.

Ghost Town - beautiful setting, clean and comfortable room but no place for dinner on a Monday evening. Every store front on Main Street was closed by 5PM. Ice cream shop sign said open 4-7PM. Old school diner on Main St. was open for breakfast.

Great place to be if you enjoy solitude and quiet walks in a peaceful setting with limited human contact.

I love this place but had to cancel my last night of a 2 night stay. Hotels.com were very eager to help me get a refund for the one night, but New Harmony Inn wouldn't even accept their calls. Michael at New Harmony was very unprofessional and said a housekeeper must have checked us out early, he had no record of it. Even told Hotels.com we stayed both nights. When I called and questioned him, he said he glanced at dates wrong, but was unwilling to contact Hotels.com or accept their calls afterward. He said his supervisor was on vacation and had just left, no one was in charge. Very, very disappointed in their customer service. I hope Rose, the manager will make this right when she returns from vacation and reads this. I even asked for the owners information but Michael said he didn't know, they lived in another state. We could hear Michael and a girl giggling in the background during our 20 minute conversation.

We checked in after 8pm. When we got to our room we noticed mouse droppings on the end table. Upon further inspection, I found mouse droppings and urine all over the shower and sink, and there was a pile of blackbird feathers in the bathroom. We called the front desk and they offered to move us rooms immediately. But I was so tired, I did not care at that point. The next morning, I went to the front desk and they sent someone to clean the room. They called me later and reported that they found more mice evidence and switched us rooms. It looks like the room had been empty for a few days and they did not check it before we checked in. There were no issues with the other room we were moved to. The area around the hotel is beautiful.

Weekend trip for Christmas in Harmony with my daughter and Grands. This is the only hotel in town but we love staying here. Comfortable rooms, very clean, and the kiddos love the huge indoor pool. Restaurant right next door for convenient dining and close to Evansville if you want lots of shopping and dining choices.

The hotel is trying hard. They have nice things but not in great shape. The pool is awesome, but the building housing it is shoddy. The room is lovely, but the furniture is a little worn. The WiFi is excellent. The grounds are lovely, but there was a constant drone from machinery running nearby. The single most irritating thing, was the hotel restaurant closed 40 minutes before schedule and there was no notice. Even a note to say that the kitchen might close early. Just: Um, nope we are closed
