Staff support was extremely poor. This hotel probably made it so i will not go back to Costa Rica. this stay along with the other stay booked through Expedia probably made it so i won't use Expedia again as well. The photos on Expedia were not representative of the hotel. the pool had missing tiles everywhere, had not been kept up as the photos indicated. Without question the photos were at least 5 years old. The swim up bar was not manned, nor stocked, nor had any of the coolers actually turned on. It was clear the swim up bar hadn't been functioning for a while. Had to go to the front desk to ask for a beer. this one beer i ordered was dug ( and i mean dug) out of a restaurant cooler. now on to the meal.... Yikes. we ordered diner from the restaurant, while we were sitting there it was very odd because the kitchen was right in front of us and there was no movement in there and there weren't any smells of food. a little while later our waiter comes from the opposite direct with plates in his hand. Long story short he was ordering food from the restaurant next door, up charging it and serving it to us....and not just us. We busted him doing this later as we went across the street to the Karaoke bar/restaurant. I kid you not. Absolutely unacceptable!.

Property manager and other staff were awesome! Breakfast was good, especially the fresh fruit. Rooms are basic but clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. The area around the hotel was not very walkable, so expect to drive or stay on site (they will help you order amazing pizza delivery, so surprisingly good!)

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on our way out of SJO traveling west for 1 night. Important things we were looking for: secure parking, breakfast included, air conditioning, WiFi, easy access from the highway.

Senor Herrera was very accommodating and kind. He showed us his available rooms and let us choose between them. The rooms were clean and the hotel grounds was well manicured. There was a pool that was available, which we didn't use but others did--it looked clean and well maintained. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel before continuing on our travels, which was very convenient. There are several grocery stores and a market within walking distance from the hotel. There is a futbol arena next door and a bar across the street, but they quieted down at a decent hour. The hotel is well secured and we felt like our vehicle was safe behind the locked courtyard gate. Overall, would stay here again for sure. It was the perfect place for us, meeting our needs, and well exceeded our expectations for the price.

The staff was always bringing us fresh fruits and cold drinks and fresh beach towels. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. It's very cozy and clean- we cannot wait to stay again! The hotel was immaculately clean and the included breakfast was delicious. Our daughter loved the pool - it was just the thing after a long day of travel. Our room had good AC and comfortable beds. The staff were very kind and helpful! Will recommend this hotel to others and stay here again if I’m ever in the area!

The staff has been fantastic: we arrived very late (almost 2am) and they were waiting to open the parking door and walked us to our room.
Then in the morning we were leaving before breakfast time, but they were super nice and cut some fruits for us and put them in a box to take with us: way to go the extra mile!

Very friendly people go out of their way to help you. The only big negative was they have tons of mosquitoes and we got bitten so many times even inside the rooms.Do not order Chinese food from the outside, we got so sick in our stomach and diarrhea, however we did eat pizza which they made in house anyways healthy

Main problem is streets are not named and had to ask directions several times to find the hotel. Near the center of town so easy walking about. Has good parking area for your rental car. Comfortable stay in Orotina

I stayed at this hotel when driving back from Guanacaste to San José and the highway route 27!2-: completely backed up. The hotel owner greeted us at reception. The rooms could use a little renovation,!!$5 overall they’re great for the price. The hotel has a nice Pool that kids and grown ups alike would enjoy. I’d stay here again.

With thousands of night of travel for both business and pleasure this is the lowest rating every given to a hotel in any continent.

The location worked for us although lots of street noise (traffic) all night, friendly staff, the beds were good and the breakfast and pool facilities were great.

The reason for the poor rating was the bathroom. What we call in engineering a “Suicide Shower” or “Widow Maker” that is a shower head that has direct current for heating the water. Please Google these terms for additional safety information. In addition, I will attempt to attach a photo showing that the wiring was not in a utility box but through the use of exposed electrical tape..

Bugs, mice, cold water, outside showers all have been experienced without a safety issue. Maybe I am crazy…..but I would rather be dirty than the potential death from this type of plumbing. In over 3 weeks in Costa Rica, from the very South to the very North, this type of shower was not experienced outside this single property.

As they say “ A little dirt never killed anyone”.

Service is everything

We were involve in a small fender bender on our trip to Costa Rica, which put us behind and we needed a place to stay. Iguana Verde was located along the way so we did a last minute booking. We were welcomed by friendly and helpful faces. Then served drinks in the swim up bar and our bartender ordered us food from a local restaurant when we said we were hungry. Great end to a rough day!

Cute hotel in center of town.

This was a very clean and quaint hotel with a guy running the hotel that was superb. That said, the location was noisy including the music played until late at the pool area, street noise, and loud neighbors. The bed was thinly padded and there was very limited space to put your personal hygeine items in the bathroom. The interior pool and bar area were beautifully done and relaxing. The room itself and noise level were not good. Breakfast was good.

The Hotel is beautifull, there is really not to much to do. But it has a nice pool and bar area. Also there are a lot of restaurants near by.
We loved it for the kids and had a family relaxing time.
Also we appreciate how nice is all the staff.

We went there this past weekend to stay after a wedding nearby. We ordered some food to our room because we were in a hurry and didn't have time to sit down at the restaurant, they had no problem in taking our nachos and fries to our room (which by the way, they were absolutely delicious).
We had a problem with the AC which was not working, we called the front desk and they immediately solved the problem and offered another room (which was not necessary). We liked the way they took care of the problem and that they were truly concerned in our enjoyment of our night at their hotel. We had a great night sleep after the wedding with a nice dark room (great blackout curtains) and we were able to sleep till 11am which was just what we needed.
Great nice little hotel!

p.s.: We didn't have time to enjoy the pool, but it is really nice!

Hotel manager was delightful and so helpful and friendly. When we sat out by the pool they turned on American music for us. The hotel was small, quaint and right in town. Unfortunately, there is nothing to visit in the town. No tourists shops at all. One bar refused to serve us, it was only for locals. This is a good place to stop for a rest when traveling, which is why we stopped there.
