Cute little motel that has themed rooms. Room was clean, quiet, beds were comfortable and had a nice view. Didn't have a coffee maker in the room and breakfast was fruit, coffee, juice, yogurt and a sweet roll. There was a restaurant close by so a full breakfast was available. Check in was quick and easy and staff was pleasant to work with. I would recommend and certainly stay here again.

a really good stay at this old style motel. It was neat and clean and comfortable all at a reasonable price. shopping and restaurants very close by. The breakfast is very light- just packaged pastries, breakfast bars, yogurt, etc. but enough to get one going.

Fine for a one night rest.

Cozy room with ocean theme. Bathroom was upgraded for bath/shower. Toilet was also new, but for some reason they installed an industrial toilet instead of one you would normally find in home or a hotel.The towels were not white in our room either, which is surprising, although not a problem. More homey, which the toilet was not. Also no way to make hot water.

A beautiful setting. Rooms are decorated with a theme and very homey looking. Very pleasant change from the stark white of chain hotels. Large grassy area to walk or sit and enjoy the evening. Chairs even provided for sitting outside to enjoy the quiet nature.

The hotel is very nice a quaint. It's quite and clean. I loved that they allowed my 3 dogs to stay there and they had a lovely large grassy field for my dogs to play frisbee to get some exercise before bed. My only issue is that the pet fee was very high at $20.00 per dog.

Overall, this was a very pleasant stay! It is an older motel, as has been stated, but very clean and comfortable. For the price, it was a bargain. Very minimal breakfast but a Caseys is right close and the diner connected to it was delicious!😉 If you just need a bed, can't beat it!

Special care and attention was felt during our stay, from check-in, to the warm and cozy room, to the breakfast area. The outside area was equally inviting and \"home like.\" This was not just an overnight stay, but a special experience to remember.

This is a quaint little motel that was comfortable and clean. The guy at reception was not very friendly and the coffee wasn't drinkable, but those are my only complaints. Luckily there is both a McDonalds and a Casey's next door for coffee. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the wooden chairs set on the hill in the yard. Would stay there again.

Disappointing old-school motel off of I-80

I don't like to complain and I know that running a non-chain hotel is not an easy business, but this was a very disappointing stay. We decided to stay at Crest Country Inn in Williamsburg based on the stellar reviews I read on Hotel.com (9.2/10 Wonderful!). The many 9/10 and 10/10 reviews don't bear any resemblance to our experience. We arrived at about 5pm and checked in. Our two rooms were fairly clean but both had terrible odors (I think the smell is mildew coming from the bathtub drains). We opened the windows wide and went out to dinner, hoping the smells would dissipate. No such luck. There was a sign on the motel office saying that it closed at 7:30 pm and would reopen the next day at 10am, so there was no way to try to change rooms (and with no on-site staff at night, what is one supposed to do if something needs attention at night?). The deadbolt on one of the rooms wouldn't lock, which was a bit disconcerting. The rooms had \"themes\" -- mine was \"A Day at the Beach,\" and our other room was sort of a Maine moose vibe--cute, I suppose, but combined with the overwhelming smell it just seemed like a long ignored old-school motel from 1962. The views of the rolling Iowa hills were beautiful at sunset (and do enjoy downtown W'burg's lovely park!). Note that the motel's east side looks out over a huge Williamsburg outlet mall, and the gorgeous west side view is quite noisy with traffic on I-80 early in the morning. We won't be staying here again.

The first room we were given the refrigerator had been off for so long that the ice had melted in the freezer and there were dead nats or something in the water! The replacement room they gave us there were cob webs on the ceiling with dead flys in them and it smelled like someone had been smoking in the room. The night clerk was very unfriendly amd not much help. The morning person had a mich better attitude amd was very friendly amd helpful.

Very clean, rooms decorated at 5-star hotel levels. Very comfortable bed, thanks to a firm bed plus a memory foam mattress topper. Gracious and hospitable hostess/owner. There is a lovely large lawn available with Adirondack chairs and (I think) a picnic table under some shade trees.

The hotel itself is an older basic building - one story, outside room entrances that open to parking - thus 4 stars instead of 5. Also, the breakfast was very basic Continental style - but with real brewed coffee. There is a McDonalds close by; I would get coffee at the hotel and food at McD's.

We come to the area at least once a year, and this is the only place we stay. It is affordable, clean, quiet, and a overall great value. My only request is to bring back automatic daily housekeeping, and to add a few items to the continental breakfast. But those are small things that keep it from being phenomenal as opposed to great. The rooms are well cared for and comfortable, and the staff is very nice.

Excellent little gem on the hill! Place was convenient to highway, and room was very cozy and bed was very comfortable! Really enjoyed staying there! Only thing was we arrived after 10pm and office was closed! It caused a little confusion on my part until I read the sign that pointed me to key and envelope with receipt! The property was on a nice quiet back area and the room was cute. The room itself was cozy and comfortable and cute. The cleaning left something to be desired. There was still trash on the floor and under the bed and counters from other prior guests. The plug didn't work in the tub, as I had to use rags to plug it. And I'm pretty sure I heard mouse scratching around. If it gets cleaned up better and the tub gets fixed, I'd stay again. But as of right now. No.

Such a cozy nook each room is, not your every room exactly the same place. Akin to a bed and breakfest type place without all the clutter. Each room has it's own theme. Great location for visits to Iowa City or along I80. Stay once and you'll be back if in the area. Nice quite spot atop a hill with a lovely back yard and picnic area.

The hotel had a 9.2 rating - I don't know how it received such a high score. The room was quaint - a bear and elk motif ran throughout the bed's quilt, pictures on the walls, and knickknacks. And the bed was comfortable.

But the door was very difficult to lock - I had to push the door closed with some force to get the lock to turn (and a good tug on the door was required to open the lock). In addition, the room was very damp. When my wife took off her shoes she commented that the floor was wet - it was not \"wet\" but one could definitely feel the moisture in the carpet. The room was also very dark - more powerful lightbulbs or another lamp would have been very helpful. Finally, the breakfast was so-so - it was unattended so supplies were low, there was no decaf coffee, and there was only powdered creamer.

Although I had selected the pet friendly filter on Expedia when making the reservation, this was apparently not shared with the motel, which created confusion at check in. A room was available, but the extra expense was unexpected and higher than in previous years. Also, the room floor was grimy when we checked in and apparently never cleaned during our stay.
