A true retro motel from the 1960s. Clean sheets, a comfortable bed, and a peaceful setting away from the main drag. Close to the harbour walkway, great for a run. Like many NZ motels, it would benefit from a full modern refurbishment to meet today’s traveller expectations.

The facilities are fantastic for a motel. It was extremely clean, well maintained and very homely. We loved it. Great place to stay if you're doing the first light marathon in the future as it's close to the start line, and very close to the beach ( about a 1 min walk) .

Lovely receptionist. The room was cold, the aircon/heater didn't work. Only had a small heater which only heated half the room. Not enough towels, only had 2 for the family of 5 people that stayed the night. I paid $280 for a cold room with insufficient heating. Not much parking space either. Will not be staying here again.

Well the house keeping was appalling. Their house keeping comprise of replacing your towels, nothing else. After complaining, they decided to clean the room properly after the 4th night. Very poor, no customer service for a room which cost me NZ $200 a night.
