Nightmare at Super 8 by Wyndham

Room was terribly unclean. When walking on floor the bottom of feet turned black. Cockroaches were prevalent. Dirt and debris were left behind the toilet. Dirt and food scraps were under the rolling fridge where I killed one of the roaches. There were no blankets, no hand soap or any other toiletries like shampoo. The building both inside and out was in terrible condition. I would never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Wyndham should be ashamed to allow such a place to carry its name.

Prepaid for a room. My husband arrived around 11:45pm after traveling all day. The night bell was missing and the door was locked. We chose this place because the listing said there was no end time for check in and we knew he would be late. After knocking on the window for 15 min. I called the hotel 3 times and no answer. I contacted Expedia who also attempted to contact the hotel with no luck. My husband had no choice but to fund another place for the night. He said the place looked very run down. Hopefully we get our money back.

Waited outside for nearly an hour as lobby was closed and no one was at the desk. There was a night window with a note to ring the bell for service but the bell was broken. Finally got in through a side door that was unlocked to get to the lobby but did not see anyone in the hotel. Spoke to customer service and they called the property multiple times but received no answer. Finally decided to book another property down the road and just as we were leaving someone from the staff came out.

We were lucky to get into the motel. The desk clerk happened to be at the front desk. The bell to call for night service had been removed. He ignored me at the night window at only by knocking loudly at the window was I able to get his attention. The room had no phone, minimal lighting and no coffee station. For a party of four there were only two hand towels It looked as if nothing had been swept or dusted in the motel in a while although our room was clean. The next day, daylight revealed a property strewn with litter. We stayed here because we couldn't get to our destination in one day. The cleanliness of the room met our needs so this is a place to get in and get out.

You Get What You Pay For

This was the worst motel I've stayed in maybe forever. There's trash everywhere outside, and inside is really run down. The room was ok, though the beds looked like someone had been just sleeping in them. There were no blankets, just a sheet and cover. We had to turn the heat up to stay warm. They allow pets which I appreciate, but the guy said $15 extra then charged my card $20. It's the cheapest place around and this is why.

Horribly gross! Should be condemned.

This room was so awful. The vanity sink in the bathroom was removed and installed by the front door outside of the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, the pipes were sticking out from the wall and there were holes. The shower curtain was moldy. The comforter had cigarette burns, the artwork was horrible, the side chair next to the bed was disgusting. At one point I wanted to call the front desk because the car alarm outside my window was going off, so I picked up the phone and discovered that it was nonfunctional and didn’t even have a cord attaching the handset. I don’t even know why it was on the nightstand. Also, the television hanging on the wall was non-functioning, but I had two remotes, neither worked. Everything was dirty, and aged, and outside parking lot was also disgusting. There’s trash everywhere outside of the rooms which I assume were permanent rentals.

When we arrived, I was taken aback, the property was very run down, and looked nothing like the ad on hotels.com. I was on a last minute trip to visit my mother in the Hospital. She was in Halifax Regional and being transfered to Greenville. I live near the state line on the coast. I had worked all morning and drove all day. So i dealth with the mistake i had made with the reservation. A/c was broke in room 209 so we were moved to 207. At 2:30am the police tried to barge in and toss us out, i guess the night staff thought we had broken into the room. I am disgusted... not even an apology was given. Hotels.com could not get a refund, but did issue me a credit. What a joke of a hell hole.

No words to describe this place…

The good: the front desk guy was super friendly. He corrected our issue quickly. The bad: trash and empty alcohol bottles all over the property. Halls look like they haven’t been swept in 3 years. There was a bag of trash, an unmade bed and dirty towels in the first room we were assigned bc the cleaner didn’t do their job. The ceiling had moldy spots. Didn’t even bother to take pictures bc seeing the place again would just be torture.

Completely honest review, with some positives and negatives. If you just want/need to get off the road maybe this would be the spot to stay in. It’s very affordable and has two gas stations and one fast food within walking distance.

When I arrived the staff was on the phone, so there was basically no interaction. Handed my ID and I got my hotel key. No conversation between us. Some may find it rude but I was just happy it was a quick exchange.

The hallway was full of trash bags, which brought in flies. Vending machines were out of order so bring in your own snacks. The tub was old and discolored, definitely wouldn’t want a bath in it. Some of the items in the room were broken, a lamp and no phone. The room had an odor, kinda moldy. No elevator, or none that I saw. I had to use stairs.

I wouldn’t rush back to stay here. But it was very nice to find an inexpensive place to stay for one night to get off the road when I just needed to shower and rest. The area was quiet and I could hop right back on the highway to continue my trip in the morning.

Overall, it was okay for one night. Bed and towels were clean, which was all I needed anyhow.

Hope this will help someone if they are looking to stay.

Never Again!!!

Made a reservation and it took the attendant close to 20 mins to get me checked in. Was assigned room 310 and left out to get ice and when I returned I realized that my door did not automatically lock. When to front desk to tell same attendant who turn out to be the manager and was told he would be there in 30 mins too check door. He never came. Phone in room did not work. Toilet drained slowly but still did not empty out all the contents. Had a patio door that I used to go in and out because it was in back of building and when I went to work for the 2 days just kept praying no one went in my room. When return from work on first night stopped to tell attendant again but rung bell at window for over 10 mins and no came. Upon check out this morning the same manager was there and I told him again about the door and that he said he was coming and he tells me HE IS SORRY, HE FORGOT!!! I will never stay at this place again. As a travel nurse I just wanted to work and sleep but it was uncomfortable so I didn't get very much sleep!!

The manager on duty behind the desk checking me is was beyond rude. I walked up to the counter and all I got was a rude \"Yes?\" I've never felt more unwelcome. It looked like a murder scene inside the hotel. Dirt, trash, stains all over the floors and carpet. The minute we walked into our room there was a roach walking on the floor. No toilet paper and stains all over our bed sheets. Thank god we had our own blankets and pillows. It was the worst place I have ever stayed in. We would have stayed somewhere different but we had been driving for 12 hours and it was after 9pm. The place didn't feel safe ever. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Horrible I knew it wouldn’t be good as soon as I walked into the 2nd floor and there was old dried urine in the stairwell (at least that’s what it looked like). Dirty room. Hair all over bathroom. Pubic hairs on the “clean” towels. Stains on towels and sheets. The one thing I was looking forward to was a hot shower but the water wouldn’t even get warm and the paint was peeling of the tub and it was stained and dirty too. Tv was blurry and distorted. WiFi was non existent.

Nice, friendly service but the room was awful! Holes in the wall where headboard used to be. No blanket on bed just top sheet cover. Double room yet only 1 towel in bathroom for 2 people to share. TV was blurry, distorted and not functioning well. Have to take luggage up a flight of stairs with no elevator. Door handles weren't installed right, handle lifts up to open instead of turning down. Room keys don't work right. Even at $50 a night, not worth what you get in return

Mostly cleanliness and Maintenance. Room wasn’t vacuumed or cleaned before we rented. The place needs TLC. No food. No coffee. Towels a little dirty. Bathtub was cracked and we couldn’t take a shower. Got charged $20 extra because the room I rented wasn’t smoke free and due to health issues and having a compromised system we had to switch to smoke free zone. Since they doesn’t do a refund I had to take it anyways. But at least we got the sleep we needed because it was so quiet. And the staff was good they just need to have a little more experience and be more interactive to the ones they rent to.

Nightmare from Home

Hotel room was filthy, and the bathroom was in terrible condition. Actual Holes in the side of the tub. Was advised by website that pets stay free but on checking in was told there was an additional charge for pets of $10 each per night. The Security door leading into the hall way that normally you use a room key to access was in active, anyone could walk in and out of hall. Strong smell of Marijuana in hallway at all hours. Which sounded like activity in the hallway all night. The sliding door on our level (ground) had one of the panes of glass broken and door lock didn't work but had a thin metal bar to lock it with. Out side of door very dirty with trash and looked like a blanket. Had to Call front desk the 2nd night with cell phone, since room phone was out of service and the phone itself had the name of another hotel on it. Was told to meet the front desk person at the laundry room so he could get me 2 towels, met him and he had to look around the piles of laundry to find a couple of clean towels and face cloths. Carpet in room felt sticky. Drink machines in hall way were out of service, and ice machine was out of order. Have stayed at Super 8 chains in past and had a great stay. I wasn't wanting a posh experience just a clean room, shower, and secure feeling while staying. Which we did not receive. Felt trapped into the weekend due to lack of pet friendly rooms. But never will go back to this location and would warn others to avoid it.

The price was ok, compared to other options in the area. Mr. David Smith (His last name is Smith and I think his first name is David) was particularly friendly during check in, which was well after midnight. Avcess to the front desk was essentially closed, except a slot at which keus could be deposited. There wasno trash can in the room; no toilet paper on the roll, but toilet paper was available in the bathroom. The TV worked but with a dull picture, for some reason.

This place is a budget option, I get that. However, urine on toilet seat, bug in microwave, white hairs on the carpet, extra lock on the door almost broken( what happened before?!). - this place needs to do more basic cleaning! I highly recommend not staying here - spend just a bit more and feel cleaner for it. I was glad to leave.

Card reader on hotel door broken, door propped open so anyone could walk in the building. No breakfast, not that I'd have eaten it. Oh, and a dead roach under the sink. If I didn't arrive at 1AM, I'd have left immediately.

Good price for the room with a dog and myself. The bathtub/shower did not have any anti-slip protection and I could not regulate the water temperature easily. A coffee maker/pot with a serving of coffee would be nice for the morning. The TV was analog and had poor reception. For the price, I had a inexpensive place for one night.

Terrible and Not Clean - Not as Advertised

NOT AS ADVERTISED. Sad to say this property is hardly a Wyndham. It has been bought out by Super 8 and is severely dilapidated. Condition is terrible. If I hadn't pre-paid, I would have immediately cancelled. Unfortunately, it was late and I was unfamiliar with the area. I felt stuck. Room was terrible. Had been bought out multiple times as seen by Rodeway Inn phone, Super 8 temporary sign and Wyndham ad. See pictures of broken furniture, unclean bathroom and hotdog bun bed. Couldn't wait to leave.
