Have stayed here many many times over the years, always on our way to the Kruger National Park and sometimes on our way out.
I would very highly recommend staying here. It has very nice and easy, peaceful and relaxing feel about the place. Just the job to unwind after a long journey.
The staff are always some of the best attentive staff that you will wish to find anywhere.

We have stayed several times at Rissington inn, over many years and have always enjoyed its peaceful and charming nature. We really enjoyed our stay this year but felt that the decor was beginning to look a little tired. The staff,as always,were delightful and the pool and grounds were immaculate.

Best stay in Hazyview

The stay was pleasant from the time we entered the main gate right through to being received warmly at reception, we were offered cold lemonade to cool us down. The lady(mother to the twins, sorry i forgot her name)that attended to us was very kind and patient with us. We were ushered to our cottage and given all necessary information. Lovely place, squeaky clean, extremely comfortable and feels homely.

Yes, the 1 km rutted dirt driveway can be intimidating. The hotel is beautiful, secluded with lovely staff and a great chef. The cushions on the chairs and daybed could be a bit more padded but overall, a 10. 💖

Excellent Place to Relax, Revive & Remember

Had my last 2 nights, of a 2 week holiday, at Rissingtons, and could not have asked for a better way to end my trip.
The staff were extremely friendly and so accommodating. My room was perfect, had a beautiful view out over the garden and was very spacious. Due to some renovations to the restaurant, breakfast and dinner were served in my room, which was great. The food was...out of this world delicious. With regards to Covid, every precaution was taken to make me feel safe, with an in room santiser station - and virtual check-in and ordering. Honestly cannot stress enough what a great stay I had here. Thank you to the team for making me feel so welcome and for letting me end my break on such a high!!

A l’arrivée le personnel nous parlait très vite en anglais et nous avions de la difficulté à comprendre. Ils s’en foutaient carrément et semblaient bien découragés.
Le soir, lorsque nous avions quittés pour dîner ils sont venus à notre chambre porter du chocolat mais ils ont déplacés des objets. Fermes des stores et touches à des serviettes déjà utilisés.

A Fabulous Gateway to Kruger

The main hotel building is an old great house for a farm. The architecture is extremely interesting and the views from the restaurant on the terrace are superb. The staff worked with each other like family - and treated the guests just the same. The owner of the hotel is an expert on South African history and an incredibly interesting fountain of knowledge about Winston Churchill and all of his contemporaries. The Inn is only about 15 minutes from the the entry to Kruger closest to Pretoriuskop and is a great place to stay on the way in or out of the park (or both).

Food was excellent and we loved the 2 'mini' main course options. Great idea. Staff wonderful and everyone tried to make our stay wonderful. We booked one night and then decided to stay another. Then amazingly they washed our car!!

cozy inn convenient to Kruger Park

We stayed one night at the Rissington Inn in one of their villas. It has a lovely and large ground with pool. We also enjoyed dinner at their restaurant. The inn actually is about 1km off of R40 down an unpaved road, so it is very quiet.

Nice place but no water and electricity

The overall experience was bad because we had no water and electricity including generator were out initially. Electricity and AC returned 2 am only. We had dinner and breakfast and both were very good !

Strange but lovely

The room was huge and very comfortable with big windows, air conditioning!, a private balcony, little sitting area with magazines and great views over the gardens and pool. You can't beat the physical space... but the ambiance is, well, odd. It took three people to check us in painstakingly slowly although we did have complimentary juice to enjoy during the process. In the room there is an extensive rule book and the prohibitions include everything from tolerating the neighbors' cats to not chewing gum on the premises to no children in the dining room past 6:30. The staff moves in slow motion whether they are showing you to your room or taking your order in the dining room but on the plus side they are not chewing gum. I probably would not stay here again just out of the fear of running into the eccentric owner.

Be careful of unwarranted charges by the Hotel

The free Wifi was awful. The hotel provided me an adapter to charge my mobile, later billed it to me and asked me to keep it for future use. I didnt want it, but since the value was just ZAR 70, I did not argue.
On the last day, I had to check out very early, the staff suggested to carry take-away breakfast, I agreed. They packed it in a picnic bag and handed it over to me. the bag was a used one and torn too. After breakfast, I trashed it at the airport before boarding my flight. Next day, I received a message that they have debited my account for value of the bag. This was crazy, they debited my credit card account without my consent.

Great location for day visits to Kruger,Blind River area if you have a car and choose self drive holiday. ..welcoming reception, excellent service, great breakfast, dinner offered with wide range of choices not necessary to leave once returning from a busy day of game viewing..location only 7km to the park..oasis in midst of Hazyview..highly recommend this Inn as your base in Haztview/ Kruger..needwanted to extend our stay for a third night..staff found us accommodation near by which was also excellent..you will be well looked after here..

A little piece of heaven

Rissington Inn is a perfect spot to enjoy quiet beauty and good food. We enjoyed gourmet meals with reasonably priced wine each night for dinner. The wait staff worked hard to please us. Breakfast each morning was extensive and delicious. Our room had an old-fashioned bath tub, which we enjoyed with the provided bath salts and bubble bath. The only negative was ants on our porch, which made it difficult to enjoy reading and sipping a beverage on the porch. However, I recognize that we were the intruders from the ants point of view, so we just moved our reading into the indoor parlor. Another positive was its proximity to Kruger National Park.

A Gem of a Place

Stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our safari holiday in the Kruger. Everything about the place is brilliant. As soon as we walked in Chris and the staff immediately made us feel at home. The food is genuinely top notch, the bar is fantastic and the room simple clean and a genuinely lovely place to be. I will be back. The little things really made our stay very special; for example, there is a turndown service, a weather report is left on your bedside table and the fact there is no TV, Brilliant! They even washed the car for us on our day of departure.

African style and hospitatlity

We stayed for two nights and visited Kruger Park. Our rooms were spacious and well furnished. The entrance was a bit dodgy, but the hotel itself was perfect. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They made a lunch for our park trip very early in the morning and even washed our car before we left. The food was great and the atmosphere was very African and pleasant.

Great place. On first driving up it seems like it's in the middle of nowhere but once you get to the gates it's more like an African Oasis. Big room, nice friendly staff, and very good food. Didn't use the pool but very inviting...
Now we would have possibly stayed another night but the room we had been given did not have aircon and it says that quite clearly in the room desciption (although some/most of the other rooms do appear to have aircon) but we did not appreciate how hot it was going to be without it - our mistake!
Don't let this little niggle out you off though, it really is a great place and close enough to Kruger Park and some of the most beautiful scenery we have ever encountered.

Charming property in park

This is a beautiful property surrounded by parklike setting. The rooms were beautiful. Our room was very large, had an indoor & outdoor shower, large patio with hammock, etc. Dinner in the main building was one of the best we had in five weeks. The bar area with balcony was charming. The owner & staff are very friendly and helpful. We were very sorry we did not stay longer. You need a car to get here. The road in is a little rough.

A complete gem in Hazyview

We booked one night in advance and ended up staying for three! The Rissington Inn was warm and welcoming and utterly accommodating. The restaurant had a surprisingly extensive and quite competently executed menu , not to mention an extensive list of South African wines! Highly recommended as a base for touring Southern Kruger Park.

Rissington Inn: A Great Base for KNP Area

The Inn was a wonderful place for my family to rest after a very long day trip to KNP on our recent visit there from Australia. The service is warm and friendly and the food is excellent. The superior rooms we had were stylish and comfortable. The only negatives were a lack of air conditioning and an overhead fan that was difficult to set to a comfortable speed. The access is via a long dirt road that is well maintained. These factors were mild glitches in an otherwise memorable over night stay. I highly recommend Rissington Inn.
