The hotel is quite something!
Walked around the grounds and it was amazing.. To the spiral staircases, to the gardens to the violin playing over the speakers.
Room was spacious and the bed super comfortable.

The only neutral-negative comment would be the breakfast. It cost 15Euros which is fine. In fact it could easily be baked into the cost of the room and I wouldn't bat an eye since the stay itself it great value. The breakfast doesn't live up the magnificence of the rest of the hotel.

The building is stunning and we had a great time exploring the grounds. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Few vegetarian options in the area, breakfast in the hotel was yummy. The rooms are basic but have all that's needed. Would definitely recommend staying here for a night

The Abbey is a beautiful 18th century structure that has been restored and now serves in many functions including a hotel. Our room in the Abbey overlooked the Moselle River and the town of Pont a Mousson. Many fine dining establishments are within 15 minutes walking distance from the Abbey.
It is historic, beautiful and serene.

This hotel is in an old abbey that is being renovated. Guests are encouraged to check it out.
The rooms are clean and well maintained. Many have a small sitting room with the bed and bath upstairs in a loft. A word of caution, the stairs are somewhat narrow

1970s Decor in historic abbey

Charming from the outside in a very historic abbey. The room itself had a very good bed and was very quiet, the decor a bit seventies. One should know that there is no lift, our room was on the second floor but as the ceilings are high there are a few steps to take. Overall recommended for an overnight stay.

Travelling and staying overnight in Europe is currently not recommended but the Abbey is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are simple and quiet and very clean. There is no food service but we were so grateful that staff helped us order in dinner and we bought breakfast. We will stay here again without hesitation. The bed was very comfortable.

Hotel de l'Abbaye des Premontres is an attractive hotel in picturesque Pont-a-Mousson, located halfway between Nancy and Metz. The hotel, well-located within easy walking distance of the center of Pont-a-Mousson, is a former abbey and current museum. It is clean and comfortable, excluding a need for air conditioning on hotter summer nights. The wifi worked well. We didn't take the somewhat pricey breakfast.

The location in a cloister/abbey was amazing and one could walk around the courtyard, hallways on several floors, salons, etc. filled with artworks and grand winding staircases with enorm chandeliers. Great views. 10 minute walk into town. Very clean, comfortable, great value.

A comfortable and welcoming stopover

What a welcome place to stay after the long drive from Amsterdam. The hotel is part of an old abbey overlooking the Moselle. It's a short walk from the pretty town centre and easily reached from the motorway. There are plenty of restaurants in town (Monday evening is limited) and there is a plentiful and tasty breakfast available in the hotel. The room was comfortable, quiet and spacious - an ideal stopover on our journey south. We'll certainly use this hotel again when we drive south.

Beautiful and sensitive conversion

The Abbaye itself is beautiful and wandering round the corridors to find your room shows just how well it has been preserved. The conversion to a hotel has been very well done, and the rooms compliment the building.
Check in was easy and straight forward, however I wish I’d listened to instructions on how to get to the room a little better!
The room itself was simple but comfortable, the bed especially lending itself to much needed sleep. We had a room overlooking the gardens which were very pretty.
Is about a ten minute walk to the town centre where we are a Pierre Bonaventure which at around 9pm on a Thursday was the only proper restaurant open - it was really excellent though.

The most incredible experience as there was art in every nook and corner in this Abbey. They had two exhibitions which were amazing to see during my stay.

This was like living in an Art Museum and waking up at night to go look at the Art anytime you wanted.

For an art lover, this place is pure heaven.

We stayed here for one night with our baby while driving through. The Abbey was a pleasant surprise and was pretty and quiet to wander around in. The room was simple but fine for us, even with a little kitchenette and the price was good. The village offers some good food and nice views but not too much else, just fine for a one night stop over.

Maze in the dark and an unexpected wake up call

We arrived around 9 and the person in the reception was not rude but was not really sharing anything with us. In the end he told us that the room was up the stairs in the middle. He saw that we had two big suitcases but did not tell us if there was an elevator which I am not even sure about after the stay. Then the trip in the maze started. Our room was number 216 but was on the 3rd floor which would have been good to know before the search in the dark on second floor. This climb would have been very difficult for older individuals or people not in shape. We finally found the room that was good and clean. In the morning we were woken up by a call that informed us that the hot water would be out for 30 minutes. We could not fall asleep again because of noise in the hallway. I recommend that the hotel staff should be more caring and they could have even have offered an accommodation such as free breakfast for inconvenience like this. When we were leaving we were charged with a small city fee (2 euros) which we had no idea about and had a really hard time understanding what the receptionist was talking about.

Lovely stay in an old Abbey

This was a stopover for our route from Paris to Black Forest. The Abbey was very peaceful and so quiet, we loved walking around inside, as a museum is also incorporated within the Abbey. It is set on the Mosel river, and the town over the bridge had sufficient choice of cafes and bars. The room, although not modern, had everything we needed.

Really awesome building, terrible on hot nights.

Maybe I wasn't well informed or maybe I'm just too used to the comforts in the USA, but on hot nights 32*C the room was unbearable. They do not ventilate the corridor so by the time you reach your room you are already sweaty. No screens in windows so the only way I managed was to never turn on a light and close the windows if I was going out at dusk. Finally asked for a fan and the weather turned cooler, so that helped but still the mosquitoes. I tend to get bitten by mosquitoes a lot even when others don't but when you wake up sweaty to one buzzing in your ear it's a bit rough. I looked at the windows and it looks like it would be difficult to add screens. Other than that it is nice. Breakfast was pleasant, very simple and the building is amazing. after a few nights I realized I was taking the beauty for granted. Spectacular courtyard, amazing abbey. Very cool. The shower worked very well once I learned how to use it. The secret is rotate down for tub and push the slider on the knob and turn up for shower. Same goes for adding hot water. House keeping did a very thorough job cleaning, the staff was very friendly when I had to lengthen my reservation several times. All in all I'd come back but I'd be prepared to deal with the mosquitos.

Worth a stay!

Enjoyed staying at the Abbaye. It is a magestic building that was sadly extensively damaged during WWII. Our room was comfortable, clean and facing the river. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend a night at the Abbaye and live the experience of walking around the building like monks of yesteryears.

Interesting location and wonderful historic surroundings. The hotel is good, and perfectly comfortable, whilst not the most luxurious, but you wouldn't expect that at the price, so it's good value. Although there was a wedding party in the hotel, there was no disturbance and we had a peaceful night.

Beautiful hotel which is actually within the abbey

We booked for an overnight stopover, but wished we had longer there. The abbey is lovely and the town looked interesting. The hotel doesn't have a bar but breakfast in the original monk's refectory was a great experience. Good value and much better than Ibis or other chain.

What a magnificent \"ambience\": formal gardens in an centuries-old building alongside a wonderful river in a small but vibrant village. If this place hadn't been bombed in 1944 none of this would be possible. Take advantage of it if you can.

The hotel is located in the city center with plenty of parking facilities.We expected the rooms to be a bit more nicer though considering the price we paid. The wallpaper was peeling of from a few places and the walls a bit dirty. The upholsery looked a bit weary as well. The room service took a long time to arrive. the geral ambiance of the place is nice though.

Very large room with dual aspect windows. Spare pillows not in room and only 1 per person. Staff gave very limited information and we only discovered the secure car park when we walked around the grounds. Well situated though with 5 min walk into town, Ok for overnight stay but would not like to stay longer.

A hotel inside an Abby.

The room is very clean and roomy. Extremely quiet (inside an Abbey). Don't be fooled by the address. The address listed is an private house. The hotel is next door inside an Abbey. We got there in the dark and almost knocked the door on a private house but we hesitated since there was no sign indicating a hotel. The next door is a historical Abbey turned a museum. We went inside to ask the person for information and was surprised that actually was the check in counter for the hotel. No sign what so ever. The only complain is that the hotel counter just told us when and where to have breakfast. The breakfast was so so, but certainly not worth 11 euro per person we were charged in addition to the hotel fee.

A dissapointing experience

I was really looking forward to staying in a converted monastery and i was dissapointed by what we found. To be honest our group would have been better off staying in an Ibis. This was an expensive place for a one night stop over for ten blokes on motorbikes that wanted a beer at the end of a long days riding from the UK. The town was with within easy walking distance but was nothing special. I thought this place would have a bit of a wow factor, it didn't. There was nothing wrong with it but it just wasn't for us.

Impressive building!

The family rebelled at the prospect of another night in a French budget hotel chain on the return leg of our skiing trip to Switzerland. This hotel looked much more interesting and was well reviewed and conveniently situated to break our journey, so we thought we would try it out. We were not disappointed. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, though some wear and tear evident. Breakfast was not included in the price but was very good. It was served in a huge impressive hall in the old Abbey and more than satisfied 2 hungry teenagers and their parents! Not very much hot water by 10 pm though and we failed to find anywhere reasonable to eat in the evening locally.

The Abbey dominates the town , but it's not obvious that you can stay there. At night the massive wooden door is closed , and you ring to enter . The Abbey is open to visitors during the day , and has Art galleries and gardens, and these are yours to wander after the visitors go . It's right next to the Moselle river , and just 5 minutes walk to the main town square .No restaurant but a good breakfast .
