This place is a MUST STAY! It was the highlight of our trip. The attention to details was excellent. The facilities are awesome and clean, the customer service is exceptional and the breakfast 👌 wow! The room was comfortable and cozy. Peaceful at night. The pool are is comfortable as well with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Theycan arrange transportation and services such as massages. Best part is after you check out you can still hangout around the property if you have a later departure time.

Luxury away from the crowds

This was the perfect end to our Greek island hopping holiday. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and we couldn’t recommend the hotel enough. The room with its sea view was spacious and comfortable, the pool and pool bar were glorious and the staff friendly and helpful. We hope very much to be back!

Shower head was broke and the bathtub and shower was very old with a weird shower curtain making it difficult to shower. Old school key ( only had one) that had to be kept in the light switch in order to keep the air conditioning on. If you did though, there was no way to lock your room. The pool was very nice and had an amazing view.

I traveled with my daughter and stayed here for 2 nights. We booked the room with the hot tub and a beautiful view. I have to say the view and patio was stunning. The room however was outdated and the bathroom was not in great condition. Tub was stained dirty and we had no soap. When i asked the cleaner for some she gave me 2 bottles of conditioner lol. Breakfast had a large selection for everyone and was good. The pool and pool bar was amazing. Stunning views and just a great place. This hotel is located on the farthest end of the beach strip. Its located up a big hill so about 7 min walk from the beach. Be aware that transportation from the airport to this hotel is 30eur for a 15 min ride. I would recommended this hotel we just didn't live the room condition and the pillows were not good.

We stayed at Epavlis for 4 nights and had a mixed experience. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, in a fantastic area, and has many worthwhile amenities. Unfortunately the staff were unresponsive to an incident that happened when housekeeping removed our do not disturb sign and cleaned our room without permission. I have allergies to chemicals and detergents so we were very clear about not having our room cleaned (I usually wipe everything with safe cleaner and use my own pillowcases, blankets, etc) which they agreed to, but unfortunately went against. We expressed our discomfort with staff entering our room and touching our personal belongings against our wishes. They agreed to refund us for part of our stay but didn't follow through and have ghosted us in terms of providing any resolution or compensation. I think guests would expect their privacy to be respected with a 'do not enter/do not disturb' sign for a variety of reasons and would be disappointed to learn people had been in their room without permission. Additionally, the private pools with the more expensive rooms are not advertised accurately, as they are not on a private patio and anyone can get to them. We were unable to use ours due to how dirty it was.

Overall, the property, service and location were good.
I would prefer more clarification on what's included in the cost such as steam room, sauna, massage which were not included.

For improvement, i would like to have seen a kettle in the room, a bottle of water per day, a shuttle service to the airport, more customer care and and informwtion on local services like converting money.

Some staff were nice, not much English spoken at the hotel.

Room advertised hot tub. But it wasn’t heated so I think it’s not accurately listed. One day the chlorine levels seemed high. I asked at reception and a guy came and took some flies out, I tried to speak with him but he just said yes yes and left. No checks were done as far as I could see.

The sea view is mostly from the cold hot tub. The pictures don’t show you mostly look onto the back wall of the rooms in front.

The safe didn’t work. I did report it and was told it would be fixed. Was still broken when we left.

No of the advertised spa facilities like the steam sauna and hot tub seemed to be operational.

Pool area was nice and breakfast was ok.

Exterior looks good. Most of what is advertised on Expedia is untrue. Hot tub is actually cold. There is nothing deluxe about the so-called Deluxe rooms. They are extremely basic. Shower is in the bathtub so extremely unsafe.
View from the hotel was good and it is away from the hustle & bustle of Kamari beach. However, there is a fairly steep climb from the town/beach to the hotel.

It’s on a hill so to go down to town, you will definitely get a warm workout, specially walking up the hill. It’s about 10 minutes to the beach/shops/bars/restaurants but if you want to be close to the beach, don’t stay here. The rooms were pretty basic too. I stayed here due to the view from the pool but it’s not as a nice view in person. Too pricey compare to others that were even in a better location. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The staff were very pleasant. Everything was cleaned, except that in the toillet, there was a lik of water below the washer. But the rest was amazing. Excelent breakfast. But be carefull with the beach. The picture made think that the beach was right at the back of the hotel. However, you have to go down a hill until getting there. The beaches are terrible. If you don’t know to swin, it is not recommended. Too many stones at the shore and inside the beach. Bring some shoes and floters. Not good for kids because it is too deep inside. But the hotel is beautiful. Excelente attention. Don’t use Uber. The taxy offered by the hotel is less expensive and the drivers knows better all the places. But better to rent a car. The boulevard is amazing. Lot of restaurants in front of the beach and the beds are free. Very relaxing.

This Hotel is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful, on our arrival we given a room next to other member of our family. Our room was clean and comfortable with lovely sea views. The sunrises were beautiful. There are two pools one indoor and one outdoor both are kept spotlessly clean, as are all the communal areas. We had a spacious room that had a large terrace area outside with our own sunbeds. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice. It was a short stroll to the sea front where there were plenty of shops and restaurants. We would definitely return.

This was a very nice reasonably priced hotel in high season.Friendly staff,clean with a lovely pool and nice views down to the sea and beach.The walk uphill can be a bit strenuous in the heat.We had a family room which was spacious with a big terrace area outside also a fridge and sink etc so perhaps could was used as self catering before but no croquery nor cutlery but a kettle was welcome .Good buffet breakfast.We used the bus to get around the Island,bus stop 2 minutes away

The hotel is beautifully located on the mountainside overlooking kamari beach. In minutes you arrive at the beach and boardwalk filled eith restaurants and shops. The hotel offers a decent size outdoor pool (and a small indoor pool). While the hotel looks great on the outside, the rooms are clearly dated. Our room had a closet with a broken door, a poorly functioning shutter and a hair dryer held together with ducttape. Additionally, the bathtub was poorly maintained and covered in calcic residue. Similiarly the \"clean\" towels and bedding was dirty or wet after being changed. Nevertheless, the hotel staff is very friendly and did a great job arranging activities and rentals. Beware that the hotel is located in an area with lots of noise from planes and partying guests

The Epavlis Hotel in Kamari is just perfect all around. The staff was wonderful to us all the time, they are very respectful of the recent COVID rules and yet it's possible for the residents to enjoy every bit of the hotel.
You will see many hotels in Fira and Oia, those are nice places to visit, but the best place to sleep in is definitely Kamari!

Perfect place to stay in all of Santorini. We stayed in more expensive hotels in Oia & Fira but we enjoyed this hotel the most! Amazing views and private balconies are why we booked but had no ideahow AMAZING the complimentary daily freshly would be. This breakfest, views, balcony and lovely people were the best in Santorini! They made are Honeymoon just perfect without even knowing the reason we were there. Shuttle will wait at the airport if you call and the location was a perfect walking distance to the best beach in Santorini. We stayed on the island for 8 nights and explored every inch on our Santoride ATV. Trust me this is the place to be!

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay! The room was spacious and airy, the hotel is CLEAN!! We had massages the afternoon after flying into Greece - highly recommend this for jet lag. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the coffee was perfect and strong (another must for jet lag). A short walk to the beach with lots of great restaurants and little shops.

Disappointing Stay

We booked a STANDARD room from Oct 11-13. However this was the worst hotel we had in our whole Greece trip.

When we returned home, we searched the room info from the website again. We believed the room we had during our stay was UNDER Standard room condition. The room we had was on the ground floor, closed to the restaurant. There was no hill overlooking sea view, no soundproofed with a furnished balcony, no plasma TV. The bath tub leaked, the bathmat could not hold the flooding floor.

There was no breakfast box provided. If you check out before their breakfast serving time (8am), you cannot have any breakfast or coffee.

The location was not convenience. The 10 minutes walk from the bus station back to the hotel is up a bit of an incline. There are a lot of good location hotels out there. We will not book this hotel again and will not recommend to others. There are a lot of good location hotels out there.

The hotel was nice and the facilities were clean. Stay in Santorini in a whole was great but Expedia described our room as having a jetted hot tub but gave us a sea view room in no fault of the hotel.
A little bit of an incline walk back to the hotel but was good to burn all those calories from the great Greek food we’ve had.

Good location close to the beach at Kamari (which is one of the best beaches on the island). Spacious rooms, nice pool with very comfortable sun loungers. Small gym and basic spa facilities. The barman at the pool however is not very good. Poor attitude throughout our stay. Everything appears to be an effort. He was telling us about his falling out with the management and how he wishes to leave! Shame he was there as otherwise it was a decent place. Also we checked in late due to arrival times, bar man checked us in and then we were told the following day after unpacking that we were placed in the wrong rooms and we need to pay an extra 40 euros to stay in them. After not being told this at check in and after already having unpacked we found this very unprofessional.

We booked a deluxe room with jacuzzi on the balcony, was far too cold to use! Photos suggested rose petals and champagne in the room but nothing of any sorts! Breakfast was cold every morning and of poor quality. Our jetted bath tub leaked, bathroom would flood. Bar meant to be open 12 hours never anyone there to serve us

More 3 star than 4. Nice Hotel.

My husband and I had a pleasant stay here at Epavlis. It's listed as a 4 star hotel, but to UK standards it's more of a 3 star. We were given a complimentary room upgrade for the first 2 nights, but then moved into our actual room. Although it was nice to have been upgraded to a deluxe room - which included an unobstructed sea view and jacuzzi (which is cold by the way) - I would have preferred to just have been in our normal sea view room for the week as the move was a bit inconvenient as we had to be out of our upgraded room by 11:30am and couldn't be in our new room until 2:30pm.

Breakfast was okay, it was a varied continental breakfast. Quite a bit of choice for everyone. You could choose to eat outside or inside which was nice.

We were fortunate enough to have WiFi in our room even though they don't advertise the rooms as having it. Only the pool and reception gets WiFi but if you have a sea view room, you're generally near the pool so you can still reach the WiFi. We were in room 101 for the first 2 nights and then room 139 for the last 5.

The hotel is on a steep hill and if you're on a top room like us, like 4/5 flights of stairs. So it does get you a little out of breath when you finally get to your room! It's not that bad though. Most of santorini is on hills anyway so it's almost good exercise!

I don't think I'd stay here again as I'd like to try another hotel to compare, but I would recommend this hotel to first timers. It was nice enough!

Great hotel, perfect location and very clean!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The location was perfect, 5min walk to the beach, beachside, shops and all amenities. Our room was gorgeous with a balcony, jacuzzi outside our room and above all, clean! The premises was beautiful, pool, spa, gym...and the staff were absolutely amazing. Very polite people and were very accomodating. Would absolutely stay again.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 10night at the Epvalis Hotel. A great hotel and situate in a nice quiet location nestled into the corner of mountain.

Only real downside of this great value hotel with excellent views could be the walk up from the beach. It is not far but is quite steep slope and could for anyone frail or disabled.

Service was excellent with bags taken to the room and any minor issues dealt with quickly. The breakfast is excellent and has great variety compared to most B&B hotels with the view from the breakfast room court yard idyllically looking over where the sun rises.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights a couple of weeks ago for our honey moon. We enjoyed staying at this hotel. We found a bottle of champion upon arrival and the room was spacious and very clean. The receptionist Panos was extremely friendly. He made so many good recommendations (e.g. restaurant, place to watch sunset etc.) which made a huge difference to our entire holiday. There are two pools in the hotel. We have tried the outdoor one. It is not particularly big but big enough for us. The pool is open from 8am to 8pm. But the pool bar is open till 11pm. Breakfast is served between 7:30 to 10:30. A very good selection including a variety of cakes, fruits, greek yogurt and various types of cereal but be warned - if you get there after 10am you may find some hot food (fried eggs for example) have already gone - it happened to me twice where I got there just after 10pm and found no fried eggs left, unless you are not a mad fried egg fan and don't do mornings this probably doesn't really matter. Some reviews mentioned about the small hike from the beach. I actually think the hotel is in the best location on the Kamari beach because you are near enough to the beach but far enough from all the noises at night from bars and restaurants which open till 1am. Overall if you would like to have a good night rest (+ not bothered about fried eggs), this is the hotel for you! Ask Panos if you have any questions. He is the most friendliest receptionist we have never met!

Great Hotel - Perfect Location

This hotel look and feels brand new (although it is ~ 9 years old at the time of this review). Hotel staff are super nice and helpful. We arrived at 6:00 am and they offered us beds in their spa room so we could take a nap while they got our room ready. They showed us 3 different rooms until we saw one we liked. The pool and lobby are very nice.

The location is absolutely perfect. It is very quite and relaxing, yet it is a 5 minute walk to Kamari beach, which is an awesome beach and has tons of restaurants and shops. It is a 5 minute walk to the bus station that takes you to Fira and Oia ($1.80 per person).

Wonderful time in Santorini!

We recently traveled to Santorini with an infant and stayed at Epavlis for our time on the island. The hotel was located a short walking distance from the town of Kamari. Check-in staff in the evening was helpful and friendly. Staff during daytime assisted us with several matters on a less friendly basis but still helpful. We had a wonderful time and hope to return to Santorini one day!

Amazing breakfast, two pools, Kamari beach location

I had a great rate from hotels.com; usually it's double. The hotel gave me an Oia, Santorini feel with a quaint balcony and a gorgeous pool (there's also an indoor piscine). The breakfast was the highlight. Greek salad with yogurt, all fresh juices, meats, hot foods -- all can be taken on outside tables. There was no check-out rush, the concierge late at night was very nice (he walked me to my room), and when I stayed at a hotel a block away -- their own staff complimented how nice Epavlis was. Definitely my favorite hotel in Kamari.

It's one of the newer hotels you'll find in Santorini. A quiet hotel. Quite clean. It has a nice view of Kamari Beach. The pool and bar are fine.

It seems with Greece's financial state all hotels are cutting corners. I was under the impression that a triple room was something more than a double room with three beds. We had a room with two single beds and a cot added. The wifi was weak. Not available in the rooms, just the lobby and the pool area (even there it was spotty at times). They shouldn't be allowed to claim a hot tub, spa or fitness room. The hot tub was just lukewarm water and the fitness room was basically a rack of dumbbells.

This place wouldn't qualify as a four-star in the states or western Europe.

Waste of money. Much better hotels on Kamari

No Room Service, No Wifi in the room (hotel confessed), Very expensive (no direct sea view from superior dulex room). It is atleast 200 meters away from Kamari Beach. So its not one of those classic beach hotels.

Ok hotel close to beach but inconvenient from Oia

We ended up paying extra to upgrade. The room they first gave us had toilet running the TV didn't work or wi fi. The beds were hard as a rock. The upgraded room was a little better. The hotel is far from Oia and Fira where all the white buildings are shopping and nightlife. The hill is also daunting.. Overall we were disappointed

pleasantly surprised... we never booked 3 start but due to unavailability of other hotels at Santorini had no choice. Only issue was that internet was really slow and bad network reception in room 135. Overall really good experience.

Recommended for beach lovers

The room is spacious and clean. Good for family or business travellers. Simple but decent breakfast. Location is near the black beach and stretch of cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful hotel with great staff.

Stayed in Kamari for a friends Wedding on the Island. Reception staff did everything they could. Advice on the restaurants, bus service and booked us taxis. The bus service is excellent to all parts of the Island and the bus stop is 2 minutes from the hotel. The town is a very short walk from the hotel and this will take you to a whole strip of shops and restaurants. The beach down this part is quite stony but the water is crystal clear and great for snorkelling. The breakfast is lovely. Greek salads, meats, cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit, pastries, breads but also cooked meat, mushrooms, eggs etc. Rooms clean. Beds comfortable.
The only negative things I can say (and its not really a negative) was the pool was smaller than it looks on the website (still good though) but we were so busy we didn't get much time to use any way. Also some of the rooms have steep stairs so be aware when booking if this will bother you. It did not bother us and the resulting views were amazing!!! A very happy stay. Thank you.

Owner is rude, beds hard, room smelled awful

We arrived to an unfriendly face who I Now realize is the owner of the hotel. She didn't explain much and would barely look at us let alone smile at us when she checked us in. The hotels only saving grace was the younger woman and man that work there. They were super friendly and asked how we were doing and made small talk. The room smelled of BO and the bed was hard as rock. I could barely sleep most nights.

Lovely People, but

The staff couldnt have been nicer, it took us an hour to find the hotel in the car and had to ask 3 people before we could find it. It's at the top of a big hill down to the beach, which is a difficult one when you've had a few and are trying to get to bed. Breakfast wasn't great. Altogether fine. Not amazing, just fine.

Nice hotel terrible service

We stayed at the Epavlis hotel from September 9th to the 13th 2014. The hotel is new and in good condition. Beautiful setting, view of the sea. The biggest downfall to our stay was the total lack of attention to customer service. We were unable to get ice,it was rarely available and when it was they would not give us any for our room. Wifi was virtually non existent. Not once during our stay did we get clean glasses in our room. The air conditioner did not work efficiently for the first 2 days, then when it did, it froze up and flooded the room. We had to remind them every day to bring up toilet paper. There was no help available to carry suitcases up the stairs or into our room. The bar was open from morning til 11pm, however there was rarely anybody staffing it. The breakfast buffet only served instant coffee and a Mediterranean menu. All and all our stay could have been significantly better with some attention to customer service.

Nice hotel, close to everything in Kamari

My husband and me spend our honeymoon in the Epavlis. The hotel is very nice, about 5 minutes walk from the beach and Kamari, its in a quiet area, and we liked that. Its uphill, not too bad, after all the lovely food we were having, we needes that little exercise. Staff was quite friendly, specially the young girl in reception in the mornings.
The room itself was really clean, we had a balcony with a great view of Kamari..bathroom was ok, a bit basic, but very clean. The overall facilities of the hotel were really good.
Breakfast was very varied, I really enjoyed it. Not your traditional full English breakfast, but as Iam Spanish, my husban who is English, did miss his bacon(theres was bacon in a couple of occasios) though i was brilliant, and they kept changing it everyday.

Pleasant hotel near to excellent facilities

Arrive late evening but reception staff were waiting for us and helped us with our luggage. Provided us with an upgraded triple room as I had requested twin beds due to travelling with daughter. Room extremely large and spotlessly clean. Staff very helpful particularly the Barman who had good knowledge and was very helpful and friendly.
Not a true 4 star hotel but a good hotel all the same. Only minor issues would be uncomfortable beds as very hard but you adjust after couple of days and poolside area a bit small so never seemed enough sun beds.
Hotel in good location with excellent facilities in the town

Lovely small friendly hotel with fab views

The room we booked was not available for the first night so we were offered a different room with a Jacuzzi on the balcony with great sea view and told we could keep that room for the week if we paid extra. I loved the room size and Jacuzzi so decided to keep it. I used it as a plunge pool to keep cool as the weather was about 36 degrees when we arrived on 23/8/14. there were also 2 sun loungers on the balcony so we didn't need to move far during the day!

Worst service ever

The room was decent but not extravagant. Considering the price, I expected a much nicer room. I also expected to have wifi in my room, but it was only available in the reception area with an extremely weak signal (only enough to text/email). There are 2 desktop computers in the reception area but neither worked. The hotel is new and the staff seems to be new at running a hotel. The hotel is close to the beach (about a 5-10 minute walk up/downhill). The hotel charges for beach towels and ask that you not take the hotel towels to the beach. The hotel advertises a salon but they do not offer that service. There's very little shopping our tourism in the area. You have to take a taxi or rent a car/moped/ATV (of whom they have a contract with) to get around the island. If you take a tour, the bus does not come to the hotel for pickup nor does the hotel offer a shuttle. You must find your way to the pickup location (the staff consistently gave conflicting information on times and location). There's also a fee for the hotel to provide a shuttle from the ferry to the hotel. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the island from where the port is located. Last but not least, outside of payment for the room, they would not accept a credit card. This is inconvenient because the closest ATM is a 30-45 minute walk unless you rent the ATV/moped.

Misleading advertising on Expedia

We booked last minute accomadation, this hotel showing a superior room discounted from approx $850 per night to $185 per night. Thinking we have snapped a bargain we booked. Imagine our disappointment arriving at this hotel in the wasteland side of Kamari Beach. The 'welcome reception' didn't occur.

Our superior room with sea view overlooked the roof top air conditioning units obscuring the view beyond.

The room itself contained the cheapest mass produced furniture. Two lousy pillows and 2 thin towels completed our first impression.

What I am really objecting to is the inflated price advertised ..this room was worth at best $185 per night.

The whole,experience was grim. I was reprimanded for using our bath towels for the beach and when I asked the pool attendant for towels he pointed to used towels on the sun beds and suggested I use one of them!!!

Expedia should be aware of this misleading advertising on their website.

We only stayed here on the last night of our holiday ... Really nice hotel close enough to the main strip but just far enough away to be away from the noise .. Very clean and comfortable room .. Nice jacuzzi on the patio ... Great facilities in the hotel ... All you might need in the one place .. Highly recommended

Great hotel for a relaxed stay near beach

The hotel is located just at the bottom of the road going to ancient Thera, in the outskirts of Kamari. It's very relaxed, has a nice pool and good sunbeds. The rooms are large, clean, but a little basic. We got a large balcony with a view of the ocean. Great location to watch the sunrise (which was far more beautiful than the sunset that everyone is raving about). Easy access to the beach and lots of restaurants. Ancient Thera is about a 30 min walk up the windy road behind the hotel and offers amazing views of both Kamari and Perissa. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel close to the beach

Near the beach and supermarket, room with jetted tub was definitely worth it. Relatively good value compared to other hotels we looked at. Definitely glad we stayed in Kamari rather than Oia or Fira (no beaches at these places more difficult to navigate).
Staff we quite helpful, can book tours on your behalf.
