I loved my stay here on a beautiful summer day. Great place for walks, view nature, gorgeous views of the lake Vättern. The breakfast was amazing and I took the opportunity to hike down to the lake for a dip. GORGEOUS

Rummet är helt ok överlag, men papperskorgen i vårt badrum var inte tömd och innehöll ett använt trosskydd, så äckligt! Annars var rummet rent och hade en fin utsikt över Vättern. Duschen hade gärna kunnat ha en hylla eller dylikt för egna toalettartiklar. Gardinerna var tjocka men inte av mörkläggningstyp. Restaurangen var ganska dyr och de spelade väldigt deprimerande klassisk musik à la Schindler’s List. Middagen var helt ok, frukosten likaså, men inget speciellt. Även till frukosten spelades sorglig/deppig klassisk musik :/ Personalen i restaurangen var dock jättetrevlig och professionell.

The main building of the Gyllene Uttern looks like a Scandinavian castle. Perched high above Lake Vättern, it has a grand view of the lake, whether from a large terrace, one of its several lounging spaces, a glassed-in dining room, or from rooms facing the lake. It also has a baronial dining room, in which the very good breakfast buffet is laid out. We dined there in the evening, as well, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed comfortable suites overlooking the lake. The one disadvantage is that the old, castle-like hotel does not have an elevator, which made carrying up luggage a challenge, especially as we three couples were of ages 60 to 82. There was no indication of staff to assist with the luggage, which is the reason I gave \"Staff & Service\" 4 stars instead of 5. It has two newer two-story auxiliary buildings, which do have elevators. We have stayed in these before. The rooms are very comfortable, but not as charming as staying in a pseudo castle.

- no toothpaste in reception.
pillow way too small and flat, when asked for more, could only provide 2 extra pillows even though hotel was pretty emtpy.
Glass shatter on bathroom floor.
Too hot in rooms (due to no AC and too many insects outdoors).

Amazing place

An amazing stay; we stayed in room 123, which is the suite with a balcony--and it was so much better than we could have hoped. A sweeping view of the lake, the room was also comfortable and quiet.

I understand why Greta Garbo supposedly stayed there when she visited.

Ett gott och trevligt bemötande i receptionen, rummet var ok - men - hamburgaren vi åt till middag var dyr och direkt osmaklig - frukosten var under all kritik, torr ost, vattnig äggröra, vissna grönsaker och knappt någon frukt m.m. plus att vi stördes av en personal som dammsög mitt under frukosten

The hotel is perfectly located between Malmö and Stockholm and makes an ideal stop if you’re travelling between the 2 cities as we often do. Peaceful with beautiful views! It’s hard to believe you’re so close to the motorway. Friendly staff who are always welcoming. A characteristic main building and a great breakfast. Plenty of chargers on site which is a bonus if you own an electric car. Stayed here many times and will definitely be back!

Restaurangen motsvara inte begärt pris. Knepiga bokninsregler med avgift om utebliven ankomst. Långsam service på restaurangen.efter beställning, även andra gäster klagade.

Hotellet är alldeles för dyrt, där servicen närmast är av motellklass.

Charmigt boende med historia!

Snabb och trevlig incheckning, rummet i annexbyggnad, parkering utanför, dock en liten promenad till huvudbyggnaden för frukost. Fantastisk utsikt från runmet och trevlig inredning. Bra frukost, med varmt, kallt och färsk frukt. Mycket lugnt läge trots närheten till motorvägen.

Hotel med fantastisk beliggenhed.

Rigtig god oplevelse. Dog var malingen på stort set hele loftet på værelset løst og sad i store flager. Udsigten fra værelset og restauranten var dog ualmindelig vidunderlig. Området er desuden meget skøn med byen Gränna og det smukke område Röttle by meget tæt på og som skal ses/opleves.

Sjöutsikt

Fick ett stort fint rum i flygelbyggnaden Andrée med sjöutsikt. Lite lyhört då man hör vad folk säger i korridoren utanför.
Frukosten var helt ok. Dock kan man önska att barnstolarna blev avtorkade lite då och då. Barn har ju en tendens att kladda ner. Tur nog hade jag våtservetter med mig så jag kunde torka rent barnstolen.
Maten på restaurangen var supergod men den var dyr och det var inte speciellt stor portion. Så är man hungrig så lär man gå någon annanstans.
