Friendly guesthouse in a great location, quiet neighborhood near the large church, easy walk to center. Bedroom was small, bed snug for 2 people. Stairs, no elevator. Shared toilet room, shower and kitchen; sink in room was useful. Breakfast was plentiful, and staff packed to-go breakfast night before for early morning departure.

We had a lovely stay at Guesthouse Sunna. The two bedroom apartment had everything we needed. The rooms were a bit hot. It's close to cafes and all the major attractions in the area, and being able to park on site was very convenient!

Positives: The location of the hotel is ideal! It is essentially across the street from the Hallgrimskirkja church and thus much of downtown Reykjavik is easily accessible by foot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Negatives: We were on the second and third floors and used a tiny spiral staircase each day. We only discovered near the end of our visit that there was a second more accessible staircase at the other end of the hotel. Perhaps the staff could have mentioned that?

The Sunna guest house was in a great location, 10 min from the the BSI bus terminal. Near the church. Restaurants and grocery stores nearby.
Quiet location. clean room.The sink in the room was wonderful and useful. Shower and toilet down the hall. Each floor has a eating area with utensils plus a fridge to store your food - nice to have.
We stayed for a quick overnight.
If we are in reykjavik in the future we would absolutely stay there sgain.

Wonderful location, almost next to the big hilltop church. My clean and basic room had a view of that and the lovely sculpture garden across the street. Staff kind and helpful. Nice breakfast with good coffee. Small kitchens here and there for fixing meals.

This guest house has an ideal location, right across from the big church on the top of the hill. There are many, really wonderful restaurants and cafés nearby with an easy walking distance. The staff could not be better. I have stayed here more than half a dozen times.

This was my second time staying here. I was solo in a single with the shared bathroom. I like the location and the parking. The breakfast is standard Icelandic yogurt, toast, cold cuts and coffee. The internet wasn’t great on my laptop but my phone worked well enough to take a Zoom call.

Guesthouse is just across from the Hallgrímskirkja. Making it completely walkable location. we felt safe the entire trip. The bus stop is also just by the hotel you really can’t beat the location. Bathrooms are a bit small if you have a private bathroom but I would stay again as the location was perfect.

Finding lodging in Iceland isn't easy on a budget. So when I saw this \"relatively\" low priced guesthouse, I must say I wasn't expecting much. What a great surprise it was! It couldn't have been any cleaner. No carpets anywhere (carpets in hotels are rarely fresh and clean). It was extremely quiet. There was a balcony. My friend and I were in a room with a shared bathroom and there were only 3 rooms sharing the bathroom. Walking out the front door the big church is just a block away and in full view. We didn't communicate often with the staff but when we did they were extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Everything that we'd wanted to see and do was within 5-15 minutes walk, so perfect location. If I'm ever back in Reykjavik I'll definitely be staying here and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Our flight to Iceland was abruptly cancelled by the airline due to a storm. I phoned Guesthouse Sunna to inform them that it would be impossible for us to arrive and requested that to cancel the booking. They stated a two-day advance notice for cancellations and charged my card for one night without any consideration of the circumstances.

I am disappointed by Guesthouse Sunna. It seems their primary concern is financial rather than the well-being of their customers.

My sister and I very much enjoyed our stay here. It was across from a beautiful sculpture park, and the Hallgrimskirkja church! It was the perfect location to get all of the tour busses (bus stop 8). I would definitely recommend Guesthouse Sunna to anyone

We accidentally checked the \"poor\" box, when we meant to check \"excellent.\" DUH!

We stayed here for five nights and loved it. The staff was amazing—extremely pleasant and helpful, always taking time to answer our questions. We found one woman (the Manager, we think) to be so gracious and accommodating. For example, we asked for two extra pillows and they were delivered in 30 seconds!

Our room was on the ground floor, and it was so quiet and private and within a few feet of the free parking which was another asset provided by Sunna.

The beds were perfect, especially the down comforters. We couldn’t get the TV going but we never asked for assistance. After all, why watch TV when in Iceland??? It makes much more sense to roam the streets and pet the kitties of Reykjavik!

And there is not a better location: within a stone’s throw of the iconic Lutheran Cathedral and all the good shops and restaurants in the downtown area.

We’ll definitely be back!

The room is clean and self sufficient. Very convenient to walking to the city center.

It was a little tricky getting into the guest house because it was not clear that there are two buttons to access the door. After traveling for eighteen hours, we were not at our best and did not make the connection. Once we figured that out, it all made sense.

The guest house was easy to find - all you need to do is look up to find the large church and start walking up.

We appreciated being allowed to store gratis our 4 suitcases when we arrived @ 0900 but could not officially check in until 3 PM -- an elevator would have made getting the bags to & from our 3rd floor room easier.

The guesthouse was fine except for their water. It has a lot a sulfur in it and in my opinion is undrinkable and smells alot. So after you take a shower you smell like it! I wouldn't stay there again based on that.

A group of 5 of us came to run in the Reykjavik Marathon and Sunna was spacious, clean, and comfortable with many amenities and a responsive desk staff. It is also in a great location where most of the restaurants and grocery stores were within walking distance. Would stay there again.

Small rooms and a shared bathroom but if you're just there to sleep when you're not out exploring Reykjavik it's pretty much perfect, the location is right smack in the middle of town, lots of things only a 5 minute walk away. Also close to camping and car rental spots. Easy check in check out process too.

Incredible location! We were right across the street from the giant Hallgrímskirkja church and were able to walk to all of the things to see and do in Reykjavik. That church was also the pickup spot for all of our day trip tours around the rest of the country, so it couldn't have been any more convenient. We were able to walk a block for coffees and pastries before getting our 8am buses each morning. Room, shared bathrooms and common spaces were all clean and welcoming!

We loved the close proximity to the church so we could wait in a warm place and rest our jet-lagged bodies while waiting for check in time. One chair in our room (faux black leather) was in very poor shape and saggy. Could do with one more seat in better shape. Was surprised to have to pay for shampoo and soap. Excellent selection of free guidebooks.

We loved the deluxe room and the great location, with a view of the church from our window! It was difficult getting luggage to the upper floors 2
(Only 2nd floor for us), and this facility could benefit from an elevator. If you have only carry-on luggage, it’s probably not much of a problem.

The breakfast area was sunny and bright, but the breakfast itself was extremely limited and lacking. The facility should add some additional choices.

Despite the breakfast and luggage issues, we enjoyed staying here, due to the location and the quality room and facilities.

I stayed one night at Sunna and was there just long enough to sleep, but the venue was a standout nonetheless. My room was spacious, and clean, had a lovely private bath and the best shower I'd had in my 8-day/7-night tour of Iceland. I wasn't there long enough to enjoy the common spaces but was really amazed by the offerings. Additionally, communication was great throughout; inquires were quickly answered and after-hours check-in instructions were incredibly clear. And they were so flexible about things like a delayed checkout and a request to keep my car in their lot for an additional hour after check-out. I loved everything about this guest house.

For a hotel as costly as this - they can provide shampoo and soap. Also, they ran out of breakfast by 8:00am. Having been a hotel for some time, they should know how much food they need. Yes, they gave us nearby bakeries that they recommended…. Which turned out to be great because a great breakfast was half the price of what the hotel charged.

So understand that you are living in a dormitory, akin to university or college housing with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The room was spacious enough and the cleaning staff are organized and consistent. I found the bed to be somewhat comfortable. Tje room could afford a couple more plugs for power.

We stayed here for 3 nights after a 5 night Laugavegur trail trek. It was great! Easy to access after hours, they have a small laundry room that was much needed after the hike. Perfect location for walking into town and visiting the shops, restaurants, etc. Would highly recommend.

The location for this hotel or “guesthouse” is excellent. You can throw a rock and almost hit the prominent Hallgrimskirkja church on the hill. More importantly, you’re 1 minute from one of the 2 main streets of the city (which also takes you downtown).

The staff were all very friendly and helpful with information. They even tracked my flights coming in for arrival, which was important given I actually got delayed and held over in another city..

The room itself is pretty small and the bathroom even smaller. It works, but for $200 a night it’s not cheap. There’s no real amenities here, but it works for an overnight or two. Just don’t expect the Marriott level of comfort and style.

Everything met my expectations and the staffing supplied any special assistance I needed! The location on Sunna Guesthouse is central to main shopping streets, beautiful Hallgrimskirkja Church, tour and siteseeing bus stop #8 and the best restaurants in town (shout out Cafe Loki, Skal, Braud & Co. and Reykjavik Roasters) I loved the breakfasts and the classic Icelandic spartan quality of facility and service!
