Dear all at the Kumarakom Lake Resort,
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your wonderful Lake Resort. Everyone at the resort, from start to finish, was ever so helpful.
We especially enjoyed the gardens and the meandering pool the most. The afternoon tea in the garden and all the activities programmes arranged at the resort are excellent. The evening sunset trip on the lake and the music on the boat added to our enjoyment.
A special mention of Kavi – his expertise with the camera phone was phenomenal and thought-provoking (at least to me!).
Our dining experience at the multi-cuisine restaurant, with the variety of food offered and the quality of service, was amazing.
Please convey our thanks to all your staff for making our stay memorable.

Excellent resort to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Calm, beautiful, delicious food and enough local activities from the resort for the 2 nights we were there. The front office were very welcoming from the start of our visit to the end of our stay.

We indulged in the houseboat cruise which was bliss. And we also did the sunset cruise with Kavi and the musicians who entertained us really well. Kavi is very charismatic and obliged with taking memorable photos and clips! Thanks to all the staff.

Absolutely phenomenal property. There is a lot to do from fishing and kayaking to pottery and cultural programs. The staff too was exceptional. I regret not getting staff members names as they were very thoughtful and helpful. Highly recommend spending a few days at this resort.

Meandering channels/streams, lovely lakeside view, uniquely Keralite construction of buildings with great details and yesteryear charm, very Kerala-type cusine which is delicious and spicy with alternatives available for thise who need, idyllic charm of the property, extremely attentive staff etc. Different from our European vacations which have been always great. Worth the money and the long trip.

Best place to stay in Kumarakom

this is my third time stayed at the hotel. My view experience has not changed. Very well maintained hotel. I went two weeks after the devastating floods and the hotel was up and running, no sign of any damage. i reached early and was granted an early check in as requested. Though they informed that the hotel was not flooded. Stayed in the heritage lake view villa with private pool. Cant call it a pool though. very small. its a large jacuzzi. The room is well appointed, spacious. My AC wasnt working well and was attended to immediately. Of the two restaurants, one was out of service due to maintenance and repair work. the only problem with the room is too many scattered switches. its required to have one master switch for all the lights in the room.over all a very super experience.

Great Heritage Resort

Nice heritage resort with interesting historical architecture. The pool villas were spacious and comfortable. If you like antiques the decor will appeal to you. The staff are very attentive and helpful with everything. The food is excellent. The price is steep for India but the location and amenities make it worth while if you want to treat yourself to something special. Overnight on the resort Houseboat was fantastic.

Heaven on Earth. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights although we wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived at 9am and our room was unexpectedly made available at 10am even though we hadn’t informed the hotel in advance. We only ate in the Seafood Restaurant so can’t comment on the buffet, service was excellent and the food was very tasty. There was a long happy hour, 11am-5pm with 241 on locally produced alcoholic drinks. Afternoon tea is complimentary and the sunset cruise is a must, the local musicians were very calming.

Excellent hotel, service spot on. Beautiful gardens, villa very nice and well maintained. area nice too for backwaters and hotel has a great private backwater trip you can do. THey also do a complimentary sunset cruise on the lake. We had a lake view villa with private pool. Very nice but bear in mind that the pool is at the back of the villa and for privacy surrounded by high wall. no lake view from private pool but still very nice to have and to relax. It also had a jacuzzi. If would probably requested villa no. 106 for return visit. The 'meandering pool villas' also looked nice but i think you would need to request unit 144 which had fab lake view and private shady gazebo. Food excellent - both restaurants were very good and we noticed a higher quality of food here compared with other hotels we had visited (4 and 5*). Great place to relax after a tour of the region. Would certainly recommend.

Excellent from start to finish. Wow!

This place is amazing! The location is stunning, right on the lake front and surrounded by beautifully kept grounds. We really enjoyed the activities as well as the facilities. We had a room with private pool, which was brilliant! The rooms are very clean and incredibly comfortable. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. We loved the sunset boat trip and the Ayurvedic treatments that we tried were brilliant. We ate in the seafood restaurant which had some incredible food. We would thoroughly recommend.

Fabulous resort hotel

As soon as you arrive through the gates you realize you are coming to something special- in this case a huge estate full of bungalows with private pools or as we had touching the seeming 150m meandering pool which was a delight to follow for an evening dip. That in addition to affinity pool , 3 restaurants, gym, evening cruise, afternoon tea, free bikes (though riding outside resort wasn’t a good experience as anyone using local roads will understand) and even clay modelling. The restaurants and spa were excellent and there was even a free early morning yoga class! We were very comfortable in our chalet like bungalow and had a great time. Hope to come back.

A fabulous experience in a beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. Of all the 7 hotels we used in India this was the only one that did not over promise and under deliver. The whole layout of the hotel in beautifully kept gardens was spectacular and the staff were excellent. Wine is expensive.

Fantastic hotel in a beutiful setting in Kerala

This hotel is one of the nicest we stayed in in Kerala. We had a room that had direct access to the pool. The room was nice and big (maybe a bit dark) but access to the pool and the outdoor bathroom was definitely a bonus. The free sunset cruise was a nice touch. The food was good and I'd highly recommend the seafood restaurant over the buffet in the evening (actually cheaper) - the squid starter was delicious! Staff incredibly helpful and polite.

Beautiful \"old world Kerala\" property by the lake.

Well maintained grounds, beautiful gardens and paths and the construction is fashioned as traditional Kerala home villas. This is a must stay property. Food was good and they have lots of activities for the families. The staff is pleasant but not uniformly friendly and not everyone is attentive as other places. I feel they could work on this piece. It seemed some were not happy working at the property and were just getting by. All that being said, I would return to this resort and wish I could have stayed longer than I did. Well worth it!

The hotel is exceptionally maintained with the meandering pool starting at the double doors leading from your bedroom and meandering to each and every individual room in the complex. The rooms are rustic and of high quality, we have stayed here three times and would not hesitate to stay again.

Did not meet expectations

I was really excited about staying at this beautiful resort. However, our expectations were not met. The resort itself is beautiful and the property is kept in excellent condition. However, the areas that were not satisfactory were the food and the hotel room. We had dinner at both of the hotel restaurants as well as breakfast that was included as part of the rate. The dinner at the seafood restaurant was nice but the portion were very small. I ordered a main entree of shrimp in a spicy sauce which I was told was a delicacy of the area. When the dish arrived, I barely had any shrimp in my dish. I told the waiter but he said he was sorry and it should have contained 150 grams of shrimp. Unfortunately, nothing was done to resolve my complaint and I left the restaurant hungry. There were lots of options at the breakfast but the food did not taste that good. I felt that the service of the staff was also not that personal.

The hotel room and bathroom was very large. However, the bed was not comfortable at all and the rugs and chairs in the room were extremely dirty. I don't know if any of the rugs on the floor were ever cleaned.

We had come from another 5 star resort in Goa and I felt that I would receive comparable service at this resort. It is one of the most expensive resorts in Kumarakon but I felt that we overpaid for the level of service and food. Unfortunately, I would not return back to this resort nor would I recommend it.

Truly a wonderful retreat - will hope to return

From start to finish our stay was very enjoyable. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful, they even managed to book a train trip for us which at such late notice was no mean feat! The food was delicious, the room beautifully decorated and the amenities extremely well maintained.
We took the complimentary sunset cruise and did a cooking class which was a lot of fun.

Definitely a great place to stay. I stayed just before the peak season. Thus got a good package. This property is slightly on the higher range considering the rest of the players.

My family enjoyed.
The food, the ambience the jacuzzi pool, the seafood.
Ya the Seafood restaurant was a great place and the people there too were really great.
