Average with terrible wifi

There are only 2 main streets in Sparta and this hotel is on one of them. It's about a mile from the main bus station (18 minute walk?). It's an older hotel and the photos they posted with the nice lighting at Christmas are not correct. They don't have the lights on during the day, so it doesn't look that nice when you're there in the daytime. It reminds me of a 70s office building converted into a hotel. The rooms need updating. The wifi sucks! They need more powerful boosters. The breakfast, if they decide to serve a buffet (I don't know what the determining factors are), looked decent. I got a room with 2 single cots in it, and the beds were firm and supportive, which I like. The customer service at the front desk was polite and respectful. There's a front patio with chairs facing the street. I think most rooms have a balcony, but not all have chairs. There's a mini fridge and a safe in the room. The overall location is ok, but a slight .3 of a mile walk to most restaurants, grocery stores, and bars. No pool, parking possibly on the main street.

My parents stay at this hotel every year and now I know why! It is centrally located, clean and the hospitality is wonderful. The staff went above and beyond during our stay. We got to the hotel early and they let us into our room to drop off our items. To my surprise they had already set up the crib for our stay (I usually have to remind hotels). My father had asked the lady at the front desk were to get some speciality syrup for baking, she didn't know at the top of her head but said she would make a phone call. Well not only did she make a phone call, she got it delivered to the hotel! My family visits Sparta once a year and we will definitely be going again.

An excellent middle range choice

An excellent, well-decorated, confortable hotel, with large rooms close to the centre of Sparta. The only, minor, drawback was the old TV set with only a few local channels. We payed 5 euro each for a tasty and varied buffet breakfast, including greek yoghurt, local marmalade and honey. The cost is very reasonable for Greece.

Location was great. The counter was incredibly helpful. Virtuous and friendly. Went out of her way to help in excursion Decisions The room was in poor shape. an overwhelming Oder of perhaps cigarette smoke resulted in a headache. Open doors did not help. Was my Only concern but it’s worth mentioning.

I booked 3 rooms for 3 couples. This hotel has it's ups and downs. The pictures are definitely deceiving. Everything about the rooms are beat and threadbare. The breakfast was as weak as the rooms - sour milk for the coffee and beat olives and cucumbers that looked like they sat out all night. That said, the rooms were very clean and the rates are cheap. Downtown Sparta is a good location if you're visiting Mystras and want to avoid the higher priced rates there. It's a 2 minute drive to get to Mystras from Sparta. Not sure I'd book there again because its run down, but if all you care about is cleanliness and cold AC and want a cheap hotel than this is for you. Also the staff was friendly.

The staff was nice and friendly. The hotel facilities and room are old, carpet everywhere that smells bad, but the sheets and towels looked cleaned, which is the essential.
I recommend the hotel to remove all carpets, it would help with the smell.
Overall it's an ok stay.

Overall, my experience was great here. The hotel is a bit dated, but it was well located in the city.
My only problem is that someone was smoking down in the lobby during sleeping hours (11am-7am) and the smell of cigarettes wafted up to my floor. The smell was soooo bad that I was unable to sleep. To be honest, it made me a bit sick.

When we arrived we were initially given a small twin room, which was OK, but within minutes the staff member came to move us to a higher floor and bigger three person room. There was free cold water in the fridge replaced daily. Sparta is a small town, and the hotel was well located. We ate in the Kapari twice in the central square, which was great with complimentary desserts. Museum worth a visit, and we also we went to the Museum of the Olive which was very interesting and well displayed. Driving is terrible in Sparta; not clear who has right of way at junctions! Parking not a problem. Greek certified breakfast was good.

Largish hotel on the main road, so very easy to find. Caters for student tour groups so lobby can get crowded. My room 56 overlooked the road but it was very quiet. The view of the surrounding mountainsfrom the balcony is stunning. Stayed one night and found everything very satisfactory. Shower head fixings are always a problem is basic hotels, Dioscuri is no exception but the water pressure and temp are great. Didn't have breakfast as the diner was full of school kids: they were fine, just a lot of them. Just turn left and a short walk downtown gets you whatever food you like from cafes, restaurants or shops. Everything else museums, acropolis etc is also a short walk away. Staff were friendly and efficient. A convenient, clean relatively new hotel excellent for a short stay.

Amazing deal.

Great hotel, convenient for everything except parking. Because of construction, the lot visible on Google's satellite imagery is not actually available. I learned the system of colored lines the hard way (by getting a parking ticket). Blue is for residents only. Red is by the hour and cards are purchased from kiosks. Apparently anywhere is fair game outside of business hours, but the exact hours depends on the day. I chose to park 3-4 blocks away and not chance another ticket. There aren't many staff members, but they were all friendly and the main guy I saw (the owner?) spoke enough English to help me with the parking and answer questions. Breakfast was pretty standard for Europe/Greece. They gyro/souvlaki place around the corner allowed me to save money on food. Supermarket was only half a block further.

I used the hotel as a base from which to explore the Argolid. I specifically chose to stay in Argos instead of the more touristy Nauplio. It's more centrally located and more authentic. Sadly, the Archaeological Museum in Argos was still closed at the beginning of June 2016. The street market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings is also convenient and worth a visit.

En recepcionista no supo situar el Hotel en el mapa , la habitaccion deprimente de vieja y usado todo , el secador de pelo no iba , el balcon tenia un corredor que podian acceder de la finca de al lado , si voy sola no duermo alli, y el dessyuno un desastre , servido a cuenta gotas y mal , cafe frio leche no , te ponen crema fria en fin me siento estafada x 90€ que pague por 1 noche para 2 personas no corresponde , calidad precio , y medidas de seguridad Covic 0 , cuando nos ibamos una mujer mayor con mascarilla bajada diciendome que apartara y la recepcionista no le dice jo nada , me tuve que descarar yo , insistiendole que se pusiera la mascarilla , al igual que distintas personas salian del ascensor sin mascarilla y viendolas no les decian nada , una verguenza de Hotel

Hôtel très moyen . Simple vitrage aux fenêtres côté rue. Le plafond des chambre et brut de béton. Volet ou rideau non occultant. On peux voire la nuit les phares des voitures passé. Peux de prise électrique. Cependant le personnel est accueillant. Hôtel en plein centre ville pratique pour le soir et pas de problème pour ce garer dans les rues alentours
