What a super little hotel!
Upon arrival, we received a warm Scottish welcome and were shown up to our rooms. It may be the narrowest detached hotel in the world but the rooms aren't lacking in space. The following morning we had a good Scottish breakfast before heading north on our journey.

A quirky and unique hotel being famously narrow

Unique hotel being so narrow. Consider ourselves lucky getting the front room on first floor. A large room with view onto town center, perfect. Parts of the public areas are showing signs of tiredness but that doesn’t detract from its charm

Probably won’t stay here again

Food was not available when we arrived as it’s now not served on a Wednesday. We did not have the breakfast but it was as available at an extra £9 each. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was so small that the washbasin was in the bedroom. The extractor fan was very noisy.

Hotel was recommended to us and we were not disappointed possibly fortunate to have been offered a larger first floor room in a unique hotel. Once we figured out the bedside lamp switch (ask the staff) our time here went quickly. Location on main street on a warm town event filled weekend but external noise didn't interrupt good night sleep. Breakfast great with add ons and take outs catered for. Only downside to the place, in common with many older properties is the abundance of stairs. Would we go back yes no hesitation.

Pleasant Comfortable hotel.

Very pleasant stay in Moffat. The famous star has Very welcoming and friendly staff. My hotel room was comfortable and had plenty of space. The shower in my room took a little while to get hot, but it did warm up after a few minutes. (Although I know some other guests did have trouble getting hot water).
I had dinner in the hotel which was very nice, and breakfast in the morning was plentiful, and hearty.

Excellent and friendly service at arrival. The property was very clean and the rooms/bathroom very roomy for the narrow property. Well appointed toiletry items and coffee/snacks. Loved that parking was pretty easy and free in town (we parked right in front of the hotel). Didn't have time to have a bite or pint in the bar, but will next time!

One night stopover

Used this hotel as a stop off en route to Grantown on Spey, it’s about the halfway point for my journey. Very friendly staff, very clean room, breakfast was not for me as it was too greasy, but that might have been just me. I would stay again but not for breakfast. Indian restaurant a couple of doors away was good, but the menu in hotel did look very nice, I just fancied a curry after a few beers.

A No 1 place to stay.

The whole stay was perfect, the room had everything you needed.
The food ( breakfast/dinner )was superb so was the drink selection including a real ale.
Will definitely stay here again, highly recommend it.

Quaint small hotel in a beautiful small Scottish City. It was comfortable, warm, clean room. Restaurant and bar downstairs, we were in the middle floor. If you can get the top floor bedrooms, if not, you'll hear the squeaking floorboards above you as people walk around. Other than the squeaking, the stay was perfect, staff were great. Nice place to walk around outside. Plenty to eat and enjoy a small community.

We missed the hotel on our first pass following Google instructions. It does have a very narrow frontage! When we spotted it, there was a space in the fee parking just opposite. Our room was small but had a comfortable large bed. It was hot weather, but the window was easy to open to get some air through. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The steak pie and local beer were both excellent. We left early so didn't have breakfast. Moffat has a very attractive town centre with plenty of interesting shops and signposted walks.

We really liked the location and the bar meal and breakfast were excellent. All was clean, and the small twin room was comfortable. The bathroom was small but everything worked fine. I liked the quirkiness of the building, but my partner focused on the the fact that it needs an update and the wifi did not work well in our room. The staff were efficient and very friendly. It seems overpriced, but then everything is at the moment. We parked just outside in the public parking area. I would stay again but my partner felt differently because of the erratic wifi.

We liked the old fashioned look, especially the staircase. wonderful. Now i hsve the following complaints. I believed the booking was for a twin room and included a cooked breakfast each. On arrival we were told the breakfast was £9.50 extra each (almost £20..00 extra) Then taken to our room (luggage carried for us ) which had two beds fastened together and not enough space around them. I believe there were other better rooms available that night. The breakfast was well cooked and good value. It was served to us by a very helpful member of staff, .However she coughed very alarmingly and seemed to have a cold. This took place during all the covid proceedures and was very worrying to say the least.

Hotel is a little tired, as is the staff. Nobody I encountered smiled at any point of my stay. Shame really. Don’t let them put you in room 5, tv doesn’t work and Wi-fi almost non-existent. On a positive note the shower Emma’s excellent. Had high hopes for such an iconic building but sorry, won’t be back.

Conveniently located hotel in the centre of Moffat. Friendly staff, good rooms, mine was at the top/back, but was plenty for me with a good clean bathroom, large double bed and all the expected facilities. Great bar and restaurant on site, and lots of choice in the town. Huge cooked breakfast this morning, and lots of choice - will keep you going all day. Very good value all in & i wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. Lots of free parking right outside & all around the very pretty town.
