Peaceful Mountain Retreat

We had a gorgeous view of the mountains. When I opened our window, I could hear the sounds of a small waterfall, and the chimes of the bells on the flock of sheep grazing at the foot of the mountain. It was idyllic.

Breakfast needs better organisation

Very good couple of nights but few things we didn’t like namely having to book a time slot for breakfast also the breakfast service needs better organisation.
Despite having time slots presumably to manage demand crockery particularly cereal bowls were often unavailable and there was no hot food ( bacon or eggs ) for self service on the buffet but all cooked to order which took a while .
Finally the coffee in pots given to each table was lukewarm and tasteless .

It is right next to the funicular. Also, next to a couple of walking and hiking paths. Upstairs, there is a sitting area where you can sit with family and enjoy a bottle of wine or a game of cards…. And the staff is very friendly.

Great place and views and food. Some reception staff, not all, seemed to resent questions, even though we are Spanish speakers. Carpets are terribly stained for such a nice place. Restaurant staff were great. We would stay again.

The Parador was outstanding in every way. We had all meals in the hotel restaurant. Picked up a delicious picnic lunch for a day of high alpine trekking. Our room had an enclosed balcony with stunning views of the picos.

Great parking. Scenic location. Warm rooms.Charming period style room with excellent mountain view sun room balcony. Well maintained & clean. But...difficult luggage access. Requiring both lift and stair access. Reception staff came to room to guide and offered help though. No kettle,cups or tea coffee facilities. Unwanted mini bar though. Restaurant severely limited tables so strict booking time for dinner and breakfast were required or would not be available. Unclear on what was included on our half bord deal. Restaurant staff did their best enthusiastically but not enough of them per guest numbers so overwhelmed at times leading to poor attention particularly at breakfast. \"Gourmet\" ( pay extra!) dinner options very poorly cooked first night but OK second night. Chef certainly not luxury parador standard as expected. Bar very small & crammed with overspill diners who couldn't get restaurant bookings. So it was difficult to get served. We retreated to the huge guest sitting room which had zero atmosphere or facilities. Tables were full of used glasses, etc. from pre dinner drinkers. Very poor standard. We sat in bedroom with no after dinner refreshment.

Amazing location, friendly staff, great food.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated at the end of a spectacular drive through the Picos natural park. The surroundings are so beautiful. Inside the traditional fixtures add to the ambience. It is quiet and spacious. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Room was large, comfortable and with an amazing view. We stayed half board and the meals were delicious. Great menu choices and plenty of local gastronomy and artisan products. A brilliant end to our Spanish road trip!

Amazing value for this property! If you like spending time up in the mountains and enjoy time in small villages, this is the place for you. We were extremely pleasantly surprised by the hotel and could not believe this was not listed as a 5 star. Breakfast was delicious as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Fab few days away

Totally loved our stay here, our room overlooked the mountain which was peaceful until the sheep came with their bells on but it added to the character of the hotel. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfy.
Would definately return and make sure you take a ride on the cable car

Beautiful Parador in the mountains

Very nice Parador in the mountains. We got room with balcony and it was beautiful, large room and bathroom, comfortable bed, great service at restaurant and breakfast room.
The girls at the reception also very nice and attentive.

The hotel is wonderful in every way. The views outside my window were alone worth the visit! It is truly a breathtaking place. But the hotel itself is wonderful: clean, very well appointed, with large rooms and bathrooms, and comfortable beds. It is elegant but not over the top. The staff provides great service. The menu was also excellent, even if the breakfast choices were not extraordinary.

I highly recommend it. It is a long drive to get to this hotel, but the views are astonishing, making the drive a beautiful adventure. If you can come on a motorcycle, even better! The roads are just perfect for riding in spring, summer or early fall.

Lovely setting bizarre service

Lovely rooms, fabulous setting but service mixed. Dinner expensive for what it was and bizarre system of service where all bookings ar for 8.30 pm and so half the room (it’s big) sitting waiting to order while the rest already have their food. Breakfast at 19 euros is very expensive but not really other options. Again, service slow although staff friendly.

Perfect location to visit the National Park. The cable car is right across the street. Nice breakfast and good Covid protocols. Staff was very friendly. The hotel has an antique flare to it and would use new carpet and re-grout on the bathroom tiles. It’s kept clean.

Amazing views

Very comfortable old-fashioned hotel. The location is spectacular if difficult to access without your own transport. There’s a website for communicating with the staff, booking for breakfast etc but this whilst a good idea doesn’t work that well in practice (for instance, it gives you the option of room service and a room service menu when this service is not available in this location). The food in the restaurant was not very exciting.

Spectacular Setting

Parador Fuente De was quite remote but the setting of this parador was stupendous as peaks of the Picos de Europa towered over the bowl that the parador sat in. We had a very nice room and view, thought our our late lunch was quite good and the breakfast spread was terrific (better than a number of other paradores that we have stayed at). We came here mostly for hiking and it was quite an adventure to take the cable car to the top and hike back to the parador.

Hotel in the mountains

A purpose-built Parador (i.e., not a restoration or renovation) sitting in a privileged position at the foot of the Picos de Europa mountains. Great scenery. Entirely comfortable 3-star property. Shares the end of a good road from tourist town of Potes with one other hotel and the funicular to the mountain top behind the hotel. Good buffet breakfast. Restaurant keeps late Spanish hours for dinner, and no good options for eating earlier (very limited \"snacks\" at their cafeteria).

Due to bus arrival, restaurant fully booked and only alternative offered was the bar. We found a hotel with restaurant right across the road- it would be nicer if that advice was offered or an arrangement made with the hotel, given the Parador restaurant was fully booked.

We loved the accessibility to a multitude of nature and hiking trails. What we did not like was the lack of language skills by the staff given the international clientele the hotel services. Room decor and beds need to be refreshed. Lastly, because many of the guests are coming to take enjoy the world class hiking, having a drying room and area to wash off hiking boots would have been functional and most appreciated.

The hotel was easy to find with a huge car park. We liked the location , at the foot of the mountains and near to the Fuente De cable car. The staff were mostly helpful and our room was very clean with good facilities, consistent with other Paradors. We dined in the hotel both nights we stayed there. The food was good but expensive. Breakfasts were excellent even by the usual excellent Parador standards, with loads of choice and good quality.

Superb views.

The hotel staff was super friendly, the location superb for the Funicular to Picos de Europa (next door). Hotel kitchen was not in line with other Paradores, food was limited and bland and there were no more choices nearby. Squeaky floors were madness but the view took most of the pain out of it! Superb.

Location: WOW!! Nature: WOW!! Hotel at first glance: WOW!! Very charming and rustic. Perfect fit in that region. But it’s a little dated. Especially the bathrooms. Loose tiles, everything is old-ish and dated. Definitely good do with a renovation. But staff was very friendly. Food good. I think it has a lot more potential to it than what is being offered

Great location but quite off season

Two hotels up by the cable car station this one and a family run one. This is big with expensive food and bar without a Spanish beer on tap. Rooms are big clean and warm. Common areas swish and large to cope with peak season visitors. Friendly reception, we were one of three sets of guests that day so perhaps not a good test for when busy. Breakfast very expensive at 17 euros a head but copious. Monday night off season nothing else in the local villages is open for food but the hotel Rebeco opposite was warm, welcoming and half the price but don't expect gourmet dining.

Beautiful Fuente De. Parador was in an ideal location to explore the Picos range near the base of the cable car. It is a nice building with spacious room and I loved the terrace area looking to the grass area. The only thing is that the dining options are pretty much limited due to the remoteness and dining in the parador is expensive.

Very disappointing. The location is just spectacular, this promised to be a luxury destination but facility isn't up to it. The windows do not have screens so you must rely on the air conditioning, which I was told by staff shuts off at night as the system is too loud. So you're stuck in a room overnight with no ventilation unless you want to let the mosquitos in. The layout of the hotel is also bizarre, it's a warren of stairways and landings, and what would be the best views are taken by support buildings in the middle of the complex. Our room, which had one of the better views, happens to over look the overflow car parking for the cable car, so though this is not the hotel's fault it's just another detraction from the experience. This could be Jackson Lake Lodge but it's more parking lot motel without air conditioning.

Restaurant was pricey but quite good; service typically spotty. I waited 30 minutes in the outside cafe waiting for a drink I ordered twice to never arrive. There are better less pricey options nearby.

Internet didn’t work, they said because of satellite issues, but across the road at Hotel Rebeco, internet was working well. Also, hotel was under-staffed. Awesome location, comfortable and beautifully furnished, but an overwlmed staff and food was not particularly good and very overpriced.

Beautiful views from everywhere

Loved our stay. Great staff, very nice room and excellent food. Took the cable car to the top and wished we could walk down. Unfortunately we did not have enough water. The path down is about eight miles, but the walking seemed pretty easy, but you do need sufficient water. Would love to return.
