Was really disappointed in our stay. The pictures looked wonderful, our room was not. The floors were disgustingly dirty (like left dirty foot prints in the shower dirty). Furniture was stained horribly and the inside of the bathtub had even been painted. Breakfast consisted of bagels with no toaster, waffles, and oatmeal. I had high hopes, I love historic buildings, but we will not be back.

This is definitely a historic hotel. Unfortunately, the shower head had black mold and it was leaking pretty badly. The staff did everything in their power to fix the situation. They moved out room over and then decided to move us to a suite. Unless you're about 5 feet tall, there was no getting under that shower head to shower properly. There was Chinese food left in the refrigerator that stink pretty badly. The blanket was not on the bed either. Not such a great experience.

This is the worst place I've ever booked. I saw the rooms and couldn't stay. It was full of dirt and mould. Actual faeces on the floor. The staff were terrible and didn't care about how mouldy it was. They were rude and shouted at me. The concierge wore no shirt. It is laughably bad. Ended up booking somewhere else down the road. Worst hotel I've ever seen. They should be ashamed but didn’t seem to care.

As someone who truly appreciates history, I found this stay to be incredibly charming. The Inn has a rich historical feel, and that character is very much part of the experience…which I personally loved. The parking is conveniently located right in front of the Inn, and the air conditioning worked well, which made the stay comfortable. It’s important to come with the right expectations, this is a historic property, and while some updates have been made, it doesn’t have every modern upgrade we’re all used to. A little patience and understanding go a long way..but in return, you get a unique and authentic experience. The location is wonderful..very central, with a beautiful park nearby, along with pickleball and tennis courts. The surrounding neighborhood is perfect for walking, with lovely homes and a peaceful atmosphere.

Overall, a charming stay for anyone who enjoys historic properties and their unique character.

This place was very run down and the hot water ran cold when someone in the building flushed the toilet. There was a lamp that didnt plug into anything or turn on, and you could hear everything outside the door as well as above the room including running water from the shower upstairs. Will not be visiting again.
Gordan ramzy needs to see this place, because it would his biggest project yet.

From outside it looks like a hotel with charm and history but inside is not so charming. No hot water, no parking during festival, room not clean and not cleaned, smelly carpets, very run down hotel. Only good thing is they had a full sweep of DirecTV channels and I was able to watch the G1 Grand Prix - also convenient for Sugar Festival

I should have read the other reviews before booking this hotel. This is a very old, historic hotel and it could be absolutely beautiful IF the owners and management cared. However, it was so dirty they should probably fire their cleaning staff. The bathroom wall tiles were dirty as was the sink and bathtub. I turned on the water in the tub and the water that came out initially was yellow and it stirred up black particles in and around the drain. Thankfully we were there only one night because I skipped the shower. The bathroom door didn't close because the door was too big for the frame.
As for the staff, the two at the front desk were young ladies and never once did they smile or acknowledge people as they walked by. When we arrived at 3pm, the street and parking lot were completely blocked off. We didn't realize the Sugar Festival was going on right in front of the hotel. We parked a few streets over and called the hotel to ask where we should park. We were told, \"Park in front and when you come in we'll give you a parking pass\". I told her the street was blocked off and we couldn't park in front. I would think she should have known that since it had been closed all day. She then told us to find a place to park and they'd give us a parking pass for the bank parking lot.
As for the breakfast, it was cold cereal and instant oatmeal as of 9am on a Saturday.
All in all, it was the worst hotel experience we've ever had and I absolutely do not recommend it!

First, the place looks nothing like the pics. It is very run down, not very clean and the rooms are very small. Rooms: very dirty carpet, no closet or dresser to put clothes away, old chipped paint. Bathroom was clean as was the bedding. Breakfast? Instant oatmeal, cold cereal, there was a waffle maker and mix, and coffee. The grounds have trash everywhere, weeds, not kept up at all. One table in the courtyard if you want to sit outside and have coffee or smoke. Our friends couldn't even get a key card because there was no one there that knew how to do it. There was no bar, but I think one is opening soon. I don't know if these are new owners that inherited this mess or if they have let it go, but $100 a night was way way too much.

My room was missing a smoke detector, which I question whether the facility met fire requirements. My impression was it was an old facility lacking in updating and maintenance.

The bar and lounge was closed and will be reopened next week. Place really run down. Staff very nice but we had to go to front desk for an ice bucket, then had to go back down because the tv was not connected right. The outside area was a round concrete table with concrete benches. The landscapers (or work staff), picked some plants out and put them on the table. We had to put them on the ground so we could sit there. The roll up in the room shade was broken, and folded up to the top, so when I pulled it down, it came flying down. When we checked it, they could not make us a key and had to wait until the owner got there so he could do it. It had a lot of old antique things in there that was fun to look at though.

The experence started with the clerk assigning rooms that were already occupied. The Clewiston Inn is a rather old facility that could benefit from a renovation. That said, the king bed slept comfortably and the room was quiet. Parking was close and convenient. Should you be a Pickle Baller, the courts are just across the street. Warm water came quickly, the pedistal sink & toilet were modern. Hotel and room appeared clean. I believe the staff does well with the facility as a whole. I would stay again.

I had fishing tackle (rods, tackle, clothes) and was at the very end of the hall - the last door. I could hear the people next door talking in normal tones so it was difficult to sleep. I did have help with my bags checking in, but when I left Sat. morning, I had to make 3 trips to load my stuff - up and down the stairs and all the way down the hall several times. I don't plan on staying there again.

First and foremost the photos on all websites are very misleading and the entire place needs to be renovated. Per your listing no pets are allowed but your staff are feeding stray cats not knowing if people that are booking are allergic to cats. Apartment 6 had dog but you have a NO PET POLICY!!! Mr. Patel & Staff I will see you in court!!! Me and my family slept in a car due to you taking money from my pockets because of greed. We had to be moved from the first room because the bed broke when I sat on it (no, I’m not obese), and the lamps were not working, had torn shades and were very dirty. The second room had a slowly draining sink that stopped draining completely the second day. The door had no strike plate and there was light coming in around the “lock”. The shower curtain rod was rusty, the toilet seat was the wrong size and the bathroom door did not close. The hall carpets were very dirty. The free breakfast consisted of fruit loops, or make your own waffles, small pastries, instant oatmeal, with a communal gallon of milk. We were told not to use the sink so we had to wash our hands and brush our teeth in the bathtub. We left a day early, forfeiting one night’s non-refundable charge. It was awful!

WARNING - DO NOT STAY HERE! Hotel in need of SERIOUS REPAIRS/WORK! Man knocking on door at 11:30pm saying he was \"housekeeping\", hallway smelled of pot smoke, then front desk knocks on door at 12 midnight, saying the new girl when cking in put me in the wrong room, and I needed to go to the front desk with my ID. Room was a disgrace, picture a hotel from the 1950's that was never updated or repaired. HOTEL IS NOT SAFE! The area is questionable to begin with so my stay was the worst night ever!!

The Clewiston Inn website is false. They are very old photos and the place looks nothing like the website. Expedia must do it due diligence and monitor the sites they advertise.
Also, the phone number on the page does not go through. I found it difficult to even call them.
Also, I called twice to Expedia and both times the representative gave me the same phone number that did not go through.
I paid the Inn personally and still trying to get a refund.

Generally not great. They put effort in keeping the historic look on the outside and the common area/bar, but otherwise the place is ill-maintained, pest-ridden, and just feels sketchy. The room had small roaches, the furniture looked like stuff that was picked up off the side of the road, it didn't feel like it'd be properly cleaned between guests. Had the bare essentials of cleanish sheets, AC, and hot water so I got by. But I would not go here again unless they majorly changed their practices.

There was no hot water, just barely room temp. The TV in the bedroom did not work. I get better breakfast at less expensive places. These are the things that stood out because they didn't work well. The area around the bottom of the stairwell (outside) was awful. The mop bucket with the mop sticking out could have poked us in the face had I not moved it. I will not choose this place in the future. On a good note: The price was cheaper than others and the staff were all nice. I did feel safe there.

When we first checked in we received room 249. We went to that one the bed spread was covered in mold and the floor was moldy. We went back to the front desk. she took us to room to 251. There was no mold on that bed. But the room was very musky smelling. The bathroom floor had hair on it. The carpet needed to be vacuumed. We left we did not even stay the night. When we checked out she said no refunds you've been here longer than 15 minutes. Probably a total of 35 minutes.We said fine. Don't stay here.

One of the worst places I’ve ever been. Cracks in the door. Roaches on the floor. Outlets that are as old as the historic building and struggle to hold a plug. No less than 3 roaches. Full size beds in a “double queen” room. AC was so loud I barely slept. Kitchenette was a microwave and a mini fridge. Pictures are extremely misleading. Would not recommend.

Beautiful lobby area and the history is cool but our room was dirty with dead bugs on the floor. There were holes in the wall and where the outlets and cables were coming from the wall, nothing was attached right and falling out. Repairs needed for sure. We wouldnt mind staying again as long as housekeeping did a better job of cleaning and maintenance fixed issues in the room. Plus we could not get the tv to work properly.

I understand the hotel is historic, and it was beautiful, however I asked for ground floor and still had to go up 4 or 5 steps dragging luggage. The room was small, no telephone and plugs weren't convenient for plugging in a CPAP machine, the outlet was literally behind the headboard. It did have a microwave and small refrigerator. Also, the website advertised a FULL HOT breakfast and it was a continental breakfast. For a diabetic, a continental breakfast is a carbohydrate nightmare. There was no yogurt or protein offered.

did not like having roaches in my room did not like that it took 20 min for hot water to get close to being hot. The hot water never got hot enough for me to turn on the cold water. Did not like knowing about a motorcycle convention or party going on while trying to sleep. The floors looked dirty and felt sticky like in the movie Theatres. Did not like.. not being able to talk to a manager. there were no managers on the premise while staying there. all new people working there that did not know what to do. I felt I was over Charged.

Do not stay here!!!! This place is really bad. Soon as I arrived with my son I noticed 2 drunk girls drinking straight out of a liquor bottle out front that looked like hookers along with a bunch of guys hanging drinking out infront of the entrance. Then as we went inside I was surprised to see an actual hip hop club in the room next to main lobby. The club entrance is actually in the main lobby.

After appearing to inconvenience the two girls behind the counter I went to the room which along with everything else was a mess.

The doors are slatted doors so you hear everything. The carpet was literally pulling up from the floor. The room smelled like a weed factory. There was rust all over the metal in the shower and mold on the walls. The roaches almost stole my sons shoes as when he picked them up the scattered from underneath his shoes.
The pillows are paper and the bed is cardboard.
Luckily for us we only needed a place to stop for about 6 hours so we got outa there as fast as we could. All I can say is stay the h*ll away from this place.
I have stayed it some pretty bad places and this place ranks up by the worst and I have been deployed overseas. Good luck if you book here!!

I slept really that night. I got there late evening and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The next morning breakfast was brought to my room promptly at 6:10 and those were the BEST Steak and Lobster Biscuits that I have ever had!! The Chef stopped by to make sure everything was cooked to my liking. The biscuits were great and the hashbrowns were amazing. He appreciated my excitement and he told me that the Maintenance Man had changed the oil, rotated the tires and re-gapped the sparkplugs on my 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner and now it runs better than showroom new!! I will be back soon!!

Average low cost hotel I have briefly stayed in multiple different rooms in this hotel over 2-3 years while building or repairing my RV. Plumbing problems are common in this hotel. It’s a neat hotel in a way but otherwise unremarkable in terms of comfort and amenities
