Lo que mas me gusta de este hotel es que todo esta muy cerca, el lobby, los restaurantes, la piscina, la playa, las habitaciones, te mueves caminando, sin pensar en la distancia. Da un aire muy romántico las instalaciones. Y la comida esta muy bien preparada todo estaba muy delicioso. Las atenciones del Staff, EXCELENTE, siempre con una sonrisa. Fui con mis 2 niños y mi esposo, la pasamos super!

Likes: the room was clean and cleaned on a daily basis. The grounds are very well taken care of moreso than the rooms. They make very good drinks.
Dislikes: the air conditioning, lights and ceiling went out on a regular basis. We had to keep reinserting the room key into a box by the door that is supposed to keep those things working. When we spoke to staff about it they were friendly enough and sent someone over but the people they sent over spoke zero English. I know it's a Spanish speaking country but it is also a tourist destination. Hardly anyone spoke English. The room had a old musky smell to it and everything we brought home had that smell stuck to it. If you want to buy anything from any of the shops it is extremely expensive. A tiny bag of cookies cost $5. Maybe 10 cookies the size of a quarter roughly and a bottle of aloe costs about $23. Pool and chairs for pool are always crowded and all taken. A lot of rude people, not so much the employees. Our oceanfront room you could barely see the ocean. The ocean was very very murky.

I recently stayed there with my elderly parents and my children, aged 2 and 1. The hotel is the perfect size, with everything conveniently close by: the pool, the main buffet, and the beach. I requested cribs, connecting rooms, and ground-floor accommodations to make it easier to get around with my stroller, and everything was provided as requested.

The food at the main buffet was very good, and the meals at the specialty restaurants in the evenings were excellent as well.

My only disappointment was the beach. The water was dark, and there were jellyfish. My mother was stung on the first day. We tried going into the water a few other times with our babies, but we were always warned to get out.

The bathrooms could also benefit from some renovation. They have revolving glass doors, which made me a little nervous with the babies.

All of the staff were very kind, helpful, and accommodating to our group.

Our stay at this resort was excellent, and the all inclusive package was amazing - lots of delicious food and drinks! The property was beautiful and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and there were plenty of enjoyable activities and shows. What stood out most was the great hospitality and attention to detail. We left feeling refreshed and would gladly return. Highly recommended!

Overall, the resort was clean and enjoyable. It wasn’t quite what I’m used to, but considering the price, I felt it offered good value.

I had booked an oceanfront room and even emailed ahead of time to confirm my request. When I arrived, I also reminded the staff that I had reserved an oceanfront room. Initially, I was given an ocean-view room instead, but after I mentioned the mistake, they promptly corrected it and moved me to the room I had booked. Just make sure you get what you requested.

One thing I was a little disappointed about was the restaurant reservations. During our 7-day stay, we were only able to dine at the restaurant twice and had to eat at the buffet for the remainder of our stay. That said, the food was actually quite good. The drinks were a little on the weak side, but I guess that’s their way of making sure guests don’t get too carried away!

The beach was also somewhat disappointing, as the water was not clear, and many guests seemed to prefer spending their time at the pool instead.

On a positive note, the staff were very friendly, courteous, and always willing to help, which made our stay more enjoyable.

Me encantó el lugar esta súper lindo,limpio,el personal excelente sin excepción todos desde el qué te recoge en el aeropuerto el de front desk los de limpieza súper amablemente la Señora Elizabeth qué nos ayudo con la limpieza de la habitación súper bella Señora muy atenta y siempre nos dejaba la habitación hermosa, el personal del restaurante excelente la señora Albania excelente trato y siempre dispuesta a ayudarnos un dia se le extravío la tarjeta y enseguida nos resolvió, otro dia no trabajaban las tarjetas y no podíamos entrar y ella cómo ADAMES madrina siempre aparecía y le comentamos lo ocurrido y de una nos resolvió el problema de verdad que hemos ido 9 veces a Punta Cana y mi esposo quiso cambiar a la Romana y tengo que confesar que llegue con muchas interrogantes pero definitivamente fue una excelente decisión desde el dia 1 hasta hoy sábado que finalizamos les digo que fue una experiencia increíble nos fuimos con muchísimas ganas de volver y espero en dios regresar pronto, ya que es un lugar hermoso con un personal de lujo. Absolute best birthday week getaway! Staff was super friendly and patient with my non-Spanish-speaking self. We were able to upgrade to the adults only side, which I wasn't aware was an option until reading reviews online while waiting in the airport. Resort is the perfect size to be walkable, but they have a shuttle to get you around if needed. Food was delicious at every restaurant and buffet. The pool was delightful and the beach was breathtaking. The shows we saw were decent, but we went for the beach, food, and pool. We didn't do any excursions. I only have 3 things I wish were better: 1. The water along the beach was murky and not great for snorkeling (of course I don't think there's anything that can really be done about that). More like VA Beach than FL Keys. 2. There aren't self- service non-alcoholic drinks other than water so we were ordering juices 2 glasses at a time. Would be nice to be able to get your own. 3. The room had a mildew smell like moldy towels, likely from a need to deep clean the vents. Seemed like they pumped a sweet, more pleasant, fragrance into the vents some mornings, and I eventually became nose blind, but the clothes I hung up had that smell I noticed when unpacking back home.
Overall, great trip and I'd definitely go back again or recommend to friends who like to relax.

The hotel is beautiful, but it could definitely benefit from more maintenance and attention to detail. Our shower drain was constantly clogged, and the bathroom lighting was poor, which made shaving difficult. The room door was sometimes hard to open, and the terrace door was partially unhinged.

The entertainment was underwhelming, and the only music played throughout the resort was bachata and merengue all day, everywhere on the property. In addition, some staff members were not particularly friendly or welcoming.

The beach itself is beautiful, but the water is murky due to the nearby river, making it impossible to see underwater. Unfortunately, the area also seemed to have a large number of jellyfish—I was stung twice during my stay—which made the beach experience less enjoyable.

On a positive note, the buffet offered a wide variety of food, and most of it was very good. I would recommend sticking to the buffet and skipping the specialty restaurants, which did not live up to the same standard.

Overall, the property has great potential thanks to its beautiful setting, but several maintenance issues and service shortcomings affected our experience.

After returning home and reflecting on my stay, I can honestly say this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I have ever had.
From the moment we arrived, the issues started. Our room was not up to standard, and we immediately had repeated problems with the room keys not working. We had to call staff multiple times just to access our room. Eventually we were moved, but this should never have happened at a resort charging premium prices.
The room conditions and cleanliness were also unacceptable. During our stay, we found a live cockroach in our room. That alone is something no guest should ever experience, especially at a resort that promotes itself as high end.
Dining was another major frustration. We were never informed at check-in that we were only allowed two restaurant reservations for a four-night stay. That lack of communication forced us to rely heavily on the buffet, which quickly became repetitive and limited.
The pool situation was just as bad. Chairs were reserved early with towels and left empty for hours. Guests who actually wanted to relax had nowhere to sit.
What made everything worse was the response from guest services. I explained all of these issues in detail, and the only compensation offered was a small bag of coffee. After everything we experienced, it felt dismissive and insulting.
For the amount of money spent, this resort did not deliver the quality, service, or standards it advertises. I would not return or recommend it.

What really made this resort special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming. The reception team, restaurant staff, housekeeping, bartenders, and all employees we encountered throughout the resort were outstanding.
A special thank you to the entertainment and recreation team. They did an amazing job every day, keeping guests engaged with fun activities and creating a great atmosphere throughout the week. Unfortunately, I don’t remember all their names, but every member of the team was fantastic and deserves recognition for their hard work and positive energy.
The pools, facilities, service, and overall experience were excellent. If I could give more than 10 stars for the staff and service, I would.

The only thing I wish I had known before booking is that the beach water in this area is not the crystal-clear turquoise Caribbean water many travelers may expect. Due to the nearby river, the water appears darker and less transparent. It is not dirty, but it looks more like river water than the crystal-clear water shown in many Caribbean destination photos.
Other than that, everything was excellent. We had a beautiful family vacation and would definitely recommend this resort for its service, food, entertainment, accommodations, and overall experience

Customer service and front desk staff including the manager very unprofessional.
Even though checking time was 3pm my room was not ready till 3:45pm. My paperwork was done earlier than 3pm since I arrived there about an hour earlier than the check in time. After completing my paperwork front desk personnel requested me to come and pickup room keys at 3pm. When I showed up at 3pm, they told me that my room was not ready.
I checked out at 11:45am and I was informed “you just made it” since official check out time is 12 noon. That means if I am late they will charge me for delay check out.
I have gone many resort vacations and this is the worst resort ever.
There was no taste in Buffet food. Very difficult to make reservations for 3 restaurants they have for dinner. We had 13 of us in our group and everyone felt the same way about this.
I haven’t seen many people going to the beach for swimming since it was dirty and water was in brown color.
Alcoholic beverages they served were terrible.
I am not sure how they got “5 Star” rating for this hotel/resort. I wouldn’t give them more than 3 stars for it. I can’t say anything positive about this hotel and won’t recommend anyone to go there.

El hotel es uno muy completo, desde la gastronomía, piscina, limpieza en áreas hasta el servicio al cliente. En el buffet todos los días de comía super bien. Francisco (en el área de el desayuno) y José (chef en el buffet) hicieron de nuestra estadía mucho mejor con sus atenciones al igual que todos los meseros que todos los días te atienden con amabilidad como Raidini, Enrique, entre otros. Durante el día tienes muchas actividades en donde gracias a el equipo de animación no te aburrirás, en especial con Luis y Genna. En conclusión, es un hotel al que deberían ir si quieren pasar unas buenas vacaciones sin arrepentirse.

Staff rushes you through an upgrade process promising better access to dinner options (6 tot. vs 3 on the family side), but refuse to let you make reservations at the front desk once you arrive. Instead, you are given a vague, 20-second “point in a general direction but we refuse to take an extra minute to show you” debrief of the grounds, which left my partner and I extremely lost at several points of our trip. We didn’t know where to find several of the amenities, as we were not shown them. I only found out halfway into my trip that there was even a casino and club on the family side. It was not mentioned by front desk, or entertainment staff, but by another guest who said they ALSO had to be told about those amenities by another guest who JUST HAPPENED to stumble upon it. Once we were finally allowed to make a reservation, they only had 9:15 reservations Mon-Wed. Th-Sat there was no way to eat at a restaurant. The restaurants on the other side, that staff had lied were walk-ins to push the luxury upgrade, had also been booked full, meaning we did not get to try to 1/2 of the food options available. On food: the Japanese restaurant was offensive. Hard and fishy imitation crab, filmy rice, and a satay gone wrong: was soggy under the peanut sauce that completely missed the mark. It’s like if someone recreated Japanese food with only a vague description. The French/Brazil options were great. My safe door broke and it took 3 hrs for help and staff was rude. Wait staff was kind.

The only downside to this property is that I booked and paid for an oceanfront room but was given a bottom floor semi facing ocean view. When I contacted the front office they informed me that the room I received was their oceanfront rooms. So just be aware that what they consider oceanfront is not a true oceanfront room.

We had an amazing stay at this resort. We stayed for a week which in my opinion is perfect. I found all the food to be amazing, there is something for everyone to eat here. There is options for food almost 24 hours a day at this resort.

All the bars and bartenders were awesome our entire stay. The à la carte restaurants were awesome especially the Italian restaurant.

The room was bigger than expected for a junior suite and was very clean.

The pool and beach were amazing. The beach doesn’t have the crystal clear water as in punta Cana so if you’re basing your trip off of that this may not be the resort for you. However, the beach is still very very nice. We spent half of our time here at the beach regardless.

24hr front desk service. Buffet times were 7-10:30am, 1-3pm , and 6:30-10pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach restaurant buffet was is open from 10am-6pm. The late night snack shack open from 10:30pm -6am

Para empezar todo bien el staff muy amable especialmente Darwin el bartender de la piscina. La comida buena a el entretenimiento le falta un poquito más de sabor , el agua de la ducha es fría no hay agua caliente. Pero a todos los que vayan a hospedarse en el bahía príncipe grand les recomiendo que pongan todo lo que tengan de valor en el safe porque a mí en cuestión de horas se me perdieron unos relojes y me hicieron creer que fue en el aeropuerto pero yo estoy segura que fue allí y yo he ido a muchos hoteles en distintas partes del mundo y hasta en punta cana y nunca me había pasado algo así. Yo sé que el equipo de seguridad no me va a decir lo que realmente pasó pero espero que por lo menos la persona que lo hizo haya tenido su castigo porque ningún turista se merece ir de vacaciones a un lugar y que le roben sus pertenencias. Por una persona el hotel es el que queda en evidencia

The resort was amazing we had VIP so we were assigned a butler Wilki he was amazing made sure we had all our reservations and excursions scheduled. The food was sooo good at every restaurant. The spa was luxurious and our massages were sooo good. Everything here is top tier and the staff are impeccable.

My bedroom was amazing. Lots of space and the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub in it. The staff were extremely polite and friendly even though they spoke little English and the food was exceptional. I will definitely recommend for your next trip.

The resort was beautiful. The staff pleasant and helpful. There was no long line in the lobby when we got there. The room was as described. The hole resort is on a same level. The other buildings have a second floor. If yoy are wheelchair bound or have a stroller this is the perfect place. The beach is literally 2 min walk from main lobby. There is a wood ramp that leads to the beach at the end is a wheelchair platform with umbrella and beech chairs. The food is good . They have a decent amount of everything. Between vegetables, fish, salads, different meat dishes on a nightly basis. The fruits, desserts, delicious soups. The staff is on point refill your water and other beverages. Check out was a breeze.

Resort was beautiful. Staff was extremely courteous. Juanica did a wonderful job cleaning our room. Breakfast and dinner buffets delicious. Lots to choose from. Lunch buffet on beach was also excellent. Shows at night were enjoyable. What a talented group of young people. Fire and circus shows were spectacular. Daily activities were fun too!

Si buscas un hotel tranquilo bonito con una atención de 10 de todo el personal, un hotel que te sientes en casa, con una comida exquisita variada fresca y rica de sabor,cuenta con una piscina grande, hay una para las peques, un bar con bebidas súper deliciosas,y todo por un buen precio este es el lugar, la playa no es buena ya que es de arena de río y tiene medusas,pero para mi eso no era problema ya que fui de excursión a isla saona que es todo un encanto por ender la playa nunca fue mi prioridad, gracias a todos los trabajadores del hotel,todos son muy amables y servicial me senti súper atendida,frente al hotel hay varias tiendas artesanales para llevarte tus recuerditos, que si volvería: si porque me sentí en casa. Y gracias a todos los cocineros y chefs la comida exquisitas en los bufet.y gracias a la housekeeping yovanny siempre fue muy amable y Atenta. Gracias a todos por estos días maravillosos y una atención inolvidable.

The best part about our stay at the property was the staff everyone was very nice and attentive to our toddlers. The staff from the kids club went out of their way to make them feel included in the activities. Such a family friendly experience. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great and the water wasn’t too warm although my husband thought it was fine. The food was really good they had a lot of options.

The property was fine. The buffet was just okay, with many of the foods extremely dry and over cooked. The specialty restaurants were very good, except for the Italian, which was just okay. Our room was clean but the restocking of the mini fridge hit or miss. The amenities were clean and the beach amazing.

We had a great stay at Bahia Principe Grand La Romana. The resort was very clean and well maintained, which made everything feel comfortable right away.

The food selection was excellent. There were so many options at the main buffet that we didn’t even feel the need to make reservations at the restaurants.

The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It’s also a very quiet and relaxing place, especially at the beach, which we really enjoyed.

The only things to note are that the beach water isn’t clear and there are no waves it feels more like a calm lake than the ocean. Also, the shower hot water takes a little while to heat up.

While we were there, we didn’t see any jellyfish, but we also only went to the beach a couple of times.

Overall, a nice and relaxing experience.

We had the worst experience! Do not book here! We had to switch rooms 3 times to get a mediocre room. I booked a luxury ocean front suite and there is nothing close to luxury in this resort. The first room had a scratched up bathtub that appeared from the dumpster. The room we stayed in had a bathroom with broken tiles and mold. We didn’t have hot water at all. Two days of cold water only and the other days barely warm water. The food options were awful. They tried to scam us out of our dinner reservations. We were told we only get two reservations because our reservation was 6 days/5 nights. That is not how this works! I have been to all inclusive resorts and you can make dinner reservations every night. We were also told the only reservation available at 8:45 pm which was a lie. We showed up at 6:30 and only two other tables were full. That happened every night. They want to force you to eat at the buffets. I had diarrhea for 10 days after eating this food for 6 days/5 nights. The only positive was the landscaping and weather was beautiful. The staff didn’t speak any English so it was near impossible to communicate. I do NOT recommend this resort. I wasted my time and money on this resort. I have written an email to the resort and no response. Customer service is terrible.
