They let me park my motorcycle just outside reception, the receptionist came out and said park between the plant pots and indicated where the cctv was. Very happy with that.

The hotel has a nice restaurant but only accepts 6 tables per 1/2 hr. We were told there was no room until 9.30. We had dinner in the bar next door and until 9 , there was only 1 table occupied. Service in the bar for food and drinks was terrible because they were so understaffed.

Come here to enjoy an authentic medieval town; quaint, peaceful, wonderful parador. The parador’s food is good, but be prepared for more complex than usual rules and management of seating, reservations, and service. The restaurant service needs to be improved. Still a fantastic stay.

Friendly service. Good view because the Hotel is almost on the top of the hill. The server in the restaurant is nice. One morning I rushed to attend the Mass and asked her to pack up my food for later used. Honestly it is not allowed. Once she knew my intention, she was happy to do it for me. I have to say thanks. Furthermore the people working in the reception are also helpful and friendly. Always 😀

This is the second Parador we have stayed in, the pictures don't serve it justice while the highlight is the views from the hill top location, the building amd grounds are more interesting and interiors are far more cohesive and luxurious in feel than the pictures suggest, and are not dated or worn. We enjoyed a lovely meal, though note service starts after 9pm, with a great wine selection and they were happy for us to take our unfinished bottle back to our room. Room was comfortable and spacious with a balcony overlooking the hills and valley below. Decent breakfast eith good selection. Above average for the usual buffet fare. Parking is on street outside, but very safe given the quiet location. Some great driving roads in the area as the car park also reflected. We booked this over the one in Olite which we would definitely do again due to the location and warm staff.

Although felt dining room due to size made you want to whisper as not busy. Overall a lovely quality hotel but a bit staid due to age of clientele. The town was very sleep. A great place to get away from it all. We had a mix up with the reservation and did not get the triple room necessary. The staff was accommodating of changing our room, but was a bit disappointed that we were charged for the correction. We ate at the cafe and enjoyed the selection.

The hotel is located on the edge of a medieval town and allows for easy walking to the sites therein. Parador has an excellent restaurant, the rooms were nicely appointed and the staff was great; all adding up to a perfect stay. The town itself has several restaurants, bars and places of interest. We ate lunch at La Cocina del Principal and had the tasting menu, superb, and the service was exceptional.

Perfect place to daydream about living in history

Staying in a castle within a walled-in village that still has houses and a school was dreamy! Our room was really nice with a picturesque view, a nice bathroom, and a queen bed. We spent the morning exploring the village, walking along the cobblestone streets up to the bell tower, admiring the panoramic views everywhere. Beware that nothing opens until 11, not even the cafe in the hotel.

Air conditioning is controlled centrally so our room was warmer than we wanted. We were told that all rooms were set at a comfortable temp of 23 centrigrade and we wouldn’t like it lower!

Food in the restaurant was disappointing.

Check in was very bureaucratic and unnecessarily long.

This was our second time visiting Sos and our first time staying overnight. We were thrilled to stay at the Parador as it is situated at The north end of town that affords an excellent view over Sos and the surrounding valley. Our room was quiet, comfortable and well-maintained. The easy and free parking was a plus as other accommodation options can’t offer this. The town is a joy to explore and the Parador makes an excellent home base.

Remarkable quality in a beautiful location.

This was our second stay in Sos but the first in the parador. Despite the hilltop illage location the hotel is easily accessible and well signposted. There is ample safe and free parking close to it and it is possible to unload at the entrance.
The friendly reception staff speak English and readily offer advice.
The parador’s public areas are well appointed with interesting displays and furniture and the bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable with glorious views over the surrounding countryside.
We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant.
After returning home my wife discovered that she had lost a necklace but was then delighted to be told that the hotel had found it for her. Their efficiency is much appreciated.

This hotel is a lovely hotel with comfortable beds and clean bathroom. The only disappointment was a small one but we had dinner in the restaurant as well as breakfast and we were not allowed to sit in the terrace to eat either meal. The food was very good though.

All good but we booked 2 nights here solely to relax after a road trip around northern Spain and there is a beautiful terrace which unfortunately does not get the sun and nowhere else with chairs outside despite a terrace at the back so it was too windy and cold to sit and read

The room was very hot and the air conditioning was turned off for the season. They did bring a fan but uncomfortably warm. Also we were there on Monday and the very few restaurants in town were not open. Tried to get a snack at about 6pm at the Paradox but absolutely nothing was available until the restaurant opened at 8pm.

Weekend in Sos

Weekend getaway in the historic hilltop town of Sos del Rey Catolico.One of the famous Cinco Villas which defended northern Aragon and bithplace of the legendary Ferdinand of Aragon,who with his Queen Isabella of Castille-Leon united Spain and finally defeated the Moors.
It's a delightful place to potter around and explore the narrow medieval streets.Very quiet and laid back and traditional.Pop into the local bar for a quiet beer while the locals watch the bullfighting on TV!Go out late in the evening to the local restaurants for great value meals of the day(3 courses,coffee,mineral water and a whole bottle of wine for 20 euros).The old chocolate factory still has a shop selling delicious chocolate products.Typically everything shuts down in the afternoon.
Not many actual places to visit but the old church at the top of the town is worthwhile with its amazing crypt frescoes.There are amazing views of the countryside from the old walls including the snowcapped pyrenees to the north.
Pleasant walks out of town include the old convent.
I went in April and the weather was very mixed(sunny then torrential thunderstorms!).
Parador is a pleasant place to stay on the reverse slope of the town.Staff very helpful.Rooms spacious and comfy with balcony views.The terrace is a very nice area to relax with a coffee or beer.
Sos is hard to get to by local transport,especially at weekends,but it is possible on a daily bus from Zaragoza.

Not what we thought!

The hotel was very clean and beautiful. The staff gracious and knowledgable in English. Breakfast and dinner were very good and very nice dining area. We though we were staying in a castle/palace that was authentic and marginally converted for present day guests....not so...Parador is a chain and just needs to build hotels in the decor do castle/palace times. That aside, staying in a modern hotel was fine except our room was very warm and stuffy even when we asked(which we found strange) for them to turn on the AC. The town was beautiful and some very \"athletic\" walking streets, but not much else to see. Unfortunately we probably will not return.

First class all around

Happily for me, my time in Javier coincided with the running of the bulls in Pamplona so I was unable to find a hotel in town. I found the Parador because it was close enough to Javier. I predict that the Parador will earn the kind of reputation which will make it a \"go to\" hotel in Spain and internationally. It boasts of a courteous and efficient staff, lovely clean rooms, a gorgeous setting, and excellent food. The hotel is so good that I recommend more employees learn to speak English because of the numbers of Americans and other English speaking visitors who will choose to stay there. There isn't much to do in the town of Sos so one's stay should be for relaxation or fir business in a nearby locale.

Treat yourself

Perfect hotel & setting - but you pay the price. The only reason I knocked a mark off the staff was that the porter said it was ok to park my car just on the edge of the prohibited parking area and I then got a \"please move your car as soon as possible\" ticket, but hey, no big deal!

Food is great and if I could afford to, I'd stay here for a week, but as it was, I spent €225 on one night's accommodation and evening meal for two, which for me is a lot of money, but it was worth it.

SOS - a great town to explore

Accomodations were perfect...luxurious! We got a nice discount from Expedia, but I don't know if I'd pay the full show-up-at-the-desk-without-a-reservation price. Menu was a bit more creative at this Parador, but the food was still very bland. All staff very polite, pleasant, and helpful.

Parador in edificio costruito negli anni 80 non risultato della ristrutturazione di un edificio preesistente , camera ampia e bagno funzionale.
In un borgo dove è quasi impossibile trovare un bar aperto in mattinata la caffetteria del Parador dovrebbe aprire prima delle 11.00 , non si dovrebbe essere costretti alla colazione completa o a nulla…

Hôtel magnifique, situé à l’entrée de la ville.
La chambre est assez spacieuse pour trois, mais sombre du fait des nombreux rideaux complexes à ouvrir en entier.
La salle de bain est immense et d’une propreté impeccable.
Le petit déjeuner gargantuesque est à tester. Ils proposent même au buffet des options sans gluten.
Le repas du soir est aussi très copieux dans la demi pension.
Seul le Check on était treeeeeeees long…
Je recommande chaleureusement.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen. Wir haben über die ganze Ebene gesehen. An der Rezeption wurden wir professionell empfangen. Nicht sehr freundlich. Vielleicht ist das jedoch einfach eine speditive, spanische Form an die wir nicht gewoht sind. Ein kleines Lächeln hätte gereicht.
Die Einrichtung war edel und eine sehr schöne Abwechslung im Gegensatz zu den meisten Standart-Hoteleinrichtungen.
Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und sehr gut.
Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich. Alles war sehr sauber und wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Zimmer und Lage des Hotels sind schön, leider hatten wir keinen Balkon, den wir aber geglaubt hatten gebucht zu haben.
Das Frühstück ist gut, aber man sollte keine huevos fritos bestellen, denn die sind mit viel Fett behaftet, da sie scheinbar wortwörtlich frittiert werden, dafür ist der dazugehörige Speck nur gegart und nicht gebraten - schade ...
Das Abendessen ist freundlich formuliert sehr ungewöhnlich, man sollte vorher alles mit google übersetzen, um keine allzu schlimmen Überraschungen zu erleben, wir würden dort unter keinen Umständen noch einmal Halbpension buchen. Der Wein ist SEHR teuer, aber dafür nicht besonders gut. Gesamteindruck unseres Aufenthaltes ist, daß das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hier überhaupt nicht stimmt. Für Raucher ist das Hotel ungeeignet, denn sogar auf der schönen Terrasse im Freien herrscht Rauchverbot. Ich habe immer auf dem Parkplatz in unserem Auto sitzend geraucht, das ist für mich aber kein schöner Urlaub!
