Modern,spacious, and clean room. The shower was big and with great water pressure. Very helpful, friendly and available staff. Breakfast is available, however it is quite pricey for what is offered.

Really nice stay, this time.

It’s not our first stay to Savoy Timișoara, so for us to come back it means we are happy with the stay.
Bad things :
1. Prices for the minibar - exaggerated if you ask me.
2. A bit more responsible with the cleaning - in the bathroom, on the top shower rail, the dust was present to the point that I placed my towel there and I took it out with a stripe of dust.
3. Speaking of towels, for crying out loud, do something about the smell, use some conditioner or some perfume -they stink. Also, it feels like you are using sand paper.

Good things :
1. Lovely breakfast - maybe not the most varied one but really tasty.
2. Lovely chap in the restaurant - clearly not Romanian - but his way of talking, really professional and good knowledge of the language. English speaker too. Well done mate.
3. Check in, the receptionist was lovely and explained everything.
4. Quiet : it was soooooo quiet.

Overall an above average experience, I just wish the cleanliness was a bit more better as well as taking care of the sandpaper (ahem) towels.

We booked two rooms last second for our stay. The counter persons were friendly. The rooms are very large and plenty of amenities. Easily walkable to the old city. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant.

Central hotel, easy access. Good condition. The service in the restaurant was exemplary.
The heating system appears to be very environmentally-unfriendly: there is an air pump that goes on and off constantly, and there is nothing to keep the temperature at a certain level, so the energy consumption must be unreasonably high. The hot air system is also very inefficient, the temperature in the common areas was very low, although the weather was not too cold yet.

Lost in translation.....

The location was close to the city center. The room was clean. Our only complaint was that our breakfast was included with our room when we booked with hotels.com. when we checked out they made us pay for our breakfast again saying it wasn't included. After showing our booking receipt that said it was included they still charged us saying they can't remove the charge. Won't stay there again due to this.

Very good and consistent

I’ve stayed many times at this hotel and the reason I return is its consistency. The rooms are always very large, with very comfy mattress and pillows, there is cleanliness, sufficient storage space, and good bathrooms.

The staff is always helpful. Regarding breakfast, while not exceptional, it has salad, sandwich ingredients, some hot options (sausage, sometimes scrambled eggs) and most importantly every day some homemade cake, usually apple cake. The restaurant, open after breakfast, makes delicious food.

All in all, I cannot fault this hotel which has become my work and life base in Timisoara for the past two years.

Everything was nice about this hotel. They provided me a free shuttle from the airport (not available for the departure but the cab was about $10). The check-in was fast. Service was excellent and friendly. Room sufficiently large and in good conditions. Nice choices of hot and cold breakfast buffet. This is not a luxury hotel but it is very good value for the money. OK, not everything was perfect. For instance the handle in the bathtub was loose and the drain plug was slowly leaking, but I had worse in other Romanian hotels (are Romanian plumbers/handymen less competent?)
But all in all I really liked it

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The wifi signal was not great in the room, but ok in the lobby. The location is great, a short walk to the centre (less than 5 minutes and a pretty walk). I reserved and paid for a single room, the bed was a double size and the room was quite large. The bed was a bit softer than I prefer. I would stay again.

The hotel is well located at a short 10 min walk to the center of Timisoara. The furniture is not first quality and it could benefit from an update. The mattress was very soft, which we didn't like, but some people may. The hotel has 2 buildings, the older one with balconies and the new one without.
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel (expensive: 10€) as there are nice places with terraces downtown where you can enjoy a pleasant breakfast, much cheaper.

Overall a nice hotel in a convenient location, but only when the weather is cool. At least on the upper floors, the air conditioning is not up to the task of the summer heat. Our room was very hot throughout the day, even with air conditioning on high constantly. Hotel staff are aware of the issue, but are unable to do anything.

40th birthday weekend.

We had a faboules time in this small but fantastic city! The hotel didnt look much from the outside, but modern inside. The staff was very friendly and accomendating. The room was tidy ans the bed was lush! It was quite warm though even though the aircon was working. It was good value for our money and the city perfect to walk around. 2 min from the city centre:) we didnt try any food at the hotel as we like to try new foods i the local restaurants. You should def go and stay here! A perfect 3 nights get away:)

pros: location; room size
cons: not well maintained, lower standards than listed, no coffee maker, no iron/table, no tissues in bathroom, only one trash bin, un-comfy mattress/pillow, outdated pieces of furniture (coffee table leg broken), unsafety hallways with gaps between walkways and walls, offering airport shuttle only for a very limited period of time, breakfast area opens only at 6:00, front desk person sleeping on a couch during the night ours, last story not accessible by elevator (which is very small).
we booked this hotel for some of its features that we couldn’t use (breakfast, airport shuttle), and realized that there is a huge difference among the US and UE hotel standards. we don’t recommend this hotel.

The only negative, but I must admit this may be a personal preference, would be that it was far too hot in the room and it was difficylt to control the temperature.

A group of us stayed for a rugby weekend in December. We were made to feel really welcome by the friendly helpful staff. The hotel is clean, well laid out and convenient for all the local attractions. A full and satisfying breakfast was provided every morning. I am already planning a more \" touristy \" return next year.

Reasonable hotel, reasonable price

The good things first, the room was comfortable, big and clean. I was even surprised having a proper bathroom (because I was used with tiny ones in previous cases). Service was helpful and eager to help when summoned. Breakfast was reasonable. TV was much better than what I expected, it had several cable channels and made relaxing easier.

On the minuses, the advertised \"gym\" in the hotel was a room with 4 machines, 2 of those were broken, with the treadmill being \"dissected\" in the middle of the room. Gym had no other equipment, thus it felt... pretty useless. My room had no towels and bathroom stuff when I arrived (which they were really eager to fix when I informed them). From the second day, towels were properly replaced in my room, but also all extra cushions were stored away in a shelf. I really enjoyed sitting on them while trying to relax before sleeping, I did not understand why they packed them away after the first night, I felt it was a nice touch to the room. A single person was taking care of the restaurant during breakfast, and it felt like she/he was pretty unhappy doing it, I saw several occasions of people asking for a cup of water/tea/coffee and they were pointed out to the corresponding table that they could service themselves. Often the buffet was running out of plates/cups and nobody was eager to bring new ones.

Overall it was a pleasant surprise, but there are definitely points for improvement.

Amazing Hotel in Timisoara

Check in was very simple. Staff were very friendly. Location is about 5 minute walk from town centre. The room was really good. Very spacious and very clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was big with good sized bath. There was a very small balcony and the windows would open. We were very impressed by the room and had a really comfortable time here. And the breakfast was also very good. A really good hotel.

Room and bathroom was clean and a good size. My main complaints were:
1) Room keys only worked 40% of the time,
2) Air conditioning didn't work that well and turned off if you left the room with your key card.
3) There was a cockroach in our room.
4) Our room was off the main corridor, so we had to drag our suitcases up an extra flight of stairs. not accessible by elevator.

Good hotel close to the center

We traveled by car so for us it was important we are close to the center and in the same time to get a parking spot there. Room was spacious and really comfortable. WiFi connection was good. We booked without breakfast so I can't comment the food. Noting important to complain just some small things like they forgot to put second set of towels or there was no recycle bin in the room and just in the bath.

Nice hotel, good location

My wife and I planned to spend 3 days in Timisoara and friends recommended the Savoy for its central location. The staff was mostly courteous and ready to help. We had their penthouse unit on the 4th floor which was spacious and well proportioned; the only drawback being the fact that the elevator goes only to the 3rd floor.
The unit was well supplied with bathroom and kitchen needs.
Overall good experience, will recommend to friends.

Has good breakfast. I was there durin period of time when outside were more than 40 degrees Celsius. You hardly can use lift in this conditions as temperature in that part is higher with with at least 10 degrees. Also parking in underground is difficult to use for someone who is not experience driver. All other things are good. I can recommend you to stay there.

Nice surprise!

The location of the hotel was really good, close to centre of town and railway station. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had to leave very early so we didn't have breakfast so can't comment on how good it is. However they made us sandwiches which was nice. We did have dinner in the hotel and the food was nice, however be aware that you can smoke in the restaurant (like everywhere in Romania basically). The bed was a proper double bed (as oppose to two single beds put together). We would definitely stay here again and recommend others to stay also!

The last time I was in Romania was 1993, so while I expected some advances, I was surprised at how modern the Hotel Savoy is. The architecture is interesting -- you get to your room via a sleek glass elevator -- and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was friendly and outgoing. The restroom was Euro-modern with strong water pressure. The neighborhood was uninspiring, but we didn't have time to explore. A sign near the front desk indicates that this is a Marriott partner hotel, nice to know since there don't seem to be many large-chain options in Timisoara.

We had a great stay Lovely hotel with wifi in room. Lovely staff who were eager to help. They even made us breakfast at 4am for our flight home. There was very litre information on the attractions locally which would have been useful but the staff were very helpful. Will return

Hotel bem localizado, com boas instalações. Atendimento ok, não muito simpático. Café da manhã poderia ser melhor. Não tem um ar-condicionado de fato, mas um aparelho que faz uma ventilação, então no alto verão não deve dar conta do calor. Reclamei e o funcionário que estava na recepção tentou me enrolar de que iria consertar e após eu insistir ele disse que era assim mesmo e me trocou de quarto.

Hôtel situé à 5 minutes de l'église orthodoxe et à 10 minutes à pied de l'opéra.

Literie confortable, les oreillers mériteraient d'être un peu plus gros.

Petit déjeuner varié.
