The hotel wasn’t bad, it’s ok for its price, but the rooms are my only concern, they looked kind of sad inside. Overall the whole property wasn’t bad to enjoy for at least 2 days… the hot springs were packed with people and sometimes felt like it wasn’t clean, the pool bartenders take a whole year to give you 1 drink, they can improve that service and put more workers. Also we asked for a room service and never arrived, the room bathroom smelled very bad and was very depressing. In the picture they show the room with volcano view but the room they gave us was very limited to the view unlike the pics. Don’t recommend this hotel honestly.

The shower drain wouldn’t drain and maintenance had to come clear all the hair clogging it which grossed me out. For the price that shouldn’t be happening.
Maintenance left a mess from muddy boots which isn’t a big deal but We asked for cleaning and came back 5.5 hours later to still the muddy tracks through the room.

It’s only a short drive from La Fortuna and many tours and activities. Within the resort, you have access to several hot spring pools and 2 regular pools with slides for the kids. There is also a viewing point of the volcano. The room is a little outdated.

Room key didn’t work multiple times- had to walk to the reception desk six times. That was annoying. Our room was huge but needed more hooks or a shelf in the bathroom for functionality.

The room was very spacious. The beds were nice plenty of blankets. The shower was clean. The view from the room was amazing. The parking is a little far away. You definitely need a vehicle or use their transportation to get back to the Hot Springs or the restaurant. The Hot Springs at the very top are very hot and they’re very nice the further down you go the more commercialized it becomes which is good for children or partying people who want a swim u bar. The food in the main restaurant at night was not very good I would recommend just grabbing a burger or pizza at the pool bar.. the included buffet breakfast in the morning was really good. Finally, I believe you can arrive early on the day of your check-in and you can stay as late as 10 PM on the day of your check out to enjoy the Hot Springs. I wish we had known that we probably would’ve come earlier.

Hotel Los Lagos Spa & Resort is a beautiful and relaxing property near Arenal Volcano. The grounds are lush, expansive, and well maintained, and the views of the volcano from the pools and walkways are stunning, especially in the mornings. The resort truly feels immersed in nature.
The thermal hot spring pools were the highlight of our stay. There are multiple pools at different temperatures, and the swim-up bar was a nice bonus. The spa and overall atmosphere make it a great place to unwind.
The rooms were clean and spacious, though more rustic than modern, which fits the natural setting. One thing to note is that the room doors have a noticeable gap underneath, which does allow bugs to come in. While this wasn’t shocking given the jungle environment and “nature-forward” experience, it’s something guests should be aware of.
The resort property is large, so be prepared for quite a bit of walking. That said, this was actually one of the positives — there are plenty of paths where you can see wildlife, birds, and enjoy the surrounding nature right on the property.
Breakfast was included and decent, with fresh fruit and traditional Costa Rican options. Staff were generally friendly and helpful.
One major downside: I was charged $60 for a guest who was only visiting for a few hours, which felt completely unreasonable for a mid-range resort in Costa Rica. This policy was disappointing and not clearly communicated upfront

Room was great enjoyed wildlife from our patio every day. Hot springs and pools were clean and not overcrowded. AMAZING!! Amazing views from almost every room! We were high up on the resort but it looked like every room had an amazing view! The staff was super friendly and helpful all the time! The in house restaurant had many options to choose for lunch and dinner, breakfast buffet was always delicious and never ran out of food. The barstaff was friendly and helpful and the food always hit the spot. The rooms were super cozy and very spacious and clean. Highly recommend this hotel and the pools and spas are the best around! Beautiful area, the view of the volcano is awesome. You should go to the lake and do some kayaking.

Beautiful resort, well maintained grounds, lot of various trees and flowers. We saw created guans, pizottes and iguanas and other birds. Big rooms which are air conditioned. Ours was with queen beds which are little further up the hill. They do have a free shuttle which is always available and takes only couple of minutes. Walking is 10 mins downhill and 15 mins uphill.
Hotel has great free breakfast, with lot of options.
They also organized various tours to the arenal and La Fortuna areas which is very convenient.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
There are variety of the thermal pools in the resort and are very relaxing with different temperatures.

Beautiful resort and staff were all great. Did have to ask for a room on second floor as the mountain view on the main floor didn’t have the views of the volcano and staff were accommodating.

It was a nice place. The hot springs were enjoyable and having a wet bar and restaurant on site were a plus. I am a running so you can jog on property but no side walks on roads. We had no complaints other than we had an issue with lock on door but they fixed. Wish they had ice machine but the bar was accommodating. In short. We highly recommend
