The property is very clean and has everything you need right on the property. The restaurant has amazing food, the staff is very helpful, and the rooms are very clean. There are several hot springs and a pool with water slides for kids. It is a great property, and we highly recommend it if you visit the La Fortuna area.

Overall our stay at Los Lagos was very good. We had a few problems with a doorknob and couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV (it is difficult to understand) but the property was beautiful and the hot spring pool was very nice! Overall, a really nice experience with the breakfast being excellent. We would return! La Fortuna is close by and there are restaurants nearby if you want to drive out of the hotel area ! great location!

Grounds are beautiful . We went with little ones and we did not rent a car so we relied a lot on uber and the hotel’s transportation since the rooms are far away from the lobby and pools/restaurants. One thing I was disappointed it’s that they don’t offer transportation to the volcano viewpoint /mirador . I specifically booked this hotel because of that viewpoint . I talked to front office to see if I could get an uber to take us up there and they refused . Being that we had little ones with us it was hard for us to walk up there with them. It’s an uphill walk . Another thing to point out is that you gotta be there early for breakfast time or you will be rushed . We got there 45 mins before 10am and we felt rushed to eat as they were picking up leaving no glasses out for us. Staff was a hit or miss. Pool bartenders were great .

This place is so beautiful! So many options for pools/spas. The trails through the property and views are stunning. We loved our time here! Only negative is the room noise. We stayed on the ground level and the noise of the room above us was terrible. Just walking on the floors or moving around the furniture was very loud. Otherwise it was an amazing time!

The hot springs were well maintained, the same with pools. We booked a zipline tour offered by the resort and we had lots of fun. I highly recommend.

What a BEAUTIFUL resort! The hot springs were AMAZING! We were so close to the volcano with amazing views, an onsite hike to the viewpoint and it was nice to have the shuttle to help get around the resort! Downtown La fortuna was less than 10 minutes away. The rooms were so spacious! If you don’t have kids, you will have an amazing time! If you do have kids, you and the kids will have an amazing time! The water slides were so fun! Even in the rainy season, we had a great time! We enjoyed the hot springs even in the rain!

This place is stunning! The pools and springs were a huge hit with our large group and the grounds are breathtaking. Beautiful view of the volcano and very easily accessible to all of the activities you would want to do in the area. The included breakfast was a gem with an omlett station and delicious plantains and local cuisine. We saw a toucan, sloth and so many other birds on the property.

The property is incredible and has so much to do. The picturesque grounds are something you see in a magazine. Very clean, food is delicious and amazing views of the volcano. The staff also add to the wonderful experience. Special shout out to Arnel, Danny, and Oscar at the pool bar for making our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend and when I come back I will definitely plan to stay here again. I am convinced you cant get better than Los Lagos.

Customer service was not great. Room cleaned but missing coffee. And another time face towels. Should be standard. At dinner, ordered fajitas and did not get tortillas. Had to ask and then wait while food got cold. Had a large group and everyone had small issues. It is a resort they should know how to do simple daily tasks.

What an immersive experience from the hot springs to hearing the rain forest waking up “puravida”( if you know you know). It was a beautiful property and was enjoyed by us all from our 6 and 22 year old to their 62+ grandma. No regrets. Rooms are spacious and trundle beds pulled out from underneath.

Hotel Los Lagos was a dream!! It was absolutely beautiful, clean, incredible views, the room sizes were huge, the views from the rooms were amazing, quiet, felt like a whole other world. It felt like we wouldn't need to even leave the hotel property to enjoy ourselves. The hot springs, pool, breakfast, everything was incredible. The staff were kind and helpful. It even has its own trail to view the volcano, horseback riding, and ziplining for a fee. I know I will stay here again the next time I am in Costa Rica - thank you for an absolutely memorable stay.

The property is gorgeous! We loved the hot springs. The downfall was that we had no hot water the entire trip. We asked for help numerous times but no one was ever able to fix it for us. We also had no key to our safe. Not a huge deal, but would be nice. We had no issues with theft! Would stay again… just expect to take a warm shower on vacation!

This place was busy, loud, and not well maintained. The room was very dark and outdated. There was music blasting late into the evening and trucks going by at all hours. The buffet breakfast was the worst food we had while in Costa Rica. There were lots of pools and some nice gardens on the property but tons of people. They made us put on two bracelets upon arrival, a paper in car window, and gave us plastic cards for towels. This place has too many rules. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but quickly checked out and made another reservation. The hotel said they would refund me for the two nights we didn’t stay but they only partially refunded me. Stay far from this place. There are so many other very nice hotels in La Fortuna.

We had a wonderful stay at Los Lagos! The staff were friendly, and then complimentary breakfast was great. The hot springs are very well maintained, as is the rest of the property. Make sure to check out the trails and the viewpoint! Our only comment is that the walls are quite thin so you can easily hear what is going on in the units next to you. Depending on who your neighbours are, this could be a bit annoying. Not much they can do about this though and we would still highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Los Lagos. We stayed 4 nights with no kids. Room was very clean and spacious. Appreciated the clothesline on the deck. The grounds were so lush, green and tropical. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety hot buffet and a fried egg/omelet station.
We enjoyed the hot springs in the afternoon especially in the rain and spent time at the pool bar. Views were fantastic and it was close to town and very easy to use uber to get where we were going.

He had the best time at Los Lagos Hotel! The hot springs were absolutely amazing and beautiful, and the property was very clean. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The food was delicious — we had breakfast at the restaurant, and by the afternoon we were so tired we ordered room service. The restaurant even accommodated a different menu for us, including pizza for the kids, and it was delicious!

The rooms are large, spotlessly clean, and fully air-conditioned — a true comfort after a long day of exploring. You come back and immediately feel at ease.
Breakfast is included and genuinely good — a great way to fuel up before heading out on adventures.
The amenities are a highlight in themselves. After a day of hiking and sightseeing, the hot tub on the property is an absolute treat for tired muscles. And the cold water pool is refreshing and invigorating — the perfect contrast, especially in the Costa Rican heat.

Hotel Los Lagos is the best hot springs resort at Arenal. The price is reasonable, the hot springs are great, the slide is fun, the breakfast is fantastic, the staff is helpful and friendly. I cannot say a bad thing about this resort, everything was great. This was my 2nd visit this year, and, I have visited this resort, maybe 8 or 10 times over the years.

Check-in was quick and easy. Safe location. Relatively good location if you have a rental car. Very clean room. Cleaning staff and on-site chauffeurs were fantastic. Uncomfortable mattress but comfortable sheets and pillows. Grounds were well maintained and beautiful. Lots of wildlife flying and trekking through the property. Pools and hot springs had lower-end resort vibes (like too many people at swim-up bar, kids running around, TONS of day-pass guests and large groups) rather than the high-end resort this purports to be. The Arenal viewpoint on property provides beautiful views. Definitely worth the drive up. Food was decent enough even though they messed up my dinner after being alerted of allergies. I didn't trust them after that so I didn't even eat included breakfast. Husband informed me the breakfast was an average buffet. Overall, a mixed experience.

We stayed in a “Superior Room” with a volcano view. The resort is close to everything,, a 10-15 minute drive to downtown area. Also not “too bad” of a drive at night back to the resort from downtown at night. The room was large and spacious. Air conditioning was great. Pools and hot springs were awesome. Ford and drinks were good. A few sections of the resort were not maintained and underused. Such as the lagoon area. Also, a lookout tower was closed off. It would have been nice to take a kayak or paddle board out on the water. Overall, I would recommend and would also plan a return visit next time I’m in the area.

This is a huge resort property, wish we stayed here at the beginning of our trip because the views of the volcano are way better and closer than some of the volcano trail parks and coffee shops we visited. Hot springs were wonderful and we actually saw more animals including a sloth in this resort than walking in any of the surrounding parks. Stay in a superior room with volcano view. You won’t regret it.

The hotel location is absolutely stunning. The room itself wasn't anything fancy. When we arrived the AC was leaking so we had to call maintenance & a dehumidifier had to be on the entire time we were there which got noisy when trying to sleep. Our door frame to our patio door was completely moving and you could literally pull it off the wall. There was a giant crack between the wall and door. If someone wanted to break-in they totally could have. The breakfast was included but it was very basic. It did the trick. The pools and hot springs were awesome! Our kids totally enjoyed it :)

The pools were fabulous- get busy in the afternoon, but not terrible. Breakfast was delicious every day- go early, it gets busy after 8am. The grounds were GORGEOUS- so well maintained and lots of wildlife. I would 100% recommend Los Lagos for families- we loved our stay.
