Gjogv is amazing

The room was OK but the location and breakfast options were outstanding--warm home-baked bread, salmon... a notch above most breakfast spreads. Good value for the Faroes, though dinner at the hotel restaurant is expensive and there are no other options for miles around.

Great stay in amazing location. Our room in the annex building was much nicer and bigger than expected from the photos, with newish IKEA/JYSK-style furnishings. They call it basement unit without a view but it is standard ground floor with glass door. The softest mattress we ever slept on. Excellent breakfast.

Beautiful location, nice surroundings! Room assigned is so small and is without any temperature/ventilation controls. Dinner order was somehow missed resulting long wait after a busy day and the quality of food does not match with the price changed. However the breakfast was quite good.

Fantastic location. Gjogv is a charming village with phenomenal views and natural beauty. A truly must see place where you get the feel of Faroese life. Hikes with beautiful views are close. Sheep are everywhere. The hotel is quiet and well kept with great food at dinner. Staff is friendly. It’s a place to come to experience, unwind and disconnect. Highly recommend.

If I could give this, no stars, I would give it no stars. There was black mold in our room. It reeked of sewage and our pillows were literal pancakes. Imagine putting your fingers together on either side of the pillow and that’s how thin they were.
Food and restaurant was awful. It reminded me of kitchen nightmares and I was waiting for Chef Ramsey to come out of the kitchen. Additionally, the food was exorbitant expensive more expensive than any other restaurant. We have been to our whole trip in Torshvn.

I'll preface this by saying that while we were visiting, the Faroe Islands were in the midst of a strike that affected gasoline availability. As a result, the normal hotel staff seemed to be having trouble getting transportation to the hotel. Subsequently, the checkin and restaurant experience were very poor. The substitute staff seemed to be doing the best they could, but didn't seem to know protocols. We had to wait for an hour to get checked in (around 5pm) and couldn't get a table for dinner.

Our room was tiny and looked like it used to be part of a hostel. There was an in-room bathroom, but it was a combined room where the shower and toilet were not separated from each other. The shower \"curtain\" was missing several hooks, so the entire bathroom was drenched when you took a shower.

The views are beautiful, but the town is very tiny with only one coffee shop and no retail, other than the hotel itself. So not having any services at the hotel was challenging.

Gjogv is such a beautiful small village with some great hiking, and I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. Very clean and breakfast was excellent, with the added bonus of having an on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner.

The guesthouse is in a nice quaint town, close to a hike where you can see puffins. There is a restaurant onsite, which has tasty food (although portions are small and price is high). The breakfast spread is excellent. The staff are friendly and it is overall clean. However, we were in the twin room downstairs (level 1), and it felt like a dormitory. It was lifeless, and the bathroom was so small and everything became wet, as there is no separation between the shower and toilet.

A really lovely spot. The hotel is simple but has everything you need. All of the staff I communicated with was lovely. My waiter was especially nice. The food was very good! Comfortable, unpretentious and perfect after a day of exploring. Not to mention the location, the town is beautiful and you can see a lot of beautiful nature right from the hotel. Will come back!

Nice guesthouse with excellent culture night

This is a nice guesthouse in this beautiful village. The breakfast was excellent. It has a very nice cultural event night once a week. I enjoyed it! It was excellent with good experience about the Faroese food and culture. The only issue was that my single person room was too small.

We had a wonderful stay at this remote hotel. The accommodations were stunning, and the view from nearby hikes were nothing short of spectacular. The dinner, though spendy, was delightful. Just note, there is very little in and near Gjogv. So come for the scenery and stay for the lovely hotel, but bring snacks with you!

We had a wonderful stay at the Guesthouse in Gjogv. We enjoyed the meals which had great food and friendly service.

We had a new unit in one of the properties located a few houses away from the main guesthouse, but it was a quick walk between the buildings for meals.

While we only stayed for one night, our time in Gjogv was among our favorite - there is a fantastic hike near the guesthouse which includes stunning views from above and a totally unique and beautiful rock formations below. We went late at night and enjoyed brilliant colors in the sky as the sun was setting somewhere nearby.

Hosts are very friendly and accommodating, we needed 4 copies of travel documents printed and it was no problem.

Lovely room with a great view.

We had a lovely deluxe double room with a marvellous view of the hillside out one window and the village, ocean and islands on the other. Perfect.
We would prefer to have a divider or shower curtain in the bathroom.
We had a delicious meal in the guesthouse restaurant, expensive but delectable.

Overall a cozy Hotel. Unfortunately the bathroom in our room was really bad. It had a weird smell, a little bit like fish and the shower curtain had black mold at the bottom. It was so bad that we didn't shower.
The surroundings around the hotel is very beautiful. Breakfast was good.

Superbe chambre d’hôtel dans un village charmant

Un séjour très agréable dans une chambre très spacieuse (dans l’annexe) et lumineuse, avec une vue imprenable sur les montagnes et la Nature !
Le personnel a été très accueillant et disponible durant notre séjour. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre nuit sur place et recommandons l’hôtel les yeux fermés.

Lugar correcto en un precioso pueblo

La estancia estuvo correcta,fuimos a la noche cultural que estuvo bien aunque las danzas feroesas un poco repetitivas. Lo que no me gustó fue el servicio en el buffet del desayuno, por cierto, bastante escueto. Llegamos hacia las 8:45 y ya no había reposición de bacon ni huevos revueltos porque según la camarera se habían terminado,hice notar mi asombro y repentinamente aparecieron los huevos……
