O hotel é incrível! A vista do restaurante e piscina para o Kruger vale por toda a experiência. A equipe é incrível, super atenciosos e gentis, desde a recepção até os guias do Safari. Destaco Kabelo, um dos garçons, que sempre nos recebia com sorrisos e simpatia.

Fechamos os safáris com o próprio hotel e foi a melhor opção possível! A comida também é bem gostosa. Não temos nada a reclamar.

Location location location

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. All the hotel staff could not do enough for you, the room was lovely, and the food was well prepared and tasty. The location is what sells it for us, right on the banks of the Sabie River and 20 minutes drive from Paul Kruger Gate and entry into the wonderful Kruger Park. We would happily stay here again.

An enjoyable stay with super friendly staff

The highlights of our stay here were the incredibly friendly staff and the generous food options. The service was akin to 5 star hotels - attentive, thoughtful and friendly. The food was plentiful and it was nice to have choices for dinner and breakfast. The room was suitable for our needs for a few nights and very clean and tidy.

Lovely riverfront setting with hippos.

We had a great stay. The property looks over the Sabie River and has a family of resident hippos to entertain you.
The staff were friendly and Lucas in particular went above and beyond when my hire car had a puncture in a tyre and he went with me, after his shift finished,to the tyre repair place and helped me to get it fixed. I thoroughly recommend the lodge for providing the ambience and great setting of the really expensive luxury lodges but at a fraction of the price.

I found the management advertising decietful..the say book now and pay later then when you book they engage a company called \"paybridge\"to deduct 50%of the booking.from credit card without any reference to the sabie R/L.also the food is substandard and menu without prices..the tent that we stayed in had no clothes hanging facilities..this review will be posted to other websites..

Really good and perfect for us!We needed to be close to an airport and Kruger Park for safari, so that we could fly in, go safari, fly out without long drives as our time was restricted. So this was perfect. It is only ~30 mins from Skukuza airport and also 30min drive to Paul Kruger Gate, entrance to Kruger Park. It is a 3star accommodation but it is super-nice.We stayed in the Luxury Cabin overlooking the Sabie River. It has 2 bedrooms,sitting room,really nicely tiled bathroom, and a fantastic porch to sit and watch the wildlife on the river-a family of hippos was daily viewing and a crocodile sunning on the river bank.

There is also a decked area for all guests with small swimming pool, overlooking the river. Again perfect for watching wildlife on the river while enjoying a cold drink! Lovely grounds and gardens meticulously cared for. Very friendly, helpful staff. The bar is nice with satelite TV to show sports- eg Premier league and European football.We were halfboard, breakfast very good (full English, omelette) and dinner also very good and varied each night.They arrange safari for an extra cost (amount very reasonable compared to other places). And the safari guides were great, really knowledgeable and keen to maximise our experience. We saw all the big 5 on the first day-even leopard which is difficult at the best of times. And Skukuza Airport is actually in Kruger Park.So safari starts from pick up at airport as you go to Sabie River Lodge!

We like the place, close to the kruger gate. We are always enjoying breakfast with the view to the hippos.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, we are vegetarian and they prepared us a veggie dinner. Thanks for that.

Great view of the river bed of Kruger. Fantastic bed, clean tent and bathroom. I did not understand the box with remote for aircon and plug system, thought it was a bit unnecessary. Loved the complimentary car wash! Staff is very friendly and rates for drinks are very good. Will be back!

We opted to stay for Christmas 2019, having first visited in 2016. We could not fault our first stay but can see that they have modified the accomodation and added extra seating in the gardens since our last visit. The staff work exceptionally hard to make your stay memorable and are always happy and polite. It is very well priced for half board in lovely surroundings, giving you the feel of the African bush. It is located a little way out so a car would be needed but is close to the Kruger, Panoramic route and the town of Hazyview. We would definitely recommend and return. It is our accommodation of choice when staying in the area.

Wish I didn't need to leave

Friendly staff and check-in was easy. I stayed in the tent for one night and stayed in room #5 for two nights. This room appeared to be a tad smaller than the tent but still good. There was a mosquito net on my bed but I didn't need to use it as it's winter time. Breakfast and dinner were both great. My favorite part was the ability to mingle with other travelers by the fire pit. Highly recommend it!

Lovely stay with river view

I was able to book this lodge at the last minute. I stayed inside a tent overlooking the river. Check-in was easy and staffs were friendly. Comfortable bed and there was even an outdoor shower but it was too cold to try that. The rate included breakfast and dinner where I was surprised by the quality and variety of food. There was a fire pit where folks mingled and shared experiences. Wifi was sporadic as it was hard connecting to whatsapp. Overall, a lovely stay for less than US$100 per night is a win!

The lodge is great value and in a fantastic location. Being outside the national park it is very competitively priced, but it is just a short drive away from the Paul Kruger gate. We were expecting the accommodation to be pretty basic for the price we paid half-board but we were very pleasantly surprised on our arrival. We stayed in Tent 4 with a river view and it was great. We saw the hippos in the river during the day (we also heard them at night but it didn't disturb us and we rather enjoyed it!) Given we were in a tent and you are only surrounded by canvas - you can hear the nearby main road. This didn't bother us at all and it did not disturb us during our stay. The staff are fantastic, they really do their best to look after you during your stay. Also the food was fabulous, we really enjoyed every thing we ate during our stay here. The only negative thing I have to add, and one I would advise other guests of - is that you check your drinks/food receipts when checking out and settling your bill. This is really our fault, as we didn't wish to check them and just settled the bill trusting it was in order, only later realising we had incorrectly been charged for 14 bottles of water from game drives which we hadn't had with the lodge, and 2 cokes from the bar. That said I am sure this was an honest mistake and that if we had checked the bill and raised this, I have no doubt it would have been resolved - just one to look out for if you are staying here.

All in all a beautiful place with an amazing view

Staff were amazingly friendly and professional. They were there to assist from start to finish and to find my car had been washed when I woke up was proof of the great service we were given and that the staff really go the extra mile. There is only 1 complaint, which is by no means the fault of the Lodge, but there must be a shabeen or tavern in close proximity, as lying on the deck looking at the stars and enjoying the nocturnal sounds of africa on Saturday evening, was ruined by loud music. As I say, this is not the fault of the lodge, but seems to be a bit of a problem.

Great price for half board! the lodge is small with warm and personal feeling. The stuff are very nice and professional and really try to provide a great experience to all the guests. They have a very nice day tours and sunset tours (Lucky the tour guide is super nice and extremely professional), and if you go out early they will pack your breakfast and bring it to your room before you go (at 5:00 am!).

The lodge is lovely, the grounds are nicely maintained. The room was lovely, comfortable and has everything you need. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is ok. Compare prices before booking, the lodge management charge a lot more than normal travel/ holiday websites. Book directly with other organisations for other tours.

2 night solo getaway to this lodge- amazing location over looking the Kruger - saw elephants play for 3 hours meters away from me having a g and t on the deck!

Very quiet in the week day evenings - so take a book to read as most people go to bed early or relax in there cabins after dinner - so little lonely when travelling solo! But highly recommended

Also the airport transfers didn't happen as they were busy so make sure you sort this out way before

Last tip - book ahead for the night time safari drive - it fills up quick and I couldn't get on !

Willem was a great safari guide and the all day safari trip was amazing ! Seen the big 5

2 night stay. Really enjoyed the food and the place is beautifully located on the Sabie river. Close enough to Kruger for day trips. Also enjoyed rounds of put put on site.
Free WiFi is provided but it did the work in our room. Nothing was done to rectify this when reception was informed.
Otherwise a very enjoyable stay, they even cleaned our very dirty car for us.

Great place to stay very close to Kurger national park main gate 20min away. Very relaxing place. The bathrooms are a little dated but still in a nice setting. There is a river at the bottom at the complex, and I was very lucky to see elephants coming down to the river to drink.

the hotel is correctly located , close to the kruger (30min) . Beautifull garden, nice team in the restaurant . BUT !!!
the person at the reception is completely incompetent . total lack of response to our questions. we had a problem of family and we had to leave the hotel urgently. no way to cancel the room. no assistance was given. we wanted to rent a car , even the transfer to the rental agency was not organizable by them . We had to make do by ourselve . In summary do not count on them to help you and do not go in this hotel if you do not have your own transportation. I find it quite deplorable hotel for 80 euro a night. Another point , the offer is limited to the restaurant has two menus and that's it . personally we had better food in city that hotel . Another point the shuttle to return in Johannesburg was organised but us because not possible to do it from the hotel !!!! incredibly incompetent !

I booked into the lodge for two nights. I'd recommend the Safari trips for sure! Willem, our guide, knew his stuff and clearly had a deep love for Kruger park and the animals. The food was good, as well, and the staff very friendly and helpful. BE SURE TO GET GOOD DRIVING DIRECTIONS before you go, as GPS is spotty. Or, fly into the park and make arrangements ahead of time for someone at the lodge to come get you.

We were there for only 2 nights but wished we had stayed longer. The tent was clean and confortable, the garden beautiful very well kept. The view from the pool is fantastic we saw buffalos and elephants both days we were there. And the service was fist class I would definitely recommend the lodge.

The hotel was extremely good value for money. All the staff were very friendly and provided a very high level of service. The breakfast and dinner (included in the price) was very good and paid for drinks were very resonably priced. The lodge overlooks the Sabie river, and even in the wet season we saw elephants and kudu on the Kruger side of the river grazing in the long grass. A very enjoyable stay.

Misleading description of room accommodation.

We were very disappointed with our 'luxury tent' and private facilities accommodation. Private facilities were a public washroom divided into Mens & Ladies. We did have an extremely small shower to ourselves but even this was not private. \"Luxury' in the tent was a bed, 2 tables and lamps and 1 chair. Nowhere to put things or hang anything up. No privacy, people walked by staring in to our zippered tent. A self catering kitchen was ours but useless to international
travelers. Being seniors it was not pleasant to have to put on shoes and use a flashlight to go to the bathroom at night.
Our contract stated complimentary breakfast which the desk said they would honour but on check out still charged us. It was removed.
Hotel and Hotels.com/Expedia should review the room type and not mislead. The hotel itself was in a great location, the restaurant was good, service good and the pool deck and river location offered wonderful viewing. Perhaps the management needs to be more involved and on top of the running of the facility.

Great place to stay once you find it!

Once we actually found this lodge we really enjoyed it. Tip: take the road from Hazyview towards the Kruger Gate for 23 km - look for the large sign on the right hand side of the road, and you're there! Good food, lovely ambience, and very comfortable, clean room. People were friendly and helpful. Hopefully by now they have put the GPS coordinates on various websites, coz the address of Krugergate is far too vague for any GPS system.

A quick safari

We stayed for 2 nights so that we could take in a full-day game drive to Kruger National Park (the lodge is about 20 km from the Kruger Gate entrance) before heading to a conference in the Pretoria area. We saw elephants in the river marsh area next to the lodge within 5 minutes of arriving and heard that hippos were out of the river next to the hotel later that night - we missed them only because we went to bed early in preparation for the early start of the game-drive (5:30AM) that left from and returned to the lodge. We saw an unbelievable number of different types of animals during the full-day game-drive. The set dinner menu and breakfast buffet was very good and filling. The beers and wine were very reasonably priced. I did not miss the TV and phone that were not in the room, but an alarm clock might have been nice to ensure that we were on time for the game-drive.

Greeted by very friendly Manager who provided great information about visiting Kruger NP.
All the staff were very friendly & attentive. Even had car washed everyday on return from safari.
Very pleasant & well kept grounds.
All in all a very comfortable lodge that is very close to Kruger NP that I would highly recommend to others & would return again.

Sabie River Bush Lodge

We stayed three nights at the Sabie river Bush Lodge. We had a self catering luxury tent but preferred to eat in the restaurant of the lodge for breakfast and dinner. The tent was indeed luxurious, bed extremely comfortable and view from the deck amazing over the Sabie River. We watched elephants for hours as they stayed along the bank of the river.

This place is awesome

This is one of the most incredible little places. You are in the bush but the rooms are just like any hotel. The deck overlooks the Sabie River and you get wildlife visitors the whole time. Hippos, impalas, elephants and that was just one day. The food (dinner and breakfast included) is fine dining and well done. The service was phenomenal. I can't say enough about the value you get. And they organize great game drives into Kruger National Park with their own truck and park certified guide. You won't believe your eyes.

The only down side is the noise from the neighbourhood on Friday evenings. But, this is outside the control of the establishment.
We found the place to be ideal for touring Mpumalanga.

JUST AMAZING

It was just an amazing stay. On my next visit to Kruger national park I will stay at this lodge and prefer to travel to the park every day. Everybody went above and beyond. I would say it was on of my best experiences so far.
Thank you Lukas for taking care of my car. When I had woke up in the morning and bought my luggage to the trunk my car was shining! it was extremely unexpected.
The hut was facing the Sabie river so you can see animals and dinner and breakfast were incredible.

A great place to stay when visiting Kruger. Staff were very friendly and the view from the pool was beautiful looking over the river into the park. A crocodile was sitting on a rock in the middle of the river. Lovely restaurant up in the trees with a great outlook.

Disappointing experience

Disappointing misrepresentation is the first word that flashes to mind. If it is a rough upgrade from a bush tent you're looking for, this place if for you. No in-room TV and no in-room Wi-Fi despite being advertised as such on their web page. It's some 40km from Hazyview and 19km from the Kruger gate so location not all that great. The food was awful, both breakfast and dinner, and we rather had our meals at other hotels in the vicinity, or in the Kruger Park at extra expense. The service in the restaurant was of a very poor standard. Having invited family as my guests over the weekend, it was a major embarrassment if anything. Our bathroom floor was screed only with no tiles and it was a well-established mosquito nest. Hygiene is not a priority at this establishment. Although the air conditioning in the room worked well and was much appreciated, the room door wouldn't close, the outside door had to be repaired as it wouldn't lock. The staff were friendly but not always helpful. The place is poorly constructed and badly maintained. Then I had endless problems with payment. Upon booking, it said no deposit on the Expedia website. Two weeks later 50% of the cost of stay was yanked out of my account without approval. It was refunded another two weeks later. But then unusually, full payment was demanded up-front when we arrived. Cell phone reception was poor or non-existent at times.

The Sabie River Bush Lodge is immaculate with impeccable service. Situated on the Sabie River 19 km west of Paul Kruger Gate of the Kruger SAN, you can have lovely dinners by the water and full breakfast with the works. We felt pampered and welcome and enjoyed our time there immensely. An occasional hippo or elephant strolls by across the narrow river and birds abound. Nice gardens, too. A real value. We will go back when next at Kruger.

Fomos muito recebidos, chegamos tarde no hotel, estavam jos esperando e prepararam um jantar. Aconchegante o local, vista oara o rio e as vezes é possibel avistar animais. Faço uma observação, ficamos 3 dias sem insternet, nos quartos nao twm tv. Foi bem desagradavel, ppis apesa da reclamação nao foi resolvido.

La localisation parfaite pour faire des safaris. Notre guide France a été exemplaire pour nous faire profiter de sa grande expérience et a été très prévenant. Le Lodge est situé près de la rivière où séjournent des hippopotames que l on peut voir tous les jours. Les chambres sont propres et la cuisine très bonne. Séjour en mai 2025.

We enjoyed our stay so much. Lodge where so easy to be and we felt our self very safe also. Everywhere where very clean and a hole place where decorated very cosy. Staff where so friendly and always ready to help. Breakfast where very excelent and dinner also. Remember to have vines, they where so good. We had lucky to see 9 elephant in a backyard and 2 hippos. Abbiamo alloggiato due sere in due lodge diversi perché in due date diverse. Due camere con un salotto enorme e terrazza vista fiume Kruger eccezionale. La ciliegia sulla torta sarebbe stata vedere da lì degli animali ed invece un ippopotamo si è mimetizzato subito.
Avrei gradito trovare un piccolo frigorifero nella zona caffè e che i condizionatori fossero stati meno rumorosi ma la cosa non ha rovinato nulla e ci tornerei anche subito.
Colazione e cena semplici ma buoni.
Personale cortese e mai invadente.
Si capisce che i proprietari ci tengono molto e lo curano con passione. Bravi continuate così e regalate un sogno ad vostri clienti.
