Nice view from common area looking over the water, staff very friendly (lady from South Africa), off street parking. Small but adequate rooms, older building, have to check-in before 8 pm as staff there 8-8.

Holmavik is a very small town with not too much in the way of tourist facilities - e.g., only a couple of restaurants, only one of which was open when we were there in late May. The Finna Hotel is well located, pretty much in the center of town, and is quiet and comfortable. The room was well equipped with coffee maker, comfortable chairs, and a corner to accommodate luggage. We did not try the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that; but it is good that breakfast is available as there is not much else, restaurant-wise, in town.

The young staff were very nice, recently arrived from Greece. Wifi was only working in the lobby, breakfast started later than most (8am) no elevator, no shampoo, furniture in room was tired. But it was clean and comfortable, all I really needed.

No tv or radio in the room, tv is in the main/common area.
Not much to do around town during winter. Our key lock box froze, but staff onsite were able to assist.

The room was quite cold even with the heating on.

The beds weren't very comfortable so we ended up leaving alot earlier than we had planned.

The shower was nice, and tea and coffee provided was nice.

The lady that checked us in was really friendly. On our arrival she kindly let us choose our room which was an upgraded version of the room we had booked. Our new room included a coffee machine and kettle. The view out of the window was amazing, we could see the ocean.

Hotel is a bit run down, and not well maintained. Walls have a lot dark line spots and nail holes. Guests were constantly slamming their doors. Bathroom is not too clean. Windows are not clean too.

Great and simple place to stay with view of town

Guesthouse type hotel offered a simple room with bathroom. No breakfast available in the winter months only coffee in the morning. Quick check-in process and very pleasant staff in a small town with public pool, supermarket and gas station. Most restaurants closed this time of year.

This is a little jewel of a hotel tucked away in a tiny town off the beaten path. The owners are so sweet and kind that it's like being with family. The rooms are comfortable and worth the money. The breakfast is lovely, and the owners will help you find places for dinner that are superb. Two thumbs way up!

The place requieres you to call a person to come and open it up for you, which is uncomfortable.

The smoke detectors went off because of steam from the bathroom, which is extremely annoying.

The rooms are taking apart, when using toilet paper, the holder just fell off.

The rooms are small but ok otherwise.

Terrible stay unfortunately

I booked two nights at this hotel as the town of Hólmavík was ideally located for us to fully explore the west fjords of Iceland. The stay started poorly when there was no parking available upon arrival (also it was a bit difficult to identify the hotel from the street). I ended up parking down the street at the church and waking up early to move the vehicle. Afterwards we checked in and found a weird smell in our room with the window wide open meaning the staff had hoped to air it out before new guests arrived. This meant the room was freezing. We inspected the small room and found a strange stain on the pillow and cleaning that was done poorly (just wiping around the bathroom items as opposed to lifting the bottle and wiping underneath). There was a huge fly buzzing around which I got rid of but in the morning there was a new fly to greet us. The bed was comfortable I guess but knowing there was a weird stain and that the room wasn’t clean made for a less than ideal sleep. The shower was terrible as well, it barely drained at all meaning every shower was a race against time or the basin would overflow and flood the room.
After one night we went down for breakfast. The food was good but the dining room was tiny and there was no where to sit for the short time breakfast is available. I then let one of the staffers know we would be checking out and she let me know we would get a refund for the second night we didn’t stay. So far no refund 12 days later. Would never recommend

Good, with some small fixes needed

We stayed the night on a tour of the area. The room was cute and comfortable, with a tiny but comfortable bathroom and comfortable bed. The biggest problem was the water temperature in the shower was uncomfortably hot - barely tolerable, even set as cool as it would allow. We discovered it after the desk closed for the evening and we didn't have time in the morning to ask for it to be fixed. A smaller problem was that the door latch was hard to close from the outside, so we had to slam the door closed each time we were leaving - I could hear guests in neighboring rooms become annoyed. Both problems are easily fixed and wouldn't necessarily affect other rooms (no one else slammed their doors). Breakfast was typical and good. We'd stay there again, but would check the room for issues before the desk closes at 10:00.

On est un peu surpris quand on arrive, surtout quand on voit les nappes en plastique sur les tables, mais très vite on change d'avis !
Chambre spacieuse, avec une cafetière nespresso.
Salle de bain un peu étroite, mais au moins ici, le mélangeur était efficace!
Petit-déjeuner avec des produits maisons, sortant du four !

Die Frau vom Empfang musste sehr lange auf uns warten und hatte es dementsprechend eilig. Sie war dennoch freundlich. Das Zimmer war wie erwartet, klein aber sauber. Leider konnte man an der Dusche den Temperaturregler nicht weit genug drehen, sodass es nur kochend heißes Wasser gab. Also konnten wir sie nicht benutzen.
