Incredible location: front door opens up on Forum,10 minutes to Coliseum and Roma Termini (a little tricky with construction in area to get around forum and Piazza Venezia. Wonderful staff at reception, housekeeping could be better, but this is an established fine hotel and excellent value for what it offers

It is a beautiful property overlooking the Roman Forum. Very convenient location, close to the Forum, Colluseum, and Palatine Hill.The breakfast buffet was amazing, so many excellent options, and there are many really good restruants just a half block away.

My stay at Hotel Forum was absolutely excellent from beginning to end. The location could not be more perfect—right in the heart of Rome, with stunning views of the Roman Forum that made every morning and evening feel magical. The hotel itself is charming, elegant, and full of character, while still providing modern comforts.

The staff was truly outstanding—always friendly, attentive, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure guests feel comfortable and well taken care of. My room was spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, with a very comfortable bed that made resting after long days of exploring the city a true pleasure.

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight of my stay. The variety and quality of the food, combined with the breathtaking view, created an unforgettable experience that I will always remember.

Overall, Hotel Forum exceeded my expectations in every way. It combines an unbeatable location, great service, and wonderful amenities, making it the perfect place to stay in Rome. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Eternal City, and I would definitely choose it again on my next trip.”

Unfortunately the AC wasn’t great, the room was insanely hot even with it set at the lowest temperature and the highest fan. The lifts were temperamental. Walls also paper thin. Could hear anyone who walked past the room at all times. Anytime a door opened on our floor it sounded like they was coming into our room. Great location however and walking distance to absolutely everything and right next to the Roman forum.

The bed was very comfortable and the room stayed cool.
The location was perfect, super walkable to all the main attractions and the buses are also super accessible. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

The Vatican we took a taxi. If you are use to air conditioning from US ask for a fan it helps. Laundry service with in half a block. Would stay here again.

Unfortunately, the staff seems to think it can get by on location alone.
There was no soap in my room and it took two days of requests to get some. One day, there were no towels. Rooms are old and need updating.

Not worth the price

This hotel was in NO WAY worth the price. There was a lack of service from the moment that we entered. Our bags were brought in from our taxi, but, were not offered help upstairs. This is notmally not an issue, but, this is an over $400 a night. The room was comfortable enough, except for the serious lack of air conditioning and poor wi-fi service. Again, I realize that this is a historic hotel, BUT, for the price they are charging, it does not seem worth it. There were absolutely no perks or updates to account for the price. The location is close to and overlooks the Forum, but, earlier in this same trip, stayed in the same area (without the view) for a third of the price and far superior service. I do not recommend this hotel. Although, the restaurant IS special.

We arrived in Rome on the train and had no idea where the motel was but found it was a short bus trip on bus 75 almost to the door. The location is fantastic, you can see the Colosseum from the top deck/Restaurant. The staff were wonderful, room clean, nothing was a fuss to them. Your close to restaurants and shopping.

Was supposed to be offered a complimentary room upgrade, but was told there wasn't any available. Was then told if I paid a room would be available - didn't like that. Also it is not made clear that the majority of the rooms are going to facing another building, therefore you do not have a view. Also was almost charged for a bottle that was noted as complimentary in the note left in the room.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Forum in the first week of June. We stayed for two nights and visited the rooftop bar one night for drinks and the restaurant for dinner the other night. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. They were extremely accommodating that we were traveling with a baby. We had the most amazing view from our room and they ensured we had enough space for a crib. The view of the forum from the hotel/ bar/ restaurant is truly spectacular. We would absolutely stay again and recommend to all our friends.

Hotel very centrally located and close to the Collosseum and other ruins. We never needed transportation. Charming stores and restaurants all around. It is a historical hotel which has old world charm. Have breakfast in the panoramic roof garden restaurant and enjoy a beautiful view. The only downside was if you want the quietness of a hotel room it is not as it has thin walls and you can hear lots. We would stay here over and over again.

Staff was wonderful, kept our luggage while we toured on our third day in Rome. They helped get a cab and made our transfer seamless.

Keep in mind we did need to sleep with the windows open as rooms get warm, even in April. With the windows open it’s very, very loud at night.

Gorgeous view of the Roman Forum, a short walk to the Colosseum. Also easy walk to metro to explore the other sites.
Staff fantastically friendly and helpful, topped off literally by the roof top restaurant and above again the American bar cocktail lounge.

Brilliant for it’s location. Does get quite loud outside late at night though, if you want to keep your window open. The room was perfectly clean and had the basic facilities needed. There is an old smell when you first walk in, you get used to it after a while but worth knowing it’s not a modern feel. Overall good hotel in great location for a visiting tourist.

The staff werre very friendly & helped out all our queries re how to get to places snd get about the city. Also it has a nice roof top bar which looks out onto the older Roman ruins and sights, there's also a restaurant but we didnt eat in the hotel & it looked like it was not frequented by too many hotel guests. It's very close to the sights & they're all within walking distance and restaurants & bars are in the area with several tips from the hotel staff on which ones to go to.

The location of the property is great. Near all the major points of interest. Because of the upcoming jubilee, there is scaffolding everywhere. Blocking views from hotel to the forum. The breakfast is nice & the breakfast staff is amazing. The property has an old charm, which I like but there is an awful smell in the elevators and hallways. It smells like a combination of wet old dirty towels/carpet & a dead rat. The rooms are fine, no smell. The price of this hotel does not match the property. Way over priced.

The hotel was nice a bit dated. The bathroom is very small I could barely fit on toilet my knee was press against the wall. The shower glass was 20”wide and not keep water in the tub it drenched the floor.

The staff were very friendly. They cleaned the room nicely. The bar on the roof was very nice great view. The restaurant we only ate breakfast was good.

Overall good experience overall bathroom was disappointing. Also the AC couldn’t cool room down had to open windows hopefully to get a breeze.

It is in a great area close to the colosseum and right next to the forum. It was a nice place to stay. However, the beds were not very comfortable.

The location is central to most of Romes main attractions. The views from our room and breakfast were amazing and lived up to our expectations. The building is old and as such there are some problems associated with this but it is to be expected and didn’t impact our stay. If you want to be in the centre of Roman ruins and experience old world charm then this is the hotel for you.

I do NOT recommend this hotel but I do recommend the restaurant.

- Great location for seeing the most popular sites.
- Hidden gem of a rooftop restaurant and bar with outstanding food, service and a one of the best views in Rome.
- Housekeeping was quick to help with an issue.

CONs
- Summertime issue... It lists AC but it barely works. Our room baked in the July sun and just could not cool down at night. They provided a fan but we could not get a good nights sleep.
- I'm all for old, charming hotels but the fixtures, furniture and bed were dated rather than charming.
- Given the issues above, this was ridiculously overpriced.

A separate issue... I asked for help booking early morning \"nice transportation\" to the airport. I described needing a newer large SUV or van for the family and bags. (You see many of these in Rome.) The gentlemen seemed confident in helping with this. He quoted a high fare but given our discussion, it was expected. When we met the transportation, it was a old, dirty, smelly 3 row van. At that point, I didn't have options and just had to go. I was also forced to pay cash or add 20 Euros. Simply put, I felt cheated.

I would highly recommend the Hotel Forum! The location is perfect. Close to The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and plenty of restaurants and shopping. A short walk to major attractions such as the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Staff is friendly and accommodations are good. We stayed in the Family suite which is very spacious and perfect for our party of 4. Two large beds on two different levels along with sitting area, desk, and large closet. Plenty of room for four with multiple suitcases and bags. Terrific breakfast on the rooftop cafe, something for everyone. On the day of check-out, our flight was delayed but the front desk allowed us to stay an extra hour, even though the hotel was fully booked. It was a lifesaver! The layout of the hotel is very odd. We had to take two different elevators to get to the second floor. These quirks along with traditional European decor made for an interesting stay. I would stay here again and would highly recommend the Hotel Forum.

Literally steps away from the Forum and a few minutes to the Colosseum.
I enjoyed having breakfast every morning with a gorgeous view and listening to the street violinist play.

Location is everything in Rome and this hotel has it. You are right by the Colosseum and all of the historical ruins. The view from the rooftop restaurant is amazing and you will take in these spectacular views every morning at breakfast. The breakfast had a good variety and was great. The room was comfortable, but you probably won’t be spending much time in the room except to sleep. We enjoyed the charm of the hotel and how unique to Rome it is. There are also a dozen really good restaurants right outside the hotel so you don’t have to go far for excellent food. Our only wishes would have been that the rooftop bar stayed open longer (closed at 10:30) and the front desk staff to be a little more communicative.
