The hotel is an excellent place to relax and unwind. It feels like being at a retreat, where you can relax in an easy going environment surrounder by green grasses and great beach view.. Excellent dining options with high quality ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception, the restaurants, and at the beach. We loved our seaside villa. The daily fruit plate and mineral waters are a nice touch.

Very beautiful hotel. The staff was very welcoming. Lots of dining options to choose from. We loved the restaurant outside that had nice smoothies and live musicians that played instruments & also sang live. The food was so fresh and lots of options in the buffet restaurant. The staff was so attentive in picking up used plates and offering drinks. They had a nice selection of wines as well. Our room was very comfortable, big king size bed, lots of counter space, lamps, and bathroom was clean with separate toilet room. I loved the tile floor as it was clean. The mini bar came with a kettle for tea and coffee. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for a peaceful and welcoming getaway

My wife and I had a wonderful trip the La Cigale. From the moment we arrived the staff was welcoming and friendly. The spa was very relaxing and offered beautiful views of the sea and coastline. The rooms were modern and spacious and housekeeping was thorough and frequent. The cafe was our favorite, a great place to relax and unwind after a day of walking around the hotel and swimming in the pool. The restaurants and buffets offer a good selection of food and great service with a smile. The jazz bar was perfect for some music and a drink by the fireplace.

La Cigale Tabarka Hôtel Spa & Golf proved to be a highly disappointing stay. The food at both the buffet and a la carte restaurants was terrible, necessitating constant order changes, and the high prices did not match the quality. The internet was a major issue, with unreliable and slow wifi that rendered it virtually unusable. The room experience was marred by a clogged shower drain, leading to a room change that required unnecessary effort. Moreover, the initial room did not match the promised full sea view, prompting a struggle with the staff to get what was paid for. While some staff members were commendable in their efforts, they could not compensate for the overall letdown. Considering the exorbitant cost and various disappointments, I would not recommend this hotel and have no plans to return.

Marriage proof required if one partner is Tunisian

We are a German/Tunisian couple and were asked to provide a marriage certificate. As in other countries with similar requirements, the workaround for nonmarried partners is to book two rooms (ask for a heavy discount for the second one). Not sure if the same requirement applies to non-Tunisian couples.

Either way, the hotel is fantastic and deserves all the praise it has received from others. SUPER clean rooms. Excellent gym. The staff is EXCEPTIONAL and the facilities are second to none. In the (unexpectedly rainy) month of May '23, it was packed on weekends but less so on weekdays – it seemed as if the indoor pool was only fully heated on weekends. Everything else seemed to be of the same high quality, whether weekend or weekday.

According to staff, most guests are Tunisian and Algerian, plus some from GCC countries and significantly lower numbers from Europe. However, especially as a European, I found the hotel and the location to be PERFECT. If you are NOT only interested in beach life (go to the eastern coast for that) but also love to explore the culture and people of Tunisia, then this is THE place to go to. Aside from seeing Tabarka and its fort, you should rent a car (EU driver’s license suffices) and discover the beautiful green mountains of the Jendouba Governorate… go to the markets in Bou Salem and Ain Draham, or visit the tiny Beni M’tir which even has a small waterfall. It is the perfect location for those who do not just want to be \"getting-a-tan tourists\".

My advice do not hesitate to spend a few nights at La Cigale Tabarka. The personal are nice pleasant the food excelent enjoy also the cafe maure. Our stay was unfortunately short only 2 nights but next time it has to be longer. One detail the curtains must be either changed or washed. We got 2 rooms see view wonderful view. Many places you can visit nearby the hotel as Ain Drahem, Tabarka ...unforgettable stay

It is really difficult to rate the stay. Although it is a beautiful hotel it has also many shortcomings that I would not expect from a 5 star hotel and during the pandemic season when there are almost no tourists.
First impression was good: we have booked the stay with hotels.com and had to postpone the trip therefore we have contacted the hotel and received a confirmation for our new date without any problem.
Sea view villa was nice, spacious and met our expectations. Although the kettle was not working properly - I had to hold the button to boil the water and there was no coffee machine (only some instant coffe bags). Since we just came from another hotel (4 stars) where we had good coffe in the room I foud it surprising.
The biggest issue was the mattress: VERY soft. Generally only you lay down you land in a hole. After the first night I woke up tired and with a back ache. We asked the houskeping lady if they can do something - put an additional layer or change the mattress. The answer was NO. After the second night when I woke up in real pain we went to the reception and were told that the mattress can be flipped and that the bottom side should be less soft. This has been done, but unfortunately did not really helped so before the night we went to the reception again and were offered another solution: exchenge of the mattress for a new one. New mattress was much better, although still to soft to my preferences.
Bottom line is that we had to speak with several staff member

La cigale Tabarka was on our list on a business trip, so we had a 3 visits to different areas of the city, the gate security officer was very rude and disrespectful calling me (that one) and didn't allow me to enter the hotel with a business partner (a man) to discuss about our business plan in the reception. We were planning to bring many guests to this hotel but due to the service we got, we changed our plan. The receptionists on checkout didn't know which room i had and argued that i have to pay again while my stay was all paid before arrival. We will not visit again until we dont receive an explanation.

Firstly, this is not a 5 star hotel by any means in comparison to staying at a 5 star hotel in the States or in Qatar. The amenities were great, there are things to do for all ages including children/ infants.
Our shower barely had any water pressure. Our room was not the cleanest.... the floors were sticky.
Also they did not allow anyone to come and visit the hotel that was not a guest, meaning to have dinner. We had extended family here who wanted to visit us but were unable because they were not paying guest. They said it was a security issue which means it must not be safe place.
The most disturbing part of my stay was the Spa treatment. I never felt so disrespected. I went for a Hammam treatment and I don’t think she knew what she was doing. First of all no one smiled or greeted me. One women pointed to a locker to put my things in. The person working with me didn’t explain anything. She had no respect. I had to ask for items to drape myself because I’m very conservative when it comes to having my body exposed. There was a significant language barrier for anyone who spoke English. She pored soap in my eyes and after that I lost it.
I still had to pay for a service that lasted for less than 30min. I thought the person I worked with was rude and not at all accommodating including the management. I had to send my husband to talk to them since he knew the language. Needless to say I will never be coming back to this place.

As a Tunisian I know what to except of a 5 star hotel in Tunisia.
I was full of hope when I booked my trip to La Cigale - knowing the hotel in Doha and its standard I was expecting the same.
Staff: cleaning ladies, waiters, spa crew, etc. food and amenities are amazing BUT reception crew and hotel rooms are disappointing.
1 hour and 15 min to check in in rooms not cleaned and ready and 20min to check out because of receptionist busy with some VIP guests.
No water pressure in the shower, leaking AC.
DISAPPOINTING!
High season or VIP should not make the quality of service go down.

-The hotel is very clean and beautifully decorated
- the spa is really good especially the sea water hydrotherapy.
- the landscape is very well cared for and very clean.

Cons:
- the \"sea\" view room was only partial sea view at best, there was a huge umbrella blocking the view of most of the rooms in the first floor. I called the hotel 10 days before my arrival and insisted that I would like a room with a real sea view and the reservation guy assured me that all the rooms are the same and all have a perfect view, well that was just a big lie.

- reception staff was not very helpful when I asked for another room with an unblocked view they told me that the hotel is full and this is the only room you're gonna get, I had no choice.

- the hotel is more like family oriented, there is several playgrounds for the kids and this is a pro for someone with family, but for someone like me who took his wife to have a romantic retreat it is a con, there was kids every where, it was like a kg school :)

Although it's one of lthe leading hotels in Tunisia they still need to improve the quality of the services.
I booked through hotels.com and was obliged to pay supplement for my 4 years old daughter based on the hotel rate which is not fair.
I was obliged to wait for almost 1 hour to get my room despite the fact that I arrived at 2 pm which is the check in time
You cannot get a good room (the one that you paid for) from the first time. You need to move many times until you find the one which is suitable for you

Stuff are very rude if you have any issue and ask for management, forget it they will give you the run around and will never deliver your message.
i was a newly wedded , they refuse to let the cameraman do a shooting session for me , my room wasn't decorated, it a was in very poor conditions ( as shown in photos attached).
And when you complain about it they take their sweet time to fix things .
Advise to all my western travelers please don't go their, don't waste your time and money.

the buffet was excellent the first evening but the second evening noticed some old shrimp cocktail from the night before still be served.

We arrived a day early by accident and they bent over backwards and found us a room barely cold from a previous guest for the night. Moved us to our regular room luggage and all with me hardly doing anything. View from third floor balcony was beautiful. The pools were prestige and always cleaned. Spa is outstanding clean and modern. 4 dining options and a buffet at breakfast has everything. Family oriented for sure but if you want quiet this isn't the place kids every where. Nice gym and kids entertainment areas. Beach was clean crystal clear water and just a few rocky areas. Security is tight and I as an American felt very safe. Qatar's football team was there and extremely nice bunch of young men. My only complaint was getting there several hours drive until the airport get back to full operation from Tunis but I understand flights from Paris exist.

Very disappointed by their discriminatory rules

I've booked a night with with my wife at La Cigale, Tabarka, Tunisia
We have been informed that my wife cannot swim in the swimming pool because she is wearing a swimming suit. We have been shocked by this as we consider it very discriminatory and we couldn't do nothing about it.
We slept the night and it was a very bad experience to feel discriminated.
We will not return to this hotel anymore.

Perfect stay. Incredible SPA

Very nice experience Hotel is clean food is perfect especially the spaghetti with sea food in the beach restaurant. SPA is just amazing one of the best I visited in my live.
