We initially thought the property would be a bit out of ways, but ended up being in a very convenient location. The apartment we had was awesome. We found it spacious enough for a family of four and had a very cosy and welcoming feeling. Overall everything was clean, neat and well organised. All the basics were provided for and we found the host to be very approachable and welcoming.

You will not be disappointed with your stay here. It has a feeling of opulence with it's large period decor rooms and four poster beds. Our apartment had three large bedrooms and fully kitted kitchen and a lovely bathroom with a free standing bath and a separate shower too. They lounge dinner again was lovely and spacious.
The receptionist was so helpful and it was her first day working there but was so very attentive. The staff should be congratulated for their hardwork as it really shows. Would definitely stay here again.

We arrived for our two night stay around 5pm. We were greated and walked over to our apartment by the owner. When we entered we were surprised to see such a large space. She told us we were in the 4 bedroom appointment. I was surprised because I booked the 2 bedroom apartment. She said not to worry about it this is where we were to stay.
The apartment itself was nice and clean. A few things I found odd was the bathroom lights were on timers. And if you were sitting on the toilet for more than a minute the light would go off and the sensor is far away leaving you in darkness.
I also didnt love the master bedroom as there was no door and there were huge windows and a skylight. We had traveled for several hours and were so tired. But it doesnt get dark in June until late so we were trying to sleep with no darkness
But overall everything was pretty good. It was clean and we were comfortable.
The only bad thing when I went to check out they tried to charge me nearly 1000 DKK more than I had booked the room for. Luckily I had my hotels.com receipt and knew that I was being over charged. The did change it but I have a feeling that the bigger apartment was empty so they put us there and then tried to charge me for it.

Beautiful idea, but room could be better.

We have stayed here before and loved it all. Unfortunately the room we were given this time was not as nice as the one before. While the bed was pretty good and the bathroom very nice with a spa bath, the sofa and chair in the room were poorly upholstered and uncomfortable and the TV was badly positioned so it could not be seen from one side of the bed. The evening meal was not up to the standard we expected. My Wienerschnitzel was a little tough to chew and the service was rather slow. Breakfast was satisfactory.

Fantastic spacious and comfortable room

The room was not just a room, but an apartment. It was themed based on Africa and we had the Emperor's room. The bedroom was wonderful with a very comfortable bed. The living area had 2 leather settees. The paintings on the walls were fabulous. It was nice and quiet and we would definitely stay there again when in the area. Oh, the bathroom had a large wooden bath and a great shower.

Great hotel that offers a lot of space in a comfortable, clean and quaint setting. There is not much in the town but we had everything that we needed within a one minute walk; onsite restaurant and ice cream stand, grocery store, offsite restaurant, carry out grill stand and a pizza restaurant. Check in was easy and we received very friendly service. Definitely worth the few extra minutes drive.

Enjoyable enough

We are a family of 5 (kids 15,12,10) who visited Lego House and Legoland. We were unable to get reasonable accommodation in Billund. We found this hotel 35mins drive away in a small town called Holsted. The hotel is made up of several fairly big apartments, the reception was closed and we were not greeted by anyone. We did not meet an employee during our stay. Our apartment had a firestation theme which was quirky but maybe unnecessary. The apartment was 2 storey with the kids room in the basement and ours upstairs beside the kitchen.There was only one bathroom which was also in the basement, this was kind of annoying especially if you wanted to use it during the night. The shower was also directly beside the toilet so maybe not great from a hygiene point if view. There was a breakfast room available but we did not use it as we thought it was expensive for what you get and especially when there is a supermarket a 2 min walk across the road. The World Cup was on during our stay and we were able to watch the games on the flat screen TV provided. Overall our stay was enjoyable enough. By the way Holsted itself was dead and had nothing to offer. We would advise anyone going to Billund to try and get accommodation there.

Fabulous Family Apartment - 30mins to Legoland

3 bedroom family apartment, modern, spacious, clean & well equipped. All rooms are different and set in a character property. Staff very helpful, call on the phone helped establish which room to book. About 30min drive to Legoland Billund/Billund Airport.
Supermarket directly opposite and pub/pizza just around the corner.
Great value in high season compared to Billund hotels. Thoroughly recommended.

Stayed there with the kids to visit Legoland and see a little bit of the Danish countryside. The room was great. Bedrooms were spacious and had all the amenities to be expected. I can warmly recommend the Postgården to everyone.
The Postgården is nicely located in a quiet town of Holsted with a store across the street, which makes grocery shopping easy. Driving to Billund or connection to E20 was simple.

Deep copper tub!!

The 6 pm check in deadline caused us some stress and alteration of plans. When we got there, though, I got the impression it wasn't necessary(?). Not sure if that is misinformation on Hotels.com or the hotel's issue.
The place was fantastic ...the deep copper tub was a huge hit for me!! The proprietors were very pleasant and helpful, including calling ahead to a restaurant to make reservations for us. The breakfast was nice...typical of Danish breakfasts...which I love! I would definitely recommend this place.

Unfortunate symptoms in historic boutique hotel

Unfortunately the apartment in Tingshuset where we were staying was evidently not healthy. One in our family had terrible astma symptoms (with previously heavily sensitized to mold).
Also, all the clothes caught a distinctive smell, strong smell of cellar/unhealthy basement. Beautifully furnished apartment and everything worked smoothly, but in an evidently unhealthy, old historic building. Not fit for accommodation in our opinion, more like a museum. Had terrible symptomps of cough and runny nose after two nights + smelly cellar-scented baggage. Would recommend to look elsewhere, other buildings. What a pity, such a beautiful place!

Abbiamo prenotato attirati dalle tante ottime recensioni. Appartamento sicuramente scenografico, ma poco funzionale. La camera con Iil etto kings size al primo piano non è utilizzabile in quanto non puo essere oscurato e quindi rimane con la luce del giorno, impossibile dormire. Inoltre la descrizione parlava di un balcone, inutilizzabile anche quello perche si affaccia all'interno di una gelateria.....
Il bagno è grande, ma il soffione della doccia è difettoso, abbiamo fatto la doccia con il doccino. Inoltre facendo la doccia si allaga il bagno.
La cucina è poco funzionale, per arrivare dal lavello alla lavastoviglie bisogna\" girare\" intorno al frigorifero con i piatti.
Le camere al piano terra sono piccole, i letti in parte rotti. I materassi di tutti i letti, sia quelli del piano terra che quelli al primo piano, andrebbero cambiati perche inarcati.

Vi bodde i det gamla Tingshuset som är ett annex till hotellet. Man har gjort en häftig inredning men boendet var kallt. Sängen knakade mycket och var obekväm. Rummet stort och det var rent. Spännande och intressant boende men finishen var inte bra.

Utrolig hyggeligt sted med charme og hjemlig følelse. Rigtig mange sjove detaljer i indretningen. Rigtig hyggelig værtinde.
Rengøring kunne være bedre og den chokolade der var lagt frem var udløbet på dato sidste år.
Gardin på badeværelse var helt grønt i bunden af fugt.

Et hyggeligt spændende og æstetisk hotel der virker til at være bygget op over et tema der repræsenterer det Afrikanske og Britiske kontinent

Der er hele tiden noget nyt og spændende at finde for det nysgerrige øje og der er tænkt nøje i detaljerne

Blev F.eks overrasket over at der midt i værelset som opdeling imellem himmelseng og sofagruppe stod et brugbart badekar på løvefødder

Og at der ved den udemærkede morgenbuffet også var mange finurligheder og detaljer i lokalet at udforske imens kaffen gled ned

Bodde i den största lägenheten som omnämns: \"Deluxe-4-sovrum-balkong. Lägenheten var helt ok med kanske mer fokus på design än funktion. Bra service från personalen. Dock är det missvisande att det ska finnas en balkong. Finns ingen riktig balkong utan enbart en inomhusbalkong som är in till en glassbutik. Däremot fanns det en utgång till en gemensam terass - bättre att den omnämns istället. Dessutom saknades mörkläggningsgardin till det stora rummet på övervåningen där \"balkongen\" är - det fanns bara en tunn skir gardin framför det stora fönstret och balkongdörren av glas innebärande att det var insyn till det stora rummet från glassbutiken. Då vi inte var maxantalet för lägenheten kunde vi välja det andra sovrummet på övervåningen men kan vara bra att veta för att som är fler och som tänker boka.

Erg goed en leuk hotel. In de kamer staat een groot hemelbed en de overige kamers zijn ook in stijl ingericht. Het ligt op een mooie locatie midden in het dorp. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en het ziet er allemaal netjes uit.
Een echte parel in deze regio!

Unikt hide away

Virkelig unikt sted! Her er der kræset for detaljerne og det er absolut pengene værd! Vi var dog ikke vildt glade for vores lejlighed som viste sig at ligge i stue-etagen. Vi måtte rulle alle gardiner for, også i dagtimerne, og det var lidt træls. Samtidig lå soveværelset lige ud til landevejen…
Der var lange spindelvæv i badeværelset, og der var flere ting som var slidte.
Spisning i det blå tog kan anbefales, som et lille stykke Frankrig
Leder du efter et hide away er dette klart stedet.

Hyggeligt sted med personlig betjening.
Utraditionel indretning med afrikansk tema.
God mad i restauranten men det anbefales at bestille bord da der er få pladser og begrænset åbningstid.
