The hotel look like a 5 star. Everything are excellent. But it’s not in a tourist area and it’s not a metro close by. The good news is that Didi (Chinese Uber), are very cheap. You must have Alipay for everthing. It’s a great App for everything you need in China.

Facilities of this hotel are too old! Lots of hardwares failing like sliding door failed to open, bathroom door got leaking from upstairs etc. service is good but hardware need lots of maintenance!

1. The staff charged me for another room without my consent and no notification since assume the other room familiar with us; 2. Swimming pool occupied by kids from outside/other than customers of the hotel the whole days, around 20 kids all the time, and noisy since the hotel make it open to the kids learning/training swimming, no enough space even no one lane for the client. I won’t come again, and I won’t recommend this hotel to my friends. And this is the second time I came. I switched to another hotel the same month.

Old property but it's one of the few hotels that are allowed to accept foreigners in the area. Furnishing and interiors are definitely not modern but quaint nonetheless. Comfortable bed. Free WiFi worked well. Breakfast buffet was very good, with plenty of Western options and an omelette stand.

Starting off with the good. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel was clean and tidy. I booked a king size room, but was downgraded upon check in to a room with 2 single beds. As a 1.95 meter tall person, the single beds were too short. And with one of the walls being shared with an elevator shaft meant I didn't sleep very much at all. The staff weren't very well versed in English.

Comfortable stay in western Beijing

Good hotel option if you need to be in western Beijing. It's quite a distance to most attractions, plan on 1hr to most places. An 800m easy walk to the subway, taxis organised within minutes by concierge. A mix-up at check-in resulted in a fold-away bed being setup in the room, the attendant didn't speak English so we let them proceed.

Large very comfortable room with excellent bathroom, loved the massive walk-in shower. Quiet room which could have done with proper block-out blinds, in my room they finished 6\" short of the window allowing a lot of light in the room. Bed was super comfortable! Free wifi with reasonable speed albeit a lot of sites are blocked in China (not the hotels fault).

Breakfast in the buffet area was OK, large variety of food choices and types but generally lacklustre in taste. Check-out quick and efficient.

A horrible experience

Had to move twice -the first room smelled of paint (or chemicals). The second, even though the room (and the whole floor) were labeled non-smoking, would fill up with smoke in the mornings and evenings. Tobacco smoke was also unmistakable in the corridors. Moved again - same problems, possibly even worse.

Depressing and unattractive

Honestly, I wasn't impressed. My room smelt musty, the bathroom was dark, the bed was soft (although some might like that), and the view was directly on to the back of a building that turned out to be another wing of the hotel. Depressing.

Loved it. Beautiful and very comfortable. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Only complaint was the smoking on the non-smoking floor. Smelled of fresh cigarette smoke getting off elevator, and also smelled in our room. Coming through air vent or from hall, not sure. Also room carpet could use a shampooing.

Great hotel- highly recommend!

Really enjoyed my stays in this hotel! It was so nice the first time I was in Beijing, that I came back and stayed there two more times before leaving China. The lobby is gorgeous and very inviting. The front desk staff and concierge staff are super friendly and helpful. One concierge went out of his way to go across the street with me to help me buy a cell phone SIM card when I had trouble speaking Chinese with the clerks there. The rooms are really beautiful, spacious and comfortable. My only problem was the slow internet, which was slightly better in one room than in another during another stay. The breakfast was super fantastic, really one of the best anywhere. I'd love to stay there again when I am in Beijing.

If you had business around Chang An West, I assume that you could do worse than this hotel.
I guess that I was just expecting a hotel within an international chain to have counter staff who confidently speak English.
If you don't speak Mandarin as well, some of your requests may fall into the language gaps.

Cost and Performance Ratio is reasonable

In general, it is a nice hotel to stay, clean, comfortable and not expensive with good facility including a small swimming pool which is just nice for some exercise. Unfortunately, I didn't have chance to try the restaurant. The Cafe is the ground floor is nice though. I will recommend friends to stay in this hotel if they have business in the western part of Beijing.

Hotel location is about 15 - 20 mins walk from the closest metro station (Wukesong -- line #1 red). The AC in the room was not cold ... room got cooled down only late at night (after blowing for the whole day)!

Beware!!! Map is wrong.

Hotel is fine but the booking site's map is wrong. This hotel isn't couple of kms North/North east of the Forbidden City, is an hour by taxi West. Check the address before you book.
