We stayed in a two bedroom villa and it was spacious and well cleaned. There is nice patio on the ground floor with a small table and two lounge chairs. Also visited the indoor pool. You have to have a swimming cap to go in the pool. They sell them for 5 Euros or you can buy the a the local Decathlon for 1.50 Euros. There is a grocery store 1 minute away. The people were wonderful and accommodating. We will be back!

This is the second time I have stayed here. And I love it.
The 2 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms, sitting room and full kitchen really work for us.

The transport from the airport was about 25min. Check in was easy but room not available until 3pm. We were still allowed to use facilities and our AI bands worked.

Double check screws on all sunbeds around pool. It broke & I really hurt myself.

Volume of music/microphone around pool to loud.
Soft serve ice cream (kids pool) looks nothing like the pictures. Horrible fake taste and really small portions.
When having a shower it can take a while for the water to drain away.

Booked whole package trip through Expedia but the transfer to/from the hotel caused to much grief.

Caters for family's of all ages. can choose what board you want as they offer all inclusive, half board or full board. Nice big kitchen in Villas and Apartments with all amenities if you wish to cook yourself. Very clean and nice views around the property. Food was very nice in the restaurant.
Good to have an adult pool to getaway from the kids.

Eden Villas was a perfectly pleasant stay for our family. The 2 bed villa was perfect for our needs and very spacious. We were all inclusive but there was a good kitchen should you wish to cook.

The main pool was refreshing although a little small for the size of resort. It got very busy. Very much aimed at families but definitely for those 10 and under. Not much, if anything for teens.

Did have to get up relatively early to get a sunbed. They say they can only be saved for 30 mins max but I only saw towels removed once (that I saw).

Food and drink are as expected at this level of All Inclusive - whilst different dishes are on offer and in plentiful supply, it all felt very repetitive after a few days. Nice a la.carte that you can book once (but no choice, set menu).

Shuttle bus to beach is OK, but the Eden area is a bit of a trek from drop off and the sea there is very seaweedy. Better to go to the Old Town and go to the beach there.

Shuttle bus is very much needed as resort is far from anything really. Am sure you could walk but tough in August heat. Taxis are cheap though. But don't expect to pop out to a local bar.

Onsite shop is limited and open 9-6.

Entertainment was enthusiastic - not much for teens as I say.

All in all a perfectly decent holiday. Just a few things to be aware of surrounding location etc.

Resort is catered to families but not well executed. Food was quite overpriced compared to restaurants in town. Kid club area and toys are quite dirty and run down. Childrens waterpark was great. Pools nice. They had bouncey castles and remote control cars for kids that was quite fun. Overall nice variety of activities in the resort.

Entertainment shows were so bad. bad …the circus show was probably the worst thing I tried to sit theough. Disappointing because the aesthetic and allure of the big circus tent on the grounds is so alluring. They should hire some actual acrobats.
The road going up to the resort and sidewalk leading into Eden is a garbage wasteland. It doesn’t matter if that’s not your property pick it up it’s the first thing people see coming into the resort. They walk by it going into town. Must fix.

Absolutely amazing resort with so much to do for young children. There is entertainment every hour of the day and the night time entertainment is out standing. Highly recommend. We didn’t go all inclusive and disappointed we didn’t as when we got there it was booked up.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with 2 children under 5. This review is our honest opinion. The food is AWFUL for vegans / vegetarians. Very limited dishes in comparison to other resorts we have stayed at. We tried the food everyday but to our dismay we had to resort to uber eats or outside food. The drinks kisok in the reception is not open all day till 6pm. Did not feel all inclusive at all. To get drinks or snacks you have to go to the pools, which you may not want to do if you have kids who just want to jump into the pool. Rooms are not cleaned unless you request it. No cleaning products provided for self cleaning. Entertainment was very disappointing, nothing exciting for children or adults. No scenic views. The resort is in a dead jungle area where you see no beauty. You have to walk a lot to get anywhere in the resort. Our experience overall was disappointing, would not go back.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa which was perfect for us with 2 adults and 2 young adults 20 and 17. Both bedrooms were ensuite which gave us all plenty of space. We loved the fact each property had its own terrace with sun lounges as well as living and dining area inside. There was lots of entertainment around the pool and they encouraged everybody to join in. The life guards were great too. All bar and dining staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Sophia the duty manager was helpful and the greeting we got on arrival was appreciated. The Eden Resort is close to the Old Town so its easy to walk in or get an uber. There is also a shuttle bus that the hotel provide. We had a brilliant holiday and will probably go back to Eden Resort in the future.

Our accommodation was very nice, spacious, well equipped, and very clean. The resort overall is very family-focused, so there is a lot of noise around the family pool and the AquaPlay areas, but there are quiet areas further away, including around the adults pool. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Some areas, such as the toddlers' play area, are a bit tired looking and could do with a bit of attention and better equipment. While I was playing with my grandson in the family pool, I badly cut my foot on a grating on the bottom: I reported this to a member of staff, but I don't know whether anything was done about it. There are limited dining facilities, considering that most people are on an all-inclusive deal, but there is a reasonable selection of food on offer and the menu appears to vary from day to day. For those paying, breakfast is good value, but dinner is on the expensive side.

An occasional shuttle bus is available to go into town, but taxis are inexpensive and easily available. It is only a few minutes run into town, where there are numerous restaurants and lovely beaches.

Great, but....

Pleasant resort. Clean, good facilities, good location (as long as you have a car, although Eden provides a shuttle to town). We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa, which are very nice indeed. It was however too busy. Not enough space at the swimming pool. Clean pool towels were rarely available. Our villa was only cleaned twi e during our stay. Eden is not a purpose build resort. I stead turned into resort after a property project didn't work out. For us it felt unpersonal. Value for money is questionable. There are better options around.

Great stay at Eden Resort. The food is really good, breakfast in particular. AI option is definitely worth it.
The animation team work tirelessly. The villas are great, we were in a 3 bedroom Villa and it was so spacious and comfortable.
Pool and splash park is great, would recommend for family’s with younger children as the entertainment/ environment is definitely aimed at them.

The property was great for the three of us specially as each bedroom had an En Suite. The space in each bedroom was comfortable and the space downstairs was terrific for our needs.

A small criticism-would be nice to have a couple of pegs to hang clothes in the bathroom while using it.

We have just returned from an all-inclusive week's stay at the Eden Resort, and we had such a lovely time! Here are our experiences of the Eden Resort:

1) Accommodation - we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. Each of the bedrooms was ensuite and there was an additional toilet downstairs. The rooms were all really spacious and felt luxurious! There were a few ants - we called housekeeping who came round with bug spray. It felt like a small price to pay given how fantastic the accommodation was.

2) Food - The selection and quality was brilliant. There were the basics (chicken nuggets, pasta, pizza, chips) for the less adventurous, and a wide range of other foods for those more adventurous. Ranges of salads, fruits, desserts, cheese - we felt very spoilt and ate loads!

3) Pools - the outdoor main pool and kids' splash park were really fun. We didn't go to the adults' pool so can't comment on that. Good amount of loungers, and the activities kept us entertained, especially the water polo! We did try the indoor pool in the spa but found it really too cold to enjoy.

4) Staff - everyone we met was super friendly and helpful. Special shout outs to Oscar, Fouad, Philippa and the lady who rides the unicycle, but there were many others who contributed to making us feel entertained and looked after.

5) Entertainment - The children's activities skew a bit younger (my youngest is 8 and was too old for most of them) but the adults' activities can work for kids too.

I found Eden Resort to be a lovely resort overall. It's beautiful with colourful villa's, plenty of green, lot's of space and quiet for those who love being away from the madness of the city, and fatastic kids entertainment throughout. It is and would be my first choice for a place for families to stay.

The issues I had with it were the amenities in my room. For the first two nights our air conditioning was broken. Unfortunately we didn't notice it at first because those nights were quite cool like an English spring night. But on the third night the heat had rolled in and the AC was non-existent. We practically slept drenched in sweat that night. I reported it the next morning and the good thing is they came and fixed it immediately but it had kind of ruined that day which was our last day so I only enjoyed the AC for the last night of my stay which was very brief.

Another issue was that one of the french doors for our balcony came off it's hinge which was a huge hazard for our kids. They also fixed it as soon as it was reported so good on them for that.

Third issue was that the bathroom fixtures seemed a bit old and rusted. There was also mould behind the bathroom sink/vanity unit, small line but not something I wouldn expect in a hotel.

There was also an issue with lots of bugs probably due to the the environment so ensure you buy bug spray.

However we had a splendid time and the staff were all very nice and friendly. The water splash/slides for the kids is amazing.

Lovely villa but overall a little disappointing

Feel mixed about our stay here! The villa itself was great, spacious & quite well equipped. The pool areas were nice & always clean. The entertainment staff, especially the main girl, lovely. The taxi driver they recommended - Paulo - was a legend & really helped us have great holiday with his service & recommendations. The bar staff were nice &cocktails & pool food were ok.
On the other side, the reception staff were rude in 95% of our dealings with them. From an extremely slow check in, to being patronised and spoken to in an unkind manner when asking for help. Eg, we had our flights home cancelled, of course this wasn’t their fault but unhelpfulness over simple things such as trying to do laundry, made it much more stressful than it needed to be. I was really upset after how they spoke to me and other guests told me they had been reduced to tears of frustration too!
Around / in the pool children weren’t allowed to play with balls and there is no floaties allowed, not even tiny ones for babies which seemed odd. We were refused more than 2 pool towels despite paying for a stay for 5 people. Our bath / hand towels were changed twice in 10 days and both times we had to ask. The kids pool got “full” and you had to que to get in, kids club was full too. Maybe they should try a booking system? Or enough staff to cater for the amount of bookings?
I think the perception most guests got we spoke to is they were short staffed and had a lot that were still learning.

The staff were so helpful. The shuttle bus runs to the old town in the daytime - Drivers are so good.

Its an easy walk to and from the old town and the beach.

Good sized appartment but mattress on sofa bed uncomfortable. A few ants but not a problem for us. Notice in room from hotel to explain that it was due to rural location and that they would deal with them if we asked. Staff seemed friendly enough. Two good sized pools (both with toddler pools) for families. Only one day when we turned up in the afternoon and couldn't find a sun bed. Our 5 year old enjoyed the kids club although 8pm was a bit late for mini disco. 2 year old was happy in playground. 10 minute walk to good supermarket at bottom of hill. 20 minute walk into town. Shower was broken but was fixed as soon as we told them. Drinks expensive if you're not all inclusive 3 euros for a small cappuccino in a polystyrene cup.

The grounds of the property are stunning, resort is beautiful, not sure about all Villas but ours needed some TLC. Walls, Sofa, Beds, bathroom work tops all marked, windows broken and we had an issue with Ants which was resolved on our second night.
The pools are great, the snack bars are handy however at night we found it best to head to the old town for food.
The shuttle service was also great however only operates at selected times of the day.

Although we had an excellent holiday, the resort was not full. I don't know what it would be like if it busy.

Slightly unhappy with the lack of basic things in the kitchen, such as washing up liquid, potato peeler, scissors. The shower was barely powerful enough to wash hair and there was no shower soap in the changing rooms showers. The sauna was a little run down with missing tiles but worked fine. The worst and most frightening thing was the tilied floor by the pool and in the changing rooms. A small amount of water underfoot practically had you skating. I think far more mats are needed there. I had a great time but it’s those little things that matter.

Great stay at Eden resort

Very pleasant stay right from the start. Friendly helpful reception, the villa was more bigger than what we expected, free WiFi, clean, 3 bathrooms and was perfectly located with patio doors opening up to the pool area and playground (perfect if you have kids!). The resort is located very close the the old town of Albufeira with a free shuttle service taking guests into town 4 times a day!

We loved Eden Resort for our family holiday just after Christmas. It was lovely, sunny weather but not too hot. We spent days at the beach and exploring the town of Albufeira. The kids loved the playground, kid's club and indoor pool. We as parents loved the friendly staff, babysitting service, and all-inclusive food & drink options. We are recommending to all our friends with children, a great break to relax. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Vanessa & Sarah in the kid's club, they were great with our kids who are 2 and 6 years old.

Disappointing

I would like expedia to act on these reviews instead of requesting and not doing anything about it.
-rusted pipes showers and screens.
-not given the room I paid for and telling they’ve got no roms left.
-seeing a snake around the reception area and the staff ignoring our concerns regarding this and walking away as they said they were busy-scary.
-one of the managers being argumentative in dealing with my room changes and complain.
-they could do with food varieties and more choices on different days and times.

A mixed bag - good staff, properties need work!

Great resort and apartment size but some real issues! Electrics didn’t work - approx 50% of sockets dead. Fire alarm had been switched off and was showing a Fault light. Severely unequipped for self catering!! Very few utensils, nothing at all to clean with - not even sponges or washing up liquid, no oven gloves, very few basic pans (frying, large boiling pan) etc. Definitely set up for all inc guests!!
However, pool guy was great and super helpful moving parasols etc. Some of these could do with updating - broken backs, torn seating area etc.

Might be worth it if you book cheap but certainly not worth a large spend!

Got a really good deal on this. Before arriving we thought there must be a catch. The only thing we found was the pool outside our villa was out of bounds due to re-tiling. This wasn't a big problem. The only other thing was little hot water and the WiFi was a bit hit and miss. The actual villa was massive!!!!

Whilst the UK was enduring the 'Beast from the East' we had a very wet and windy 2 weeks in Eden.What could have been a very stressful holiday was instead a very relaxing fortnight thanks to the comfortable accommodation and excellent TV and WiFi.
Any problems- unable to use the in room safe/a small problem with ants-was quickly and efficiently dealt with by the ever helpful reception and housekeeping staff.
Although we had the opportunity to upgrade to all inclusive we decided to make use of the self catering facilities instead. These were more than adequate if you wished to simply heat up a pizza or boil an egg for your morning toast.
Location wise I more than managed my 10000 steps walking from the resort to the old town but was more than grateful for the opportunity to use the free shuttle bus. Climbing that hill was challenging.
Our 2nd visit and it won't be our last.

Booked the Eden resort last min.. as a family of six we struggle to find accommodation that fits us all in. beautiful clean spacious villa style accommodation lovely pool areas with nice spa facilities. A little way out from the resort itself a good 30 min walk downhill to the old town not particularly liked by the kiddies in boiling hot weather that being said the local taxis are cheap enough if you find the right one! Paulo fab taxi driver recommended by the hotel nice and cheap very friendly reliable guy. Also owns albefeira tuk tuks! Would def reccomend the beautiful old town lovely eateries and douviberr shops etc. Would Def return.

My family and I had a wonderful time at this resort. The town house we stayed in gave us plenty of space.There were two decent sized pools to pick from, with a good playground and kids club as alternatives when it got too hot. eden resort just outside old town with a bus from the resort running every 2 hours but only to old town not new which the younger friends wanted to go so had to get taxis.resort was for older people and in need of modernisation no proper kids club only playground and entertainment room was so small they didn't even have a stag.,food just ok and dining room not very big so if you go at peak times you will spend more time queuing .

We made booking with hotel .com and we received confirmation from hotel.com, but when we arrived to the hotel they said that they had not received any notice. We showed them the email from hotel . com and finally we were able to check in, after calling the hotel manager. Although we paid hotel.com when we made the reservation, still this booking is pending and we were not able to claim for free night after reaching 10 nights.

From the minute I got to Eden resort o found the staff to be helpful. The hotel was absolutely beautiful felt like I was in another world heaven on earth. Can not wait to return.. The only downfall was the food but it didn't matter as I went out to eat. Would recommend this hotel you will not be let down 😊

Awfull place don't waste your money

Awfull, do not stay here! Cold damp dark rooms. Very bare and bland.No hot water. Can't check in until 4pm. Broken travel cot. air con not working.
Asked for Highchair which never arrived. Rooms smelt musky. Food below standard and often cold. Tinned fruit for desert.All inclusive is rubbish compared to other hotels. Bar area is a few plastic chairs in the corridor.

Huge apartment. Clean and well located

We are a family of 5 and we had 3 bedroom apartment each with its own bathroom.
Really nice and plenty of space.
The swimming pool is a but small for number of people you might have in peak time. In our case was not bad.
We did not have full board but dining room is quite noisy due to bad aqustic.
if you plan to come for 1 week doing short trips in the area it is a perfect choice.

Lovely place to stay!!

On arrival there was a very easy check in, just a minute or so.
The 2 bedroom villa that we stayed in was by the pool and bar, great position and very close to the reception. The villa is stated as a 2 bedroom, when in fact there is a sofa bed in the downstairs lounge and a downstairs toilet, so it could accommodate 6 people.
The other 2 bedrooms are both ensuite, one is a double, which has its own large balcony, the other is a twin, which only has a Juliet balcony.
The villa has air conditioning, but to be honest we didn't actually use them. Although the temperature outside was hot, the villa kept very cool inside.
The lounge has a big tv, and there was always a good English movie on, these can be found on the Hollywood channel. There is also a patio from the lounge, this has a table and chairs and 2 sunloungers.
The only gripe we have was in the kitchen!! While the cooker, oven and microwave were good, you'd expect there to be a good selection of cooking utensils, c'mon it is self catering!!
There was no knife for chopping, so using a table knife was very difficult on most vegetables. It would have been nice to have a non stick pan as well, although the 2 stainless pans coped with most things on a low heat, as soon as you turned the heat up, food stuck to the pan and ended up a mess!!
For families staying for 2 weeks, be warned there is no washing machine, there was a space in the kitchen for one, but they haven't put them in.

Spacious but sparse!

We went as 2 couples, from that point the apartment was great-a double room at each end, large living room and kitchen. But-it felt empty! Very sparsely furnished! It was extremely basic dining set sofas TV sideboard done! Even the kitchen it stocked with basics no wine glasses/ no coffee maker. Although i do moan wine glasses were provided the following day. They could do so much a lamp or 2 to feel comfortable in the evening instead of the main lights, it just felt like they weren'the interested in the 'extras' that u would expect in a 4* property. A taxi was needed when u wanted to leave complex- approx €5, as the location is up the hillside, the pools were great not heated but OK first a dip! We never tried the food except a toastie preferring to go out into the old town! We love this area of Portugal and visit 3 times a year. We would return to here but using the taxi service 2-4 times a daye soon got us through the budget!

Had a two bedroom town house, was really lovely. There are three pools and one is just for adults. We had a garden. The only thing is there is a hill from hotel which is quiet steep on the way back up. About twenty min walk to the old town or taxis, about 4 euro.

Lovely Complex

Just back from a one week stay in a two bedroom villa. Couldn't fault the villa at all. Lovely and spacious, plenty of room for all 5 of us and we were over looking the pool too which was a huge plus for us. The public areas of the complex were kept clean & tidy. The bar and buffet restaurant however were a big let down. The selection and quality of the food wasn't good, I felt sorry for anyone who had prepaid meals for the duration of their stay so wouldn't recommend Half Board or All Incl. options. The bar was very basic along with the selection of wines available there. Weekend nights in the bar were busy with Hen & Stag parties so between their 'colourful' conversation and usual hen/stag outfits, they weren't appropriate company for the families and children there also.
The old town is about 15 minutes walk away (downhill) so we spent most nights in there. Taxis were readily available although not so much during July and August when they are in short supply. Over all, this is a beautiful well laid out complex with friendly staff, lovely accommodation and a good location not too far from the old town. I would definitely consider returning but we will be staying away from the restaurant and bar next time.

We picked Eden because it is closer to the old town than the new, and not in the middle of everything. We went self-catering. We did have breakfast and dinner a few times. It was nice enough. It did the job. The 2 bed villa we had was fab. It was cleaned every day except Thursdays and Sundays. We got clean towels every day. We got there earlier than check-in around 1pm and were delighted to get our apartment straight away. We did request a cot and high chair when booking but we didn't get the cot until 5 minutes before our little ladies bed time after having to request it a few more times. Our little lady managed to lock us out of the safe so we asked if someone could come and unlock it for us as we had our passports, money in there. It too 3 requests and a full 24 hrs before someone eventually came to unlock it. The shuttle bus travels into town 4 times in the day. It does only take 8, but the driver will do the run until everyone is picked up and dropped off. It does only take a 20 minute walk into town but there is a hill. Taxis are only €4/5.There is a play park for kids, a kids club, 2 pool areas with adjoining kids pools and a 3rd adults only pool. A minmarket (pricey). Alisuper is 5 mins away, Lidl /aldi 20 mins. Staff were great all round. The restaurant staff really work for their money. The bus drivers the same and they are always courteous and with a friendly smile. Reception need to address requests a bit faster. Over all I would go back, I enjoyed our stay.

After issues on day 1 obtaining a cot everything else was great. Had a 2 bedroom villa which was very spacious with fully fitted kitchen. Rest of villa felt a bit empty but still was excellent value for what we paid

The pools and gardens were immaculate. We weren't all inclusive but food at pool bar wasn't overly expensive. Didn't use the restaurant but both bar areas were pleasant but quite busy

We stayed in a 3 bed villa which was very comfortable. The facilities were very modern and the pools were well-kept. There was an issue with sun-loungers being all taken by 7am each morning (no people, just towels!). Unfortunately the food was very poor. We had breakfast and dinner once and were very disappointed with the selection and quality of the food. There was no evening entertainment in the resort apart from a dismal karoke 2 a week. Also due to a number of public holidays during our stay the villa wasn't cleaned every day which meant there was quite a lot of ants, especially in the kitchen. The hotel is about a 20 min walk to the old town but luckily the taxi's were cheap (€4). There was no evidence of any security in the resort and at night it can be very dark and quiet and you may not feel very safe walking around on your own. The kids club is also very expensive if you pay by the day but substantially better value if you pay by the week.

Very disappointing!!!! Staff were useless, no help at all and downright rude to be fair. Our apartment was only cleaned once in the week we were there and we also only received clean towels once in that week. We had to go to the reception to ask for towels and we were given 2 beach towels for ourselves and our 1 and a half year old. The pool was lovely, although you had to get up at 6am if you wanted to get a lounger or an umbrella for the day, they definitely had a shortage of loungers for the amount of guests. Apartments were lovely, just a shame they weren't cleaned. The wifi was diabolical!!!! 3 Euros for an hour which we bought every night. It worked for the first few nights (slowly) then after that wouldn't even connect which was very frustrating. Overall this is a real shame, this resort could be excellent as it is modern and apartments are really nice but it is a bit of a trek into the old town and we were so disappointed with the staff that it has put us off going back.

As other people have said no umbrellas at pool. Old town was 25 mins walk or 4 euro by taxi. Resort was very quite and peaceful at night. Would recommend this property.

First impressions very pretty well set out site. Disappointed that our rooms wouldn't be ready till 4.00pm when we arrived on site at 11.00am. People arriving after us were allocated their rooms before us. One member of staff on reception and kept waiting too long to be spoken to. This one member of staff had to do everything. Supermarket on site didn't have any stock, the shelves were empty. Maid service was supposed to be daily apart from Sunday, but bins were left for a long time and the cleaning wasn't up to much. The usual thing with sun beds, you could never get one. Towels were left on beds for hours at a time with no one using them. There was a notice but staff didn't do anything about it.
The plus side was the site was quiet, with well equipped apartments, nice gardens and no rowdy ness. It's about a 20 minute walk into the old town and a 10 minute walk to the nearest supermarket, unfortunately it's an uphill walk back to the resort.

The appartments are of an excellent standard. No complaints about the rooms. They kitchen is spacious with built in appliances even a dishwasher. We stocked our fridge up with drinks to take the the pool - which wasnt a problem as our apartment overlooked the pool.
The Adult pool was freezing the whole time we were there and there wasnt a bar nearby - there was only 1 outside bar on the whole of the complex - which was a treck and your drink would be warm by the time you returned with it.

We were only B&B and the breakfast was excellent. However those on All Inclusive complained about the lack of facilities available - eg only certain drinks at certain times ( a lady couldnt get a spirit before 2pm - but she could have wine??) the bar ran out of lemonade and ice one day. There were also many grumbles around the pool about the food choice for those on all inclusive. It seemed to be mainly bread, chips and pasta.

There was no entertainment on in the complex whilst we were there.
