Lovely people, great breakfast.

It’s in a great location. I got in just as they were closing the front desk and restaurant. I ordered the cod and it was excellent along with extremely friendly waitstaff.
The problem I encountered was an extremely bad odor from the bathroom. The door was shut when I entered the room and I believe that may have been to try and contain the smell. I ended up getting a very bad headache from it and had a very hard time getting to sleep with the stink. I managed to get about 3 hours of sleep and I left for some fresh air.
I did reach out via the message app almost 21 hours ago but I have not heard back. I was hoping to avoid writing any negative review. But the fact remains, something needs to be fixed with that bathroom/plumbing.

Property was fabulous especially considering the Westfjord’s remoteness. Made an easy day trip to western most point in Iceland to find puffins galore, then to Dynjandi Waterfall (second favorite Icelandic waterfall), using the property as our base. Breakfast & dinner was outstanding. Bravo!
Peter
Not many options in this part of Iceland, but the Hotel Flokalundur was a pleasant surprise with clean, comfortable rooms and a welcoming restaurant.
Qinghua
Small room but OK, with good view!

Very nice restaurant where buffet breakfast was also served, room was perfect and there’s self serve fuel across the parking lot. Sorry their last day for the season in Sept. 30…

tranquil setting, great food in restaurant, nice bathroom

After our original accommodation cancelled on us at the last minute, we ended up booking here. The room was large and comfortable, dinner at the restaurant was great, and we were especially pleased to find the free car wash station out front as our vehicle was very dirty from driving dirt roads. The included breakfast was more typically American than other places we’ve stayed: it had bacon, eggs, beans, cornflakes, and Cheerios in addition to the typically European style buffet.

Roomy and modern
Extremely quiet stay - no door slamming or voices from other rooms. Very spacious room and modern bathroom with towel warmer. Bed was comfy as well. Breakfast offers a wide variety of food. Dinner was not a great experience - both the fish and lamb were overcooked and bland though. But great hotel!

Amazing location!
Anthony
Stunning and remote location. Fjord view room has exceptional outlook. Superior rooms are large and feel new. Adequate breakfast and dinner (no alternatives). Natural geothermal pool under 10 minutes walk away and dressing gowns provided. Pool is less busy late evening. Petrol available.
Eduardo
Comfortable. Good coffee great breakfast.
Amanda
This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are new, clean and have everything you could want. The breakfast is great and includes hot food options. Dinner was also good and prices are inline with normal prices in Iceland. The location is perfect for hiking and getting to local sights. Highly recommend this hotel.
Christopher
This place is right along the coastal road, clean and quiet with helpful staff. We didn't try the restaurant beyond the good breakfast.
Kirk
Large hotel room. Walkable to nearby hot spring.

This was a lovely oasis of comfort after a long, difficult drive. The restaurant is excellent. The geo thermal pool is so close and easy to access. And it is very convenient for the ferry. A wonderful place to stay.

Wonderful! We stayed 2 nights while we explored the area. The service and accommodations were exceptional. We had a family room and even with the sofa bed pulled out it was very spacious. Breakfast and dinner were both very good.
Stephanie
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent full breakfast complete with eggs and bacon
Paula
Nice hotel on the water. The restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast. Would stay again.
Shane
The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the baked trout.
Susan
Cosmin and Roxy were great. We had superior accommodations and they were very comfortable. Food selection limited but really great tasting. Several common areas that we could play card games. A nice respite during a cold snowy day. Definitely would recommend!
Cynthia
The staff was very helpful. After a long day getting there from the airport, they directed us to the nearest hot spring and provided us with an extra towel and robe. Their restaurant offered a good variety and the food was excellent. Our room was as described and the beds comfy! I highly recommend this property should you venture to the West Fjords for lodging or a meal.
Kanishk
Such a beautiful location and staff was super nice.
David
This is really the only hotel option in the area. It is reasonable for what it is, a room at the end of a quiet fjord. They aren’t large rooms but you really shouldn’t be spending much time there.
The hotel offered bathrobes and extra towels for the nearby hot spring which was a great plus. Thumbs up there.
The restaurant has a bit of a captive audience. The food was good, though the dinner portions not large. We both left wanting more which was unfortunate. Breakfast had a lot of options for various tastes.
All staff we dealt with were friendly and seemed to genuinely want to help.
We wish the rooms had space for a small fridge for people who like to do a bit of self catering.

We had a great stay. Hot pot was amazing and dinner was good. Beach across the street is great to watch northern lights if you’re lucky enough.
Carey
Hotel was very convenient for our short stay in Westfjords and Dynjandi falls. The dining room had amazing views of the fjord. Dinner was very good, as was the complimentary breakfast. Service was fine. Bed was comfortable.
Susan

Elissa
Beautiful setting. Wonderful staff. Dining room very nice.
Ron
Beautiful ocean view with a natural hot tub right by the ocean jus a minute drive from the hotel, they give you robes so you don't freeze. It was beautiful sitting in hot water by the ocean.
Heidar
Very good breakfast good location we enjoyed our stay.
Laura
We enjoyed the rooms and the location to various sites, including puffins
Sharun
Very friendly and funny staff. Room was very big, loved the interior. Bathroom good size too with a heating rack to dry clothes.
Richard
Great stay at a great property.
Daryl
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful getting everything we needed for our stay. The food at the restaurant was great and convenient! The natural hot bath nearby was within walking distance to the hotel. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was nice and updated. We stayed in a family room/suite that had a bed and a pull-out bed/couch.
Highly recommend, would stay here again for the west fjords.

Checkout time is WRONG
The checkout time in my hotels.com booking clearly states a checkout time of 12pm. The staff unlocked my door and came into my room just after 11am WHILE I WAS FULLY NAKED and asked me to leave, claiming the checkout time was 11am. The hotel needs to sort out their checkout time!
SUSAN
Highly Recommended!
Because of a road closure we needed to check in 30 minutes late. A quick phone call resulted in their staying open for us. Great service, lovely room and a super breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend Hotel Flokanlundur.
David
Very convenient locations if visiting the west fjords for a day and leaving the area the next morning. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Clean up to date room. On site restaurant was good and about the only option in the area.
don
The staff are friendly. The room is very good, actually very surprised how nice it was. Breakfast is simple but sufficient. Overall, we were happy that we stayed there. It's also close to the ferry dock.
