The Canyon village was closed but next door is Gondwana lodge , great place , on our arrival we discovered we had a flat tire, the maintenance manager kindly fixed it for us, no charge , repair lasted for our two week trip.The lodge is like bedrock re Flinkstones , great setting among huge rocks , highly recommend.

Excellent lodge / chalet in the wild areas near the Fish River Canyon. The facility is in great shape with an excellent and attentive staff. There are activities that can be easily organized or just hang around the pool. We hiked and enjoyed the views as well as the explanations of local plants & animals from the staff guides.

We loved Canon Village! A beautiful chalet in a stunning settings. The room was very comfortable and between us we finished many books lying on our bed, sitting on our veranda and by the gorgeous poolside - when we could fit them in among the beautiful walks (sensational at sunset and plenty of mongoose and game to see) that you can do around the place as well as of course, the short drive to Fish River Canyon. A comfortable, relaxing stay - thank you!

This place is magical. Like Lord of The Rings. Lovely cottages, pool terrace, stunning mood lighting at night, beautiful oryx everywhere, and a herd of excited zebras passing through the village in the middle of the night. And of course the most lovely staff and people. Recommended.

Perfect hotel near Fish River Canyon park entrance
The hotel is made up of several chalets around the main building which houses the restaurant, bar and extensive souvenir shop. The arid landscape is quite spectacular with excellent views of the sunsets from a nearby koppie. The accommodations were very good on all counts. The buffet food and service for dinners and breakfasts was excellent. The hotel staff were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. This is the closest hotel to Hobas which is the entrance gate to the Fish River Canyon National Park.

I was disappointed We were not given the room pictured. Staff were on the whole very surly, with the exception of one waiter who served at our table and was very apologetic for the lack of service up until then.

perfect desert lodge
This accomodation is well situated in the middle of the desert of southern Namibia close to the Fish River Canyon. The setting is equisite with nice hiking trails set out from the lodge. The drive to the lodge already shows a beautifully varied scenery the setting at the lodge is unique. Staff is very helpful although sometimes a bit disorganized. The rooms are in specious separate huts which use the local design.

Welcoming from beginning, we loved everything. The only point I was disappointed with, was when I saw the cost added to the bill for the drinks served on the hill, when we were invited to go walk and see the sunset. It was not the cost, I just felt it's not thing to do. Just include it in the price of the room.

In the middle of nowhere, this is a truly amazing place to stay, close enough to see the Fish River Canyon and mostly to enjoy just being very far away from the world. Steffie and her staff are simply fabulous, nothing is too much trouble. We really appreciated the fresh vegetables sourced from their own farm as well. A unique place to stay.

Great Location
Really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge had a feeling of the old wild west about it with the horse and cart taking our luggage to our room. The scenery was fantastic and we enjoyed our free guided tour to a nearby hill to watch the sun go down with a welcome sundowner. Room was very comfortable and the food fine. Within easy driving distance of the canyon and we would recommend a couple of nights here to explore this picturesque area.

Nette Anlage in Alleinlage, gut 20 Minuten vom Canyon entfernt. Straßenverhältnisse von Keetmanshoop sind allerdings anspruchsvoll, insbesondere bei Regen (Achtung: Wasserquerungen!). Essen war gut und reichlich.
Zimmer war etwas ältlich, aber völlig ok. Guter Service. Empfehlenswerte zweistündige Abendwanderung auf den Felsen hinter der Anlage.

Wunderschöner Ausgangspunkt um den Canyon zu besichtigen. Am Pool werden Getränke serviert. Am Abend gibts einen Spaziergang zum nöchsten Hügel um den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Am großzügigen Gelände mit Wasserloch kommen hin und wieder auch Tiere zu Besuch. Jedenfalls zu empfehlen. Frühstück und Abendessen (Büfett) waren sehr gut.

Leider können wir Canyon Village nicht bewerten, da wir aufgrund mangelnder Reisender wegen Covid kurzfristig umgebucht wurden ins Canyon Roadhouse. Wir haben uns die Anlage Canyon Village ebenso angeschaut, Lage ist traumhaft vor den Bergen. Im Roadhouse war es auch ok, Zimmer war in Ordnung, nicht sonderlich groß. Frühstück im Roadhouse sehr stylisch inmitten der alten Fahrzeuge. Es gab kein Buffet, man konnte sich sein Frühstück jedoch bestellen.

Wir wurden auf das Roadhouse umgebucht, da die anderen Gondwana-Hotels am Fish River Canyon geschlossen waren. Das Roadhouse ist einmalig, perfekter Service, gutes Essen, gute Lage zu den Aussichtspunkten am Canyon. Die Deko des Roadhouses ist einmalig, der Spaziergang über das Gelände lohnt sich.

We hebben onze tweede nacht hier geannuleerd. Gewoon te heet en hotel er helemaal niet aan aangepast. Kamers liggen mijlenver van hoofdgebouw, abominabel slechte WiFi, onvriendelijk/ongeïnteresseerd personeel, airco overal onvoldoende. Ligging wel top, vlakbij belangrijkste look-out voor Fish River Canyon.

Very beautiful setting in the desert. Good buffet outdoors. One house has two guest units, some with a connecting door which might be a bonus or a problem. Only receptionist Paulina gave us a very frosty check-in, not welcoming at all, maybe she was a policewoman or tax officer previously. Any of the waitresses would do a much better job.

Eine Top Unterkunft. Was bei mir für den Punktabzug gesorgt hat war das selbstverständliche Dinner ohne dass wir über den Preis informiert wurden.

Das Canyon Village ist schön angelegt und fügt sich hervorragend in die Landschaft. Die Häuschen beherbergen jeweils zwei liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer mit kleiner Terrasse. Es gibt ein tolles Frühstück und Abendessen. Das Personal ist ausnahmslos super-nett und hilfsbereit. Es werden Ausflüge angeboten. Der sundowner walk ist empfehlenswert. Wer jedoch Ruhe sucht, sollte darauf achten, dass nicht gerade eine größere Gruppe daran teilnimmt. Ggf. einfach allein gehen und / oder lieber den Sonnenaufgang ansehen. ;-) Insgesamt gibt es nur deswegen Punktabzug, weil die Lodge recht groß ist. Wir hatten das Pech, dass zwei große Reisegruppen dort waren. Entsprechend hatten wir nicht so viel Ruhe wie gewünscht. Dennoch: absolute Empfehlung. Der Canyon ist natürlich sehr sehenswert und von der Lodge aus gut erreichbar.

Le site est vraiment très beau super dépaysement les chalets sont très biens salle de bain sommaire mais on oublie tant le reste est bien et beau- le fiber est bien aussi le personnel est vraiment gentil prêt à vous aider-petite boutique ds lhirel sympa je recommande

Excellent endroit et excellent service.
Nous avions réservés cette endroit pour visiter le Fisher River Canyon, malheureusement la soirée et nuit précédente une pluie très abondante frappa la région et le canyon à dû fermé; donc pas très chanceux.

Mooie lodge met fijn zwembad, mooie kamers en een prachtig hoofdgebouw. Het landschap is geweldig!

wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal im Canyon Village - wunderschöne Lage und tolle Unterkunft mit Traum-Pool in der Wüste. Leider negativ - eine deutsche Reisegruppe störte sehr bei der Erholung am Pool und abends sehr laute Nachbarn am Bungalow.

Show on Google MapsThe hotel lodge is situated directly on the road to Fish River Canyon, 14 km from the gate to the viewing points. The geology, flora, fauna and history of the area are explained on display boards at the Canyon Information Centre.
This charming hotel comprises a total of 24 rooms and is interestingly decorated with old car parts found in the region. Guests are welcomed in the lobby and they can enjoy a drink at the Wheels bar, and dine in the restaurant.
