The Canyon Lodge is in a great location right inside the park. We split our stay 2 nights at the Old Faithful Inn and 2 nights at the Canyon lodge. It was a good way to explore multiple areas of the park in depth. The Canyon Lodge rooms were nice with comfortable beds. The nearby eatery was convenient and had lots of choices. I highly recommend staying there - it can’t be beat if you want to explore the areas nearby.

Just know that the park hotel is very poorly staffed with brand new employees who know as little as you do about the park and lodge.

We didn't get to check into our room until 6 bc linens had not been delivered on time per management. They had no idea that the first floor of our lodge was in the basement without an elevator And my mother couldn't use stairs. Took multiple conversations to get a room in a building with an elevator

Our room was actually very clean and cute but dated.
We went to the front desk for coffee and new towels as no one ever serviced our room and the front desk had neither. A young lady finally showed up at 8 pm with linens only bc she couldn't find/didn't have coffee.

One bit of confusion/ no microwaves. Not even a communal one which would have been very helpful.

Does have an ice machine.

The pictures that are posted for the cabins are a bit embellished, when we pulled up at the cabin, it was a run down 4 plex, weeds everywhere , a very sad porch, no furniture on the front porch. The back porch was just dirt. no furniture, did have a with a pretty Forrest view, the sliding back door was hard to use, and very beat up.

I should have paid better attention to the details of the cabin, no refrigerator or microwave, no TV. If you're looking for a very rustic experience this is the place. It was clean and the furniture was cute, but it reminded me of staying at an old Grandma's cabin with very worn out bedding and flat pillows.
Best thing of this day was the shower had amazing water pressure. I should have brought my camping gear and camping chairs.

Housekeeping left a lot to be desired. They made the beds and refilled coffee pods, but they didn’t take the dirty mugs/cups and used wash cloths or replace them. There was also a film of pink grime at the corner of the bathtub.

The room could be cleaner. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay inside the east side of the park. Abundance parkings, easy 2 miles hike to Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, easy access to casual eateries (canteen style) and cafes, also easy drive to major attractions. Bring along ear plugs (thin wall) and eyes cover (long day light).

Great stay! Beautiful views and fun things to do on the property; the kids loved it too. The tiny home had everything we needed, including a full kitchen! The beds were comfortable, there were privacy shades, and AC. Close to West Yellowstone (about 30 min to entrance). Owners were very accommodating and friendly. Cute place and would definitely stay again!

It is an okay place to stay in Yellowstone. Nice to be in the park but expensive for what we got. No tv, very little internet, and very rustic and old facilities. We did stay in one of the cabins. No tv and internet was spotty. For a couple of nights it was okay and we did enjoy being in the park and not having to drive in everyday. They do have restaurants and souvenirs there but they close pretty early.

The room and bathroom are clean and well maintained. It is in a good location. Walking distance to restaurants and stores. The room has small fridge but no microwave. The staff is friendly. They have self laundry facilities. The minor issue is house keeping services. They are not consistent. One day, they didn’t collect the dirty towels. The other day, they didn’t replace our mugs and refill the coffee and teas. But overall is good. We will still stay here if we come again.

The location was good; Close to Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and Hayden Valley. Other locations were easily accessible.

The lodge had NO internet. This made it very inconvenient for our 4 day stay.

Check in process took a very long time even though we were pre-registered.

Cleaning service only mad bed. The sink, shower, floor and coffee mugs were not cleaned.

Dining options were limited in Canyon Village. Mediocre foods in both Canyon Eatery and Canyon Fountain and Grill.

The room was extremely small. The sink was in the room and running water was not ideal when your spouse was sleeping.

No TV, No fridge. No Internet! They tell you internet password but the service was down the entire time.

I will NOT stay here.

The Canyon Lodge was well maintained and our room was clean upon arrival. Our room was quite dark. We had to take the lamp shade off for better light, still not great. When interacting with the staff, they were all very helpful! At check in I was asked if I wanted our room cleaned each day. For $530 a night, \"yes I do.\" \"Cleaning\" involved pulling up the covers and emptying the trash. We didn't get a re-stock of coffee packets, clean coffee mugs or new glasses, though ours were clearly used. I learnd that if I put our towels in the tub, some towels were restocked. We were cold at night and asked for two more blankets, one blanket was delivered because it was all that they had. A lodge of this size should certainly have enough blankets for all of the rooms.
Checking in and out was easy and there in ample parking.

We are not happy with the stay. First, we requested a crib when we booked the room 2 months before, and we were promised to have one. When we checked in, the front desk said the crib should be in your room. It was not. So we called the front desk. One hour later, no one came to our room. So I called again. It was almost 11pm and my baby was sleeping on a queen size bed, having a risk of falling off. This time the front desk told me they don’t have a crib for me, and they will refund me the room. Now it’s 4 days past my stay, and there’s no refund being made. Second, we were assigned to a building, 3rd floor, without an elevator. We have a baby and a big luggage. Definitely not happy with the experience

Loved the lodge we stayed in. It was a newer lodge, Rhyolite I think. It was walkable to the village. Yes, there is no tv or air conditioning but it was great playing cards and reading a book to pass some evening time. We were there in late May so still cooler nights in the lower 40's so not having air conditioning wasn't an issue. They gave windows that crank open to let the night air in which we did do one night. They also provide a table top fan to move the air around. Good in the village was ok. Cafeteria style with large portions. Hubby and I split most am& pm meals for budget purposes and just because it was more than enough for 2 people.

-1 hr wait line just to check in!
-approx 85 degrees upon arrival in the room. Cooler setting on heater would not work. Staff advised it would take “30 minutes to reset to cool.” After 2 hrs of windows and “room door” open no such cooler setting worked. Staff then advised no AC however there was AC in hallways. Very lukewarm warm water for morning shower turned cool to cold within minutes of first shower. Mine totally cold shower. For $400 for one night this may have been the worst stay I’ve ever had anywhere!

Extremely poor internet service. The food was worst than school cafeteria food. If anyone can mess up a cup of coffee it was them. Staff not helpful, room service is poor, they made one bed and left all the dirty towels and didn’t replace towels. Definitely would not recommend this place especially for the price. It was Motel 6 equivalent if not worse.

The location was excellent! It was central and we had a wonderful time! The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is only a couple of minutes away.
However, the hotel felt more like a $200 hotel (versus the $500 nightly fee plus taxes). You were paying for location.

The good:
- The building and the rooms were relatively new and attractive.
-They had a neat coffee bar in the room with a teapot that kept temperature & variety of teas & coffee.
-They had ceramic mugs
-They had nice drinking glasses made out of wine bottles
-the sink area was nice and had large counter space and was in the main room (tub and toilet in a separate room).

The bad:
- The walls were thin. You could hear conversations in the next room. You could also hear people walking overhead.
-they had no washcloths for two of the days. They said they did not receive their laundry from the laundry service.
-The room was generally clean, but it needed a thorough cleaning. The edges of the carpet were very dusty and the hotel has only been open two weeks this year. It was clear that they didn’t spring clean while closed for the winter.
-internet was very weak.
-No TV (not needed a lot, but like to get news in the morning and we had a bad weather day).
- The Lodge with food was a separate building. There did not appear to be activities or entertainment. The Old Faithful Inn had a lot more going on.
- the food at the lodge felt like good cafeteria food.
-pack a cooler. Bread is $8.50 per loaf.

We enjoyed our 4 nights stay. Staff were friendly and we got our room cleaned everyday which is a luxury since many hotels don't provide daily house keeping anymore.
Room is very spacious, beds are comfortable enough. Not great but we have had worse.
Love the location since it's in the middle of the park. However, there isn't much to see within walking distance.
There are a few dining options which we found convenient. Food options are ok, nothing fancy but get the job done. The diner was our favorite place. Food was great and servers were very friendly.
If we are to do it all over again, we will stay here again but not for 4 nights. We will stay at either Yellowstone River or Old Faithful for a couple of nights to reduce the amount of driving.

Our family stayed at three different hotels within Yellowstone NP in May 2026. Of the three, Canyon Lodge was the nicest in terms of room quality and food options. The rooms were new and clean. We were able to walk to their dining facilities which offered great, casual options at a decent price. It was a great place to stay while exploring the Hayden Valley, Yellowstone Lake and The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone areas. It also has good access to the Lamar Valley when the connecting road is open (late May). It is far from the Old Faithful area, but we were much happier leaving the congestion of that area behind to go to Canyon Lodge.

The building we were in, Cascade Lodge, was older but OK. Looks like they are all being renovated. The wifi was hard to connect and very slow. The food at the eatery was mediocre. The place was expensive and had no free idea like breakfast,etc. no TV in the room either. The location, however, was great and convenient to many places within Yellowstone.

I think this property is in a great location. It was very clean and everyone was really nice. However, I can’t believe the high price for a basic hotel room, with little AC (we couldn’t get our room cooled off till later in the night with the windows open), extremely slow wifi, and watered down shampoo. The in room coffee situation was also kinda gross. I just expected more for $700 a night.

Once inside the rooms were nice, however, for the price of the room it was disheartened. Plus the Internet does not work at all. They give you a password, but it did not work for us. Be prepared for having virtually no WiFi and no internet service. Good luck with Verizon, don’t bother with ATT or T-Mobile. No TVs so when you get back from a long, wonderful day of exploring amazing Yellowstone hope you’re tired enough to go to sleep by 9:30. I can’t get passed no connection to the world and don’t accept that I can’t decide for myself whether or not I can watch TV or talk to my loved ones. Other than that the room was clean, location was good and the cafe there was edible, better than Snow Lodge which was awful. If you have to stay in the park this is probably the best option but you’re paying for a 4-5 star hotel when it’s only a 2-3.

Our room was not cleaned up in arrival (dirty cup with coffee in it, crumbs everywhere, dirty sheets). The room was \"cleaned\" while we went to dinner. There were still crumbs and spilled coffee on the floor, body was empty, you could see a small area of the sink where they wiped (the rest clearly was not), still melted water in our carafe and ice bucket. The restaurant area was also dirty (garbage all over the floors, dirty tables and both days there were limited soda options on the fountain machine since the syrup was empty). I travel a lot. This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at.

-- internet is virtually non-existent, even if you are able to finally get online
-- no TV
-- no thermostat to control room temperature
-- reading lights built into bed headboard was inadequate to read a real book. Overhead light was insufficient for reading. Bring your iPad.
-- meals are taken in a dining hall, just like back in college. Food was decent and reasonably priced, but servings were small.
-- shower was good. Plenty of hot water.

If were were doing it again, we would skip staying in Canyon and stay in West Yellowstone where good lodging (like Kelly Inn) is half the price, and the town has lots of good restaurants.

Sorry. Canyon Inn was a big disappointment.

Parking - why would you build a hotel but not enough parking for the customers?? We had to walk in the dark from the next building over. The room was small and cramped, the toiletry bottles were all clogged from disuse (had just reopened for summer season), there was only a small noisy fan for cooling off the stuffy room. The (paid) dining option was in a different building! The only nice things I have to say are the place was clean, the staff were very helpful & friendly, and the bed was average/okay comfort.

While the lodge is beautiful and the surrounding park exquisite, the room fell a bit short of our expectations for the price. There was no tv! Afyer a long day of exploring, itd be nice to watch some sports or news. At least tell us in the description- I cant think of a hotel weve ever stayed at with no tv.
Also the carpeted room was kind of old and did not get vacuumed well enough. Crumbs and gravel on it😬

Great location, badly run. Had to request a working coffee brewer 3 times - they kept bringing us broken old used ones. Don't expect to dine anywhere near here - very limited buffet. Poorly trained staff at breakfast buffet.
