We had an issue with our rental car on the way from the airport to the property. The valet guts were so helpful and accommodating to us! As our first impression of the property, they could not have done better. All the staff were friendly. We did have a view of the ocean and the pool from our room.

Booked an ocean view and loooved sitting on our balcony watching the whales every day. Could live there! The staff was great and the leaving ceremony was cute and emotional. If you’re going for a pool, this probably isn’t your hotel. It’s one small pool (we never used) Good walking distance to the other hotels and 5 min beach path walk down to whalers village where you can always shop and grab food. It’s a small resort but… not always a bad thing, I realized.

It is a bit dated with only one eating establishment and could not even get a seat at the bar. Very dark at night on the property for a single traveler along with the outside corridors not providing much safety. I had to fight with my deadbolt daily to lock and there were no additional locks for safety just the one broken lock. People were absolutely fantastic especially the bell desk/valets. They always took time to chat with us and give suggestions. There was also a great guy at the beach shack that helped us with our casablanca? Young and friendly!!!!

It is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Maui. And I have been to Maui 4 times now. The layout of the hotel is phenomenal. It has more of a relaxing atmosphere. The staff from the front desk, the concierge (Sherry), house keeping staff. All so kind and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. I will be coming back. 😊

The resort was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Even from our garden view, we still had a slight view of the ocean, which to me was an amazing vantage point. Waking up and seeing the beautiful flowers all over the ground was absolutely gorgeous and then walking out to the beach phenomenal. The ending ceremony was unique, special, informative, and very peaceful. We definitely will be back.

We had an ocean view room and it was very nice. We loved sitting on the balcony in the am and in the pm. The room was clean, and very comfortable. The onsite restaurant, Maui Brewing, was very beautiful on the beach and had good food. Would highly recommend a reservation tho, or you won’t be eating there in the evening. We were there during a “public safety power shutoff”. There were high winds prompting the Hawaii electric company to shut off power to the whole west side of Maui. No stores/restaurants were open. The Outrigger provided a few light items the next am for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and grilled burgers for dinner, at no cost. We appreciated the thoughtfulness because the power was off for 24 hours. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because when we booked this vacation package, it specifically said taxes and fees included. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were charged another $477.72 for resort fees. It seems all fees were not included. I would prefer paying ALL fees when it states “taxes and fees included”. Very nice place to stay, close to many things.

Let me start by saying, the staff is wonderful. There are no elevators, which I heard many people complain about. It took 45 or more minutes to check in and there wasn’t a line. When you’ve been on a plane for many hours, then a taxi for an hour and you finely reach your destination but it takes a long time to check it’s rough. The room had 2 very small drawers, and again I was traveling with my family so we had to live out of our bag for the week, because there are no luggage racks. The sand from the beach is really fine and gets all over the room, and the room doesn’t have any hooks for wet swim suits.

We paid for an upgraded ocean front room unfortunately it was on the first floor so it wasn’t great for whale watching and they couldn’t put us higher up because the rooms were filled so if you book an oceanfront room and you wanna wear a watch be sure to put that on your reservation to put you on an upper floor.

Our check in was good, they offered an upgrade on our room for $500 larger space so we took it. Arrived in the room and the room had a view of a large tree( no ocean view which we booked originally). This newly renovated room had no bathroom fan and a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door, letting in light from the hall at night. There was a large tree directly outside the room with a spotlight that at night shined at the room. The pillows on this bed seemed as though they bought them at the dollar store (horrible, just a bunch of feathers in a bag). Two days into our stay the island lost power due to high winds(I do not blame the resort for this),we were without power for a full 24hrs. I did expect the resort to make good on the lost day without electricity which they didn’t. Overall I would not recommend this resort to anyone. The ocean views are obscured by a courtyard full of trees. The resort lacks a functioning restaurant.

Room was wonderful. We had a huge king bed with ocean view on the 6th floor. Best view of any place we’ve stayed! All staff were incredibly nice and helpful! This hotel is perfectly located about a 5 min walk from Whaler’s Village with shops and restaurants. Also, the food window by the entrance to the lobby at hotel has delicious food! The açaí bowl is delicious!!! And Maui Brewery on site is a great restaurant. We highly recommend Outrigger.

Room was clean and staff were all great. It was, however, a bit noisy—the leaf blowers were not appreciated, nor was the giant screen showing movie trailers on Wednesday evening. The food at the Maui Brewing Co. was underwhelming and overpriced. Also, unfortunately, my initial itinerary did not outline the line item of $45 Daily resort charge, which was an unwelcome surprise and added a few more hundred dollars on our tab. Otherwise, the place itself is nice and in a great location.

Room was very clean and kept clean. Marivic was our housekeeper, was so nice and ALWAYS knew our names. Couldn’t ask for better service. Did NOT like the resort fees. They were to pay for dumb basket weaving and lei making that we did not attend. Those things should be charged only if you attend them. And to pay to park there every day is also hidden fee that was over the top. The resort is beautiful and the ocean view was spectacular!

Maid staff exceptional. I know they have a hard job keeping up with all of their cleaning tasks in the multitude of rooms that they have to take care of. But, they always did so with a smile, and never a complaint.

Supplies of hand bar soap at sink could be more plentiful. Would be helpful to have make-up remover wipes, as other resorts and motels supply.
Nice to have soap and conditioner already available in the shower, but choose a different scent or product, as my husband and I both agreed it didn’t smell very good, so we just chose to use the travel size we brought from home.

The pool needs serious updating and better cleaning. Would be nice if it was heated, like the Whaler provides to their guests, along with a hot tub, at the very least.

We did see whales this time we were at Maui, but from far away on the excursion the guest concierge services had us sign up for. It was really more of a snorkeling adventure, then a whale watch. For health reasons, I couldn’t do snorkeling anyways. We also had to drive quite a ways away to take the one she recommended, and it was far more expensive and time consuming then the original one we wanted to board right near your motel. Would have much rather done that more accessible and convenient one, which could have given us more time enjoying the beach on the day that was sunnier then the other days of our stay there.

Bed and mattress not as comfortable as a a yr. ago, and way too big! Expected a normal King!

Every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. Room was nice, nice balcony, and cleaned well each service. Grounds are very nice and access to the beach is easy with a great beach attached. I loved that there were lounge chairs spread across the property so we could sit and relax by the pool or on the lawn. Easy walk to whalers village which has shops and restaurants.
Beach chairs/unbrellas are rented at the beach and are pretty pricey. They are also limited and run out early.
Maui Brewing (on property restaurant) is pretty pricey. The breakfasts were good but dinners not so much. Drinks are weak and expensive.
We will definitely come back here on our next trip. We really enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the property, and sitting outside watching the whales can’t be beat.

The room was very clean the staff was willing right very accommodating and knowledgeable. Laundry was excellent! Everyday had fresh towels and we did not expect that. We were never given a free breakfast but we purchased banana bread and aci bowl at the hotel and they were good. Ohana feeling everywhere and all the staff smiled and made you feel like family. Better than family! So much cultural heritage and genuine sharing of their ways. It's beautiful

The property is older but Outrigger has done a good job keeping up with the maintenance and most surfaces had fresh paint applied. The view from our upgraded ocean front room was truly impressive. The property is located next to an outdoor mall, with numerous restaurants including MonkeyPod. The beach front walking path is easy to get it, and connects the property with adjacent hotels. The beach was clean, though busy during our stay in December. All considered, we enjoyed our stay and appreciate the staff for their kind service. Mahalo
