I've been staying at Relax Inn on and off for well over 8 years. All the rooms I've been in have been super clean, they've even upgraded the rooms over the years (new flooring/furnature etc). The staff has always been super friendly with me, often accommodating early check-ins or my request for preferred rooms. From Santa Monica to DTLA, the location is perfect for anything relevant in most of LA. For the superb location of the place alone, their prices are incredibly cheap.

I'll add, some of these reviews are ridiculous. If you want to spend $400+ a night you have plenty of options all along Wilshire, but you won't find a better deal than here. I'll certainly be returning.

The exterior of the motel is pretty run down and dirty, and kind of the same for the room. The AC buttons were worn off. The area behind the toilet was gross, hair and dried urine and trash. Leaky sink. There is potential here but unfortunately is lacking so much.

The missing front desk person!

The front door remains unlocked all night. My wife asked the young man if he (Nick I believe) if
Stayed at the desk all night long and he stated he did. In the morning when I got up to leave. Nobody was around. But there was a very strong smell of marijuana 🤔!
Perhaps he was out getting high?
I certainly would never go back there.

Best value for spacious room with a work desk!

Honestly when I saw the Google reviews I was a bit afraid but in the end I have no idea why they are so harsh. Maybe the place went through a renovation or something but everything was clean, lighting was well done, theres a huge work desk with a great office chair, room is very spacious, there are 4 mirrors in total. It's very quiet even at night because your window (in my case) is into a kind of backyard behind the house. The guy at the reception was very helpful, even got up and came to give me my mail at midnight!

I only wish the shower head was a bit better. This did the job but you can't take it in your hand. Also the floor lamp didn't work but that's a tiny issue for me.

What would be very very cool is if you could buy for like $10 - $20 access to a room with a washing machine.

The wifi was also very strong.

Overall I can't stress enough that this place is a great value. There's also a little courtyard where you can order your Ubers to.

Your standard cheap hotel

An okay place to stay if you’re looking to stay in LA for cheap. Located conveniently next to a mall and not too far from WeHo which is why we chose this hotel. Spacious rooms that are a little run down, but with good showers and a comfy bed. Check out is at 10:30 with a knock on the door to remind you, so be prepared.

Smell of smoke and weed in hallway and room. Room need to be repaired and repainted. Exhaust fan probably original and extremely loud pulls smoke from hallway to the room.
Won't stay again $160 for night is really expensive fir the condition of the room and building.

After reading other reviews I was hesitant to stay here. But I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even during my late check in. Rooms are old (I expected it), but quite spacious and clean! The energy in the place despite being on a busy street felt calm and safe. Parking on site was easy, there are even covered spaces (though quite narrow, so me having a small car helped). Parking there kept my car away from hot sun. I needed a place that was centrally located so I can get around to different places in the area, and this was exactly perfect for what I was looking for. Internet was good, so I could work comfortably. Fridge was a good size so I could fit everything I needed. Overall I am very satisfied with my stay.

Friendly staff and fits the budget

The service was excellent and the maids were thorough. My biggest complaint is that the water pressure was so low it took several flushes in the bathroom. Also the bathroom sink smelled like burnt hair when you ran the water. But you get what you pay for and it’s the least expensive place where I can isolate myself and be sad. Wi-Fi was fast. The sheets could have been bigger or fit the bed better. They would come up after I slept in them once. But the maid service was fast and efficient. I highly recommend it for what it is.

The people who work here were very nice and very helpful. The rooms are a very good size, more roomy than the normal rooms of more expensive high brand hotels. It had all I needed, including table, chairs, bed, full bathroom. The desk and cleaning staff did their jobs very well. The drawbacks are the neighborhood, noise traffic, and typical motel issues of it being run down and a little worn/dirty. But, if you're frugal, undaunted by seedy L.A., and want plenty of room, this will fit the bill.

Horrible and filthy. I asked the check in man at the desk to make sure I have a clean room. Specifically because I had to stay there to wait for a red eye. Got to the room smelt like mildew. Sheets towels filthy. Pillow case we're still Staind with make up and Lord knows what else. Fresh red and yellow and more. Peanuts chips and crumbs, EVERYWHERe along with the dust and felt itchy
Got som type of spider bite I believe right on my left pointer finger.on the buckle. Been squeezing out puss for a while day along with anti biotic cream. Never again. I would actually like a refund from Hotels.com for even having and supporting a motel or hotel of this kind At All!!! Supposed to be a trustworthy app. If I was a lawyer I'd sue for insect bite infection, false advertising, def not covid safe or clean. Had a 1o yr old and his mom he willing to clean the.rooms. very unhappy and distraught with the stay there. Stay Away!!

The most dirtiest and disgusting hotel ever.
Stains and read spots like blood all over the below cases and the sheets even the blankets for both beds in the room.
We had to sleep without blanket because they don't have spear to change it.
Worst night ever in the most fulthiest hotel.

Big problems at the Relax inn

Got up to go to the restroom and noticed water coming from the toilet seal as my foot got wet from the leaking. One of the 2 guys working on the problem said the seal on the toilet is broken and offered a half refund and told us to not use the toilet for the rest of are stay.

I didn’t like the service, they told me checkout was at 11 but they kicked us out at 10:20. It smelled like cigarettes everywhere even though it says non-smoking. The front desk wasn’t wearing a mask and kept coughing. No amenities available. The shower took so long to get it at least to warm. The shampoo and soap were so small and the shampoo damaged my hair. The vibe of the motel was weird and low-key creepy when it got dark. There was no lobby, just a window. I got to say that the bathroom was ok looking. There was wires sticking out on the wall in the bedroom.

Its a well kept and clean standard motel, with a very convenient location. I'm not sure why some of these reviews were expecting the Ritz-Carlton or something lavish. I've used this location many times and the staff is extremely cooperative with helpful with some requests I require for my odd work hours. I'll continue to be coming back.

Scary but managed to sleep

This property has a vibe that is more like a shelter or halfway house than a hotel. Generally felt unsafe checking in at night. Upon arrival multiple people were loitering in the parking lot. After I attempted to park one person yelled a bunch of profanities while threatening to assault me. When pulling into the only available parking space I ran over glass bottles that I had not seen. The glass broke everywhere but fortunately no flat tire. The front desk attendant working behind thick protective glass was friendly and the actual check-in and check-out was fast. That is a positive. There was music being played in a nearby room that played all night, but was able to sleep with earplugs. Sheets and pillowcases had visible stains. Did not realize one could find a motel with this kind of vibe in the heart of pricey West LA in 2020.

It’s alright but it sucks that they ask you for a extra 30 fee once you check in when you are short on cash they held my license until we check out I don’t trust someone while being held your id. Once we check out he went to check the room like if we had extra people when we had only two people. Their eyes were not trusting us when we arrived it was a bit uncomfortable.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever been in before! It is so dirty, and I believe the maid has not approached its rooms for ages. The bathroom filled with mold and the shower curtain has all types of stains. The carpet smalls very bad to the point that I was thinking how can I move from point A to point B without touching the carpet?!

Pleasant surprise!

The room itself surprised me how big it was, the actual tub was a whirlpool tub and the bed was comfy. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and parking lot had cars parked in it that looked abandoned and had not moved at all during my three night stay. Maybe give preference to your guests and not your dwellers.

Approx 20 mins into the (almighty) necessity (...) to scan my license on some obsolete scanner, I simply have no patience for stupidity beyond reason. The initial stay was ok and relatively pleasant. However a day after my family and I left we noticed bug bites on myself and on mainly my 3 year old son. These bites grew worse over the next day until we went to see a doctor and he confirmed it was indeed bed bugs. I reached out to the hotel and got the complete run around. I Had to pay 500 dollars for an exterminator to come over and go over my house. My son was besides himself because of the pain and discomfort the bites caused him. I told them all this and now I am getting no response. They don’t care. I want my money back. I am in the process of seeing what my legal options are

The staff are prompt and pleasant to engage. The space is clean but could do with a few minor repairs. The screen door to my balcony had a hole in it and wouldn’t close entirely. The carpet in the room needs a deep clean. The shower curtain should be cloth so that they’re washable. They need to change that out ENTIRELY. Excellent location!

The motel staff was very accommodating with my late check in. The room was pretty large but the screen of the window was knocked out and the window was wide open with no lock. The bed was comfortable and clean but the walls were paper thin. It’s a good place to rest your head for a night but probably not for an extended stay as it’s very loud when people around you are moving.

Budget option with free parking and working Wifi

This Motel is a great option if traveling on a budget. Parking and WIFI are included, which is nice. You have to tell them in the morning if you want your room cleaned, which i felt was a little strange. Cleanliness could be improved, but the staff is nice and helpful. I did like the size of the room.
