So to start, the staff were mostly good but the negatives outweigh the positives at this hotel. The bathroom was terrible, sink faucet did not work, shower barely ran and the doors etc did not close (most of the wood windows were rotten).

The hammock was a nice touch but was filthy. The cleanliness of the room was ‘ok’ but there were plenty of spots in the room we avoided as it was thick with dust.

Fans in the room didn’t really work and shook over the bed. That’s when it worked…..sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t. Power outages are also a big factor here…

I wasn’t expecting luxury amenities being in the national park, but humidity and heat is such a factor so when power outages happen, the heat is near unbearable. The hotel didn’t offer water (which would have gone a long way). Also meant the entire site was pitch black for long periods with no real communication as to when power would come back.

The proximity to the trail was good and their sister site (which was en route to Cabo San Juan) was a nice commodity when needing bathrooms or refreshments etc.

The beach near the site was nice (lifeguard at the beach was genuinely terrible, seemed to enjoy shouting nonsense at people then laughing) and the amenities *when available* were also good. We had a massage organised at relative short notice (very good). The front staff were also knowledgable.

Views from the room were great (we were ecohab 5) but can be noisy due to proximity to other rooms.

For the price, this place is disappointing. Frequent power outages for hours and hours which means you cannot use a fan, charge phones or even checkout. I had to wait 40 minutes to check out due to a power outage.
The fan in the room is old and peeling, the drain in the bathroom broken and the door didn't lock properly in the bathroom either.
I also found it odd that no water is provided- the expectation is that you buy little bottles of water constantly. It would be far better to have a pitcher in each room each day.
Some rooms have stellar views, others just so so. Ask for a room high up, bring your own water and don't expect too much- even though it's quite expensive.

Cabanas all have beautiful ocean views. Located on two beaches, one nice for swimming and the other for long walks. Meals were good. Some staff had limited English skills and our Spanish is elementary leading to a mixup in a dinner order. The ecohabs are poorly lit so nighttime reading was a stretch. Beautiful park. This is probably the nicest place to stay in the park.

It was a beautiful location, and everyone was very welcoming. It felt a bit expensive in light of other accommodations we had on our trip to Colombia, but would still recommend. Also, the complimentary breakfast was limited, and small… which was frustrating because we ended up having to order and pay for more.

Remember that you are paying for location!

The habs on themselves are fine, they are well equiped and have all you need for staying the night. However, they are not meant to stay during the day. As advertised, there is no wifi, there is no AC, and the view can only be \"enjoyed\" if you are lying down and the whole doors open.

In our case, the service was great but the hab was not ready. The phone and TV didn't work and the shower drain was clogged. They were quick to address both the TV and the shower but the phone never worked. Good think that we didn't need it during our stay. I know those are no big deals, but it is something you don't expect given the price point.

If you happen to book one of the habs in the back, prepare for quite a \"climb\". The farthest one (and the one with the best location) is 5-10 minutes from the reception and restaurant.

The beach closer to the habs is quite private but the waves can get pretty strong, so be careful. The jacuzzi is \"included\" one time per reservation and you have to book it in advance. In theory, there are 2, we only saw one. Make sure you bring sunblock with you because there is no shade in that one.

In summary, the habs are too expensive for what you get in terms of accommodation, but you pay for the luxury of being in the middle of the Tayrona Park and the easier access to the park beaches. Do not recommend for more than 2 nights.

Great place to stay to use at a morning start point for walking to the beaches in the area. The best beaches are a 1-2 hour walk from the property. We stayed in room 3, which is not well insulated and does not prevent insects from getting inside the room. The room condition itself is nice. Don’t expect luxury in this unit, the bed is small and worn. Also note that the units are really close to the ocean and you will hear the ocean waves all night. The restaurant has good reasonably priced food. Connecting to WiFi is annoying as you constantly have to re-enter username and password. Milena at front desk was pleasant and receptive to our needs.

These are the pros and cons based on my experience.
Pros: The property is beautiful. the rooms are beautifully designed, fantastic view, very unique.
Cons: The food was below average. Uncooked chicken and horrible desert. they have limited WiFi that you can only access it in the restaurant and at the reception are, and it’s one of those annoying Wi-Fi that constantly kick you out, and you have to log back by entering user name/password every few minutes. The beach is a very small area, so if you stay more than one night you will get bored here. in order to access other beaches it is a long walk/hike from this place . The bathroom is one level lower than the room, you have to walk one level go downstairs to use it. Upon check out, they gave me a bill five times more than it should be. I only had dinner and a bottle of water and they literally charged me five times more. Make sure to check the bill and don’t just hand in your Credit Card and let them swipe. When you stay here, expect a lot of discomfort. From where the bus drops you off, you have to walk about 25 minutes to get to the property and there is no other means of transportation except overpriced horses. The hotel does not help the customers by arranging transfer.

Stunning setting and amazing room

Words cannot convey how beautiful this location is! If you can, do book to go here, regardless of any concerns. The Ecohabs have a magnificent setting - we were in number 7, which is high on the hill and had a great view of the beaches and the mountains. The Ecohab was very clean and comfortable - although very hot as there is only a fan, not air con, but we were happy with that as we could open all the windows and have an all round view.
The only concerns are that the restaurant doesn't have many simple meals and the service is a bit slow, but the food we had was delicious. We particularly enjoyed La Piscinita - the private beach by the Ecohabs.

We had a great time. Highly suggested to stay in the park for a night at least. This is the best place where to do it if you are not the camping type. Comfort while in the middle of Tyrona. We also got a massage at the spa which was just incredible (way above our expectations).
I would go back in a heart bit. The one tiny thing to notice is that the food is not so great. Ok for a couple of meals but I wish there were other options for that. Otherwise, perfect !!

What I wish I knew before booking this property.

The property is great for the experience of having a hut overlooking the sea. It's peaceful and quiet.

But note, this place is in serious need of renovation. In my room, the electrics were faulty, bed net bent, light switches not attached to walls properly, pedal bin broken with no lid. I had no bulb in my bathroom for 2 of my 4 nights (more on that later).

These things were are all manageable, however, when you consider the amount you are paying for the room, I expected better.

I was also surprised that there were no toiletries, just shower gel and hand soap.

Everything had to be paid for. There was no complimentary water either. You even had to pay for water at the inclusive breakfast.

The customer service was very poor. Again disappointing given this was the most expensive place during my travels around Santa Marta.

I informed the hotel immediately ref no lights in the bathroom, yet it was not fixed for 2 of my 4 nights. I understand things happen and I managed, but what irked me was that there was no apology or acknowledgement of the inconvenience this caused (note layout & where bathroom is).

The attitude was one of 'tough luck'. This was the same attitude I encountered when my taxi driver and I waited nearly 1 hour to pay because their WiFi was so bad that I couldn't make card payment on check out. Again no apologies for the inconvenience especially to my taxi driver.

Disappointing.

WARNING ! Check for additional charges. This place literally robs you at check out and you don’t see it coming & they refuse to budge. We paid more for laundry than the hotel even though we didn’t sign or agree to prices. They don’t help you get there & they leave you out to dry. It’s probably one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. The rooms are filthy & although yes it’s in the park it’s only 5 min drive into the park - you can stay just outside for less and way nicer. Do not stay here!

I made a reservation for an Ecohab at Cañaveral but I changed it to Arrecifes at the park because I wanted to stay close to friends who had camped there.
The process to change my reservation was very friendly and easy. The staff at Cañaveral helped me to change my accommodation very easily and they were very honest. They explained me with detail the advantages and disadvantages for each location and differences between the ecohabs at Cañaveral and Cabins at Arrecife. The staff at Cañaveral guided us and helped us to find a transportation to move to Arrecife.
At Arrecife we were well welcomed by Don Francisco, he was always attentive to our needs and was very friendly and nice. The Cabin was clean, had a good bed to rest and clean bathroom.
Around the place you can find a restaurant with delicious food and drinks, camping area and public restrooms.
The park does not have power service between 10 pm to 6 am., so the cabin does not have fan at night which makes the room warm. The Cabin is in the middle of the jungle so you can find some mosquitoes, insects and bugs inside the cabin. The bed does not have veils. The place is beautiful but you will
be in the middle of the jungle and the accommodation respect the nature. The Cabins at Arrecifes do not have sea view, but you are closer to swimming beaches, and Arrecifes location reduces the trip to Cape San Juan on 1 walking hour. The staff was very friendly at this place.

El hotel es precioso y su entorno aún más. La habitación es muy bonita, con dos alturas: en la superior se encuentra la cama, en la nuestra con una única mesilla y luz de noche, y en la inferior, el baño y el frigo. Al llegar nos encontramos cuatro camas que restaban espaciosidad a la habitación. A las habitaciones y el mobiliario les falta mantenimiento. Si abres los ventanales para ver el espectacular paisaje después cuesta horrores cerrarlas, ni decir las mosquiteras. La puerta del baño no cerraba bien, teníamos que dejarla abierta, la mampara se quedaba encajada en el suelo del baño y teníamos miedo a forzarla por miedo a romperla… Problemas que pusimos en conocimiento de recepción el primer día pero que al no ser puntuales era imposible reparar de inmediato. Por otro lado, aunque los desayunos son correctos, a secas (en la mayoría de los hoteles que hemos estado en Colombia han sido mejores), los platos del restaurante nos parecieron regulares y no acordes al precio en cuanto a calidad, por ejemplo, la cazuela de mariscos y pescado estaba inundada de surimi. Destacaríamos solamente la carta de cócteles sin alcohol. El chiringuito de la playa la Piscinita, con una carta más ligera, está fenomenal para tomarte una cerveza tumbado en las hamacas del hotel disfrutando del mar. Conclusión: pagas un disparate para lo que te ofrecen, les salva la ubicación y el concepto, que no es poco, porque en lo demás es un desastre, de hecho, solo por eso probablemente volveríamos.

Die Lage ist wunderschön, aber leider war’s das auch. Bei einer so hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit und Temperatur kann man nachts ohne Klimaanlage fast unmöglich schlafen. Alles ist die ganze Zeit feucht, die ganze Anlage ist völlig in die Jahre gekommen und die Wege zwischen Rezeption / Restaurant / Unterkunft sind enorm weit (man ist klitschnass wenn man am Zimmer ankommt und wir sind beide sportlich). Es gab nur kaltes Wasser, was sicher bei den Temperaturen ok ist, aber für 200€ pro Nacht?

Das Personal am Empfang hatte eine totale Leck-mich-am-Arsch Einstellung und keiner hat nur ein einziges Wort englisch gesprochen. Das Personal im Restaurant war aber sehr, sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Insgesamt würde ich auf keinen Fall nochmal hier übernachten und es auch niemandem empfehlen. Preis-Leistung ist schrecklich und dieser Ort ist wirklich nur was für absolut hitzefeste Naturliebhaber.

L'esperienza è stata ottima! Sicuramente la particolarità della sua posizione, interna al parco, rende tutto più magico. Perfetta per chi ama stare a contatto con la natura e non ha bisogno di lusso, ma ha tutti i servizi necassari per il luogo. Una spiaggia molto bella e attrezzata, anche se sarebbe utile aggiungere una doccia. Sicuramente non è un luogo (tutto il Parco) adatto a chi ha problemi a camminare. Ma se ami muoverti è un posto magico!

Die Anlage ist traumhaft schön gelegen! Die Hütten passen sich der Umgebung perfekt an und sind über den ganzen Hügel verteilt. Das Restaurant war sehr gut und das Personal super freundlich. Am Stand sind nur die Hotelgäste, also kein Rummel. Man sollte wegen der starken Strömung nicht schwimmen, aber es gibt eine Aufsicht und wir hatten sehr viel Spaß in den Wellen in Ufernähe.
