The hotel seemed very old but well taken care of. The floors creaked and the elevator was very small which added to its charm. Although there was no pool, bar, or free breakfast, there was a sports bar next door that had the best cappuccino. The hotel also had a restaurant attached to it but it was too expensive for my taste even though they included a 10% off coupon. The hotel was in a great location and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed there pre and post cruise and during my first stay, I had a room facing a busy street so it was very noisy. My second stay was much quieter.

A boutique hotel in the center of town, in a prime location. The hotel is somewhat outdated. I felt a little claustrophobic in the small elevator. Room was spacious and updated in parts. The carpet desperately needs replacing. The shower and toilet both needed cleaning and it was obvious it had not been done. It’s definitely overpriced for what you get.

The hotel location is great close to everything and walking distance. Upon entering the lobby there was a stench that lingered the hallways and room. I did not like the smell at all. The hotel needs to be refurbished and carpet changed. The front desk staff was friendly and hotel was busy. Conveniently located but I would not recommend staying here.

This is in the heart of DT Vancouver. Easy walking distance to the Cruise ship port, although up hill, we took and Uber. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they allowed us to check our bags with them and they were in a secured room until we could check in. They offered to call to let us know if the room was ready. Wasn't necessary we walked to Gas Town to see the steam clock and explore that area. And surprisingly for a Sunday a lot of shops were open. Ubered from there to Granville Island, that's a must visit place. Love the market. When we returned, our room was ready, they helped us load our luggage onto a valet for us to take to our room. Always greeted with a smile.
The rooms themselves are clean and neat. But updates could be done in the bathroom, toilet was very low, as older models seem to be. Shower was a tub shower, all fine. All nice and clean.
A couple of cons is if you want to use any electrical plug you have to have the light switch on. I use a night light in the bathroom, but I couldn't do that. However, the shades were not blackout, so it was enough light to see without turning on the light. In the bedroom area there was only 1 accessible plug that had a lamp plugged into it. We had to disconnect to plug in a CPAP and phone charger. There were no USB plugs. Also had to turn off all lamps and leave switch on for plug to work. Coffee in room is offered, but again, only 1 plug and it was under a desk.

\"Traditional\" style hotel (built in the early 1900's), well located in the City Centre and about 10-15 mins walk from the Waterfront area. 5-10 mins walk from the Skytrain stations at City Centre (Airport line) or Granville (Expo Line), plus close to several major bus/trolleybus routes. A pleasant change to find that the rooms were serviced (and bed made) each day as well, something that a lot of places haven't bothered with in the past 5 or so years. Will certainly look at staying there again on future trips to Vancouver.
Didn't sample any of the associated eating/drinking establishments during my stay though, but discount vouchers were provided for those on checking in.

Nice, clean and cheap excellent location was about 7-10 minutes walk from all the downtown amenities like BC place, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Vogue, Orpheum, Commodore Ballroom, Robson Street etc. I think it was maybe 5 minute walk from the sky train station. The rooms are small but clean with pretty good air conditioning and surprisingly quiet considering all the night clubs operating on the next step over
My only knock was the coffee at breakfast was a mega dark roast and was not my jam at all.

The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient for walking around, but we did take an Uber a few times to get further afield. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. The onsite lounge was great for late night returns, plus the liquor store next door was perfect for grabbing wine before the cruise.

This was our second stay at the Moda following a 29 day vacation starting and ending in Vancouver. We were not disappointed. A very spacious room, comfortable bed, quiet and undisturbed sleep and the location is perfect for getting around downtown Vancouver. The IVA restaurant is a little pricey, but the food and service are exceptional. Breakfast is a plentiful and the sports bar a busy energetic buzzing venue. Yes a little tired in places, but all in all, highly recommended.

Overall, the hotel was satisfactory, but nothing particularly stood out. It presents itself as a high-end, luxury property, yet several details in the room felt quite cheap. The bed sheets seemed to be of low quality, and even the toilet paper was noticeably subpar. These are small details that could be easily improved and would make a difference in the overall experience.

Great location, and a hotel with lots of character. Staff were helpful, courteous, prompt. Room was large, bed comfortable. Couple things in the room needed some fix-up (for instance, couldn't turn the switch on the bedside lamp--had to unplug it to turn it off), and it helps if you don't mind doing some stairs (elevator is slow and small). But maybe that's all part of the charm of the place. I'll be back.

Very helpful, friendly and attentive staff. The location is absolutely brilliant - close to major shopping, food, chemist, cultural sights and transport. The Moda Hotel also has a fantastic Italian restaurant, cocktail bar and superb sports bar right on site! We loved it! The bed is very comfy too and the rooms are spacious. We were very happy with our stay at The Moda and found it easy to access the airport or Canada Place (cruise ships) via the trains at the Pacific Shopping Centre only a few streets away. Great value for money too.

The room was minimalist but beautiful. The main drawback was the layout: our room was several hundred yards from the front desk, so any request required deciding whether it was worth the long walk. The refrigerator did not work; maintenance acknowledged the issue and said it would be replaced but never did.
Front desk staff were polite but not particularly helpful, while the corridor staff were exceptional. The canteen/gift shop was overpriced and had a limited selection.
We dined at the restaurant, which was excellent—I highly recommend it. The location is also very central. Overall, despite a few inconveniences, I would return to this hotel.

My husband & I like small cozy hotels like Moda. We don’t need high rise and luxury.
Even if old building, clean, safe and good location. Those are most important for us.

The staff is fantastic and there is a connected bar/cafe for breakfast and lunch and an Italian restaurant for dinner. The room we had was a bit small, but manageable. It was very clean and the bed was made up every day. It had a Keurig machine, which was a nice touch. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because there is very little shelf space, in the bathroom, to put toiletries. I mean, there is less room than you'd get in a cruise ship cabin bathroom! But, if that isn't an issue for you, the price is right, the place is clean, the staff is great, and we met a LOT of guests who were either waiting to embark on a new cruise or were staying there at the end of a cruise.
