This hotel has so much potential if they renovate a bit, it stands at a low-income country quality, more a 3-star than a 4. I guess it was amazing at his peak back in the days. Staff is super nice and welcoming. The room are okay, outdated but comfortable, except the pillows that are cheap. No bugs. Bathroom are clean but need a good scrub to be perfect. I was there out of season so it was super calm, unfortunately amenities listed were not available like the interior pool and spa, the restaurant à la carte, and Cafe. The breakfast buffet was good and diverse, I didn't took the supper option, but it looked good too.The exterior pool was open, clean enough to swim, but the ceramic joints needed a scrub. Briefly it was good enough for a two-day stay, but would not stay for a week or something like that. I booked with a discount, but at full price, I don't thing I would have picked this hotel.

Nice hotel with a beautiful and huge outside pool.

Rooms are spacious and shower has good pressure. But they need to improve cleaning between guests because we find hair inside the tub and garbage in one nightstand.

Douz is a small town, so you are close to all main roads connecting the main attraction.

We got the Half board which includes breakfast and diner. There were plenty of option on both. Food was tasty and fresh. During breakfast there was an omelete station and during dinner there was a grill station with different options every night.
Only complain is that they don’t give you free water.

Overall I highly recommend for the cost-benefit.

The property location and grounds are very beautiful but when we got to our room ‘reality sank in’. The bell boy rushed to open the windows saying it was a beautiful day and we should enjoy the fresh air. The truth is the room reeked badly of cigarettes. The room was really dated which was ok but the bed and pillows were tooo old. The mattress had a big ‘hole’ right in the middle and the pillows had big very weird lumps. The bathroom looked dirty they didn’t have a shower door which is fine but the shower curtain was disgustingly dirty and the handles and faucet in the tub were all rusty. The breakfast was also very poor. The staff is not really very welcoming. Anyway the whole experience was very disappointing.

Nous avons bien aimé notre séjour, hôtel tranquille, belle piscine et personnel très gentil et accueillant. La plomberie de la douche à refaire, pas de pression, tuyau qui fuit. Toilette qui coule. Mais globalement très bien, et très abordable.

I was worried with all the bad reviews, but this place was perfect for an overnight stop before going to the desert. It costs 20 dinar (~$6 USD) to park there overnight, however, the parking has a guard and roof so it is worth it. We also left our bags there. There is no wifi in the rooms, but honestly, I tethered through my Google Fi phone connection in most places in Tunisia anyway. Overall a good stay.

I really enjoyed my stay

The hotel is nice, big and relaxed. The staff is very nice and speak some English which is a rarity. The room was clean and the hotel is close to the desert. You can also get a trip through the hotel and they are very competitively priced. The breakfast was basic but tasty (better than in other hotels in Tunisia). Being close to the desert, it is quite a distance from town but the hotel can call a taxi which was also very reasonably priced. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

It’s ok hotel if you need to spend a night before Sahara Desert tour. Outdated facility, although the foyer and entrance are grand and built on massive scale but got stuck in 70th era . Breakfast was poor, very limited. No natural juice options only instant drinks. Coffee it could hardly call it coffee you would not be able to drink it. No butter- margarine option only . WiFi available only in the lobby area

This is a lovely large hotel that works hard to provide excellent services to a complex clientele. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the lobby very nice, the rooms nice for such a large hotel and the location is excellent. We chose half board and found the food very good.

Too much less staff to attend to your basic needs (most of the time , nobody at the reception and sometimes you call from the room, but no reply). Terrible food, and more than that, while checking out they do not want to give you any invoice or proper receipt , and they they try to convince you that this is normal (it is too much weired). It seems that they are getting used to groups only.

An excellent choice for Douz

Very good in all respects apart from location (some way from town - taxi required, but all tourist hotels are located in this area) and the indoor pool was closed. Excellent WiFi in room, TV had BBC World. The demi pension was very good value - good buffets for both breakfast and dinner.

Excellent facilities and very large property. Nice pool and atmosphere in the evening. Very nice interior, a bit dated but it has its charm. The buffet dinner was very good for vegetarian and good value. Attentive staff too. Compared to other hotels in the area, this is much nicer. Lot of tour group use it. Very good value for money and I would gladly stay at any of their hotels again.

Great experience at El Mouradi Douz!

I must admit...because another hotel in Zone Touristique had received a better review in Lonely Planet, we tried to make a reservation there first. But no other hotels were able to accommodate my wife, myself, and our two teen sons in the same room. El Mouradi Douz gave us a great half-board rate and a HUGE, recently remodeled suite for our family to share. The gentlemen at the reception desk were very helpful in giving us advice about guides and activities in the Sahara. We were very pleased with our entire experience at El Mouradi Douz!

Broken Promises

This hotel met only my basic needs. The air conditioning in my room never got cold enough, leaving the room stuffy throughout my stay. In addition, it was impossible to connect to the internet anywhere in the hotel throughout my stay. The hotel advertised both the air conditioning and the internet in its Hotels.com listing. I cannot reward a business that does not follow through on its promises.

Miserable Hotel

The hotel looks very nice from the outside. However, you are situated next to the desert and it is very hot. The hotel felt like a sauna inside. Who wants to sleep in a sauna, eat in a sauna or hang out all day in a sauna? They tried me in 3 different rooms and I finally just gave in. The service was horrible. The one nice thing about this hotel was the pool. It was the only place to cool off. Of course they had let all the local boys in from the town so they were gawking at all the tourist girls. It was not a pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast was also a joke. They try and save money by putting out the cheapest food items. I live and work in Tunisia and I will definitely never take my clients here.

The El Mouradi DOuz is in a very good location if attending the Sahara Festival. It does not yet appreciate the necessity of providing advertised services ie internet in rooms or even the lobby area. It also is very cold in the public rooms and it was necessary to wear coats and hats to dinner and breakfast. Rooms were a good size but the mattresses were like rock.

Nice hotel for a stay in Douz. Staff is friendly. We had a junior suite which was quite spacious. The pool is very clean and staff of hotel friendly and helpful.

The only negative aspect of this hotel is the dining room. This hotel caters lots of tours. Bus load of turists in dining room. Service is rushed and atmosphere not that pleasant. Food is very basic and not the best we had in Tunisia.

Very satisfied in the Sahara!

My stay in this hotel was fantastic in every way! Led by a terrific hotel manager, ALL of the employees went over and above their normal duties to be sure that my experience was perfect. The location was perfect for exploring the Sahara and for shopping at the market, the service was impecable, the hotel beautifully kept - I could not have been happier!

Calidad-precio super bien. Pero, cada vez que usabas un servicio (comida, masaje, etc) tenías que ir a pagarlo al momento en lugar de juntarlo todo al final. Mientras comíamos el camarero tenía prisa por cobrarnos y nos pedía ir hasta la recepción. No me pareció aprepiado!

en général , c'estun bon et agréable hotel.

le seul hic ètait la soirée apres le diner et en plein hall de la réception ,un groupe séjournant à l'hotel s'est permis de s'y rassembler , d'utiliser un amplificateur pour son , de chanter tres fort accompagné d'instruments à percussion ( darbouka , bendir ) , et nous n'avons pa pu y rester tellement le son et le brouhaha étaient perçants et génants.

Nous avons fait étape une nuit. Cadre agréable, parking gratuit devant l hôtel. Avec le Covid, mesures trés strictes à l hôtel, quasi vide . Pas de restaurant , nous avons eu un plateau repas et le barman a fait tout ce qu'il a pu pour nous.

Le service de l'hôtel n'est pas top.
La chambre et l'hôtel en général n'est pas propre.
Lors de la réservation, nous avions pris la formule petit-déjeuné en buffet et nous nous sommes retrouvés avec des plateaux servis en extérieur, tous les jours la même chose. J'avais déjà été en 2019 dans cet hôtel et le service, propreté, etc n'était absolument pas le même que cette année.

Je vous contacte aujourd'hui pour vous faire part de mon mécontentement sur mon dernier voyage à Douz. J'ai l'habitude de voyager dans beaucoup d'hotel, j'ai déja utilisé et conseiller Expédia a beaucoup de personnes autour de moi mais cette expérience me fait regretter mes anciens actes.
Moi et mon équipe de tournage somme parti à Douz dans l'hotel El Mouradi Douz et ce fut un enfer. Ce fut une honte pour moi d'accueillit mon équipe, les mannequins, maquilleur, coiffeur dans cet hotel lugubre.

Premièrement j'avais choisis cet hotel car il est dit qu'il est un 4 étoiles sur votre site, ainsi qu'il y avait une piscine en intérieur, arrivé la bas mon équipe attendant impatiament d'aller à la piscine et on nous annonce qu'elle ferme à 20h00 ce qui est très tot, le lendemain nous venons pour demander ou est la piscine à 17h et on nous dit que celle ci n'est pas chauffer et que les chauffage est cassé, je pars donc dans une colère noir avec le gérant de l'hotel qui ne cesse de me répéter \"l'eau est froide, l'eau est froide\" sans me donner plus d'information ou de solution.

Deuxièmement, les lumières ne marchaient dans aucunes des chambres que j'ai booker, il y avait seulement 1 prise éléctrique par chambre et nous avions demander qu'on nous ramène des rallonges et la moitié ne marchait pas et l'electricien attendait face à nous chaques fois pour réclamer un

C'est un Havre de paix pour ceux qui aiment le désert. C'est un oasis de calme et de tranquillité. Pas beaucoup de mouvements, il y'a des excursions bien sûr mais moi je viens pour la tranquillité et pour une cure de sommeil
