We have stayed at this property many times however this time we were not impressed. The rooms not clean bedspread was very dirty . Used bar soap in shower no cups for coffee.. I could on.. I am not sure why this stay was so poor because every past year we have come it has been good to Satisfactory.

This place was $80 cheaper per night than the other accommodation so we were not expecting palace. The bed covers were not iron so that made me questions whether they were clean, a closer look showed they were. The outside wooden pellet was rotten.

The first room we were given smelled mouldy so we asked for another room.
the second room had the heater on full blast so we opened the windows to air it out.
We didnt realize until after that the bathroom smelled like sewage.
There were extension cords on the floor for the heater and air conditioner.
Our cooler leaked water and when we wiped it off the floor, the white towel turned black from how dirty the floor was.
There were also stains on the sheets.
Last but not least, on the second night a couple of men started banging on our door at 3:30 am and it took a couple minutes out shouting through the door to make them go away. Safe to say we wont be back.

The only thing I would complain about was there was only 2 pillows on the bed, so my girlfriend and I had 1 each. They were thin and not enough support, 2 pillows each would have been nice.

It is 5 min walk to the entrance of scout lake and other hiking trails. Lots of exploring in the area, the room was a good place to exllore from and a bed at the end of the night.

Such a value find! The room had beautiful view of mountains. The motel albeit being a bit old, was wonderful and clean. The staff were very accommodating. Check-in closes at midnight, but we were unsure if we would arrive by then. I called the place earlier in the evening and informed them about this. They sent us detailed instructions on how to check in ourselves. They also told me to call them anytime if I needed help. Free breakfast was also a nice bonus

Air conditioner out of order. Lucky we didn't need it. TV not working but an employee did replace the controllers. A complex system to operate. Finally got it going. Cheaper than the Wyndham but would be worth the few a few extra $ to stay there.

Gold River has a super remote location, right in the middle of fantastic mountains. The motel has a mountain movie-like ambience for its setting. Very basic motel, cheap and cheery.

Pretty rough. Linens and furnishings were really old and thrift store quality. Floor was sticky. Breakfast was self serve using shared jam and peanut butter containers and dishes were not clean. Furnishings were sticky. No room service tidying during stay. One room had no soap or shampoo in containers. Stairs are uneven and tripping hazard.

The rooms could use a bit of refreshing, but ours was very clean and everything worked just fine. Very quiet location with flowers and other nice touches that made the place look attractive and well-cared-for. The breakfast room is nicely renovated. Breakfast choices were a bit limited-- I remember muffins, bagels, bread, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, plus coffee and tea-- and the fridge and sink were not very clean. Overall, we would recommend, and would stay here again.

Pros: the property is in a pretty area. The beds were clean and comfortable. It seemed to be the only place to stay in the small town at that time (another place is opening soon). The hospitality room for tea/coffee and toast was nice to have access to. The other guests were lovely. The one staff member I met was pleasant.
Cons: the hotel is either short staffed for cleaners or the people who clean don't know how. My feet were black minutes after taking my shoes off in my room. I could almost write \"please clean me\" in the bottom rim of the tub that needed a SCRUB, not a light misting if that was done. There was a line behind the bathroom door as though nobody had cleaned the floor behind the door for a very long time (I checked, it wasn't stain, it was dirt). The room had a cheap plug-in overpowering deodorizer that I was thankful my sister found, because it was SO strong I could barely breath. We put it outside and aired out the room. And the hospitality room floor had also not been cleaned as evidenced by the old tea/coffee drips that could easily be wiped up.
Luckily we took it with a grain of salt and were happy to have a place to stay in the small town. But I've travelled with picky people and they may have had an issue. Also, the price for what we received was about double what I'd expect, but to be fair, it's a quiet town in the winter, and I'm sure they need to make up for that in the summer to keep the hotel open, which we were thankful to have.

The owners have been working on upgrading this property and it’s much more comfortable than in years past. This hotel is about the only option in town but the staff is great, accommodating, and really try. Continental breakfast is above average and nice for those early mornings.

My room was clean, well lit, with a lovely view of a grove of trees. The Hospitality Room, where the breakfast is available, is open all day, so I was able to toast some of my bread and make sandwiches. The flowers around the outdoor seating area are beautiful. This is a \"working person\" motel, with space to park rigs/boats, fish cleaning station, and ease of access. The staff person is friendly, helpful, and cheerful.

Great motel in Gold River. Very friendly staff. Met the owner, and the manager. They wanted to make sure we were happy. Great location next to a very nice pub with great food, a minute walk to tourist info and EV chargers, plus great trails for walking the dog.

We stayed at the Ridgeview Motor Inn in 2023 and 2024. We noticed a lot of improvements between our first and second visit. The area in general looks much cleaner and there were lots of flowers which is a nice touch. The buildings are old but it looks like they are continually improving the facilities. This is not a five star resort but is a perfect stop for travelers and fishermen. It would be nice if they had something more than a countertop ice machine.

Good place for a game of cards in the evening, chatting with other guests. Place could use more staff for deep cleaning and maintenance. Nice and quiet.

Not great service, the room was pretty minimal and the opposite of what anyone in North America would call “fancy”. The cleaner didn’t have our room ready so we took another. The ice machine was out of order and the hospitality room had one of those that put out abut a half of a normal ice cube tray every 20 minutes. The breakfast was fine but no spoons? I wanted oatmeal….. for $190 CAD a night, it wasn’t worth it. Waiting for the Chalet to open back up.

Bed was comfortable although I'd say a double not a queen and they have those awful old-fashioned bedspreads. Room was comfortable temp/warm. Shower was good temp, water pressure good. Coffee pot was dirty, towels were stained, room smelled like dirty feet upon first entering. Breakfast in morning offered minimal options and was offered in full sizes for everyone to share, ex., there was yogurt but you had to scoop it out of the container. Same for cereal, etc. Margarine container was disgusting. Whole breakfast layout was just bad. Coffee was ok and I did risk getting a glass of apple juice from the fridge but I do say risk. Pub is walking up the hill for food which is good although we waited for an hour due to lack of staff they said. Smoking outside rooms is tolerated so our neighbours were smoking and it was entering our room. Couldn't open window thru night because of this. Property is run down and neglected. All in all, I'd try to stay somewhere else but there really isn't anywhere else. I'm just glad I got a good night's sleep.

Due to lack of staff I'm assuming, the room was not cleaned properly, dirt on the floors, no hot water in the shower, the jetted tub in our room still had hair in the jets, did not use. Saw that the margarine peanut butter containers had been open all day in the heat. Had friends staying there also their bathroom floor was sticky.

The motel was worn down and in need of a lot of upkeep and maintenance, the room stank of cigarette smoke and it was a no smoking room, the amenities were very poor, the only good part was the large TV to take your mind off the other issues.
