A lovely place to celebrate ♥️

We booked Castello Dal Pozzo as a special treat to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

The whole estate is just stunning, and the team was so welcoming. They gave us a lovely upgrade for our anniversary and were so accommodating for my coeliac disease.

The pool was incredible!
As were the views and, of course, the wine room! We would recommend taking part in a wine tasting ♥️🍷

On our first night, we had dinner at the Dan Garden Lounge, which was so romantic.

Then, on a separate night, I had the best gluten-free club sandwich I've ever had from
The main bar/ restaurant!

Even though we went at the end of the season and things were closing up, the team couldn't have been more helpful!

From the moment we arrived at the Castello until the moment we left we felt of taken care of in the best way.
The staff was super friendly and professional, Samantha helped us to find the perfect room for us, a very nice junior suite with view of the lago di maggiore. In the beginning we did not understand that there are actually 3 different housing options but everything was clear after the explanation. The rooms are very clean and nice.
We had dinner on arrival outside in the restaurant of the hotel and the food and wine were excellent.
Breakfast was rich with many options.
This is a beautiful spot where it is quiet and within minutes you are among people and nice restaurants if you want.
We definitely recommend this place and we hope to return there again.

Castello Dal Pozzo is a lovely historical property on lovely grounds. We were given an upgraded room and sparkling wine on arrival. However, the quaint room in the tower had problems with the air conditioning/heating system. It was not working correctly (no cooling on first night, but system gurgled so loudly that it sounded like a waterfall); when we informed staff the next day, they tried to fix it, but when we returned in the evening it was instead blowing hot air and still gurgling a loudly as before - room temp was up to 26C and climbing on warm May evening. We ended up asking staff to turn off the system, which stopped the hot air from blowing, but did not stop the noise. We slept with windows open both nights, but stink bugs flew in by the many dozens.

Needs some improvement

The property is AMAZING...it is a castle nestled on beautiful grounds with paths/trees, etc. They have a pool and three restaurants. However, the rooms were a bit tired and needed some remodeling. With some improvements, the place can be a nice location near Lake Maggiore to visit!

The hotel is exquisitely furnished with marble, Venetian chandeliers, tapestries and fine fabrics. The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine with historical significance. About 30 minutes from MXP in a quaint small town. Certainly beats the standard stay in a generic airport hotel and well worth the extra time to drive even if only for one night.

The property was amazing! We had a great stay, the rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, and the breakfast was amazing! Unfortunately, it wasn’t clear that the rooms I was booking were not in the castle itself! And it was a little disappointing that the bars and restaurants don’t have a view of the lake! But we would definitely come back, and also spend more time in the lovely village of Arona!

Best value 4/5 star romantic stay closeish to MXP

Hotel was in a classic Manor House as advertised, next to an even grander family castle (to which we were offered a tour). We would pisition it has having four stars until the spa and pool area are completed. The restaurant service was personalised and excellent, making up for the overly bright lighting which slightly diluted what would otherwise have been a romantic ambience.

My stay at Castello Dal Pozzo was simply amazing. The hotel and surrounding area is gorgeous and the service was wonderful. The hotel staff was attentive and even went out of their way to accommodate an early check-in as we were leaving pretty early the next day. Our rooms were cleaned up and organized at some point while we were out in the city, and they even prepared \"to go\" breakfast bags for us! I wish I could have stayed longer. I am beyond grateful for their service and the experience!

Peaceful and relaxing hotel not far from Lake Maggiore, which is about 10 minutes away by car.
The grounds of the hotel which surround the old castello are extensive and beautiful. Lovely to sit on the terrace of the wine bar at the castello and take in the view of the gardens. Note that the wine bar is only open from 5pm and
didn't think that the piped cafe club music on the wine bar terrace suited the surroundings.
Overall a very pleasant stay and the staff are first class.

Absolutely lovely but remote

The hotel is lovely. We had a beautiful junior suite overlooking the lake (ok, from a distance but still overlooking). Lovely fruit bowl awaited us and the heated towel rack is always nice. The property is beautiful, with walled in gardens and a castle. The breakfast was very nice and varied. Parking is on site in an enclosed garage which is very easy to manage.

If you're looking to get away from it all, and have a car, this might be a great choice. The property is really remote, with about a 10 min drive to the lake and the town of Arona. You have to drive up very narrow streets in order to get in and out. Buyer beware, there's nothing to walk to - you have to drive each day.
Also, although you have a tv in your room, the stations are only in Italian. We were a bit surprised as this hotel prides itself on being award winning, that they wouldn't have the satellite that would give you a few (one?) station in English. Again, great if you want to get away from it all.

On the way to LAKE Como. Was a nice break and great time of relaxing. Everyone treated us royally. The welcome was one of the best every. Everything was great and the time that night in the Restaurant was great. Beautiful presentation. Food was too expensive for what you got and the waiters got the food mixed up, but still a memorable night. The grounds are beautiful and very relaxing.

hotel too far from anywhere and too expensive

hotel catering staff very good but the hotel is 65km out of Milan, 35km from mxp airport with no direct train link. taxi from mxp exorbitant and taxis from arona to hotel are extortionate and stop operating around 8pm. hotel no good unless you are visiting arona or oleggio castello only.
hotel is too expensive for what it is. meals in hotel restaurant good but very expensive. this is one hotel to avoid. reception staff clueless about best way to get to hotel from mxp airport.

Beautiful castle grounds with a little wine bar for the evenings, set in the little village of Ollegio Castello and only a moment away from Arona and the shores of lake Maggiore for fine dining, excellent shopping and great site seeing.

Fairytale Castle - Perfection

What more can I say than our stay was perfect in every single way. We stayed one night and left wishing we were staying forever. As we arrived we were greeted by an incredibly helpful member of staff who began our check in process, he then passed over to the reception team who completed this very speedy and efficient process. We had booked the castle as opposed to the main hotel (Palace) which was a few steps away in private gated grounds. The original staff member asked us to follow him in his car to show us where to park, we were just around the corner from the door but he would not let us walk or carry our cases ourselves, instead to drove us the small distance. This is where we first realised the service we were going to receive the remained of our stay would be exemplary and in fact second to none to anywhere in the world I have previously stayed. The staff didn't want you to lift a finger during your stay of it was something they could do then they wanted to do it for you, this didn't feel foreced and a problem for them, they were genuine and you really felt they were proud to make your stay the best it could be. We booked a massage but none of their usual people were available so they made arrangements for someone to come in and do this. Service at dinner and lunch was impeccable, so was the food which was beautiful and not lacking in portion size like you may expect in some fancy restaurants. I could go on and on about this place and how amazing it was but please go!

This was a wonderful place for us to spend our last night in Europe. The hotel is wonderful, its as simple as that. The staff were outstanding. The location is the only thing that could be a draw back depending on what your looking for. If want somewhere that is in the middle of all the action this isnt the place but if your looking for a amazing place to stay for a quite getaway then this is the place for you. For us it wasnt a negative, it was so peaceful in beautiful area. We dined at the hotel and it was beautiful and the service was without fault. If you get the chance go for a walk in the gardens across the road. Amazing building and gardens. We loved this hotel and will definatly be back next time we are in the region, This hotel was all class.

One of the nicest places I have stayed!

Fantastic Place to stay! This is one of the best places I have ever stayed! The staff is superb! All other hotel staff members should be trained by the people that work this property. The property is spotless! They did not want me to roll my luggage on their floors, that is how clean it is. Stayed in the Palace (Pink) Property. They offered me a room in the Castle but I chose the Palace because I felt the bed looked more comfortable. The Castle is very classy. The Palace has extremely well appointed rooms. The bathroom made me feel like I was in a very expensive hotel. The morning breakfast was excellent! The food was very fresh, very good, and there was a lot of variety. I wish I would have taken the time to have dinner at this location. The property is very quite at night. It is located in a small sleepy little town about 10 minutes from Lake Maggorie. Do not miss the beautiful little town of Orta San Giulio on Lago (lake) d'Orta, an easy drive from this property. Love, Love, Love this Property! What a wonderful place!

Magnificent old-time palazzo with lake view

Old palazzo and castle that worth the visit on their own for the thousand year old history. Ask for the guided visit in the Castle that personnel will do for you for free. Location is 30min between lake Maggiore and Orta, and there is nothing of interest in the walking distance, apart from the palazzo park itself. Hotel builds swimming pool and wellness center, but from where they are now it will take them a lot of time to finish. Breakfast is nice though don't think of 5-star hotel on Middle East or Asian standard. Generally, don't expect full 5-star hotel. But its history compensates it all

A little gem between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta

This hotel was exceptional, and when they finish building the spa centre alongside I am sure it will be 5 star, meanwhile the service is well up to 5 star standard. We stayed for 3 nights. The accommodation is in the (modern but beautiful) Pallacio. Rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean, elegantly furnished and comfortable. Our bedroom was better that the 5 star hotel we had been in the previous few nights, and that was good. The restaurant had excellent food with local dishes, service good here too. Only complaint would be that on arrival we found the restaurant was already fully booked that evening, but reception made us a booking at a very good restaurant within walking distance. There was an excellent breakfast buffet which could be eaten indoors or on the internal courtyard. You can visit and have a guided tour of the old Castillo free of charge, also free access to the gardens for walking. Good wifi access throughout the building and terraces. We will definitely choose to go back there.

Great Value, but not 5*

We found this hotel on the web from other travellers reviews. In terms of value for money it certainly is one of the best we have stayed at.

We travelled mid-July. Not quite high season, but close enough to it.

Now the reality check. The hotel is listed as 5*, but in truth we would rate it as 4*. Still plenty good enough though. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and well attended.

Breakfast is perfectly adequate, but to be worthy of a 5* rating it would need to be more extensive in range and presentation.

The restaurant wasn't open all week which was disappointing, so we cannot pass comment.

Outside, the surroundings are pleasant and there is a decent view over Lake Maggiore. As a guest you can also walk around the Castle next door.

There is no swimming pool or other amenities on-site that would make make this a true 5* hotel, but a spa is apparently planned in the near future.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly, and the hotel is well situated to explore the area.

The hotel is located out of the lake shore area , so a car is essential . If the hotel had a swimming pool , which is apparently under construction , and some where to relax comfortably I would have recommended this as a place to for a holiday stay rather than just a business or stop off location .
The staff could not be faulted , helpful and polite and happy to please . Unfortunately , the housekeeping was not up to the mark . Our Junior suite had only ever been dusted where the eye could see . The room furniture was covered in a layer of thick dust on the table legs and bureau cabinet and the bathroom tiled ledge had also never seen a duster . This was just down to lazy maids and really let down what was a lovely appointed room .

This is an exquisite hotel but in a rather remote location. It is a 30 minute walk from the town of Arona. The staff are very helpful. Our dinner was lovely but we felt the food was not warm enough.

The Hotel sits looking out to Arona and Lake Maggiore and has a welcoming and professional staff. The main castle is an imposing and grand building with expansive gardens for walks and a great deal of history and architectural interest. The Palace is very comfortable and has the feel of a country manor with original artworks and fittings that give the feel of living in days past. Overall the management and staff of this hotel made every effore to make my 2 week stay with them a good one. The in house restaurant does 5 star gourment food and an excellent \"Beef Wellington\" all in all hightly recommended.

Construction on two sides

The photos and description of this hotel suggested that the \"castle\" was in a beautiful green area overlooking the lake. The castle however, which has 7 rooms was closed (unclear as to why) and we were booked in the \"palace.\" The palace nearby the castle is in the midst of a major construction of a spa area and the palace overlooked a fire ravaged historic building with considerable garbage. Our room had no view of the lake, nor did any of the rooms. With one person at reception and not others anywhere, there was no offer of assistance with luggage. The 5 star rating must have been an old rating because neither the restaurant, the ambiance, or the service would warrant it. Breakfast was lovely.
The dining room on a Friday night had 3 tables with guest the entire evening. Not worth the price.

O hotel é simplesmente incrível. Reservei uma noite somente para descansarmos antes da viagem de volta e não tinha pesquisado muito.
O lugar é fantástico. Pena que chegamos tarde e não conseguimos aproveitar.
Jantamos no restaurante e foi maravilhoso. Melhor café da manhã de toda viagem.
O quarto era no castelo mesmo, decoração antiga mantida. Tudo impecável. Parecia que tínhamos voltado no tempo. Vale demais. Espero voltar novamente
