You have to ask to borrow a hair dryer; they don’t provide it unless you request one. Also, the hair dryer isn’t attached to the wall, so you have to hold it while drying your hair. There’s no chair, which is inconvenient. The bedding is slightly torn. The vending machine only accepts cash. Other than that, everything is clean.

The room was not really clean at all, not even a closet, a very small room. This room should be not even $100 for 2 nights and it was more than $200 with these poor conditions. Why it was so expensive 😫 for that BS. Shame on them!

This place was a homeless shelter.Everything is bad here.No hot water,no amenities, had to get a space heater.Cigarette burns in the chair and bed blankets.Asked for new set and got a different set cigarette burns on that one too.
Dirty linenes.Avoid this place unless its free.

Stayed here last minute when I missed my flight out of JFK. My room had no security latch, no phone, and a sticky glue like substance on the top blanket. I eventually found the phone in the closet with the receiver on the top shelf and the cord and the handheld piece dangling from it, as if it was used as some murder weapon, ripped out the wall, and then thrown in the closet after. Also, I was only going to have two hours of sleep before going to my next flight, and I’m awoken in the middle of the night by some ghetto lady in the hallway banging on the door of the room next door demanding to be let in while yelling profanities. This place is a dump. I wish I could submit pictures on here.

DO NOT GO HERE WHAT SO EVER! worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. The rooms are FILTHY. The sheets have burn holes and stains the walls the floors are dirty. The only thing half decent maybe was the bathroom? But still water spilled all over the floor. There was people next door blasting music all night with other people screaming down the hall way. Honestly so freakin scary just save ya bread. Don’t go I had to change my room and pay $70 to get an uber home

I recently stayed at Hotel Pergola and unfortunately my experience was disappointing.

While the room did contain the basic necessities — a bed, running water, and functioning plumbing — the overall condition and environment of the room were not acceptable. Upon entering, there was a strong odor of marijuana, followed by an overwhelming smell of bleach, which made the space very uncomfortable and raised concerns about cleanliness and ventilation.
Additionally, the heat in the room did not work, which made the stay especially unpleasant given the weather. The curtains had dirt stains and there was a sticky residue on the floor whete a carpet or some other covering was removed.

The most troubling part of my stay occurred during checkout. I had been assured by staff that I could remain in the room for an additional four hours after the scheduled checkout time. However, when the time came, I was suddenly told that I must either pay immediately or vacate the room. I explained that I was unable to complete the payment at that time for religious reasons, but this was not respected, and I was still forced to either pay or leave, despite the earlier agreement.

This situation caused unnecessary stress and discomfort and left me feeling misled and disrespected as a guest.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements in both customer service communication and overall room conditions.

I checked in, went to the room when I opened the door inside was 100 degrees, I went inside turned the heat down, and tried locking the door but it was still open, it was not locking from inside so I felt unsafe and I went back to the front desk and I told them I felt unsafe because the door was not locking from the inside and I wanted a refund I don’t want to stay there. I was told that they could not provide a refund at that moment so I should call them in the morning and the manager would process the refund. Unfortunately when I called I was told it was none refundable. This place overall is horrible to stay, and has no parking outside

The FAT girl who’s there during the afternoon shift is horrible. She lied about the maintenance fixing my heat & told me to check it after he did. He wasn’t fixed something I already knew so she switched my room !! The day I checked out some guy was being assorted out & arrested by the warrant squad for prostitution, some girl was standing by the elevator in lingerie smh

Okay where do I start??? Well I looked online before making my purchase. I pulled up all the pictures of the hotel and room online. I was able to see how nice the rooms were. I also liked the fact that online it said that the hotel provides a shuttle to and from JFK airport. I was really thrilled to make my reservation and not have to worry about a ride to and from the airport. Once I arrived and called the hotel asking them how do I get in contact with their shuttle. I was told there was no shuttle. Once I used a taxi to get to the hotel I mentioned to the owner and she kinda laughed and said she doesn’t know why they have that online. So I let that situation go and just wanted to get my day started. Once I got to my room I noticed that it wasn’t clean. The floor needed to be swept, the walls were nasty, the bathroom was also nasty as if the shower wasn’t clean ever. I asked for room service to come clean my room and was denied. I later saw a roach in my bathroom and couldn’t believe it. I asked to get a refund but was denied and told the room was none refundable. I would never recommend this hotel ever. I noticed on the sliding door the hotel was given a D for multiple violations. I am upset at Expedia and hotel pergola for even saying they are a 4 start hotel. I would like to have a refund back. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that was ever that bad. I don’t usually right bad reviews about hotels but people need to not to book a reservation through Expedia for hotel Pregola.

Do NOT book this hotel. It is located on Jamaica Ave in a very rough, unsafe-feeling area. The name “Pergola JFK” is misleading because it took us 45 minutes to get there from the airport, not the 18 minutes they advertise. The hotel looks nothing like the photos and felt uncomfortable from the moment we arrived.
The rooms were in extremely poor condition. There was a heavy cigarette smell mixed with an overpowering strong cleaning-supplies odor, broken floorboards, a very hard and uncomfortable bed, damaged and stained linens, torn curtains, dirty walls, mold on the bathroom ceiling, and worn, damaged furniture. There is almost no soundproofing, so you hear traffic, conversations, TVs, and doors slamming constantly.
The vending machine sells condoms and the property offers hourly rates, which tells you the type of environment you should expect. At one point, a guest was in the hallway in only underwear during a loud dispute with staff. Repeated knocking on the room door continued for a long time, waking us up and making the stay even more stressful.
From the moment I saw my room, I wanted to leave. The front desk staff was rude and said the booking was non-refundable. Even after showing us two more rooms in similarly unacceptable condition, they refused to let us pay for just one night and refund the rest.
This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Save yourself the stress and choose another place to stay.

They had people strung out on drugs in the lobby, and drugs outside the front lobby. While waiting to check in we over heard a grown man complaaining of strange people lurking outside his room at night as well as no hot water. This paired with the drugs and people in the lobby was enough for me and my sister (two young girls) to not feel safe staying in this establishment. The front desk worker did nothing to reassure us aand said she was unaable to refund us for the unused room when we decided not to stay.

This was the absolute worst. Needed something quick after a missed flight and wasn’t expecting a 5* resort but definitely wasn’t expecting there to be what seemed like a club going on in the room next door. The music was so loud you heard it on the entire floor. “Security” was of no help as the extremely loud music continued till 4:30am then restarted at 5:30 and finally ended at 9am. My daughter was electrocuted by the open outlet in the room and the mattresses felt like cardboard boxes filled with gravel. People hanging out in stairwells screaming children running up and down hallways. Next time I’ll save myself $130 and sleep in a chair at the airport. Never again.
