The Farmhouse Hotel
My husband and I were not so sure we had made a good choice as our cab drove us to this destination and the last 1/2 mile was a dirt road. It’s in a very remote location so we would definitely recommend anyone staying here has a vehicle! The property is expansive with gardens and grapevines. Rita, the owner, went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. The 2 nights we stayed she cooked us delicious & authentic homemade meals, complete with wine that is bottled on the property. There are chickens, cats & a resident peacock named Pinot!! We are so grateful for this experience and have wonderful stories as a result of our stay.
The cons were that we don’t speak Italian & Rita had trouble understanding us at times. Her son was helpful with translation. Also, in our room, there was a deep bathtub with a broken drain that was difficult to get in and out of. Unfortunately, no shower. Overall the house is kept cool.
