They were very accommodating in terms of check in and luggage storage. The room was spacious and clean. Nice to have a minibar.

The bed was huge but too hard. The pillows need to be replaced also. Other than the bed and pillows, I would give it five stars for people who want the traditional experience.

We had an incredible stay! The staff was super helpful and kind. The breakfast with made-to-order coffee is delicious. The room was lovely and comfortable. Plus, it has an elevator to make it easier to bring up suitcases. This place is so conveniently located! The only concern is that, because they don’t have a desk person after 7pm, sometimes other guests leave access doors open, which isn’t too safe.

What a quaint bed and breakfast in a great location! After a quick walk from the train station we found ourselves in a wonderful oasis with Florentine charm. After a great night sleep in comfortable beds we enjoyed a tasty breakfast then set out for the best of Florence accessed at our doorstep. Would definitely recommend!!!

The hotel told us they didn’t receive our reservation through Expedia, even though they did eventually found out that Expedia has sent the reservation into their email. We booked for five nights, and they only have one night available.

The staff told us she was sorry about the situation, and we can drink the water in the mini bar for free. Then the next morning, another staff came over and charged quite a bit for the drinks.

The room had a very high ceiling and the ac was barely working, it can’t cool off the room at all…

It is a very dishonest place….. will never book it again.

Residenza Castiglioni was a great place to stay for me as a solo traveler. Its location is amazing and they have great breakfasts from 8-10AM. The only issue for me was figuring out how to get past the giant iron gated door to actually enter the building. There is no indication of what to do to get in until you get your keys from the lobby on the 2nd floor of the building. I almost had a mini panic attack from worry that I would have to sleep on the streets ! And no one answered the phone when I tried to call the hotel to ask for help.
But aside from that situation, the room itself was very nice, kept very clean, and was perfect for my 4 night trip.

Romantic place to stay, close to all major sites

Cosy little single room, had everything I needed and was a very nice place to come back too after a day out in Florence exploring. Close to all sights and also close to the station - walking distance from everything. Breakfast was lovely - boiled eggs, not scrambled, but still the pastries and the cheese, meats were devine and brown bread options My soy milk request was also met without hesitation.

Location in city is perfect . Within walking distance to most all cultural venues. BUT personell at the hotel made no effort to extend help on getting around town. Had 'attitude ' when checking in and when asking other questions. Seemed to be 'bothered ' . Been to other hotels in Florence and Milan that I would return to, not this hotel because of lack of hospitality.

Very convenient location. Easy walking distance to the train station and attractions. Staff accommodating and helpful, including holding our bags after check-out. Our room was larger than expected. Had some of the feel of staying in an old palazzo, with antique furniture, high ceiling and exposed beams. Room was clean and well-kept, as was the bathroom. Housekeeping attended to it daily. Breakfast was extensive considering that the property only has 6 rooms. Some very good restaurants close by, as well as some shopping. Also very close to the Mercato Centrale and Mercato San Lorenzo. We were very happy with the property and would recommend it to travelers looking for something a little different than the average hotel room.

Excellent location and pleasant experience

This room was quite large, quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and prepared. Breakfast as well was a bit cramped, but well prepared and staff were prompt in making room for guests as quickly as possible. The location was PERFECT. Within easy walking distance of all the historical sights we wanted to visit. Parking as well was a breeze. I would be happy to stay again and encourage you to try it out.

Great service. Not too sure about the street parking, but there is a parking garage next door for Euro $20+ a day. Tons of restaurants and few supermarkets downstair and 5 mins walking distance.

The hotel and room was great. The place did not have air conditioning which made the heat nearly unbearable. Additionally it was not fully communicated how to get to the hotel which is on the third floor of a building. Also I felt as though it lacked privacy with the rooms and doors so close together. However the stay was nice and the staff was great.

Fabulous Florence Apartment!

The executive suite was large and just beautiful. The room had 2 bathrooms one with a tub and one with a shower. The room was literally like an apartment with an extra bonus room with chairs and a window. It had a walk in closet off of the bonus room right next to the bathroom with the tub. Lovely! The room was clean and had a large screen TV and a safe and a refrigerator stocked with goodies for purchase. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. Many foods to choose from. Pastries, home made yogurt, meats, cheeses, granola, fresh fruit juices, hard boiled eggs etc. Cappuccinos were served with a smile or a heart in them and were delicious with breakfast. Made to order as many as you like.The location was excellent. Walking distance from the train station and all the sights. We didn't have to use a taxi once and saw all the major sites. Plenty of restaurants around and the leather street market was only a block away. I can't say enough good things about our stay here.Check in was easy with the lift and staff was friendly. Safe neighborhood and restaurants and grocery just outside the entrance door. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Florence.

The spaces are large and beautifully appointed in the old residence. Regretfully, there was no air conditioning and high summer temps disabled our ability to use the room.

We moved our 2nd night to a newly renovated upper level penthouse that would be perfect for 2 women or guys to use with 2 baths. The issue however that necessitates a change are the beds themselves...absolutely hard as rocks. Also the lighting isn't all practical due to many switches and overhead bed lights; while a great thought, are too strong and therefore glaring and unusuable at short distance.

Also, be prepared to navigate your bags on your own. If these things don't matter, the location and overall lodging is good for the price.

Florence beckons!

Absolutely charming B&B right in the center of town. We were greeted by a very friendly front desk clerk, who clearly took pride in maintaining his reception area and in serving the daily breakfast. We were upgraded to a Superior room, which had every surface hand-painted from floor to ceiling. We'd never seen anything like it! Perfect for a romantic getaway. The only downside was that the air conditioning unit struggled to keep up with the summer heat. We'd gladly stay there again if our travels bring us back to Florence.

The bed was really hard, but after a long walking day we still slept okay. We were a little frustrated because the listing says that there are laundry facilities at the location. There is not. It is a few blocks away. That was one of the reasons that we had booked here. Over all the place is nice, clean and a good central location. The street noise was a little loud. There was some construction going on outside our window. Room 24.

What a nice and beautiful hotel! Room is big enough and cleaned very well everyday(It is old hotel, so some parts should be updated in room but it is minor for me) Staffs are very friendly and helpful too. The most great thing is location. Hotel is so close to everywhere! Duomo, palace, trail station and museums are in walking distance!(only 5-10mins). Internet is very slow, bed is not comfortable, bathroom do not have a cabinet or stand for you to put your personal hygiene stuffs. Wonderful Experience!

What a fantastic feeling staying in this Bed and Breakfast that transports you back in time. Our suite was wonderful! Laying on their extra large bed and looking up at that 20 foot beautifully mosaic ceiling was a highlight of our trip. The building is over 500 years old, but updated so beautifully, we felt right at home. They even have an elevator, which for me, with my bad knees, was perfect! We loved it! The staff were great and spoke English well. The breakfast offered was a lovely authentic Italian meal, which we so enjoyed. We will definitely be staying here again when we go back to Florence! I highly recommend this truly unique Bed and Breakfast.

Beautiful boutique style hotel, perfect location

This hotel is in the perfect location to explore Florence. It's on a quiet street, very close to the main train station, and less than half an hour drive from the airport.
The building is beautifully kept, and the hotel itself is up a couple of grand stone staircases (there is a lift!)
We stayed in the Executive Suite as it was a special occasion, and I cannot rate it highly enough. It's huge, the decor is beautiful and the bed is very comfy. It's also incredibly quiet and the wooden shutters make for a fab night's sleep.
The staff were great at keeping in touch before our stay to ensure we had all the information we needed, and when we arrived were really welcoming and helpful during our stay, and the breakfast was tasty.
We parked in a garage literally next door at a cost of 27 Euro per 24hrs which I thought was reasonable considering we were right next to the centre of Florence.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful and understatedly luxurious stay in Florence.
Will definitely return.

This wonderful hotel is located in the city center right behind San Lorenzo church (Capella Medici). Beautifully decorated rooms remind the visitor that you are in Florence. Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is generous and tasty, the room itself is air conditioned and very spacious.

A Hidden Gem!

Residenza Castiglioni was a very pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived until the day of our departure, they were welcoming and helpful. Their reception is only open until 8 pm and some of the people in my party were arriving a bit later, so they worked with us to make sure everyone had access to the property when they arrived. Upon check in, they gave us a free upgrade and we stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite that was tastefully decorated. The room had a refrigerator, snacks for purchase, toiletries, robes and was well air-conditioned, since it was HOT (July). One of the bedrooms had a sofa bed that wasn't extremely comfortable, but the main room had a King size bed that was okay. In my experience, beds tend to be generally less comfortable than in the US, in some European countries and depending on the accommodation rating. Other than that, the room was beautiful and impeccably clean. One of the bathrooms had a tub and bidet, the other a stand up shower with a skylight. The breakfast was plentiful and the hot cocoa delicious. They offered fresh fruit, pastries and preserves. They were helpful with our questions about finding the post office and upon check out, stored our luggage for several hours until we were ready to head over to the airport.
The location is ideal because there is a market near by and also the main train station is within a few blocks and within walking distance.The Florence Hop on and Hop off bus, also has stops near by.

the building was built over 415 years ago and was converted to a B&B hotel in 2005.

Pretty and large rooms close to Duomo

I stayed at this B&B 5 years ago, and decided to stay here again based on the location and beautiful rooms with frescoes. On both occasions there was a problem when checking in. The first time we were put in a different room than we had reserved because we were told there was a problem with the water in that room. This time we were told that a water problem had not been fixed in our room, so they put us in a nearby hotel for a night. When we came back for the next two nights we were given an upgraded room with a bottle of wine.

We did appreciate the effort that the staff made to make up for the inconvenience. But I'm hesitant to stay again based on the two experiences. Otherwise, the location is very convenient, very clean and the rooms are large. The only improvement I would hope for would be mattresses that were a bit less stiff. Very good B&B overall.

The room was facing the street so it was extremely noisy. I didn't sleep for the 3 nights we were there. The noise just echoed from everywhere. It didn't help that one of the windows wouldn't shut. The bed was too hard and the shower door was broken. I was also bitten by bugs when I slept with an extra blanket taken from the closet. The morning after, I checked the blanket and it was filthy! However, I must say the breakfast was the best we had in Italy and the reception people were very friendly.

Nice hotel. There is no staff after 8PM which would be OK if you didn't have any problems. We never had a key to the front gate and ended up locked out until another guest opened the gate for us. Just check the keys before they leave. I would stay here again though. It is close to Firenze SMN train station and it is a very nice hotel.

Beautiful stylish hotel in the heart of Florence

We enjoyed this beautiful hotel, which occupies one floor in a historical building (I was told it used to be Baltasar Castiglioni Palace in 15th or 16th century) in the heart of the city. Our rooms was nicely decorated with antique furniture and fresco paintings on the ceilings and the wall, provided with the drinks (various vines, beer, tea) and some snacks, has fridge and security lock box, small TV which we did not use.
Breakfast is complimentary and vary good, in a beautiful lobby area. Staff if very friendly, speak English well and were very helpful, recommended good restaurants and ordered taxi to the airport. The hotel in walking distance from the railway station (you will not need taxi unless your suitcases are too big) and in few steps from the famous Capella Medici. There is a little grocery store next door where you can buy some drinks and food much cheaper than in restaurants.

A true palazzo!

Our room was huge, with a twenty foot high ceiling that was painted with angels. Lying in our beds, we felt that we were sleeping in the Sistine Chapel or in the Uffizi Gallery! Marvellous.

Quaint B&B

We had a nice stay at this B&B. The room was large and decorated in and old beautiful style. Very clean. Tiny place with rooms right off of the lobby area. The staff were all very polite. The shower was tiny which was not a problem, but a large person may have an issue. The location was convenient for waking around but it was in the more commercial part of Florence, I would probably stay closer to the river if I went back.

Great Stay in Florence

Very pleasant little B&B. The owner and his son were always available and very helpful. The breakfast was basic, but fresh and not rushed at all. The room looked like a small museum with the painted frescos on the walls and ceilings. Plus the room was gigantic and inculded a seperate sitting area. The location was close to the train station so carrying bags was a snap. Another bonus, a couple of blocks away is Il Mercado where you can find all sorts of great eatieries in one central location.

Lovely hotel in central location

We stayed for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon in October 2015. The location was perfect - near great restaurants and cafes, shopping, and historic attractions. The hotel owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast cappuccinos, pastries, and the homemade yogurt were delicious. Their breakfast options are very European - hard boiled eggs, a selection of meats and cheeses, and pastries. The room was clean and the decorations/wall paintings were fun. The soaps were local and natural. The only \"con\" is that the neighborhood is pretty noisy at night, especially if you want to open a window. Also, our room was pretty dark - the windows opened to a view of a building, so there wasn't really a view or any sunshine. However, we loved our stay here and will stay here next time we are in Florence!

Lovely Place

The hotel was as beautiful as the pictures. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was awesome (homemade yogurt - I made a delicious parfait with their cereal) and it was plenty close to the big sights without being on a busy street. There was noise from the street, but it didn't bother us. My only complaint would be that the pillows were wimpy, but everything else was perfect.

Comfortable Stay

Our stay was great! The hotel is in a perfect location next to the train and other sites. Breakfast was nice and convenient. Our room was upgraded as well. We would definitely stay here again.
