Poor. I don’t usually write reviews, I booked this hotel as I have stayed in Hyatt’s around the world, this is by far the worst. Staff poorly trained, trying to order room service on the phone was impossible as they didn’t understand. The pool was dirty. Staff more concerned with the Ramadan buffet guests who are not staying at the hotel rather than their actual guests. Alcohol is also an issue here, we asked for a bottle of wine to take to our room and we were present with it in a black bag like it was contraband!! Serve alcohol or don’t, but don’t make western guests feel guilty for ordering something on the menu. Finally the rooms are poor, clearly not upgraded since the 80’s, there is however a refurbishment program underway which is long overdue.

Hyatt was kind enough to upgrade my parents room. My dad is in wheelchair and so they were able to give him bigger room. The service is always excellent. Their breakfast buffet is good. They have variety of food and some vegetarian options as well. They have both western breakfast and Indonesian breakfast. The hotel has beautiful view and it’s a bit away from the main city. So you feel like you’re far away from the business of the city.

We had a very relaxing stay inn the tranquil hotel and surrounding grounds. Room was good, bed a bit lumpy and some signs of aging but oveeall very nice. The hotel is very pretty and well kept. Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and were the highlight of the stay. Javanese massage was very good.

We visited here for 6 day on a Month Long Trip and this was our favourite place in Bali/Indonesia. I would give the staff here 6 stars because 5 stars isn’t enough. Calvin, Riva, Peni, Kevin, Roy, Mel, and Nunda just to name a few of the great staff here wo take the time to get to know you. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The grounds and pool are amazing, golf was great, and the food was always fantastic.

The staff were incredible and very helpful. They fulfilled every request you had. If my review was entirely about the employees at the hotel, it would be a five star rating.

The hotel itself is a bit tired. For the level of accommodations, you would expect the bathroom to be modern. The antiquated tub, showerhead, lack of hot water and overall cleanliness were definite detractions. At one point in time we found a blood stain on our blanket which was disturbing.

I felt bad for the hotel staff because the guests and their respective children were running wild. The guests disregarded rules, including children swimming in the adults only pool, aggressively chasing birds throughout the outdoor tables and behind kitchen work stations, etc. However, the staff were unable to do anything to resolve this problem presumably due to professional deference to these unruly guests. It was disheartening to see the employees standing by without being empowered to correct these behaviors.

We had four spa treatments. The massages were great, the manicures and pedicures were severely lacking, and the ambience of the spa was pretty nonexistent. While in the treatment, you could hear noise from the nearby restaurant, loud voices, and there was no music or white noise to overcome these auditory distractions.

Lastly, you should prepare yourself for the fact that there are many mosques nearby, thus you will hear the call to prayer early in the morning.

I had a lovely stay at the Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta. The staff is very nice and the food was super delicious. The rooms are old fashioned compared to their Hyatts, but very clean and in good shape. The pick up/drop off from/to the airport has some room for improvement, but worked out in the end.
The hotel also offers nice activities like cooking classes and golf trial lessons, but unfortunately for a minimum of two. So not ideal for solo travelers. I would suggest a list at the reception as there might be more persons interested that could then pair up with somebody, instead of saying immediately there must be two. I enjoyed it anyhow and I can imagine it is a nice destination for golfers

The hotel is old, very old and the room was pretty small. The worst was the breakfast, all the food displayed in the middle of the garden with no protection from the bugs and all the people there.
After one night we decided to move to another hotel no matter our reservation didn’t allow us to get a reimbursement.

Beautiful buildings and grounds. Old room in need of renovation/modernization, especially the bathroom. Stains on upholstery. Footstep noise from overhead. Annoyingly-slow check-in, where you are asked to take a seat in the lobby while someone takes your passports and comes and goes several times with forms and eventually room keys. We'd prefer to do it in a couple of minutes standing at the front desk like everywhere else. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, busy and loud (more children here than normally seen at 5-star hotels). The spa facilities were not entirely clean, and need renovation as well. The location is outside the center, with slow traffic. We were glad we booked just one night to check it out first. We chose to go elsewhere the next day.

Example: coffee machines used during breakfast are not the standard you expect from the Hyatt (staff also called them old).

Wonderful Service!!!

The service and views were amazing!! I enjoyed seeing the smiling faces and the people who were ready to help in any situation.
The tennis courts were run down, the shower head was like rusty, and the sink in the bathroom should have been cleaned just a bit better around the rim. But like I said above, the service at the hotel and the restaurant were amazing!! I can see myself coming back!

The surroundings within the hotel is amazing. The poolside is a treat! The rooms however is a little old school. The AC could have been better and so could the bed. However, the staff there was AMAZING! Such wonderful hospitality! From the time you get out of the car to walk to the lobby, they make you feel so welcome. The friendliness, helpfulness, and determination of the staff are qualities unmatched in Southeast Asia. We would choose this hotel time and time again based on the employees alone.

Z and his wife A made our mornings at breakfast memorable and so special. Z went out of his way to prepare gluten-free pancakes, muffins, and noodle dishes for me. They were absolutely perfect and again, this speaks of the excellent service provided by the staff of the hotel. We are so grateful!

Everything else about the property leaves much to be desired. The location is far from restaurants, coffee shops, and walkable areas. Smoking is permitted everywhere on the property--sure there is a smoking designation but even on our floor, the room was equipped with an ashtray and ashtrays near the elevators as well. The gardens are decent compared to Bali, the food is nothing special, and the property is truly dated--probably the most dated hotel we've ever lodged with.

* We arrive very early after a 12 hr drive from Jakarta and no early check in available, later on we see many rooms vacant
* No offer to look after our bags until we check in, so we have to carry our luggage around town, really not helpful
* When we arrived later at check in time staff greeting us at foyer can’t speak English as they can’t understand what I’m saying
* After getting the key we have to show ourselves to our room, the lady gives us the key then she immediately looks down at computer and doesn’t even tell us where the lifts are we have to ask her. Not felt welcome at all
* When we get to the room there is no bath mat in the room - when I call room service they say they will send one up immediately it never arrived. Can you believe it?
* Basin in the bathroom become blocked have to call room service to unblock it, takes forever for them to come and unblock it so we can’t wash our hands after using the toilet.
* I ordered a hamburger 1 night it was so overcooked black both sides
* Room service orders often don't come within the advertised time of 20 mins on the menu. I think they should be free if they are late
* I ordered a beer while sitting at the pool it never came
* Pool bar closes early
* I ordered an iron to iron my shirt and it took honestly like 40 mins for it to come to our room.
* As soon as you check out you are bumped off the WiFi no offer to give you a guest pass until you leave.

The hotel is very nice overall, the scenery, the landscaping, the beautiful pool are so beautiful; the people who work at the hotel were super nice. The buffet for breakfast were excellent, I wished I had a bigger stomach so I could eat all the good food. Our room is very small and outdated. The shower is too narrow and tight for a couple. The bathroom fixtures on the hallway near the batik store needs to be fixed, please look into it.

The biggest strength of this hotel is their staff, they are professional, pleasant, communicates well, efficient and proactive. The check in and check out process was the best I have ever experienced. The second biggest strength is the scenic landscape with a view of Merapi. The Swimming pool was very unique surrounded by trees. The food options was good, rooms were clean and tidy. Some point of improvement can be on upgrading the room facilities like having USB charging ports which are found in newer hotels and better sound isolation in rooms. In short, I will be back to this hotel for my next Jogjakarta visit.

Overall credit to the Hotel establishment as the service staff; from the doorman; front desk to the room keepers are all very well trained and always have a ready smile. Special mention to 2 outstanding staff, 1 of which is Ms Sri, a service staff in the restaurant as well as Chef Zaenal, who literally went out of their way to ensure that our stay in Hyatt Regency goes beyond our expectations. Each morning, my wife & I literally look forward to our morning breakfast as Sri will make our special cup of Latte & keep checking with us whether we would like anything outside of the extensive breakfast buffet spread. Chef Zaenal went one step further to specially prepare our request of Nasi Kunning Campol or Mee Soto or any other Indonesian food we may wish to try and sample. My wife & I have travelled many places and stayed in numerous hotels & resorts over the past 35 years & we are truly impressed with these staff who paid attention to small details & went out of their way, sincerely to make the guests feel at home.

The Hotel and facilities may be dated and in need of a spruce up renovation but the service quality of staff truly make it a memorable stay indeed!

Beautiful Resort Experience in Yogyakarta

This is a hotel designed to meet the needs of families with young children, golf enthusiasts and business professionals as well. The overall check-in, breakfast spread, staff support etc. is fantastic and make you comfortable. My seven year old twins loved the activities provided in CampHyatt which was tailored to meet kid's requirements. Although the hotel is old and requires uplift, the overall experience is worth every penny that you spend!

Playing golf or viewing the temple?

This hotel will go in my books as a most unexpected surprise. This is truly a first class operation and was a welcome relief after spending 5 days in Bangkok. The entire staff was helpful with every need beginning with an airport pick up. (As an example: we arrived at 22:30 and had scheduled a 03:30 pick up for a sun rise viewing at Borobudur. The desk manager called our driver to verify the car hire booking. We spent two nights at this location and wished that it had been four. I would like to have had a go at the nine hole golf course to see if I could have added my name to the hole-in-one wall of fame. It goes without saying that the beers in Boogey's were ice cold and the outdoor evening dining set the perfect mood for a memorable stay, This location is definitely worth a repeat stay.

It’s hard to put into words our experience at the Hyatt Regency in Yogyakarta. The hotel and grounds are most beautiful, but the staff is more than beautiful. We feel like we have been accepted as family. It is an honor as well as humbling. As a runner I have been able to jog every morning around the grounds on a 2 km trail. It’s a well maintained trail as well as most beautiful. The pool is salt water which is refreshing, and cooling. Tomorrow morning I will be attending a yoga session which I know will be amazing.

Fabulous hotel in Jogja

I am not a 5 Star hotel traveller but think this one deserves it. Spectacular property, it is a huge oasis in Yogjakarta for this American traveller. Rooms were large and well maintained and all of the staff was helpful, kind and smiling. The daily breakfast buffet was worth it, even knowing how inexpensively you can eat outside the hotel. Delicious foods and remarkable staff. Several chatted me up, telling me how they earn good wages working for this Hyatt to support a family. The Executive chef approached me to offer special meals if I choose. Get the Grab App to arrange cheap Uber type rides- concierge staff outside can help you speak to the drivers. Nice hotel close to Golf course but far from city

Great staff at check in and restaurant
Great spa staff also
Very polite and professional
The Gym was not as I had expected for such a hotel
Needs an upgrade
I had oredeed hotel car for Airport in the morning I checked out and went to front of hotel and then they called the car to come
Had to wait 5 minutes
I was in a rush, was expecting car to be waiting there for pick up, so thats the only thing that I was disappointed with

Perfect for families

Hotel.com have put incorrect photos for the room type and we were surprised to found out the room we booked was different from what hotel.com publised on the website, the hotel however went above and beyond to resolve the issue. The resort was excellent for families with kids and staffs are amazing

Location of the hotel is good and the surrounding is great but interior of the room need to be renovated badly because too old and the bathtub is not in good comdition, need to change with the new one.

this hotel have exceeded our expectations.they do the small little things that makes you feel special.they surprise you with complimentary offerings like fruit platter and unlimited supply of drinking water . housekeeping will do up your room any time of the day as long as you request for it.this is one hotel i have stayed that makes you feel welcome from the moment you step into the hotel.the staff is ever so cheerful and helpful.nothing is ever no.they will try to fulfill your request.my group have had a wonderful stay and fully recommend this resort.

Awesome, Peaceful Environment

I was invited to attend a conference at the Tantrem Hotel but all rooms were booked. When I arrived at the Hyatt in Yogakarta, I was mesmorized by the beauty and lush surroundings. Being greeted by the kind and friendly staff gave a safe and peaceful feeling. I stayed at the Hyatt for 10 days and was very impressed the way I was treated from early morning until late at night by all the staff. I was travelling alone so the staff made special efforts to come and talk to me, ask how my day was etc. Everyone called me by my name which is very comforting.
I particularly enjoyed the complimentary walk thru the ricefield on sunday morning @ 6:00. I met 2 staff members who b4ecame friends, Nor and Fitry. I also met another hotel guest. We all formed a special bond. I also was impressed by the beautiful presentation and quality of the food. The restaurant staff was very efficient, caring and kind. I really enjoyed eating outside by the waterfall and pool. The hotel drivers were also very accomodating and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay!. . .

Great Friendly Base for Djogja Attractions

The Resort style property, situated a little away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown, provided an excellent base for the Djogjakarta attractions - the archaeological sites of Borobodur and Prambanan, the karaton of the Djogja Sultanate, Gunung Merapi volcano and forges of the kris masters, not to mention the batik establishments and excellent eateries.
While I had not enough time to really enjoy the excellent resort facilities available - golf course, swimming pool etc - the hotel looked after me brilliantly. Great food, excellent courteous staff, a marvellous batik shop.
The bedroom is smallish and arguably dated, but I did not mindd too much. After a fool day, the comfortable bed was pretty good!

Nice hotel and excellent staff

He clearly been refurbished lately so it was much better than the previous reviews which had said it was an old property. The staff are Super friendly and excellent. The kids loved the pool and the 70m slide!

One of the best luxury hotel in Yogyakarta !

The resort is breathtaking and well managed.. the rooms are very old and need refurbishment. Staff is excellent and so are the chefs ! All in all a great property, hope the management redo the rooms quickly..!

Super Green and Quiet Hotel With A Lot of Trees

Amazingly quiet place with lots of trees and green. Love the pool and the ponds with those water lilies and lotus flowers. Also, the services are very good. Above all, the trees and the green as well as the quietness are the biggest draw to stay here again.
