e had the most incredible 4 days and 3 nights at Aito resort. It was a completely 5 star experience from start to finish, with all of the small details considered by the staff for the ultimate experience.

We were celebrating my partners 30th birthday and staff went above and beyond to make it special.

We did the snowmobile experience and northern lights hunt and we were lucky enough to experience the Aurora on the hunt and again from our igloo.

Above all - the staff here are faultless - the staff in both restaurants, the guy in the spa, Wendy in the safari house, maintenance guys and reception staff. So so friendly and kind. Thank you guys for making such a special 30th birthday for my partner - we want to come back for my 30th now in 2 years! X

This hotel is truly centered around nature, making it the perfect place to relax and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. They offer areas for sledding, reindeer that you can feed if you purchase food at reception, a spa with two complimentary hours per day, as well as outdoor and reception firepit areas. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and cozy, although I wish there were more luggage storage options and a thermometer for better temperature control. Breakfast is included (7:00 AM to 10:00 AM) and is served buffet-style. While it’s not very large, it offers enough variety to start your day off well. There are two restaurants: one casual dining option with great salmon soup, and another more à la carte experience. The river view is stunning (especially frozen in March), and there’s even a spot for an icy dip if you’re feeling brave. You can sometimes see the Northern Lights from the hotel if the sky is clear, though excursions are still recommended due to some light pollution. The staff is very friendly, and their WhatsApp service is a big plus. You can also book excursions directly with the hotel, which is helpful since many tours don’t pick up there. They offer shuttle service to the airport, Santa Claus Village, and downtown Rovaniemi. The only downside was some communication challenges with spa staff for international guests, which could be improved. Aside from that, we loved everything. It’s a bit pricey but definitely worth it.

Arriving at Aito after a long flight was such a relief. Everything was super seamless — transportation was already handled, check-in was easy, and it just made the whole arrival feel really smooth.
The staff were amazing. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and just really on top of everything without it feeling overdone.
Watching the Northern Lights from the igloo was definitely a highlight — such a cool experience and something I’ll remember for a long time.
Also, the spa was perfect after that much travel. Really calm, well designed, and a great way to reset.
Overall, such a beautiful property and really well thought out experience from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend.

It was amazing. Although very far from the city and we had a cloudy few days, the spa, amenities and staff were amazing. Everyone was very accommodating and it was very easy to communicate with staff via Whatsapp or in person. The shuttle service was great, the booked tour with the hotel worked perfectly, restaurants were good and it was a great stay.
Highly recommend a trip to Aito in the rovaniemi area. A perfect little escape

Stayed for a night in an igloo and the service from staff was first class from the moment we were picked up from the train station. Our igloo had great views of the surrounding nature with amazing resort facilities. The spa and sauna was very relaxing and breakfast was delicious. Would stay here again if I return to a Rovaniemi one day.

We stayed at Aito Igloo & Spa and really enjoyed our time there. The hotel offers several different types of accommodations, and we stayed in the main building, which was comfortable and convenient.
The spa area is wonderful, with plenty of options to relax - Jacuzzis, saunas, pools, and cozy lounging spaces. There’s even a cold plunge spot right in the lake, which was such a unique experience. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help. They welcomed us with a hot drink and popcorn, which was a lovely touch, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a small gift on our last day.
The views are stunning no matter which room you stay in, and breakfast was very good. We also had dinner at the hotel each night, and the food was decent and satisfying. We’d definitely recommend Aito Igloo & Spa to anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic stay.

We had a mixed stay. The biggest positive was the staff, everyone was warm and helpful, especially Anika, who went above and beyond, and Gabriel, an excellent guide who made the excursions enjoyable. The setting is beautiful, the spa is nice, and airport transfers were convenient.

However, there were major issues. The treehouse is extremely small and felt claustrophobic even with three people. Food was a serious problem, despite written confirmation months ahead that our dietary needs could be met, we were told four days before arrival that they couldn’t. Given the remote location and severe allergies in our group, this was very stressful and unacceptable. Portions were small for the price, breakfast options for non-meat eaters were very limited, and no manager was ever available to speak with us.

We also had a negative spa experience due to other guests disrupting a reserved booking, with no follow-up from management. Overall, the staff on the ground were the only real highlight, trying their best despite poor management.

The location is amazing, so are the treehouse rooms. Highly recommended. Yet, lunch was awful, a frozen pizza for 20 euros. And only hotel I have been where check out is at 11 and check in at 4 pm. You pay full price for 19 hours.

It would have been Nice to have some fruit, cut out at the breakfest buffet. And people were sitting very close to the buffet, so it could be difficult to get the Food and juice.
The spa was nice, maybe put a sign up to the locker-room(where you change before going to the spa) as we had trouble finding it and just thought it was toilets.

Unforgettable Stay at Aito!

We had an amazing experience at Aito, and we highly recommend it! The spa facilities were excellent, with finnish sauna and jacuzzi. Snowmobiling was an exciting adventure that allowed us to explore the beautiful surroundings in a fun way.

The lake-view igloo was simply adorable—though small, it offered stunning views and a cozy, magical atmosphere. We absolutely loved the Junior Suite. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, and felt like a true home away from home. The staff at the resort were incredibly helpful and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Overall, our time at Aito was unforgettable, and we hope to return one day!

Some things were excellent but the excessive light pollution from the hotel and the excessive amounts of light diminished the aurora experience. Even all the way on the lake the bright lights of the resort spilled excessive light pollution for what is otherwise an extremely dark area.

The treehouse was very fun, dinner was good but slow.

The igloos were a fun experience, but similar to glamping - no shower, and a compostable toilet that wasn’t changed during our 3 night stay. Our bed also was only made for the first time on our last night. There was also a carafe of water in your room that you had to refill yourself during your stay, and reception rarely had water, so it felt like it was hard to come by.

Service was also not 5 star quality - they would serve multiple customers at once (instead of dealing with one issue and moving on) and then speak openly about other guests problems in front of customers. We had a 4pm check in and when we returned to reception at 5pm, we had to wait 20 mins while the staff got distracted on another guests issue before they could check our room and let us in (we arrived at the hotel at 1pm).
The hotel is very remote so I’d advise bringing your own snacks, because if you miss lunch, there’s nothing to eat until dinner at 5pm. The food however was delicious and felt 5* (albeit a little pricey). We also wished the aurora bar was open more nights after dinner - they didn’t say when it would be open but is a nice place to have a drink and roast some marshmallows.
The spa facilities were good and it was fairly quiet during our stay.
Would recommend Baba Husky’s Husky ride as an activity - you just need to organise a transfer (you have to pay) out of the resort to nearby Santa Claus village. That was the highlight of our stay.

We choose to stay in the igloo upon viewing the room is was not as listed on Expedia. I advised the hotel of this and they didn’t offer a solution. I asked if we could go into a lesser room with based facilities. I was told I couldn’t get my money back. This is not acceptable.

The location was superb and so were the facilities. However, there is no management to guide the young staff left alone to run the hotel.....there is also more to be done on clearly stating the local activities and prices....the restaurant menu, especially lunch need to be a more varied if you are staying for more than two days. Airport pickup is chaotic and overal management needs to be improved.

Treehouse not worth the price

Stayed in one of the treehouses for one night and took advantage of the spa. The novelty wears off once you realize you can’t control the temp of your room. The spa was fine but already needed had some wear and tear despite being relatively new. American style breakfast want worth waking up in the dark for.

Let's start with the good. We came to see the aurora borealis and we were able to accomplish our goal. There are a few staff members that are exceptionally well and if they staffed the entire property with these three staff members and then it would be exceptional. The staff were Andrea, Tree who worked as the manager in dining and Patty the manager.
The property is missing the details that make it qualify to be a 5-star.
First five star properties have five star customer service and that was significantly missed at this property. For example, Manus, in the dining needs customer service training. He acted as if we were in inconvenience and was unaccommodating.
Having a limit on visiting the spa facilities is insane when that's all you can really do in property and when you're paying 1400/ night.
The rooms should have closet space and room for luggages.
There should be room service.
House keeping should make up beds daily and supply cold water in rooms.
There should be a transport buggy for moving around the property in the cold.
Lastly, when the Aurora is out, turn the lights down on property to make it easier for guest to see and enjoy.
I was assured the property will make improvements by next year so hopefully others will have a different experience.
If none of these details matter to you, you'll have a great time.

Absolutely beautiful, highly recommend. We cant wait to go back . The only things would suggest and not a criticism at all , but a mirror in the bedroom area would have been nice and a wider choice of lunch time menu, but understand they are keeping to traditional cuisine. A coffee lounge area would have have been amazinv give. The location . Honestly the best place i have ever visited . YOU HAVE TO GO !!

It's a Wonderful Gem hidden in Lapland. The front staff was very friendly and helpful. The spa was amazing, relaxing, and beautiful. The salmon soup for lunch was amazing and delicious. The fine dining was a bit understaffed, but the staff was lovely and made up for the long wait. We enjoyed the Aurora Tree House—it was beautiful. Our tip would be to add some amenities to the hotel room, like a vanity set, dental set, etc. We loved this place!
